Whaaaaaaaaaaat those weren't bowtruckles?! Fletcher had been almost certain that those were bowtruckles. Like 99.99999% certain. WHAT THE HECK TIGER LADYYYYY.

Hmmmmphing to himself, the boy stomped over to the two vivariums and reached into one. He didn't even bother to put the gloves on. Like he cared. Pffft. Like they were even dangerous. Whatever.

Fletcher pulled one brown little bug out and stared at it, his nose wrinkling up at the sight of the thing. Uhhhhhhh. "I think this is a walking stick," he announced loudly, "because it hasn't bitten me yet."

Good answer, good answer. Now if they had mandrakes around on which to unleash the dugbogs and walking sticks, it would be much easier to tell the two apart.

brelovesweasleys 09-20-2010 03:29 AM

For this whole time Rae had still been pondering over if she could break a creature, like if it could snap or something. Then she heard something about taking them out... Wait.. Dugbogs? Walking sticks? What happened to Bowtruckles. That's what Rae got for being dumb right?

She went to pick up some dragon-hide gloves and made her way over to where one box thing of creatures was. Rae picked up a stick, they all looked like sticks, pretty carelessly, It didn't seem to be bothered...... It just kinda..... laid there. Was it moving? "Professor! I think mine died!" Whatever it was, it wasn't moving.

Rae poked it... Nothing. Did she already kill it? It didn't even snap!!! All that pondering and it didn't even snap!

Branwen slipped on her dragon-hide gloves and walked up to the vivariums. She reached in an pulled out a ...thingy. She looked at it for a while trying to guess what it was. She then remembered that a dugbog was a water creature and if memory served her correctly a stick bug was a tree type creature. So she started really looking at the ....bug. She couldn't find any gills, or fins. She was about to say that it was a stick bug when she looked at the tiny little hands and saw that they were webbed. "I think this is a dugbog." she said unsurely and waited to find out if she was correct.

samthehpfreak 09-20-2010 04:56 AM

Sammy slipped her gloves on quickly, and walked as calmly as possible (which isn't really that calm at all) over to the creatures. She picked one up carefully, and studied it ... keeping it a distance from her face though ... she didn't want her nose bitten. It didn't seem to have any dugbog features ... walking stick. It looked typically like a walking stick, and it had no dugbog features ... so it was a walking stick. "ma'am, I don't think it's a dugbo- OW! THE LITTLE POO BIT ME!" she yelled, pulling the creature as quickly as possible off her finger and glaring at it. "I think it's a walking stick" she finished, still glaring at the little stick-like creature

"They seem very much alike our Dugbog friends here, aswell as bowtruckles..." Which could be a bit tricky. Or not.

"So how will you all be able to see the difference?" Maya positioned herself in the middle of the two tanks. With a flick of her wand, she cast obscuro over everyone - making a blindfold cover the eyes of each student momentarily. Maya needed to change the positions of the tanks.

Flicking her wand again, the blindfolds dissapeared. "Allright. The dugbogs and walking sticks have changed places. I need you to tell me what creature is where." And the trick is? Freya put on her glove and moved toward the vivarium. She looked at the two vivarium and studied carefully. Which one she'd choose?Hmm..She carefully picked up one creature from the vivarium. She stared at the creatures for a few minutes and poked it for a few times but it just stayed still like a stick. "Umm..I think it's a walking stick, Professor. because it looks like a umm..stick" she said. It really looks like stick isn't it?It didn't look like a dugbog at all. So this is definitely a walking stick.

BearyMay 09-20-2010 10:50 AM

Dianna placed her gloves on and walked over to the vivarium. Hm.. Which one?
She randomly went over to one and picked up a small but weird looking piece of wood. She starred at it for a moment and just when she was about to answer.. "Ouch!" the piece of wood, which she had to say looked perfectly still and harmless came to life and bit her. Even with her gloves on she could feel the pressure of the little thing's bite. "Erm.. I think it's a erm.. dugbog because it looks like a piece of wood and erm.." she starred at it for another moment. It was still clinging to her hand and didn't seem to want to let go. Oh! Look at the hands. "It has finned hands." she finished.

