She smiled, hehe. yup he was nice, better then LaFay at least XD but that was easy, but of course Lafay will never know, "Pleasure to meet you too, you left for awhile from Hogwarts correct?" She said, she had wondered this because when she was talking to Torin he said he didn't know he left. |
Quote:
"Perhaps I should take my leave." Ethan murmured to himself. If everyone was so insistant about talking about himself and Annie and implying things that he was not entirely equipped to deal with, it might just be best. Quote:
Love? Amusing? That was an interesting assessment. "I'll do that." The regards thing. Judgement thing? What on Earth was Casey on about? He gave the man a look from behind his glasses. Alright, perhaps it WAS a judgement thing that time. Gryffindor. Quote:
And with a point loss too. First of the term. Not such a strange thing really. He'd deal with Jake later. Quote:
Quote:
As if hearing that made anything better. Merlin. He sunk into his chair a bit further, fairly close to seeking shelter under the table where their eyes wouldn't be felt and the word 'marriage' would be far less audible. He glanced around, trying to distract himself, still somewhat jumpy. Quote:
That was nice of Torin, Truebridge supposed. "Well... Torin Kane was... an alright student." He supposed that too. No really, the boy had moments of brilliance, interrupted and diluted by moments of the usual teenage angst, laziness and disinterest. "Yes." He agreed, glad of the distraction. "I did. For a year." This time. He wasn't counting the time in Azkaban a few terms back. |
-sighs- I do not answer to Ikea, in case you have yet to discover this. Quote:
Did he mean to sound sarcastic with mention of the elbowing or was that still an attempt to be friendly? "Thank you for your welcome, Sabel Dakest. Perhaps we will be able to speak more, after the feast." Ikenna kept his tone clear of all emotion, as was usual, although he did give the boy an approving nod as he moved on to greet Tate. Turning his attention slightly toward Quote:
Quote:
Silently watching as the staff addressed Jake, Gevrik made several careful observations of how a student was deemed 'out of line' and how such a student would be dealt with. At least some of the professors had a modicum of respect for each other and their visitor. It seemed all were eager to tell Jake to sit down, to tell Jake to hush, to tell Jake that he would be losing 'points' for his House. What an interesting reaction, considering that the boy's questions had been legitimate and he was correct in stating that today's Ministry intervention, as it always seems, was late in coming. The Hufflepuff did have a rude manner about him, whether he realised it or not, but he also had a different sort of intelligence. It was somewhat unfortunate that Jake returned to his seat as Ikenna shifted restlessly in his. "While I must respect your disciplining of the students, particularly at an important school tradition such as the opening feast," he addressed the table at large, speaking just loud enough to be heard, "I must also respect the students enough to answer their questions if they are presented in an honest manner." He rose from his seat with a low, "Excuse me," and slid through the crowd, heading for one of the student tables. |
Quote:
But then it hit her, if he wasn't gonna answer they would go silent, "So how was your summer Professor?" She asked, there was a questions he might answer :D |

LAFAY! Katie turned to see her, she didn't want that happening to Katie, noo way, "Yes Professor Lafay, sorry Professor Truebridge" She said slightly bowing down, she could resist, she walked back to her table pretending nothing happened. |
SPOILER!!: Truebridge, Vindictus, Lafay, Tate & Ikenna Either this new ministry man was daft, he chose to ignore the sarcasm and insults, or Sabel had disguised them decently with a false air of respect that had yet to be earned. Though judging by Tate's slight hint at warning, and the knowledge of his own poor discretion skills, he highly doubted it was the later. And the foremost just seemed to be a disappointment of character to be chosen by the ministry. The man was crafty and well thought-out, albeit rude and disrespectful of the Deputy's position, which usually meant there was much more being offered than the polite exchange of words. Nevertheless, Sabel restrained his tongue from any further comments and gave Ikenna a slight nod of his head in acknowledgement, turning a little to watch as he took his leave of the staff table. He seemed like the type of man that just needed to wear big, bold letters of 'danger' on his back. Still, he would look forward to a meeting with this man. And his meeting with Tate. Returning his eyes to the headmaster, he tilted his head quizzically in a thought to ask what the topic of discussion would be, but decided it best to keep his mouth shut. Most likely it was another talk on proper time and place. Still, it seemed to be tradition and he wasn't about to question it. "I'll make it my first priority, Sir." He spared a small smile to Truebridge and Vindictus, about to comply with the flying professor's dismissal and withhold his questions about health and summer enjoyment when his eyes returned to Lafay. That was right, there was something he still had to ask her. There was a moment of hesitation before he moved out of the way of the others and to Lafay, considering her before speaking with as much respect as he would offer the other Professors, despite the irking feeling of just wanting to walk away. "Professor Lafay, I know now is not the time to discuss matters of the classroom, but I was wondering if I may be able to speak to you regarding your class when it is convient for you." After all, they had parted ways on being more inclined never to say a word to the other again. |
