Muggle Studies Lesson 1

The Muggle Studies Classroom has not been majorly altered and is therefore a rather simple, plain classroom. With additional pillows on each of the chairs - one might add - to improve the comfort of the students.

Upon entering the room, you find Professor Zookara sitting on the edge of his desk, probably smiling at you. Please take a seat and get ready for class, the first Muggle Studies lesson of the term will start momentarily.

Viky walked slowly into thr classroom and smiled at the Proffessor... oh, it was the dude she gave cake to! 'Morning Proffessor' she said with a smile, and then looked around. Oh, she was the first student there. That'd never happened before, she was usually the last one in. 'How're you today?' she asked as she sat down, dumping her bag on the floor and setting her books on the table.

Calezilla 09-19-2010 04:27 PM

......muggle studies eh? Savannah liked this class considering she grew up around muggles. This class was easy, as easy as it could get in her eyes. The tall blonde wandered into the classroom with a frown on her face, she had a problem with this lesson one that was was sure she would work out with the new professor.

Her problem? She wasn't allowed to wear heels during this lesson! What was she supposed to do? Wear flats? Yeah, that wasn't going to happen. Savvy went against what she was told to do and wear heels anyway, it wouldn't be too much of a fuss, right?

Savannah walked into the classroom, first looking around for Aiden and then sighing. She was the only one here so far, her eyes shifted back up to the professor, smiling.

Uhmmmm.....HELLO.

He was a cutie, a cutie professor. GIGGLE. Savannah smiled at him for a moment and then sat down, she was unsure if she should ask about her shoes now or not? Meh, maybe he would notice them and call her out? Savvy didn't know nor really care.

All she knew was that she wasn't wearing flats.

"Hello Professor, lovely day isn't it?"Savannah said, sitting down.

PatInTheHat 09-19-2010 04:30 PM

Muggle Studies with no Sir Lawson. This was gonna be about as weird as the first Creatures lesson. Maybe more cause she didn't even know who the new professor was. This new professor probably didn't even give the students candy......but maybe they would still allow her to eat candy in the lesson. Hmm.

Skipping into the classroom, unsure of what to expect, her curious eyes glided around the room. A grin splitting across her face when she spotted the pillows on the chairs. It wasn't candy, but it was still cool. "Hey, professor!" Her eyes danced over to the man perched on his' desks edge. "How are you?" Whoo are you?

Tossing her bag on the floor beside a desk in the front, she slide into the seat, picking up the pillow as she did and giving it a good snuggle!squeeze.

Lottiepot 09-19-2010 04:30 PM

There was no denying how stupidly awkward Trixie felt RIGHT NOW! She was looking forward to this lesson, there was no doubt about that and she'd be a good Swotty little student and listen to everything he said.. Blah..Blah but she didn't feel comfortable. She came there anyway, arriving at the classroom with a genuine smile and then taking one glance around the room before choosing to make her usual announcement.

"Hello...." Biiiiiiig pause.

Oh goodness. They were in a classroom so what was she meant to call him now? It would seem strange to automatically call him Jeremy, but even weirder to call him Professor. "Erm...." she looked at him and blinked for a few seconds, trying to telepathically receive an answer but instead kind of just shuffled over to a seat right at the front. Who could blame her?

Ahh jeez this was worse then she had expected.

Aha! Muggle Studies for the win!

Treyen practically ran through the door, it would've hurt if he'd actually done it, and with a smile on his face he entered the classroom. "Professor Zookara! Good day, Sir!" he said, almost, almost resisting the urge to call him 'Ducks'.

Speaking of....lookit! On the chairs, hahaha...Ducky pillows. AWESOME! (if you liked ducks, and even if you did, would you like to sit on one?)

He noticed a familiar face in the room, and went straight ahead towards the Huffie girl, "Hey Arya! Nice duckies, no?" eyes on the pillow, but, did he have to sit on it?

Destiny 09-19-2010 04:41 PM

Booooo!

Destiny was not looking forward to this class, no she was not. Muggle Studies would not be the same with Lawson gone, and she doubted this new Professor would allow her to bother him the whole lesson. Not fun at all.

Moping her way into the classroom, her bag dragging on the floor behind her, she noticed the new Professor sitting on his desk and smiling. Pffft. It was no time to smile. "Hello, Professor." she mumbled as she passed him.

She made her way to the middle of the classroom, and finding an empty seat, she resisted the urge to pick the pillow up and throw it at the new guy's head. It wasn't his fault Lawson was gone, after all. But still, it would be amusing. Maybe after class she'd accidentally throw it.

For now, she was going to be good. Not that she was bad or anything.

Canoir Greengrass 09-19-2010 04:42 PM

Freya walked into the Muggle Studies classroom. She looked around and saw a few students already there. "Hello Professor." she greeted the man. She then moved towards her seat. She noticed there were pillows on each chairs. The pillow was so adorable. A smile appeared in her face. "What an adorable pillow you have here, Professor" she said smiling.

Emzily 09-19-2010 04:43 PM

Ella wandered rather joyously to the Muggle Studies classroom, feeling optimistic. This lesson wasn't one of her best subjects, which is why she was eager to knuckle down and learn more. After all, to her, an iPod was called a 'Muggle-Music-Box'... Ahem.

She smiled at the new professor upon entering the room. OOH, she liked the fluffy pillows! As she sat on one near the middle of the classroom, she got out her things and looked up. "Hi sir! How are you today?"

BEAM.

Professor Zookara? That was his name?

That got a small giggle out of Arya. Reminded her of the zoo. Maybe he should have taught creatures. Though if the lesson was anything like some of her previous muggle studies lessons, this class would be like a zoo. So maybe he was in the right place.

"Awesome duckies!" She responded with a grin, giving her ducky another snuggle!squeeze. "Hey Treyen!" She looked at the huffie questioningly. "Ya gonna sit?" Cause the ducks didn't bite.

Hollister 09-19-2010 04:52 PM

When Jack walked into the Muggle Studies classroom, he completely ignored everything that was in the room except for the pillows on the chairs. Were they supposed to sit on it? It had a face! It was a duck! Not that Jack didn't mind sitting on it, he was sure it was quite comfy no doubt, but he raised an eyebrow at the professor anyway, and then adding a "Professor." with a nod. Strange guy with his duck pillows.

What Jack thought of next was how he had read quite a bit first before coming to the lesson. Now, he wouldn't normally do that, but Jack knew that Muggle Studies would be his weakest subject, as it wasn't regarded as something to be taught in his family, even if he found it to be interesting. Jack sat down at some random desk, thankful that the pillow didn't make a 'quack!' noise, as he feared that it may do, and leaned back slightly.

Zoom 09-19-2010 04:58 PM

Leilani entered the room and smiled at the Proffesor. Wait, who was this?! ... Whaaaa??