Standing up, Patroclus slid on his dragonhide gloves, there was no way he was letting on the bugs bite him.

Patroclus found himself breaking out in a hot flush the closer and closer he got to Professor 'MayayayayayGod!' Patroclus was not one of those boys who found himself viewing woman in 'that' way....well besides one other, but it may have been her accent, or her style but Patroclus could help but say that Professor Saylen was Hot!

Brushing those thought from his head, Patroclus dipped his hands into the tank, and waited till a bug crawled onto his hand. Lifting it out, Patroclus could see where this lesson was going, guess which is magic and which is non-magic.

Patroclus broke out in a shiver, than a tingle, and smirk, next he knew he was in hysterics, "HAHAHAH they tickle!" the boy couldn't help but laugh, he wanted to stop the little legs, but he was in a fit of giggles that allowed the bug to tickle him like crazy

Brant went to go pick out either a stick or a dugbog. Carefully weighing his options he just closed his eyes and picked something up. With his gloves on of course. Brant squinted one eye open to see what he had selected. He almost bursted out laughing because this "walking stick" wasn't doing anything.

it was just a normal walking stick. "Oh...."

"Professor, Mine doesn't move or have any life like characteristics to it. I believe what I have here is a normal Stick."

MugglesStink! 09-20-2010 11:28 AM

Adeline shivered... SHE HAD TO TOUCH A BUG?!?!?!?!?! She but on two pairs of protectove gloves to picked a dugbog up, but also, a spider crawled up her arm when she was picking the creature up. As she felt the spider crawl into her hair she screamed at the top of her lungs. She started shaking her head like a mental patient and runing around in a little circle like crazy. "There's a spider in my hair!" she said to the proffesor, still freaking out. "Please Please Please get it out!" she shouted, politley of course. All that time the dugbog crawled out of her hand and bit her ankle. She rarely noticed, but still THERE WAS A BUG IN HER HAIR!

sweetpinkpixie 09-20-2010 11:35 AM

Kurumi could feel her skin tingle in anticipation as she slide on her gloves and reached down to pick up what she hoped would be a dugbog instead of a normal stick. She examined whatever it was that she was holding and...did she just hear a purring-like sound? "Professor, do Dugbogs purr?" she asked as she put her face a little closer. She then noticed her "stick's" finned paws scrunched up tightly at its sides and she felt like she was going to faint from happiness. She was touching her first real magical creature! She started jumping up and down in her excitement and the thing in her hand went from purring to...growling? The creature in her hand opened it's mouth and...

CHOMP!

Now she had a stick hanging from her gloved index finger. It kind of tickled how it began sucking on her finger and she could just barely feel its teeth through her thick gloves. "I believe mine is a Dugbog, Professor," she smiled with glee as she presented her finger and the thing hanging from it.

Hollister 09-20-2010 02:06 PM

Jack wasn't really sure what 'Carasius Morosus' or he hadn't heard of them, but he found it quite funny that muggles used them for walking sticks. What poor creatures, what silly muggles. Though, when he walked up to one of the vivariums and picked one up gently, just incase it was indeed a dugbog, he saw that they looked really not like a creature at all. "I'm thinkin' walking stick because ... it looks like one?" Sigh, that was lame, because even though Dugbogs looked like walking sticks, they had mouths and sharp teeth and stuff, whereas this creature really looked helpful if you had a limp. "It also hasn't attacked me yet, which I thought it would do."

Was the Professor being serious? Did really the students have to blindly stretch their hands into the bags to grab those creatures? Okay then two words for Louisa.... NO WAY!

The 11-year-old stood at the back of group of students who crowded around the bags. Why were they that exciting to do it?
Ouch!
She saw several students being bitten and yelling and those Dugbogs struggling in their hands with those paws and all.. which made her even more determined that she would never ever get closer to those animals.

She stepped back little further and watched terrified of what the students were getting. She started shivering a bit and her hands went cold underneath the gloves and her mouth went dry. Bloody hell! She can't be that terrified like babies!

Louisa looked around to see if anyone saw her having this fit of fear. Where was Enya when she needed her? The line is getting thinner and the Professor might notice her! She hugged her torso with her hands and tried to calm herself a bit.

Alice had to admit, she was a little nervous about picking them up, protective gloves or not. She didn't really have an option though, so Alice slid on her protective gloves, walked over to the tank on the right, and gently reached her hand in.

Alice was paranoid about being bit but she figured if she could get the little creature in the right position it wouldn't be capable of biting her. Alice wrapped her hand around the creature, under it's armpits since she wasn't sure what they considered the area under the arms to be on this creature, and held it far enough away that it couldn't get at her face, but close enough that she could observe it.

To be honest the creature didn't seen phased. It merely stared at her with a bored expression and Alice couldn't help but smile. It was kind of cute. Alice smiled even wider when the creature wrapped both of its hands around her fingers. Although wait...was it about to bite her?

"Hey, now, don't you bite me," she said eyeing the stick in a threatening manner.

The creature merely stared at her with that whatever expression, and used it's hand to push itself up a little bit. Apparently where Alice had grabbed him was not very comfortable.

"Oh, sorry," Alice said apologetically, sliding her hand down its body a little ways. "Professor I think this might be a walking stick, due to its calm demeanor, and well..." Alice leaned into to look at its mouth. "Its teeth aren't sharp like the Dugbog."

Destiny 09-20-2010 04:37 PM

Destiny was going to touch a bug! Woooot!

Hopping from her seat, she made her way over to the tanks, putting her gloves on on her way up. She waited her turn, and sticking her hand in the tank closer to herself picked up one of the bugs. Errr, now what kind of bug was it? Placing one hand on her hip, she held the bug with the other, letting it crawl around on her glove. Well, it didn't have webbed feet like a dugbog, and it hasn't tried to bite her like a dugbog, so it must be a walking stick! HA! That was easy peasy eat a leafy.

"Professor! In my hand I hold a walking stick!" she said, holding her hand up a little, to show the Professor and the WHOLE class, "The name is Destiny Shepard by the way. And I know, for a fact, that this bug is a walking stick because it told me so." she kept her face serious for a second, before bursting into laughter, "I'm just kidding.. It didn't try to bite me, so it isn't a dugbog and it doesn't have webbed feet. A walking stick!"

MeredithRodneyMckay 09-20-2010 07:29 PM

Sarah wasn't sure she liked this Professor yet. There was just something about her that screamed RUDE. But that was besides the point. So far she hadn't said anything to Sarah, and as they set about the first task, it was doubtful she would have to. Heh.

Marching over to the vivariums, gloves firmly on, she stuck her hand into one and pulled out the first creature that came to hand. "Hmmm," Sarah said, studying the thing and trying to decide what it was. The fact she had it's feet covered with her hands didn't help much. Of course the teeth were a good give away. And these ones seemed to want to chomp onto her finger - which it eventually managed. "Owwww. Why you little bugger. Good job I have these gloves on, or you would have been instinctively flung someplace far away."

With the thing clamped firm, Sarah wiggled her finger to make sure it was alright, before spreading one of it's feet out. Webbed. "Professor, I..urrr, yeah. Sarah Griffin, Hufflepuff," she should add that bit first. "Anyway, yes, I think I have a Dugbog. It's feet are webbed, and these are some darn sharp teeth!" Was it starting to nom through the glove? Merlin, say no.

Luna Laufghudd 09-20-2010 08:18 PM

Cue eyerolling. Maya couldn't help but sigh as people were blindfolded. But like the hyper children they were, it seemed they calmed down after a moment.

Were they ready now?
Meh, Maya didn't really care.

She studied it for a second when she felt something sharp bite her arm. "Umm, Professor." she stammered. "I am pretty sure the creature just bit me." she said, glaring at the little thing. SIGH! Don't be mad. It's just an animal. she thought.

She studied it for a bit longer and came to a conclusion. "Professor, I am pretty sure this is a Dugbog." she said. "It has finned paws and sharp teeth." she said, explaining her reasoning to the teacher.

Patiently waiting for the first student to pick up a creature, Maya was glad when that happened - this year. She watched the young girl like a hawk.

Awww, she got bitten? Tough!
When the girl came to her conclusion, Maya stepped closer and inspected the creatures to make sure she was right or not. It seemed she was. "Good work, Miss Lombardi. Go ahead and pick up a Walking Stick - might be good for you to see the difference between the two creatures." Well only if she wanted to.

"Whaaa?" Riley started to shriek as his eyes were covered with a spell from the professor, was she setting them loose on them without being prepared?! Oh no it was ok. Ooh they were going to be playing a sort of game? That could be cool. Riley stepped forward with the others and then found out what they had to do. THEY HAD TO TOUCH THEM?!

Riley grudgingly took a creature and felt it crawl around on his hand, its feet making distinct prickly feelings on his forearm, just above his gloves. He looked closer at he feet and then spoke to the Professor. "Professor Saylen, my creature is a Dugbog, I can tell by the finned-feet on him, see!" he pointed with his other hand.

In his excitment for hopefully being correct, Riley lost his concentration on the bug and it hopped onto his face and bit him clean on the nose! "OOWWWWWWWWW!!!!" Riley jumped back and crossed his eyes as he stared at the Dudbog on his face. "GET HIM OFF!!!" he cried stomping around and then falling back on the seat of his pants into the muddy ground.

Next student. It was that Riley boy. Yeah, Maya would watch him like a hawk too. She leaned in as he showed her the feet and nodded. "Very good, Mister Sinclair." Before the Professor could encourage him to take a look at the Walking sticks, he started to get all hyper again. Ay, Fajitas. She didn't move to help him though, putting her hands on her hips she waited for the tantrum to go away. It seemed like another student was more eager to help...

Oh.

Mini internal panic attack over. Heh.

Pulling her gloves out of her bag, she put them on while listening to the professor. That was an simple task.

She was about to head over and get her own creature, hopefully a Dudbog, when some boy started panicking. What on earth was he doing all of that for? Quickly making her way over to him, she bent down and let the creature crawl of his face and into her gloved hand. "Your gonna hurt them doing all that screaming and falling." She stated simply, still kneeling beside him as she studied the creature in her hand. It would be soo sad if one of the creature got hurt in class.

Plus the professor wouldn't be to happy if they were injured, that was for sure.

"This is a Dudbog," She said, brown eyes still on the creature as he tried to bite her hand through the glove. "He's really feisty, and it has the finned paws dudbogs have."

That and up close the creature didn't resemble the walking sticks she had seen.

...A miss Lovegoods. And she completely stole Mister Sinclair's dugbog. Huh. "Yes, indeed it is, Miss Lovegoods. Would you care to pick out your own creature to study?" No cheating in this class! "Give yourself an extra...challenge." Hmmm?

As for... "Mister Sinclair, I will not allow anyone to get hurt in my class. Can you stand up or...do you need help?" Help as in Maya grabbing his robes and pulling him up. And he better not be bleeding...

Gloves. she needed her gloves. Em dug through her bag for her protective gloves. She knew to bring them, even if the professor didn't tell them they needed the gloves. She had seen Professor Saylen test the students that day when she went to meet her. Ah, there they were, she thought as she placed them on her hands. She walked up to the vivarium and looked at the creatures. They had a very good natural camouflage, and if she hadn't known they were in there, she probably would have never seen them.

