"Well, Maisie's caused an accidental spell, sir." Liz said. She was glad that that spell, whatever it was, hadn't been aimed at her. |
Lina had a holster... something she'd inherited from... somewhere. Which vaguely confused her. She just knew it had been in the belongings she was given. Come to think of it, she never remembered getting her wand, just that she had one. Hmm... Another clue? However, after the strange disruption in class, she watched as the others drew their wands, and one fumbled and cast something. Whoops, wild magic. "Professor, are some holsters faster to draw from than others?" She hadn't used hers in past terms, since it was too large for her, but she was finally able to use it by tightening it really tightly this year. It still seemed like a strange one to her. She pulled up her sleeve to look at it. The straps were tightly woven around her wrist, and it ran along the softer side of her wrist. A leather strap was attached to her wand, and the wand itself slid in the holster, falling into her hand if she moved it the right way. |
Sophia smiled. "It wasn't me!" she said. "Even thought I had the holster. I guess I was to jumpy to grab my wand quick enough." she said, still smiling. "Odd." |
Alexandrie Malfoy-Lupin looked up from her notes having been mostly silent during the lesson getting use to the idea of the HEADMASTER being their new DADA Professor. She eyed the students up front but decided to remain to raise her hand to answer. "I think the Hufflepuff Boy got his wand out faster." Alex voiced out loud, she never used a wand holster instead hiding it behind her ear, it worked for her and was most comfortable. |
Adeline said "I think the Huffie did" she said lowly, that girl ruining her day. Thank godness that girl was gone. |

"Might I suggest that if you do not approve of the use of holsters, that you consider carefully where you can store a wand so that you have easy, smooth access to it? Does anyone have a suggestion to that effect, or shall we move on?" |
Brittany just sat silently. she wanted the discussion to move ahead |
Boring lessons were boring. James shifted restlessly, stroking his own wrist holster. He listened in a vague sort of way to the lesson as it went on, noting to himself that he tended to keep his wand up his opposite sleeve if he had no holster, but he wasn't about to speak up. Instead he made eyes at pretty girls. Hello. |
Alexandrie glanced around waiting for the Professor to move on with the lesson. She admitted the Headmaster knew what he was doing, she kept her quill poised ready to take notes again. |

Adeline wanted some real action, that involved her. She slumped on her desk, but still paying attetion. |
replacing his wand in his sleeve pocket he gives the headmaster a nod and moves back to his seat flashing a smile at Enyna and Britt as he sits |
Liz scribbled quickly. So many notes, so little time! She prepared for a new page of notes and looked up expectantly at the professor. |
"Sure Professor!" she said. She walked back to her seat and sat down. She was ready to learn some spells |
"We're now at the point where I want us to use our ideas about being vigilant and ready in a practical way," Tate turned back to the front of the room, gesturing for students to return to their seats. "For this activity, you will require two spells. The first is a basic shield. Does anyone know the incantation?" |
"It is 'Protego' right?" Sophia replied, quickly. At least I think it is.... she thought. How did I know that? she asked herself. She had a bad memory, and she had never learned that. Well, at least she didn't remember learning it. |
Alright then. No one died, and that one spell didn't hit anybody. GOOD! So she could go back to taking notes and listening to what the professor was saying. Like, this question for example. "It's, 'protego'." she said after raising her hand, before going back to finishing dotting her eyes in her notes. Well, at least that was one of the shield spells. Was there an even more basic one then that? |

Trixie raised her hand once again.. The Shield spell? That was the same as the basic Shield Charm wasn't it? "That would be Protego Professor" the Slytherin smiled. Or at least that would be the one she would choose to use. It was probably the one most commonly used as well. The Slytherin turned back to her notes quickly making sure there wasn't anything else she felt the need to have to jot down on the Parchment. |
Protego hmmm she wouldhave to keep that one in mind because she knew some sneaky people in hogwarts |

Esme had fallen silent, prefering to make notes for the time being. She was tempted to tell the headmaster about her mother's odd habit of storing her wand in her chigon, but she didn't really feel that would add any weight to the discussion and stayed silent. Quote:
At this question, she raised her hand. "Sir, it's Protego." She said with a small smile. |