"Hello Proffesor." She said, and smiled as though she knew what she was talking about. Yeeeah, she'd just have to wait and figure out his name as they went along. Psh, it couldn't be that hard.

Leilani took a seat near the front and set her bag down between her feet. Yaaaay for Muggle Studies!!

Er, he will, eventually. But really, did he have to sit on the duck? It was...strange. Even for a Lockhart.

Everyone seemed to be doing the same, except Arya?

Well, clearly, they weren't going to study fluffy animals in the classroom, and they weren't going to study ducks either, as much as the Professor probably wanted to.

He eyed the ducky pillow once more.

And then at Arya, "Yeah, of course" and he did, he took a seat, on his very comfortable chair. Haha. He was seating on a duck. Not a real one, of course, because that would be cruel, but...yeah.

Lauralicious 09-19-2010 05:19 PM

Fee walked happy to the Muggle studies classroom.
She was excited for this lesson.
But then she got the thought of Kita.
Were was she?!
Fee really missed her bestie. Eeep.
As she walked further into the classroom she looked out for a free seat.
She approached a familiar looking blonde girl and sat down next to her.
"Hey Freya Babe"

Arya was tempted to rest her head on the duck!pillow while waiting for Treyen to take a seat. She didn't see what was taking him so long. The ducks weren't real, so they didn't bite.

"Awesome." She grinned at the boy when he finally took a seat......on his duckie. It finally dawned on her that everyone was sitting on their duckie pillow except her. Heh.

Oh well.....she'd rather snuggle it anywayz.

Marie was not looking forward to going to this class now. Muggle Studies without Lawson was not right. Lawson had been the only reason she ever came to this class before. He always put up with her attitude and moody behaviors and now he was gone... GONE, never to teach here again. Was this new Professor going to put up with her attitude the way Lawson had? Probably not, which would make this class... not fun.

Sloooooly dragging herself into the class she spots the new Professor sitting on Laws... his desk. It's just wrong, that desk was made for Lawson, not some other guy. "Hello... Professor" she hesitantly says as she walks past him... without giving eye contact.

Finding Destiny in the middle of the room she makes her way over to her only to find pillows on the chairs. Really? Did this guy think they would like him just because he gave them silly looking duck pillows to sit on? Pfft, it's gonna take more than a pillow to get Marie to like this guy... like maybe him saying he got Lawson to come back. Taking that goofy pillow off her seat she sat down. "Here, you can have this pillow, I don't want it," she said as she put the pillow on Destiny's desk.

Oh good.

Marie was in class and now Destiny had someone to mope along with. Giving her friend a small smile, she sat down right on top of the (omg) DUCK pillow, that way she wouldn't be able to throw it at the Professor.

Just as she settled down in her seat, her desk was bombarded with another pillow. Marie was such a sourpatch sometimes. "But Marie!" she whined, picking up the pillow and cuddling it against her chest, "It's a DUCK!"

Freya just put her book in her desk when someone calling her name. She looked up and saw Fee sat down next to her. "Hey Fee." she smiled. "Do you like the duck pillow?" she asked still admiring the pillow. It's so fluffy.

Ivy Nienna 09-19-2010 05:51 PM

Ivory was holding her judgement on this class. As her feet led her into the classroom, she was as neutral as could be, determined to miss Lawson that is until she saw the duckie pillows.

"Hello Professor!"Smiling, she grabbed one up hugging it to herself as she sat herself down next to her best friend. Where ducks were concerned, the class had to be good.

That was so girly.Again.

Brant walked into class, excited This is the class he wanted to go N.E.W.T in. It was a new Professor this year and Brant was eager to meet his professor. "Hello Sir, Im Brant DeVaice, I'll be taking N.E.W.T in this class." he said while smiling at the professor.

Roselyn 09-19-2010 06:19 PM

Ehhhh.

She didn't know why she was still going to this class. For one, she hated it ad it was one of her worst subjects and two, Lawson wasn't teaching it anymore. This was LAWSON'S territory! Someone was STEALING it! Besides...What fun was it when the professor had no guarantee of letting you off the hook of punishment the first several times? Yea, no fun at all.

Walking into the classroom, the first thing she noticed were the pillows. The duck...pillows. Hehe that was something Lawson would do in his crazy times...but the meaning behind it was probably completely different! Pfffft! Raising a brow, she moved around one rather fluffy pillow sitting in a seat before going over to Marie and Destiny. If she would have known that they were using pillows today, she'd have brought her own. Meh? Smiling Professor?! "Good day, Professor."

Smiling. See if he's smiling after this lesson.

BanaBatGirl 09-19-2010 06:19 PM

Fletcher strolled into Muggle Studies and froze for a moment, horrified at the sight of bright yellow fluffy pillows on all the chairs. Was this guy for real, sitting ducks out for people to sit on? Was he even a guy?!??!!

The boy shook his head and made his way to a chair that didn't look quite so fluffy and gross. He sat down stiffly, a look of disgust wrinkling his nose, and tried not to move around on the pillow so much.

Adam thought that the most interesting class he could attent was Muggle Studies. Since he was one and lived with two at home, he would not be able to have the chance to anaylize how a non magical person lives, and why they think in such ways. He was gonna find out so many interesting aspects about himself. He wondered if any other muggle wizard or witches would show up also.

Steelsheen 09-19-2010 06:31 PM

Professor GL, and the two Caspians :P

Salander strode into the First!Floor classroom, looking forward to possibly the only class that he was confident enough not to look stupid in. He gave the Professor a small salute with his fingers ''Greetin's Chief" and gave Fletcher a friendly clap on the shoulder....

Then did a double take. Was that Fletcher? Because he was seeing two of them!

He blinked. Great, the GlitterPuff couldnt get enough of himself so he has to go about getting a doppleganger? He shook his head. A world full of Fletchers.... what will it come to then?

As he lowered his messenger bag next to his desk, he had to pause as he looked at the bright yellow duck pillows. Huh. Shrugging, he plopped himself down comfortably onto his seat and waited for classes to begin.

Kris 09-19-2010 06:43 PM

Alex walked into the classroom slowly. Well at least this didn't seem to be altered much she thought as she sat down somewhere in the back away from majority of people. She sat her bag on the floor and glanced around. "Hello Professor." Alexandrie greeted a little hesistantly, not sure what to make of the new Professor yet.

Wonderstruck 09-19-2010 06:49 PM

Alice walked into the room and looked for an open seat somewhere in the middle of the room. Once she found one, and had a good view of Professor Zookara, she went to sit down but stopped when she noticed the pillow. Alice examined it....oh my god it was a duck pillow! She shifted her bag off of her shoulder, setting it gently on the floor, and picked up the pillow. Oh my heavens she loved it!

Alice sat down on the chair and held the pillow in her lap so that the head end was facing her. Already she could tell she was going to love this class. How could you not love a class with duck pillows?!

Alice looked up at Professor Zookara and gave a small wave. "Hi Professor Zookara," Alice said with a smile, not sure if he would remember meeting her in his office or not. "I love these pillows!"

Gryffindorgurl 09-19-2010 06:49 PM

Amber trudged into the Muggle Studies classroom, her shoes still wet from the flying lesson earlier that day. Stupid mop. But she put on a smile for the new professor and said, "Morning, professor!" before sitting down at one of the tables. She GIGGLE!snorted when she saw the duck pillows, almost not noticing that Brant was here. When she did notice however, she smiled and waved in his direction, feeling her cheeks get a little warm. AUGG! Stupid pale skin!

Yay! People started arriving. So he would actually have students attending his class. Well, it would have been a little difficult otherwise...obviously. "Why hello there." First student!!! Take that, Mar- ...nevermind.

"Why I'm quite good, how about yourself?" He was more than quite good actually, he was REALLY excited for this first lesson of his. And there were people arriving...more people...students...eager students...well, hopefully.

Hadn't they been quite clear? "Hello, Miss ...?" He raised his eyebrow at her, expecting her to fill in the gap he had just left.

A small smirk flashed across his lips as he pointedly glanced down at her HIGH-HEELS. Something told him she had read the instructions. And understood them too. "Yes, very lovely." Jeremy finally replied, meeting her eyes once again. Well, he had just the perfect pair of shoes for her to change into before they were going to move on to the practical part of the lesson.

Yes, just perfect. :shifty:

Or so he assumed. Well, duh.

"Hello, my dear." His mental list of names was going to be looooooooong after his first lessson. "I'm good, thanks. What about you?" He replied with a friendly smile, his American accent quite obvious in his tone.

Awww, did she just hug the pillow?!

Though, he was not going to ask her about her teenage-boy-problems right now. There was a time and place for everything and right now, right here was not it.

Hello erm? What a nice way to say hello. Or something. "Hello Trixie." Jeremy greeted her with a grin, which faltered slightly as she just stood there for a moment, staring at him. Was something wrong? Raising his eyebrows at her questioningly, his hazel eyes followed her as she took a seat at the very front.

Awkward much?

The thought of their last meeting reminded him of something, though. "Oh, and Treyen-" Jeremy addressed the boy again as he made his way towards one of the girls in the room. One of those he DIDN'T know the name of. Wait, now he did know. Arya, was it? "-would you mind staying a little longer after class? I got a reply from my brother." He'd know what about, right?

And he liked the pillows too!!

Oh, another boy. How nice. Now at least he had two already. Not missing the look the boy gave him, Jeremy raised an eyebrow at the boy as well in a Something wrong? sort of way. "Hi." Was all he replied. Well, what else was there to say? 'Student'?

She smiled at the new professor upon entering the room. OOH, she liked the fluffy pillows! As she sat on one near the middle of the classroom, she got out her things and looked up. "Hi sir! How are you today?"

BEAM.

Leilani took a seat near the front and set her bag down between her feet. Yaaaay for Muggle Studies!!

And more girls who were interested in Muggles. The fact that there were more and more students entering the classroom, made his grin become even more intent than it had been before. And at least one of them complimented the pillows. Griiin!

"Hello girls." Jeremy greeted them with a smile and a small wave. "The lesson will start soon, just settle in until then." And with a wink he added, "And yes, you may talk to your neighbor until then too." Because they were GIRLS after all. And girls liked to talk.

As she walked further into the classroom she looked out for a free seat.
She approached a familiar looking blonde girl and sat down next to her.
"Hey Freya Babe"

Oh, no greeting there? How rude! "A good day to you too, Miss ...?" If there was one thing Jeremy didn't like then it was being ignored. Raising his eyebrows at the girl who took a seat next to another girl, he truely pondered whether he was allowed to take points for this.

Probably not, right? Bleh.

Oh, those girls looked happy to be here. Not. It wasn't his fault they were unhappy, was it? Frowning slightly Jeremy didn't reply at first when the girls passed him, with a mumbled greeting. At least they had greeted him, unlike other people...

"Hello." He finally ended up replying as both of them had already taken a seat and one of them...had put the pillow on the desk. "You can have a 'normal' one if you want to." He more like forced himself to offer, repeatedly telling himself that it probably didn't have anything to do with him anyway. Just the usual hormonal-teenage-girl-syndrome probably.

Hopefully. Something told him it wasn't though.

At least this one was smiling. Improving his slightly dampened mood immensely. "Hello to you too." He gave the girl a grin, determined not to let the foul mood of those three girls get him down. Plus, she liked the ducks. So he liked this girl. It was as easy as this. At least until he got to know them better.

The boy shook his head and made his way to a chair that didn't look quite so fluffy and gross. He sat down stiffly, a look of disgust wrinkling his nose, and tried not to move around on the pillow so much.

Oh, another one who had a problem. A huge one apparently, at least judging by the look on his face. It was downright...horrified. And following the direction of his gaze it was because of the pillows. Jeez! Couldn't he cool it down a little? He hadn't suggested that they had to knit some themselves, had he?

A little annoyed by how he had not been greeted AGAIN, Jeremy quickly pointed his wand at the pillow below the boy's behind and turned it into a different pillow. "That better? That manly enough for you?" He couldn't help but smirk a little, though it didn't quite reach his eyes.

Talking of names. Another one he already knew. His hazel eyes followed Alice as she took a seat...on top of the pillow of course. "Hi, Alice." And she LIKED them!! "Aww, why thank you. I do too." She GIGGLE!snorted when she saw the duck pillows, almost not noticing that Brant was here. When she did notice however, she smiled and waved in his direction, feeling her cheeks get a little warm. AUGG! Stupid pale skin!

Squish!Squash!Squish!Squash!

Jeremy's attention moved to the source of the squish!squashing which was obviously coming into his classroom. Yes, definitely. And the source turned out to be a girl. A girl with wet shoes. Well, at least she wasn't wearing high-heels like they had been told. "Hello. Wait...let me help you." So, without waiting for a reply, he directed his wand at her shoes, drying them so they wouldn't be leaving small water stains all over the classroom. "There you go."

Catching the wave the girl sent across the classroom he followed the direction it was sent and found himself looking at Brant...one of the Gryffindor Prefects. Wait...was the girl blushing? Aww.

Facing the classroom, Jeremy smiled at them all and said, "Thanks for coming. We'll just wait a few more minutes for some of those who got lost on the way to arrive." And then his first lesson was offically going to start!