She stuck her hand into one of the tanks and raised out one of the creatures. As she held it, she studied it closely. It was long and skinny, and looked like a twig with all of its legs held close to its body. She was pretty sure this one was the walking stick, so she placed it back into its tank and moved to the next one.

This one, well, this one was mean. His little legs squirmed, and she saw his tiny mouth try to bite her fingers. Good thing she had her gloves. Looking at it, it looked more like a piece of bark or something. And his feet had little fins. Yeah, this one was defiantly the dugbog.

Emmaleigh walked up to the professor, to share her thoughts. "P-professor, I believe this one here is the Dugbog. Hes p-pretty feisty; he tried to bite me with those sharp teeth of his. But more importantly, his feet have fins, which would come in hand s-swimming around the marshes." She pointed to the other tank."Comparing it to the c-creatures in that tank, you can really tell. When I p-picked one of them up it became ridged, and looked like a twig."

Ignoring the commotion to help the next student, Maya crossed her arms on her chest and waited. She was puzzled for a moment though when the girl seemed to return the Walking Stick to its vivarium. Maya didn't want to ruin her concentration, so she let it pass. But it became clear Miss Swynford HAD noticed the difference. "Indeed it is. That is a very good observation, Miss Swynford." Yes it was. "You may return to your seat, unless you want to examine them further."

Oh. Hehe. Never mind.

Okay. The boy nodded and took another direction than the ones the others were taking...because he needed the gloves, you see. Hopefully Professor Saylen wouldn't notice? Nah, she'll notice, the gloves were right in front of her.

Then..off to a tank! There was something moving....and then at the touch of the boy's hands closed on itself. It was only a stick now. "Oh, Professor, this is the muggle stuff" he said, totally forgetting the name, "As soon as I picked it up it became rigid, a normal thing for them to do when they noticed intrusion, no?" he had to ask, because he wasn't sure.

And then some boy started to exclaim something, Treyen couldn't help but shake his head. He only needed to grab the Dugbog and take it away from his nose.

Ah, and here came the younger Lockhart. Maya actually moved a bit closer to the boy, just incase.
Muggle stuff? What the... "They are called Walking Sticks, Mister Lockhart." It's easyyy. "And yes, that is correct. Their response is quite different from the Dugbog's, isn't it." Not a question, because obviously the statement was correct also. "Go ahead and examine the Dugbog, Mister Lockhart - I'm sure it will be valuable knowledge to you."

Another student freaking out. What would happen if they met a creature that would attack them for screaming? Ugh.
"Be careful, Mister White." And Maya was not concerned for the boy. "That is a good question. Unfortunately there is no way to know that for certain. Animals get spooked for various reasons. I assume the creature you're holding thought you were a big monster. You need to be firm when holdin them but not too firm." That made sense, right? That is the creatures defensieve mechanism. Can you think of which of the two creatures here would do that?" Seeing as the Dugbog would probably scratch you instead of going 'dead'.

"Miss Star!" Why all the yelliiiing? "Keep your voice down. Remember you are holding a delicate creature." A walking stick bit her? Oh. "How can you be sure it is a walking stick? Any details that are important to mention?"

The creature looked like a stick. That was one of the most interesting answers Maya had gotten. She approached the girl and the creature, making sure it indeed was right. "Correct you are, Miss Salvatore." Yep. "Go ahead and examine the Dugbog - it is good to know the difference between them."

Lots of ouches today. Sigh. But the girl seemed to recover quickly - and giving good answers. Maya watched her before answering, "Looks like wood and has finned hands. That is correct, Miss Malfoy." Nod nod. "Examine a Walking Stick if you wish. I'm sure you'll notice the differences between them aswell."

Patroclus was not one of those boys who found himself viewing woman in 'that' way....well besides one other, but it may have been her accent, or her style but Patroclus could help but say that Professor Saylen was Hot!

