"So what's been up with you?" |

When he asked about a boyfriend Selina blushed, "I do. His name's Demitri and he's really great... but it's it wrong that I have a crush on someone else? I mean he's a lot older than me so I guess it's like an admiration thing, but still is it wrong? And I feel like me and Demitri have fallen apart at the seams. He has his... issues and I don't see him much." Being a werewolf was more than just an issue. |

As Selina began to fret about her boyfriend, Christopher began to feel a bit out of place. Violet was his first real girlfriend, and they hadn't ever had any problems, so he was just going to have to give her the best advice he could manage. "Well, it's not wrong, but it is a bit unfair to Demitri. If you and Demitri aren't doing well, and the only reason you are still with him is that you don't want to hurt him, then it's probably for the best if you two saw other people. If you really care about him, then you should do your best to spend more time together and help him through whatever issues he has, right?" He wasn't a relationship expert, but Christopher was trying his best. "So how much older is this 'mystery boy' anyway?" |
Quote:
When Chris gave her advice on Demitri she sighed, "I know I have to break off, but it's just hard you know? I mean I never see him because of practice and he is dealing with... things. It's for the best, but it's going to be hard." Selina blushed when he inquired about the 'mystery boy'. "He's five years older than me... and he's really sweet, but I'm a first year and ugh I don't know. I'm not particularly interesting enough to have a sixth year be interested." |
Quote:
He nodded sadly. "Those kinds of things are always hard. But if you get it over with soon, the less heart break there will be. I'm sorry it didn't work out, but whatever he's dealing with, you can still be there to support him as a friend." Woah. Chris nearly did a double take when she told him the age of her new crush. He was suspecting a third or fourth year, but that was a lot of years. It was probaboy just a little school girl crush, but he would support the little ginger anyway. "Hey, lots of people have parents with a huge age difference and they're just fine!" His parents were six years apart and they were just fine. It was his mum's relationship with her children that was not. |

He spoke about Demitri and she responded, "Yeah, I know. I'm going to do it tonight. I don't want to live like this anymore." Selina blushed, "I'm only eleven. I'm not looking to have kids with the guy, I just like him. And it's okay, 'cause I know for a fact he doesn't look at me that way. I'm his little first year and he thinks I'm adorable. Adorable..." It was so frustrating. Selina could barely form sentences in front of him and he thought she was the cutest thing. He saw her as the 'newbie' as he liked to call her and at practice the two were on friendly ground. It was like she could look but not do anything about it. |

He put a hand on his friend's shoulder and nodded reassuringly. "It's probably for the best." It was such a shame how things turned out sometimes. Especially when the most awful things happened to the most wonderful people. At this, Christopher laughed. "Well I know, I was just using an example. But that's not funny. No, I can only imagine how frustrating that must be." He imagined a mini-Chris and an older Violet, her thinking he was just adorable and him just helplessly liking her. "I really don't know what to tell you. It must be hard, but I'm sure you'll find the right someone soon enough." Wow, giving advice was easier than he thought. Huh. |
Quote:
Speaking of the guy Selina said, "I know. It's just he's so wonderful. Do you know what it's like to see someone and get these pains in your chest. But when they look back it's like your a child to them? I may be eleven, but I'm not like most eleven year olds. All of my friends are older and by a lot. Minus Violet and Elektra. I don't know. I just hurts." |
Quote:
"I'm really sorry Selina. Violet's my first ever girlfriend, so I really can't relate, but I'm sure it's hard. You'll find a good guy soon, even if it may not be your sixth year." Christopher gave his friend a reassuring smile. |

When he mentioned the boy the last time Selina sighed, "Yeah I know. Weird that I even thought about him like that. I mean why would Simon Bennett even notice me as anything other than a Chaser on his team..." Whoops. She had not meant to say names. |
Quote:
Simon Bennett? That name sounded familiar. Maybe he was in their house. Huh. "I bet he values you as a good friend." He wouldn't tell anyone Selina's secret. He probably wouldn't remember this boy's name by tomorrow anyway. |
Quote:
"Um, right, well... I've got nothing... What's up with you and your Dad? Is he doing better?". He probably didn't know that she knew by the look on his face, "Elyie told me." |

