Gobstones: Slytherin vs. Ravenclaw Preliminary Match Professor Hadley waited for the Ravenclaw and Slytherin players to enter the Gobstones court. As they took their places, she handed them each their appropriate gobstone bags, blue for Ravenclaw, green for Slytherin, each containing the appropriately colored gobstones. She then levitated the gray jackstone into position in the center of the court. "I presume that before we begin, you have all familiarized yourselves with the rules. There is a zero tolerance for cheating and only one warning will be issued for playing out of turn. Let the match begin." |

Mistletoe (Sowilo) |
Mr Wilkes of Ravenclaw is quite on the ball when it comes to the game of Gobstones; speedy and accurate, the blue stone lands rather nearby to the Jack Stone. Can Slytherin outdo it? . . . . . . Ravenclaw wins the point. One more and they've got the first round in the bag. Or the pit. Quote:

The number four. The bluebell means that things will stay constant/consistency. |
Those cunning Snakes are not willing to be outdone though, as Miss Takenouchi takes aim with her green stone and it lands quite close to the Jack Stone. Is Ravenclaw going to attempt to get closer? Waiting, waiting ... Slytherin gains a point. Next stone closest wins the first round. Quote:

Ravenclaws are not willing to give up THAT easily though, as first year, Spike Hutchinson uses some wit and aims his blue stone as it rolls and rolls ... landing right next to the Jack Stone. Those Claws got great aim, as they take the first round! Quote:

It's a back and forth match for those Eagles and Snakes, as another rather mentally gifted student, Evelyn Flores-Shepard takes possession of the pit. Rolling her green stone carefully ... it makes a stop right next to the Jack Stone - give or take a couple millimeters. Unless Ravenclaw wants to try and get closer ... which given the quietness from their end, that's a no, Slytherin wins the first point of round two. Quote:

The Sneaky Snakes dig their fangs deeper to penetrate as Miss Destiny aims her stone and it rolls quite close to the Jack Stone. But its enough to cause the Jack Stone to spew some gob over the Ravenclaw players. Don't worry, Eagles, it's washable. Nonetheless, Snakes win the point and the round, tying up the match so far. using Incendio |
Professor Hadley glanced back and forth between two-thirds of the she-snakes, making sure they weren't using any cheating methods. Not that she suspected they would, because they both tended to be talented students. One could never be too careful though, as smelly gob spewed out from the Gray Jack Stone, coating the eagles once again. Note: I also would have accepted other fire-summoning spell, such as Lacarnum Inflammare or Fiendfyre =) Quote:

Have the Venomous Snakes scared off the Witty Eagles? Who knows, as Miss Flores-Shepard rolls her stone and it lands rather near-perfect, earning the Snakes yet another point, and round. Quote:

Spoke too soon, because Prefect Carmicheal wasn't about to let his Eagles go down without a fight. Tossing a perfectly rolled stone onto the pit, the Jack Stone took its turn of spewing gob out onto Snakes. With this back and forth between the two houses, both houses were going to wind up saturated in smelly gob! Quote:

But don't turn your back for too long Ravenclaws . . . Miss Evelyn takes another shot, as her stone rolls toward the Jack Stone. The Ravenclaw Prefect isn't about to let his guard down again though, as he takes a turn. But the Green stone is just a few millimeters closer, tying up the round and moving us to a tie-breaker question . . . Again. Quote:

Switching spell; Fanged Geranium |
Professor Hadley took another sweep around the Gobstones table, checking to make sure no one was fooling the Jack Stone. And then from her peripheral vision, she spotted a blue stone rolling fast toward the Jack Stone in the center and managing to stop just prior to hitting the large stone. "Um?" Oh. Who knew that Mister Clumsy, Fainting Captain could roll a gobstone?! Ravenclaw wins the round, as his stone knocked Miss She-Snake's stone out of the court. Quote:
