Corridor outside Professor Kingsley's Office :: Knock Here
Outside Professor Kingsley's office door, a small bench and table sit up against the wall. On the table sits a stack of small pieces of parchment and a self-inking quill, should students wish to leave a note instead.
Though Professor Kingsley's office door is often closed, he is happy to invite students in. Please knock and have a seat, and he will be with you shortly!
ooc: If you would like to see Professor Kingsley, you must post in this thread first. Do not simply walk into his office without being invited.
Okay Kellen, don't lose your nerve. You actually like Kingsley. This thought swimming around in his head, Kellen walked down the corridor towards the Transfiguration professor's office. At a pace a tortoise could probably match. His one attempt at giving a speech during his OWLs hadn't gone the best in the world, in his opinion, but...
Hey! A piece of paper! Excellent!
It was also somewhat of a cop-out, but hey, he was still taking it. Kellen sat down and started writing, switching a rough draft into an actual letter once he was satisfied with what he'd said.
Text Cut: Kellen's Note to Professor Kingsley
Hello Professor,
Kellen Stern here. I'd like to start by saying that I hope you had a good summer, and I'm glad that you've returned this year. The turnover rate at this school seems quite high, and the fact that you've stayed means a lot to students. It also makes what I'm about to ask a lot easier.
I would guess that a lot of students ask you about becoming an animagus. After all, being able to change into an animal and still keep your mental capacity sounds pretty incredible. I'd like to throw my lot in with this crowd of hopefuls, but also explain why I believe I have the background experience to be successful.
Two years ago in Transfiguration, we learned about changing different parts of our bodies into the corresponding body parts of animals. While it was no where near a full-body transformation, we were able to remain alert while experiencing an un-human limb. Two summers ago I was transfigured into a moose (multiple times) by my father, and while I was irritated at him at the time I can say now that it was probably a good experience, even though I cannot consciously recall it. As you may remember, I was also transfigured fully into a rabbit last year during one of your classes. Finally, this past summer I had an experience with polyjuice potion that was something of an in-body, out-of-body occurrence.
Sufficed to say, I am quite curious and interested in studying animagi and, perhaps, becoming one. As I am in sixth year and have no interest in competing in the Triwizard Tournament, I will have ample time to devote to said studying.
I am aware I've taken up about a dozen of your pieces of parchment. Hopefully this isn't custom-made.
Thank you for your time,
Kellen Stern
Sixth Year, Ravenclaw
Kellen set down the quill and looked at the small stack of parchment that was his request letter. Really, the parchment could have been a little bigger; his handwriting wasn't exactly small. After using a sealing spell along the tops of the parchment sheets, he tucked the note into Kingsley's door (no mailbox he could see) and walked off down the hall, significantly faster than when he'd arrived.
Rubiey stood outside Professor Kingsley's office, and knocked twice. She wanted to meet the Transfiguration Professor before going back to the common room; she had promised herself she would introduce herself to all the Professors before she went to sleep.
Enya slowly walked down the corridor to the Professor's office, she guessed this was where she was suppose to go when she was told to report. But where? GAH! she hated instructions being given but missing out vitle parts! Sigh. Enya dragged her feet across the floor while she walked, she so didn't want to do this. The detention was going to suck! GAH! Once she finally got the the office door she knocked three times before stepping back and waiting to be aloud to enter.
Professor Kingsley, still agitated slightly from the situation at the feast, made his way to his office to pick up some things before heading to the dungeons.
He should have known he would already have a gathering.
"Good evening, ladies," he said cordially. "Miss Mayberry, you will need tor report to dungeon five for your detention and I will meet you there shortly, unless there was something you needed to discuss, first?"
Turning then, to the young Gryffindor, he opened the door, noticing a stack of parchment waiting of him. Picking it up and giving it a cursory glance, he tucked it into his robes to read at a later time. "You may come in. Your name?"