Scanning the stundents around the Vivariums, Maya's eyes fell on that very excited boy, looking quite calm. Heh.

...and then he was back. Well, that was a first. Maya had never seen a student laugh like that in a class. Hehe. "Mister Julius..." How to proceed. "Yes, then can tickle," among other things. "What creature is it that you are holding?" And she couldn't help pursing her lips to hide the tiny smile. His laughter was quite infectious.

it was just a normal walking stick. "Oh...."

"Professor, Mine doesn't move or have any life like characteristics to it. I believe what I have here is a normal Stick."

A normal stick? "Are you sure you picked up a creature, Mister DeVaice? Or is it a piece of a branch?" They could mess with plants in Herbology, but not here. "What is it that you see? Any details that can help you decice what creature it is?"

Oh. Dear. Merlin's. Tortillas. Siiiiiiiiiiiigh.
Now Maya had to worry about that cheerleader swinging her head around. What was she doing? "Miss, Morey!" The Professor rushed over to the girl, "Get yourself together - I do not accept anyone loosing their focus in my class!"

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
She didn't think words would work here.

Stomping her way over to the young girl, Maya flicked her wand at the girl, and cast the full body bind on her, catching her before she fell to the ground. Inspecting her hair, she picked out the spider and flicked it somewhere. She noticed the poor Dugbog by her feet and picked it up by it's body. "Miss Morey, the spider is gone and I have your Dugbog. I will release you of your bind - there is no need to be alarmed." Right?

She waited a second and then lifted the bind.

Dugbogs purring? "They could, but-" Errr. Why was the girl jumping? Stop it. Hehe. And there you go - the creature probably got scared and ensued in the biting. "Yes, Miss Hollingberry, I believe it is so." And the girl looked quite happy. It was kind of...nice. "How did you come to that conclusion? Besides the fact that it bit you, can you think of other characteristics this creature has that makes it a Dugbog?"

Hah. Maya could see the boy was unsure of his answer and let him explain further if he wished, before speaking up. "I think you are correct, Mister Riding.

Uh oh.

Ah, there, see? This student knew how to take care of the creatures. "Very good, Miss Page. I see you've taken the need of the creature into account." Approved. "You may take your seat, unless you want to examine a Dugbog - which I recommend." Yes yes.

LOUD person. Maya loosely crossed her arms, regarding the girl and the creature. Why was she talking so loudly - she was right. there. The Mexicana kept her face straight, totally not getting the joke. "A walking stick...That is correct, Miss Shepard. You are also free to take your seat, unless you want to see how a Dugbog looks like. Just, don't keep it too close to your ear if it 'speaks' to you, if you want to keep it." Now THAT was a funny joke. Yes it was.

Who was swearing!?
Whipping her head around, Maya noticed the young girl inspecting the creature. Bah, they did NOT need to hear such language. Sarah Griffin. "Correct you are, Miss Griffin. But I suggest you keep the foul language to yourself next time." Squint. "Would you like to pick up a Walking Stick now? Before the Dugbog eats your finger..." Right? Dugbogs....Walking sticks......

Trix blinked a few times as a blindfold was placed over her eyes and she was unable to see anything. Hmph. She liked having all her senses thank you very much. Still the Blonde moved forward slowly and carfeully, didn't want any hospital visits yet right until she reached her tanky thing. But luckily the blindfold was lifted and she could see again. Like a miracle.

The sixth year slipped on her Dragon Hide gloves and glanced around wearily before making any more movement.

The Slytherin gently placed her hand into the tank feeling around for whatever it was that would be found in the tank, her mind fully concentrating on what it was she was doing but she was soon distracted by the fact she hadn't recieved the bite she had been anticipating. "Professor, this seems to be a 'Walking Stick, judging by the fact it hasn't made to bite me yet but also because it hasn't got those fine claws or incredibly sharp teeth in its mouth" Not that she had exactly opened its mouth to look yet, still the creature had revealed more smooth teeth then the sharp carnivore ones she was looking out for.