Le Prof Chaud! muahah! Rae never bothered wasting her time with talking to the teachers..... Until..... Who is this? She couldn't resist, after glancing at the Puff table to make sure someone wasn't looking... She made her way up to a new face.... "Excuse me..Hello... Are you a new professor this term?" Please say yes, PLEASE say yes... |
Quote:
No, she seemed to have brought no edible items. Excellent. No, I'm here as a personal assistant to Mr. Gevrik, and shall henceforth distribute free garlic for the betterment of all mankind. Suppressing a lazy little grin at the thought, Jared nodded. "Indeed," he said, setting down his goblet, the action carrying his usual touch of natural, rather detached elegance. "Charms, Miss... ?" |

Was she trying to prove something? It was unnecessary. Quote:
He spared a glance at Tate and then stood up. "Excuse me." He directed this at Tate, Vindictus and Lafay in particular, since they were nearby, and then stood up, following Gevrik. |
Quote:
YES! Success! Rae will NEVER EVER EVER miss one of his cla- Charms? Ergh. Figures, the one subject that she dislikes most.... Name? Right... Uhh.. What was her name? Did she just forget her name? Think.. Oh yeah! "Rae Lilyan Skye... Professor." She was NOT calling him sir.... He was too good looking to be a sir. Nonetheless... Charms? No! This was not the chosen class he could be teaching, how could she ever.... Wait... AHA! Idea. "I'm horrible at Charms.. I needed tons of help from Professor Carlton last year. Some extra tutoring this term would be very helpful if you are willing.." Lie. Rae did need help last year, and every year before that.. But never once had she actually looked for help with Charms. She couldn't remember actually going to class too often actually. Study time... Good idea Rae! |
Text Cut: Rae <3 It took her some time to tell him her name, and Jared assumed she was excited, it being the start of the term. "Rae," he said easily. "Of course." He hadn't expected to have to provide individual tuition outside of his classes, but he was here to teach. "Let's wait till the end of this week and, if my classes take you nowhere, you can drop into my office and we can discuss that." Simple and effective. "Is there anything else I can help you with?" His look was polite and mildly inquiring. |
Quote:
HA! Then why did they hire HIM? Not that she's complaining... At all.. And he agreed to tutoring! Woot woot! Wait? Till the end of the week? THE ANTICIPATION! It will most likely kill her. "Alright." She was about to get lost in those deep green eyes of his when he spoke... uhhhhh... What? Well can I just stand here and stare for a while? "Sorry Professor, I didn't catch your name.. " Of course she was being polite, which was weird... Maybe she can get on a first name basis with him? That.... That would be lovely. |
Quote:
Could he tell her that that might be because he hadn't mentioned it? Jared chose not to. "Professor Descoteaux," he said easily. He'd left out the actual name, and it never occurred to him that she might want to know that. "That better, Miss Skye?" Lazy little grin. Yes, Jared was glad she hadn't brought cookies or licorice wands. |
Quote:
"I see, French... I always wanted to travel to France... I learned a bit of french too.. " This poor guy.. Had no idea that Rae had NEVER acted like this before. "May I suggest a name that is less of a tongue twister? I think Le Prof Chaud suits you well..." Yes accept the name... Because you will be called by no other name from now on.. |
mention of the Rae visit in here too (because it's making me giggle) Quote:
She really didn't want to think another coup was going to happen. Not when it could actually affect her directly, as Hogwarts wasn't really entirely separate from the other institution. Going back to the amusement of learning about each other was much needed, as it gave her reason to push thoughts about Mr. Gevrik and how he made her uneasy away again. Jared definitely didn't make her uneasy, and she accepted his smile with one of her own. She was caught, but it seemed he respected her advantage. It made things easier. Another laugh met his words, however. "Explaining the manticores, perhaps?," she teased. "I can't say I've ever been much for that. Massive danger, at least. A little makes things fun, though." Gave her more ideas for her writing, really. But as a Slytherin girl approached Jared, she sat back quietly, a faint grin on her face as she heard the thought about mr. Gevrik and garlic. It seemed the focus on her had dimmed, so now she could watch. And she didn't need to look to tell what was going on with Miss Skye. It was fairly obvious, to her at least. She waited to see how Jared would field it all. Especially the new nickname. She knew enough French to understand that. This term was definitely going to be interesting . . . |