Was that...were those...Jeremy followed the girl who had just entered the classroom with his eyes as made her way over to him. And smiled at him. Hadn't she read his instructions? Hadn't they been quite clear? "Hello, Miss ...?" He raised his eyebrow at her, expecting her to fill in the gap he had just left.

A small smirk flashed across his lips as he pointedly glanced down at her HIGH-HEELS. Something told him she had read the instructions. And understood them too. "Yes, very lovely." Jeremy finally replied, meeting her eyes once again. Well, he had just the perfect pair of shoes for her to change into before they were going to move on to the practical part of the lesson.

Yes, just perfect. :shifty:

Savannah's green eyes shifted around the room, waiting as more and more people poured into the classroom. There was still no sign of her boyfriend though, the seventh year pouted at the door. Oh? The professor was talking to her. Savannah turned around smiling a pretty smile his face.

"Savannah, sir, Savannah Conrad."Savannah said while smiling at him. There was a bit of innocence in her speech as well as her face, one that could make you think she was actually a nice and innocent girl. *snicker* She was far from it and Savannah knew it.

He was looking at her shoes. Hehhh. A smirk broke out on the blonde's face as she looked down at the green suede heels on her feet. They were cute and they matched her robes perfectly. She looked back up at him to see him staring at her shoes.

"Is there....like... a problem with my shoes, sir?"

GIGGLE.

Now she was playing dumb. Did she know what he was going to say? Mhm. She didn't follow the rules. Hehhh. She was such a rebel for you know, wearing high heels to class.

............."do you like....have a pink sparkly princess pillow by any chance?"

Huh. Hello. Staring at the duck on the seat with a blank expression, she took a moment to take note of its features, silently thinking over if it was deemed worthy or not for her to sit on. Nope. It wasn’t. Besides, she wasn’t about to sit on a duck pillow. That was ridiculous.

"I want a regular pillow, Professor...please." she muttered, turning her gaze over to the man as she picked up the duck pillow and threw handed it to him. Oops. Almost a slip of the hand there. Not only was she not going to be sitting on a duck pillow, that color yellow and orange so did not look good on her! It’s like he KNEW about that and decided to use those colors anyways.

Yea, she wasn’t going to go for it. Pfft. Not ending up in her good books as of yet, was he?

He was giving her NOTHING here. What was she meant to call him?

But just as Trix had reached into her bag to get her Quill out, she felt something in there, in the shape of a duck. With a broom. OMG It was Quidditch Duck! Flip she had forgotten to give it to him before the lesson.

Err what was she meant to do? She couldn't exactly just walk up and plonk it on him, the other students would probably think her mad. She could strategically try to get his attention before the actual lesson started. Like Psst Jeremy.... But then she would probably look even more stupid. Ah what the heck she was like right at the front anyway.

"Prof.... Jeremy... Whichever name I am supposed to call you in class" Trixie lowered her lice and tone a bit so she wasn't heard. "I was...away...over the weekend" she started. "With my parents and we found this" she passed over Quidditch Duck. Not only was it Quidditch but it was a Fitchburg Finches duck as well. Goodness knows how they found it but still....

Now back to the lesson.....

Vashti was laaaaate! She was racing down the hallways, dodging students and praying that she actually wouldn't be late. She just couldn't be late for a class. Never had been and didn't plan on changing that any time soon. But stupid her had lost track of the time and only realized thirty seconds ago that Muggle Studies was supposed to start soon. So she'd run, run, run down six floors to get to the first floor where the classroom was.

And, finally, she'd reached the classroom door. Pleaseeee, don't start class yet...

Pausing at the entrace, Vashti tried to catch her breath and peer in to see if her silent plea had somehow managed to work. It didn't seem like anything was happening, just every sitting around and stuff. Maybe she wasn't late after all.

"I'm not...late...am I, Professor?" she asked between breaths, praying the answer was no. Gah, running was just not for her. Why did flying brooms inside have to be against the rules?

Grrr..Meow 09-19-2010 07:47 PM

"Oh thanks Professor, I love this class. This term is a little bit different because there is no quidditch this term." he told the professor for he was a new addition for the staff."I was quidditch Captain for the past two years. Its a bit hard for my last year not to have quidditch." he said while smiling.

"How are you enjoying being a professor, Sir?"

Leilani nodded, giving him a smile.

GAAAAHH!! What was him naaaaame?!?! ... Zookara huh? Alrighty then. Weird. Heh. His name was weirder than hers. Ha! Right, yeah... they were allowed to talk. Good to know. psh, it wasn't like she knew anybody or anything. Talking wouldn't be something she did much of. Unless Monty or Jimbo happened to be around... Heh.

Leilani watched as Proffesor Zookara greeted the other students as they came in. Yay, people.

Savannah Conrad!

Rae had entered the Muggle Studies classroom, to her it was the most boring subject ever. With a glance over at Marie, Evelyn, and Destiny, Rae knew what was up. She decided not to sit with them, they will be all gloomy and depressing. Fletcher was sitting with Salander and someone that looked kinda like Fletcher. Of course, Rae knew the difference full well. She found the closest empty seat and walked towards it. On her way she said "Hello Professor....." She didn't know his name, but maybe Muggle studies will be better if she started it off with a better attitude this year right? As she neared the seat she saw that she would be sitting next to a seventh year... What was her name?

"I don't need your a pillow." she said to the professor when he told her she could have a normal one. No she didn't want a normal pillow either. She was perfectly fine sitting on her chair without a pillow. Normal pillow or not it was still not going to make her like him any more.

And then Evelyn asked for a normal pillow. Really, did the girl have to fall into his trap? Rolling her eyes at her friend she crossed her arms over her chest and sat back and pouted some more.

Maybe if she closed her eyes she could pretend Lawson was still there.

Nope, not working.

*pout*

Oliver LOVED this class because, it was usually pretty easy when you'd lived in the muggle world for the first decade of your life. He practically bounced into the classroom. “Hello, sir.” He said jovially with a grin to the new professor and then took a seat next to Trixie!Pixie who was busy gawking at a weird looking duck... thing.

Right.

He frowned, puzzled and listened to her address the professor. Professor... Jeremy? o_O She KNEW this dude?

Not.

Oooh.. look! Pillows!

This duck was epic. That was all she could think about.

But her attention was quickly drawn away by the presence of someone sitting right down next to her. She turned to see it was Oliver so the Blonde grinned but faltered as she saw the look on his face.

He frowned a little. “I've been to most of 'em. Jus' been quiet is all.” Unusually quiet.

Prof GL, the 2 Caspians and a big wave to Rae!

Salander gave a quick wave to Rae he spotted her entering the classroom, then turned his head as he heard the Professor called him....

BlinkBlink

"Are you two related?" Or twins actually. Identical twins. Because they did look alike...a lot. O_o

Facing the classroom, Jeremy smiled at them all and said, "Thanks for coming. We'll just wait a few more minutes for some of those who got lost on the way to arrive." And then his first lesson was offically going to start!