After a few seconds of awkward pause, she said, "...all the classes that have been centered around Muggles." Ugh. It was so hard to admit failure to this boy. He was a--what? Seventh year? "Why don't you just tell me some of the ways Muggles are different from us? Besides the obvious, I mean." That was probably what she was having trouble with the most--understanding the Muggles' way of life, how they got by without magic...things like that. |
Quote:
"Good," she giggled, "I'm glad that your so excited to have hope. Most people would be pessimists. Have you ever read Candide by Voltaire... your attittude kind of reminds me of him." |
Quote:
Pursing his lips together, he nodded slowly, contemplating for a moment. All the classes that had mentioned muggles had touched on one area or another specific to the class, so finding a focus was rather difficult. A few moments passed as he moved slowly over to one of the windows in the corridor, seating himself slowly on the sill. "Well. Muggles can't heal themselves like we can. Not as quickly anyways." Go figure he would pick a topic so close to home. Tucking his hands in his pockets, he shifted until he was relatively comfortable. "They practice what is called medicine. It's...using substances, materials and time to heal wounds and ailments. For instance, a broken bone; we would use episkey. Muggles have to reset the bone, or line it back properly, and then bind it in that position so that the body can start to reknit the tissues together. Think of the effects of episkey lasting anywhere from a few weeks to a few months." Hopefully, this line of discussion would answer some of the topics brought up by potions and muggle studies at least. |
Hehehe, you called Christopher Adam.^_^ Quote:
"Yes, I've read it. It's a very good one." Oh Christopher, was there a book he hadn't read that was published before the 21st century? When Selina compared him to Candide, Christopher turned bright crimpson once again. "Thank you, I guess Elyon and I were raised on optimism by our father, but thank you." candide was a bit naiive..... was Christopher? He certainly hoped not. |
Sorry... force of habit lol Quote:
When Christopher responded to her attribute to Candide and him he grew red in the face. Maybe she shouldn't have brought up Candide, he was a tad naive at the start of the text. Clarifying herself she said, "I mean his good trades. Loyal, noble, optimistic, loving, helpful, and the good things about him. I know some people read him as naive, but I think that he grows from his experience looking for Cunegonde, don't you?" |
Hehe, don't worry about it. :) Quote:
Christopher nodded. "Well thank you for clarifying, I was a bit worried you were caling me naiive or something." He chuckled. "I completely agree with you about growing on his journey to find Cunegonde. But as for her- auck! I just can't stand the woman! She only has looks. I mean, she's not smart, she'd betray Candide to benefit herself in a heartbeat, I mean, what does he see in her?!" Christopher didn't like Cunegonde. |
Quote:
Then she laughed, the two had just had a discussion about philosophy. Yet Selina was somewhat glad, she had no one who understood her love for advanced literature, for an eleven year old at least. "We just argued about Candide. Something is wrong there. We are not even thirteen." |
Quote:
At Selina's next point, Christopher laughed so hard he nearly cried. "What are you talking about? It's TOTALLY normal for kids our age to discuss philosophy!" Even though he was just joking around, Chris was so glad he found someone other than El to talk about this sort of thing with. |
Quote:
Selina laughed, "Did you just call Cunegonde a butthead? I can't believe you just called one of the most well crafted factitious characters in all literature and philosophy a butthead." Selina could not stop the laughter. Maybe it was because Christopher had said it so matter-of-factly and serious. If she were with anyone else the use of butthead would not have stirred this reaction, but it was the topic of conversation that brought about the convulsing. "Sorry, it was just so serious the way you said it." "Right of course," Selina joked, "I do this type of thing all the time. Hey you know I had a really good discussion with my Quidditch Team the other day about Moby-Dick," Selina joked, "Yep we discussed the morality of Starbuck." ...not. |
Quote:
She sat quietly as she listened to Sabel's description of muggle medicine. "Episkey--lasting anywhere from a few weeks to a few months?!" she exclaimed. Merlin, that sounded painful! She'd always been glad to be a witch raised in a magical family, but now she was more than glad. She was relieved. "Treyen Lockhart and I are working on a potion," she said, her eyes flickering up to meet his. "We've been working on it since the last Potions for Muggles Club. It's...a cure for Alzheimer's." Her voice trailed off on the last few words. She was still a little unsure that she and Treyen were even on the right track with what they were discussing. |