Kristin and Rae <3 Text Cut: Kristyeen <3 Ah. "It seems like the manticores refuse to leave me alone, even here," Jared said, clearly amused by the comment she had made. In the days before he had known how to block his mind, seal his thoughts, such an invasion had meant frustration. Now, knowing he could be in control alone put him at ease. "But I must say, Renée, unconscious sounds a little tame in relation to them." He grinned, again lazily, not able to help it. "You prefer a sofa, a cozy fire and a good book, then?" He'd steered the topic back to her interest, because he felt it poor form to have the conversation focus on something so him, but he couldn't say the thought - a cozy fire and a good book - did not appeal to him. Quote:
He coughed. "Do I... look feverish?" Surely, she had been trying to say that. |
SPOILER!!: Ikenna's speech Interesting addition to Tate's speech. Josephina watched and observed as Jake seemed to have many legitimate questions about the intervention. Questions that her colleagues seemed to brush off deem him as rude. Perhaps it was rude, but then again so were they by brushing off a student. Yet Josephina was not about to say such in a public place. Nah, at least she had some respect and dignity for her peers and the students. Always the students. Quote:
Quote:
Quote:
The time has come for change though, of that Josephina had been sure. Her first two terms as Professor had been relatively calm, but she knew it couldn't last forever. The calm before the storm. Giving the Muggle Studies Professor a polite smile, she turned her attention over to Maya now. She would however, be making a stop by Jeremy's office soon, that she was sure of. Quote:
The Creatures Professor had seemed decent enough. ooc: Did I really typo that as 'lazy' instead of easy? Whoops! o.O *eyes tired brain* That's what I get for typing posts late at night ;D Quote:
And what? Disobeying every member of the staff who has asked you to return to your seat? Hogwash. Jake wouldn't have disobeyed Ethan for instance. Or probably not a few others as well, had they asked. But was it not clear that with certain students - Jake in particular - you couldn't just ask them without giving something in return. It was his Hufflepuff determination. Quote:
Quote:
What was she trying to prove anyway? Superiority? If that was the case, then she felt bad for the students who took potions. Quote:
And also was losing patience. Which is why she looked to her fellow colleagues nearby; namely Maya, Risu, Jared ... Maybe even Tate. "Excuse me," she said quietly, as she rose from her seat and headed down towards the house tables. She wasn't hungry anymore. |
Awww, *pets poor confused Jared* (I should get to bed after this) Quote:
She shrugged lightly as he steered the conversation back to herself, however. "Occasionally. You'll find I can be a bit, well, unpredictable, really," she responded, almost cryptically. Knowing reactions had always made it so much easier to be that way. She could find out what was expected, then switch things up. And besides, that fire could also be used for more than light, getting back to Divination ideas. She was better with the Tarot, though. Not to mention she imagined her choice in reading material could be surprising. She wasn't about to say anything else, while there was the amusement to be had of watching students developing crushes, and she sat back in her chair again as it seemed he was a bit, oh, confused by Miss Skye's words. That was the easiest way of putting it, although if he was truly that innocent it added to those layers she liked. She was tempted to continue her little connection, but held back for once. This was more fun without it. A wry half-smile crept onto her face at his question to the girl, though. "Actually, I think she means something else entirely," she commented, not quite hiding the sparkle in her eyes. Even if he was in denial, it was too tempting to not tease him. |
Quote:
Oh, points, right. Hecate had taken quite a few more than she would have, but it was not her place to say anything. She hated doing it too, it was lucky she didn't have much opportunity, spending her days in the hospital. Hmm... maybe if she didn't say anything, no one would notice. She was glad when Jake finally went back to his seat, like he had been asked, but she didn't really mind if he had stayed in the first place. It was a good thing for the children to talk to Ikenna, she knew some of the things the man thought, and she quite liked them. Why should the children not have the same opportunity? She was also glad when Ikenna left the table to go talk to the students, easier access that way. No other staff members to tell them to go away and then send them to her. If she left early.... would anyone notice? She sent some sneaky glances around the table, to see who was occupied, and therefore wouldn't see the nurse go missing. |