..... minion? That sounded so sinisteroooo....

But then again, anybody with Yellow!Duck Pillows must have some kind of weird evil split personality lurking in there somewhere.

He turned his head at Hufflepuff!Fletcher and Slytherin!Fletcher when the Professor asked if they were related "Yeah, are you two related?" he wondered, because one GlitterPuff was enough trouble for the Slytherin, let alone two.

Savannah Conrad didn't like this.

"My boyfriend's supposed to sit there."The blonde said, flatly. Savvy eyed the younger student. Savvy looked down at her shoes for a moment, the green suede ones and back at the younger student. This girl was probably a 4th year? Maybe even 5th year? Eh, Savvy was bad with ages.

Wow, very girly... Rae took one look at her and knew that she wouldn't belong here. Rae was not girly in the least bit, has never worn a pair of heels in her life, and didn't own more than 3 outfits. "Right." Maybe she should've looked more closely before choosing the closest seat. Rae turned to look at what other seats were empty.. Looking.. Looking.. Looking.

AHA! Salander waved at her! Even if she had passed them on her way in, she doubled back to them once she heard the question of Fletcher and the other kid being related... What? "Of course they aren't! Can't you tell?" Duh! Sure they might have something similar but they didn't look related! Not to Rae at least, for she could easily see which one was Fletcher... By far.

Oh they were whispering now?

"Since I've known him....And dont ask me how long that was for because honestly? I have no idea" she whispered back to the Head Boy. That was the truth!

Trix looked over at the wrapped up duck and then back at Oliver. He HAD been in lessons?

:O

"I must be incredibly unobservant then" she bit her lip slightly. Ah well. This lesson should be fun then shouldn't it?

What a sweet innocent girl. Or at least that's what she was trying to sell herself to be. Which normally meant she wasn't. Not that he had prejudices of course. So not. "Why no, Savannah. I'm sure you don't mind changing them later, of course." Because she wouldn't right? Right. She would SO mind. A smirk played around his lips as he started to turn away from her until...

O_o

"A pink sparkly princess pillow?" Right, he slept on one. Pfft. Did he honestly look like somebody who had a pink sparkly princess pillow? "No, sorry, you may bring your own for next time, though." Or he would get her one...and extra sparkly, glittery one.

Wow, he had even got a please from the girl. How nice. Maybe there actually wasn't any hostility in the air between them after all. Yeah, right. Snort. The way she practically threw the pillow at him had hostility written all over it. Only why?!

With a sigh, he chose not to actually SAY anything but simply send a different pillow the girl's way. And no, he didn't quite look where exactly he was sending it (maybe her face?). And yes, he was being ironic by giving her one with a smiling face on it.

Obviously.

At the sound of his name - his FIRST name - Jeremy turned his hazel eyes back to whoever had said it out loud...of course, Trixie. And she wasn't sure what she was supposed to call him? Awkward. "Whichever you prefer." Because he couldn't mind less to be honest.

A present?! From Sam? Well, not a present apparently but more something of a left-over they had found. Whatever it was, it had to wait. For after class. "Thanks, Trixie. I'll open it later, okay?"

A little surprised Jeremy automatically caught the package which was tossed his way, Chaser-instints for sure. What WAS that?! Blinking down at the package for a moment, he slowly placed it on his desk. "Thank you." I guess. Unless it was a something dangerous or something.

He had known there would be late-arrivals. Or you know, not late because class hadn't started yet but still later. "No, you're not late. No worries." Jeremy replied with a grin towards the girl who looked out of breath. Gesturing towards the desks and chairs (and pillows) he added, "Please, take a seat." Because anybody arriving now, would be late.

Now, it was class-time. Finally. Despite a few pillow-problems and other problems, this was going to be exciting. Definitely. "Now, welcome to the first Muggle Studies lesson of the term." He raised his voice slightly, hopefully making it obvious that this was the end of his tolerating their chatter. "My name is Jeremy Zookara and obviously, I'll be your new Muggle Studies professor." Duh.

"Now, who of you likes to play Quidditch?" Yes, Quidditch was always a good way to start a lesson. Even if - obviously - it wasn't about Quidditch. "Let me know which position play, too. Alice stared at Professor Zookara...here they went with that Quidditch thing again. What in the world was Quidditch? Alice had been meaning to ask someone what it was, since people were somewhat disappointed that it was going to be cancelled this year, but she had forgotten.

Deciding this was probably going to point out very obviously that she grew up in a muggle home, Alice raised her hand. "Um, professor," Alice whispered, hoping that no one else noticed. "What exactly is Quidditch?"

Trix grinned and nodded, didn't want to distract the class now did we? So she stopped talking to her Bestie and listened to the Professor talking. She'd call him Jeremy. It made her sound strange but still, it was epic.

Blah Blah. Yes she knew his name, but still she listened intently and then raised her hand at his question.

"Erm...I'm guessing I don't have to say my name and..." she looked at Oliver, he was her captain last year. What should she say? She was bloomin violent in Quidditch that's what she was. "Well I prefer Chaser. But I've played Beater too..." she replied. Should she continue with saying how rough she was with a bat or let Oliver insert whatever he liked? He knew the best at how good she was at venting frustration with a bat....and a fist apparently... Oh and occasionally a cricket ball.

*Whistle*

noodles 09-19-2010 08:49 PM

Oliver opened his mouth about to reply to Trixie when the lesson started. He gave her a look and turned his head to look at Jeremy.. *cough* Professor Zookara - Cool name though.

Quidditch!?

The Head Boy smiled and raised his hand. “Sir I was Slytherin Captain last year. I'm an awesome Chaser... but I've played all positions.” But he was no Keeper.. as the lossage of the cup to Hufflepuff indicated last year. Blehhhhh.

Moving on..

"Oh, and I'm Greenwood. Oliver Greenwood."
James Bond stylie.

Why were they talking about Quidditch in Muggle Studies? Hmm...

Nope. From time to time he would watch Quidditch, if he knew some of the people who were playing, but Kellen wasn't really a fan of it. Something about clinging to a broom while people hit things at you... more fun to watch, for sure.

Daisy raised her hand, "My name is Daisy elizabeth Rohdes and yes I like to play Quidditch. My two favorite positions are chaser and beater." Yep, but the Tri-Wizard tourament put a stop to all her chances of playing this term.