Sapphinelle approached the door in her normal clothes, and found the Transfiguration Professor. She waited to be invited inside, she wanted a good impression with all the teachers for her favorite subjects- that meant meeting every single one.
Good thing she wasn't shy! She gave the Professor a biiig smile and waited politely and patiently.

Carin stopped outside Professor Kingsley's door and took a deep breath. Well, here she was, about to take responsibility for her actions. That thought did not lie very well with her - in the past she'd never really been punished even she'd done something wrong, thanks to the attention her parents paid her. Or lack thereof.
But on the other hand, it felt good to know someone actually noticed her and what she did now. Not that she wanted to draw attention to herself in the future by getting into trouble - Merlin's pants, that was the last thing she wanted to do. It actually felt rather cleansing, not getting away with everything. Like someone actually cared what kind of person she was growing up to be.
But kind of scary, too.
Letting out that breath, Carin knocked and... waited.
Brittany skipped happily down to where she had gotten directions to the transfiguration professor office. After looking through her books she decided that this was going to be her favorite subject and she wanted to know everything about the subject. Very sweetly she knocked on the door three times and waited. She didnt want to seem rude by banging on the door. She wanted to make a good impression
Jaxon stepped into the sixth floor and into the corridors of the Transfiguration Professor's chambers. He knocked awaiting any response. He is looking forward to seeing the Transfiguration Professor because he is sure of one thing. He had a lot of question to being an animagus.
She was happy, she was not out of detention. Truth be told it was very boring and she kinda missed chatting with people. Sigh. But now Enya found herself walking down the Transfiguration corridor, to chat with Professor Kingsley. She wanted to say sorry, but she knew it was going to be hard to do, she never said sorry to people unless she really needed to. Sigh.
Stopping outside the office she eye'd it, wondering weather she should just leave, leave it to that. Stay clear of the Professor for a while. She really wasn't sure, but after a few minutes of waiting she lifted her small hand and knocked twice on the wodden door. Here goes nothing.

Liz walked up to the door and saw some quills and parchment. She debated for a second whether her purpose for being at the office of a professor would be better expressed in a note, and decided against it. Liz didn't really know if Professor Kingsley was good with getting back to people who left notes, so she knocked twice and sat down, mentally preparing her questions. She hoped that it wasn't a bad thing to visit with a professor for a question, especially one most people would think she should already be an expert on. Liz decided to just go with the flow and ask.
Anyone watching Kellen walking along the hall would think that, perhaps, he was chewing on something. In reality, he was trying to keep the ridiculously excited grin off his face. They were just books, after all. Still, books meant more theoretical knowledge, and theoretical led to practical, and he was glad he hadn't bowed to the peer pressure of people calling him a coward for not putting his name in the Goblet, because on the slim chance it chose him it would mean he wouldn't be here right now.
Deep breath, that was a long thought.
Kellen knocked politely on Kingsley's door and sat, careful to place himself further down the bench than the girl who'd been here before his arrival. She had a pretty thoughtful face going on, so he just gave her an encouraging smile and went back to his own thoughts.
He had a question...or a general wondering...yeah, that suited best.
And if it was related to Transfiguration, then he'd better come visit Professor Kingsley, no? That's why Treyen was here, though, he was slightly surprised to find zero students in line, was...Kingsley in his office?
Oh, well, the little Huffie boy knocked and waited to be called inside. If in fifteen minutes no one answered, then...he'll leave a note. Yes.
OOC: Clearly, those fifteen minutes are not real life ones, LOL, he'll wait.
Exciting exciting.... Rae would need a lot of help. Why not ask her favorite teacher?? Rae knocked on the door then took a seat on the floor and leaned against the wall. Wait. wait... wait.
Eino anxiously made his way to Professor Kingsley's office and knocked on his door. Something had been keeping him up ever since the last Transfiguration class and he wished to settle that uneasy feeling once and for all! As he waited impatiently he grew discouraged and was tempted to leave, but he decided to distract himself by taking a seat on the bench and reading Dragon Breeding for Pleasure and Profit.

Professor Kingsley's voice carries through the door quite boisterously.
"Come in!"