SPOILER!!: Lisasasa/Jeremy Still twirling the liquorice absent mindedly, in a way that a cheerleader would have been proud of, Isabelle studied Jeremy's face as she waited for him to reply. He seemed - tempted - to say it, but maybe he was just too nice, even with permission. "Alright. If you insist." Although she figured that it wouldn't be the last time her shopping habits were bought up by someone. Heh. Smiling, she rested her elbow on the table and chomped down on the now not twirling liquorice. Haha. He was certainly worried about the shopping, wasn't he? Although Issy could see he was joking from his demeanour, she kept a poker face when replying. "Wellll I don't know," she sighed, scratching her chin in an overly fake manner. "It could do, but then it might not. All depends on my mood..." She broke out into a broad grin and shook her head, dark hair flowing over her shoulders. "No, I wouldn't do that to you. Not evil, remember? But a drink would be lovely sometime." More than lovely. So far she had been very entertained the both times she had spoken to Jeremy, so why not? She could do with a few more friends now she was back in the UK. Eyeing the liquorice wand being waved near her face, Issy laughed at the question Jeremy put to her. "How much time do you need?" She had a feeling that he could reel off a whole list. But his idea was actually an impressive one. Sometimes she wished she could leave Alastair to his own devices while she went off to look around. He would most certainly agree. "Actually, you know, there are a few Muggle shopping places that have those," she mused, flicking her hair back over her shoulder and out the way of her food. It wasn't just the wizarding shops that she frequented, you know. "I believe they call them - what was it....Oh! A crèche. I think. Only a more grown up version." Issy waved her hand and laughed. For some reason it gave her images of babies in nappies, not grown men. Quote:
The poor boy only wanted to know what was going on, she could understand why. But maybe his approach was not the best way of going about asking. With several other professor's addressing him, and taking points for his disobedience, she wasn't going to intervene, however much she thought a bit of leeway might have been better. They obviously knew him, and his ways, better than she did. Although it seemed that Ikenna was perhaps of the same opinion. Glancing along the table at him as he spoke, she nodded as he excused himself. Eyeing up the many students before her, Issy sighed and poked at her food - eventually taking a bite of the sliced chicken. Maybe she could go and visit them herself? |
Quote:
And then suddenly the woman just stood up and walked away. Looking around to see if anyone would offer an explanation, the Mexicana watched her go and decided to just start eating instead. Heh. Er... what just happened? OOC: HAHA, see how lazy *I* am? I just copied you xD Quote:
Jared's comment and that look he got made the Mexicana feel like she finally found a normal Professor to talk to. But when he asked about the nursery, she could almost barely hide a face that said 'Cutie, please.' Pffft, ofcourse they had one! Instead, she tried to just smile and nod. "Ofcourse." Had he seen the grounds yet? "If you need a guide to show you around, let me know." Reaching over for the many plates of food, Maya quickly grabbed a handful of tortillas (oh yeah, the house elves knew what she wanted) and then scooped up a mountain of sallad, vegetables and beans. Mmmm... Rolling up the first toritlla with magnificent talent ( ;D ), she took a bite and tried not to grin. |
SPOILER!!: Le Prof Chaud! And intruder professor! Mr.Hot's response took Rae by surprise.. but she had quickly recovered from it with a small smile.. Innocent and attractive.. How cute. She didn't really have a reply for his question, only that it was really cute... Though, she shouldn't say that... There was a certain Hufflejock nearby after all. A voice.. Of a woman.. Raes eyes tore away from the beautiful man in front of her to some lady next to him. GRRRR. Interupting their talk.. That's what she was doing. Nonetheless Rae played along like a nice girl.. She did say she would act like an angel this year.. "Precisely...." Rae said calmly, her eyes now not leaving the woman's... This guy may be innocent and might not catch on... But if this woman was smart... She would get her eye message... After she had the impression that possibly this lady had understood Rae's look, she turned her attention back to Sir Gorgeous. "That's alright... Feverish... That could work too..." Feverishly HOT! |
Reluctant and embarrassed, Willow went up to the staff table. She covered her bleeding cheek and said to whichever professor would listen: "E-Excuse me... Could I- Could I please get some help? My... My cheek is bleeding a lot and it won't stop..." . |
Cai wandered up to the Staff Table. She looked at one of the teachers, who she thought was the Arithmancy teacher, what ever Arithmancy was. "Uh, hi. I'm Cai, Cai Black." Oh boy, now she really sounded stupid. "You're the Arithmancy teacher, right? Uh, I was wondering if you could help me. I don't know who my head of house is. I'm in Gryffindor." She smiled. "Great, that sounded really stupid. She's probably going to think that I'm a Muggle-born, not that there's anything wrong with them. And the part about what house I'm in? That was down right stupid. I have a badge on my robes that would tell her that I'm in Gryffindor. That was really stupid." Cai decided to take another walk. Maybe she should get out of here. "No," she thought. "I need to know the answer to my question. I have to stay." Cai smiled at the teacher again as she waited for her answer. |