She liked Muggle Studies. A lot. Probably because it wasn't a load of jibberish to her like .. Arithmancy or Potions. Not to mention the fact that she genuinely liked the Professor.
Ooooooh! Quidditch. That was fuuuuun! 'Cept obviously for the fact that they didn't have it this year *pout*

She didn't say her name like the Gryffjndor before her just, "Beater. Always Beater." Shame she'd never struck up the courage to play.

brelovesweasleys 09-19-2010 08:56 PM

Rae tried playing quidditch, last year... She couldn't play quidditch to save her life. So Rae couldn't answer, that sucks... So much for starting off the class with a good attitude, including participation. Rae couldn't participate... Wait.. Why was this about quidditch anyways? Weren't they in Muggle studies? maybe this wont be so bad after all...

Why was Rae so indecisive?

It was too late to do that though. Class had begun.

Sighing, she plopped the pillow on her desk and set her bag down next to her chair before sitting down herself, slouching in the seat slightly. Pfft. Without Lawson here, this was just another boring class that she didn't really need to take. What the heck kind of job was she going to do in the future that involved muggles?

NOTHING! That's what.

However, she had to admit...he started off the class with a rather nice subject. Quidditch! Anything BUT muggle related. "Evelyn Flores-Shepard." she said, raising her hand. If it was quidditch related, then she'd answer the question. "I prefer the position of chaser, though I don't mind any of the other positions." Mmhmm, her father taught her well. It was a shame she hadn't really played the game in over eight years though. She'd need to practice over the summer.

Oh thank Merlin. Vashti might've cried or something if she turned out to be late and lost house points. The very thought of it depressed her. Quickly taking the nearest seat up front, her hand shot up almost the second the professor had asked about Quidditch.

"I do!" she answered with a bright grin, all thoughts of tardiness and house point loss out of her mind. "I play Chaser mostly, but I've been a Beater before too." But Chaser was definitely her favorite of the two.

Oh wait, he'd asked for their name too. "Oh, and my name's Vashti." Should she add her last name? Probably. "Greenwell."

Louisa was feeling extra comfortable on these pillows which meant she was in a REALLY happy mood today. She even thought about bouncing on them for a bit before the class started getting serious... but nah the professor has already asked something.

She almost jumped up raising her hand, "Louisa Carter. I love to play Quidditch, sir. I never tried but I hoped that I would this year... but, you know, I was disappointed with the tournament thing." And the older students getting all the fun this year, Grr.. yeah she was not happy with that. Meh. She didn't want to ruin her fluffy-mood with that. Aaaah, nice pillows.

Staaaaaaaaaaaaare!

Alice didn't know what Quidditch was?! Blinking at her for a moment Jeremy turned to the class instead and ignored all the raised hands for a moment. "Can anybody explain to young Alice here what Quidditch is?" Because they were supposed to help each other...he was actually quite surprised that nobody had explained it to her yet.

Daisy rasied her hand even higher,"Quidditch is played on brooms." Obviously. "There are seven players for each team. Three chasers, two beaters, a keeper, and a seeker." She noddded. "It's the beaters job to keep the bludgers away from their team with wooden bats. The keepers job to block the three hoops so that the other team doesnt scare. The chasers are spposed to try and score for their own team with the Quaffle. The seeker has the most important job of all. They are suppose to catch the Golden Snitch. That's how the winner is usally determined. It's a really fun game," she said nodding,"but can be rough at times, like all the time." If that wasn't a good explanation then what was? Maybe she should've went into more details on the color and description of the balls?

Duh.

"Now, who of you likes to play Quidditch?" Yes, Quidditch was always a good way to start a lesson. Even if - obviously - it wasn't about Quidditch. "Let me know which position play, too. Having slipped into the classroom with a small smile and a slight wave in the Professor's direction, Trent had taken a seat at the back of the room. The pillow had been placed on the desk, and her bag under the table.

As the class began, her wrist cut through the air so that her hand was still and waiting. She waited for her turn and then smiled at the Professor. "Hi Professor. I'm Trent Parker. I play Quidditch, and prefer the role of Chaser, but have been known to play Seeker when I am needed too. Though, I have never played for Slytherin."

Magical Soul 09-19-2010 09:14 PM

Excuse the cockiness of Louisa XD

Wha...?? Someone didn't know what Quidditch was? Seriously? Louisa glanced at the not-educated-enough girl with disbelief. That girl wasn't a Ravenclaw! No way.. And she answered right away not missing a chance for herself to stand out, "Quidditch is sport. It has rules and special equipments." Heh where Louisa would start and where would she finish talking of this brilliant sport? That girl needed to read more.

Ooooooooooooooooooh

So now it suddenly dawned on her why the Professor was talking about Quidditch. Goodness she could be so SLOW sometimes. Yeah because it totally wasn't like he played for the Fitchburg Finches or anything [/Sarcasm] But still it didn't exactly have a lot to do with Muggle Studies did it?

Trix raised her hand to answer his question. HIS, was how he should be known for the moment so she didn't completely confuse herself. "It's a Wizarding Sport. Probably the biggest. In which one team verses the other... You get Professional and school teams. Even nationwide ones" Did he want full blown rules or was a simple explanation enough? And wasn't this question better suited for a flying lesson? "Basically you fly around on brooms and have you four positions. 3 chasers, 2 beaters, a keeper and a seeker on each team. Then you have your 3 balls, the Quaffle For the Chasers, Bludger for the beaters and then your Golden Snitch.." she continued. "The Chasers have to score goals through the hoops on either side of the pitch, your keeper defends the hoops stopping any goals being scored. Every goal is worth 10 points. Your beaters hit bludgers using a beaters bat away or towards the players depending on which team they are on and then your seeker, well they will chase after the Golden Snitch, a very fast small golden ball with wings. Once this is caught, your team gains 150 points and usually wins the game." And breath. "Lets just say however, Quidditch is not a game for the faint hearted." That was for sure.

Stormdancer 09-19-2010 09:23 PM

Nibbling her lip, Trent listened to the others explain what Quidditch was. "But sometimes the catching of the Snitch doesn't mean your team wins. Each goal scored with the Quaffle by your Chaser's is ten points. Catching the snitch gives your team a hundred and fifty points." Trent took a deep breath.

"That means that it is possible for the opposite team to win if they score more goals than the team who catches the snitch." She paused and looked at the Professor. "For instance if Team A has scored ten times and caught the snitch, then they would have 250 points. However, if Team B has scored twenty-six times, they would have 260 points and would win the game over Team A."

Kris 09-19-2010 09:24 PM

Alexandrie almost groaned at the question of Qudditch, she hated the sport.. and anything to do with flying since she had a slight fear of flying. So Alex kept her hand down and listened as everyone else talked, her head was beginning to ache as someone was explaining Qudditch... should they be taking notes on this Alex wondered.

noodles 09-19-2010 09:28 PM

Cam was a natural Beater? Figured. And it was also kinda... hawt? Oliver turned and and smirked at her, not having seen her when he entered the classroom. Redheaded!Siren!Girl was good at making herself invisible when she wanted to be...

Eh? That girl didn't know what QUIDDITCH was!? HEATHEN! It's just The. Most. Awesome. Game. like, everrr.. Still, she looked small... must have been a muggleborn firstie. How confusing for the poor wee girl.

He was about to tell her exactly just how awesome the sport was, when another girl piped up... and then Trixie.. and then ten million other kids. Well.. their explanations were A LOT better than his would have been.

Heh.

Lexers 09-19-2010 09:46 PM

Cam laughed - Trixie's response was enough for a pHD in the subject. She reckoned Alice would understand more than perfectly what it was now. A game, but an awesome game. And there was Oliver. There was no chance of her sitting next to those two. Her and Trix had just gotten the stage of being pleasant around one another. Better not to push her luck, right?

She poked her tongue put at the Head Boy as he smirked. Beating was stress relieving, hadn't he heard?

Scowling, she stared at him for a moment, before looking down to the pillow. Eh, she supposed it was alright. It could do with a different color change though.

Was it wrong that he felt the urge to smirk smugly? Probably yes, right? Which was why Jeremy managed to refrain from doing so. It wouldn't be appriopriate. He was a professor now, and not supposed to be smug about something like that. And he had sent the pillow the girl's face's way accidently. He hadn't been AIMING for her face.

So not.

Jeremy smiled at each of the students who answered to explain the concept of Quidditch. Now, hadn't been that difficult now had it? Only why they hadn't JUST answered it when Alice had asked was still a little hard to understand. "Thank you for the various explanations." Yes, various. Now Alice probably knew EVERYTHING about how Quidditch worked.

Turning to the girl in question he raised one eyebrow at her questioningly. "Did that answer your question?" He wanted to know with a friendly grin. Though, that question probably didn't need an answer. After Trixie's explanation Alice definitely knew every little detail about the game.

Oh wait, he'd asked for their name too. "Oh, and my name's Vashti." Should she add her last name? Probably. "Greenwell."

Daisy was about to say baseball, why else would a muggle use a beater bat? But then as she watched the professor throw t up and catch it she found a chill run down her spine, "Is todays lesson centered around clowns Professor?" She was terrified of clowns. Her dad had made them live in the muggle world for three years so she was versatile in the ways of the universe. "Or the things a clown does for their profession such as juggling?"

Magical Soul 09-19-2010 10:14 PM

Huh? Not about Quidditch... Aww that's sad. Louisa was raising her hopes here. A bat and a Muggle holding it.. of course she knew! She lived among muggles all of her life. She raised her hand excitedly, "Playing Baseball, Sir?" Smiling widely as she stared at the Professor.

noodles 09-19-2010 10:14 PM

Oliver smiled at Cam when she poked her tongue out at him. They so needed to go head to head on the Quidditch pitch sometime... although that wasn't going to happen in school now was it? Thanks to the Triwizard shizz.

Oliver eyed the Beater's Bat in Zookara's.. and then Trixie. Too many bad memories there what with Cricket balls, broken noses and Hospital Wings. <_<

He raised his hand. “Could be used for Baseball, sir.. or Rounders?”

To be honest, Ella's knowledge of Quidditch was lacking. Almost as much as that girl who didn't even know what it was. She would've just said 'two teams flying around on broomsticks'... or something along those lines. She eyed the Beater's Bat that the professor held up, and really had no idea what a Muggle would use it for? Squishing spiders? Whacking their enemies down? Or maybe the professor's juggling was a hint, and that's exactly what they did with the bats. Juggle them.

Errr, deciding that she'd look like a fool if she said that, she thought of something else and raised her hand reluctantly. "Do they play sports with it too? Just not Quidditch, obviously." But she knew that Bat's were used for hitting balls. So, maybe a Muggle ball game? Eh. Her answer was just common sense really. The Wizarding folk used it for a sport, so maaaybe the Muggles would too?

"Eli Jarod, second year 'claw, sir." Eli piped up. "I adore quidditch. I will probably be quite good one day; my father was legendary, and I already have a broom of a famous quidditch player." he beamed with pride. "A signed broom. I want to play all positions, haven't figured out which is best but will probably do as my father did."

Eli's hand shot up again. "That's a cricket bat, I do believe. They use it in muggle sports and also for beatings during muggle riots. Muggles have riot seasons where every year or so they get up a ruckus and beat on each other and loot, which is a muggle word that means breaking a window and stealing something." His stepfather had told him all about that. Eli was going to ace this class!

Shanners 09-19-2010 10:19 PM

Lori liked this Professor. For one, he had spoken about Quidditch AND.. well, you ask any other female what the other reason was. GO. AHEAD.

She hadn't mentioned she played Beater, but had nodded when some other people mentioned it. Yes. Beaters were awesome. INDEED.

At seeing the bat, she grinned a bit, and clapped her hands just lightly, before putting her hand in the air. "I dunno.. Muggle sports? Like that.. Rounders? Yeah. Rounders. OR.. You know, they might just be hate someone, and go and hit them with it." Which was incredibly mean.

Lottiepot 09-19-2010 10:19 PM

Hang on was she being eyed?

:O

"How about for aiming Cricket balls at certain Captains heads?" she smirked, battered her eyelashed innocently and then slowly turned her head to look at Oliver quickly. Oh yes she was gonna bring that up. Even if it was just for a laugh. And it could be a good use. You COULD want to aim a cricket ball at someones head. *Sigh* But she'd have to be serious wouldn't she? "Muggle Sports" she grinned. "Like some have said, baseball" she continued.

Hang on...Wait. They were using bats.

*Evil Grin*

A part of Vashti knew this lesson couldn't possible be about Quidditch - it was Muggle Studies after all and Muggles didn't play Quidditch - but she couldn't help getting her hopes up anyway. So of course she was sad when the professor admitted the lesson had nothing to do with Quidditch. Sigh.

But what Muggles sports used a bat? Oh yes, she knew this one, though she had never been extremely fond of most Muggle sports. Despite being Muggle-born. "Muggles play baseball with a bat," she answered after raising her hand. "Or cricket."

hermygirl 09-19-2010 10:25 PM

Nia raised her hand. "Rounders?" she answered with a grin. She'd loved that at a youngster, and if this was as close as she was gonna get to Quidditch, she was going to seize the opportunity. "Or a if you varied the wooden bat a bit it could be used for cricket, or croquet, or table tennis..."

She looked thoughtful. Whatever, it'd burn some excess energy she had from not having Quidditch practice. Oh yes, she so wanted to play.

B~Lee 09-19-2010 10:25 PM

The first thing that came to mind was that of baseball when she seen the bat. She grew up in the muggle world so she knew all to well what that was about. She felt everyone had given her suggestion enough so she kept her hand down and waited to see if they were indeed going to play baseball... or at least learn about it because she definetly didnt know what rounders was?

Roselyn 09-19-2010 10:28 PM

Baseball? Cricket?

She knew what baseball was sorta but..."They had an insect game?" Unless, the bugs were the one to be playing with those bats. OR, the muggles hit the crickets with the bats.

...that still made no sense. How was that a game?

"They hit people things with it." Obviously. Right?! Not just little round white balls in that baseball game. It could be used as a self defense thing. Mmhmm, she remembered that defense class in first year. First year was it right? They didn't use bats, but they could totally be used if it was nearby and someone was trying to rob you.

Aha! Treyen was supposed to stay after class. Grin. Perhaps his brother would've offer some enlightenment? Hopefully.

The boy nodded and then missed the chance to answer the previous question. Frown.

But this was a new one....he knew! Treyen raised his hand before answering. "Well, they also hit balls with it, except those balls don't have a mind of their own. They play baseball with that bat" aha, aha, a nod to his precious golden-brown hair.

"Apparently so, hm?" Jeremy mused, still with that slightly amused smirk plastered across his face. Why would he have princess pillows after all? Again, did he look like somebody who carried around princess pillows? "How about I'll take one along next time...under one condition." His eyes twinkled in amusement slightly as he continued, "You change your shoes to flat ones later." Yes, she should have seen this coming.

O_____o

They were talking about sports, Savannah knew nothing about sports. She knew that most sports had a ball but that was about it. Savvy eyed the seat next to her, the empty one, and pouted. No sign of Ai-Ai.

Cricket?

"What's a cricket....?"Dude, she grew up around muggles and didn't even know what a cricket was. Hehh. She was looking around the room, hoping for an answer.

Aha, Zookara or whatever his name was, was speaking to her again.

The blonde turned towards him, her hair flopping in her face. She quickly flipped it out of her face before smiling at him, she was still playing that innocent act. "Uhmmmm.....yeah..."

Savannah Conrad didn't like this man even if he was a cutie.

"I'm not changing into flat shoes, sorry."Was she sorry? No, not really. She just REALLY didn't want to wear flats they made her walk full and she just didn't like them in general. Savvy clutched onto the duck pillow, smirking at him.

Hehhhh. She was going to have fun with this professor.

"well if it is a beatters bat it will be short for base ball not much of a strike zone ,so it could be use for somthing like T-ball ,and i would rather do the who's on first routine then explain all the rules of base ball..... dont even want to think about the infield fly rule"

Trent raised an eyebrow as she looked at the Professor... Who she could look at all day if she was allowed. He was rather dashing. The Slytherin resisted the urgh to giggle. "Muggle's could... hit things... play sports... juggle... beat people up... vandalise property..." Trent knew she was being vague but apart from what she had already learnt in Muggle Studies, there wasn't much she knew about Muggles in general.

Alice had never felt her cheeks turn so red in her entire life. How could her mother not have explained these things to her? She might have well have been a complete muggle born since her mother was not making any effort to tell her anything about this world.

"Yes, that explained it very well thanks," Alice said, shrinking deeper into her chair. "A muggle could use a bat for baseball," Alice offered quietly.

Marie sat there listening to what everyone thought that stupid bat could be used for in the muggle world. It was rather obvious to her. It was for beating those idiot muggles that annoyed you... or not. From the sounds of everyones answers the thing was used for some sort of muggle sport.

Sports!

Why did they have to talk about sports in here? Don't muggles do anything besides play blasted sports? If that's all they did she was glad she was a witch because she hated sports. Unless of course she was watching Carter play quidditch.

Leilani raised her hand and gestured to the bat. "Well you could like... hit somebody with it." Pause. Hehe. "Or, y'know, baseball." That thing deffinitely looked like a baseball bat.

Yes, baseball, Leilani and her Americaness. Huh, so was cricket like the brittish version of baseball? Hmph. Brittish people and their weirdo words. Sheesh. Like, biscuit meant cookie. Jeez, that was confusing. How about everybody just said cookie? There. Problem solved.

"With a beaters bat one could play baseball, sir." Sophia said, smiling. "Baseball is the best muggle sport ever." she said, kind of softly. "I played when I was younger, and I still play sometimes." she added, smiling. She could go on and on about baseball, but she was pretty sure the professor didn't want a lecture on something he already knows.

Em raised her hand. "I'm E-emmaleigh, sir, and It c-could't really be used for any s-sports, because they all have t-their own official bats, but you c-could use it for self defense."

Kris 09-20-2010 02:46 AM

Alex rose her hand slowly, "My name is Alexandrie, it really depends on the type of bat being used, some muggles even use bats as a weapon and others use them to play sports or games with them." Alexandrie explained hesistantly not sure if she covered everything, being pureblood and staying in the magical world she knew only a little things about muggles.

Rex raised his hand. " Professor I am Rex Trigwell" he introdueced himself. I played Quiddith at SweetWater, Texas " I p;ayed Keeper" Rex told him. " I tried out for my tram but did not make it here and then hurt my shoulder" Rex explained to the professor. " My shoulder is fine now" he told him." batts are used for playing the muggle sport Baseball, sir" Rex explained to him.

"Oh, well, my names Chloe, and I know muggles also use bats to hit something and it's not always for sport or crime. Some muggles hit something that is broken beyond repair for fun. It's a kind of stress relief for some people. I took part in one once. A fundraiser from my home community center destroying a car beyond repair. Ypo gotta rear proper equipment though. Goggles and longsleeves and and we had to sign a waiver of lialbility. It was crazy but it's an obscur thing that some muggles d with bats.", chlow responded with her hand raised high.

Jotting down each of the names of the people who had mentioned playing the position of Beater, Jeremy turned to face the class again after putting Brant on the list. "Thank you. Believe me, it will come in handy later." Was he making it obvious what the class would be about?

Well, if they hadn't guessed until then they certainly would now. Jeremy reached down to grab something which had been placed under the table...a Beater's Bat. Holding it up for the class to see, he turned it around a couple of times before asking, "Now, I assume most of you have by now identified this as a Beater's Bat." Apart from Alice probably. "Obviously,-" Sadly. "-this lesson will not be about Quidditch and Beater's Bats, though. So, any idea what a Muggle could be doing with this?" As if to emphasize his point Jeremy tossed the bat in the air and caught it again as if he were juggling.

Salander looked up and furrowed his brows, then raised a quill before replying "Well, it looks like an extremely undersized baseball bat." he offered "Also kind of a roundish Cricket bat. Uhm... some Muggle cops use a skinnier kind of bat like that. And...." he hesitated for a moment, but decided to go ahead with it anyway "..in some old cultures they use bats to wash the laundry."He wasnt making that up this time. It was so true!