Riley wasn't very please with this class, and he was in a total pout now. He was bit by a stick-thing called a Dungbog or whatever, he fell in the mud and ruined his pants and some girl, a huffie no doubt, tried to steal his creature! "I will have that back thank you very much!" he said with a huff and watched as the creture hopped back into his gloved hand, and he just looked at the Professor with a small grimace on his face.

And then 'Someone said a wiiiirdy dord' the Gryffindor sang inside of his head as he wipped his head around in excitement. And it was another Huffie, but it was the Head Girl?! Awesomeness.

Alice looked up as Professor Saylen came over to inspect her creature, who looked relieved at the new location of her hand.

Alice smiled as the Professor complimented her taking into consideration the feeling of the walking stick. "Thanks Professor," Alice said, not really wanting to let go of the walking stick. She kind of liked his company, and he seemed perfectly content in her hand. "I figure if you treat them kindly and don't give them a reason to be mad, they won't be," Alice said with an "I don't know" kind of smile. What could she say. She seemed very comfortable with animals, just like she did with plants.

Alice nodded at the recommendation to go check out a Dugbog, which looked very happy at the prospect of someone new to bite, but decided against picking it up. She could observe it well enough from here, and besides, she didn't want it attacking her walking stick.

Kind of sad to say goodbye to the little guy, Alice gently placed him back into the tank. It looked up at her for a moment, recognizing that she was done with him, and then walked away to one corner of the box where he plopped down and closed his eyes.

Alice headed back to her seat and waited for everyone else to finish, and for Professor Saylen to give more directions.

Kurumi looked at her creature as it continued to hang off her finger with it's adorable little webbed feet dangling and trying to run in the air. "Well," she giggled as she helped the poor thing back on her hand and it finally let go of her finger. "This little guy has webbed feet and an aggressive nature which was probably because I was jumping around," she explained as a butterfly flew by her hand and her dugbog jumped slightly to devour it. "It also seems to have a taste for butterflies..." it was still kind of cute, but Kurumi wrinkled her nose slightly as bits of butterfly were now all over her gloves and the dugbog was licking them up

Roselyn 09-20-2010 09:43 PM

Hmm, no. She did not like the fact that her site was taken away from. Having tried to blink a few times to see if that made any LIGHT appear, she finally reached up to her eyes to see what the problem was. A...blindfold!?

She was BLINDFOLDED!?

Her protests were halted though as she suddenly was able to see again. With her eyes adjusting to the light, Evelyn waited until a few people had gotten up to examine the creatures. She took this time to grab her dragonhide gloves out of her bag and put them on, adjusting them so it left no skin on her wrists showing. She really did not feel like getting bit.

Standing up, the Slytherin made her way over to one of the tanks, raising a brow as one student yelled out in pain. Dugbog got his nose? Bahahaha! Or Merlin….She needed better humor.

Looking inside one of the tanks, her eyes searched for a moment, looking for any movement. Something flickered at the corner of her eye, causing her gaze to immediately search or for the movement. That one there? Reaching inside, she picked the stick thing up, holding it up to eye level (though far enough away where it wouldn’t bite her nose) to examine it. It was a stick. Meh. Just about to throw it back inside the tank, the girl paused for a moment and brought it back up again, holding the other end lightly as she brought it closer to see. She REALLY didn’t want to be bit.

"Carausius morosus." She muttered, before raising a brow. Huh, she could remember THAT name, but could not remember some of these teacher’s names. Weird. "Professor, this is one of those Walking Sticks." Thing. Raising the bug up in the direction of the Professor, she smirked before telling her the reason why it WAS a Walking Stick bug thing. "It isn’t moving, considering it probably feels threatened and that is usually the creature’s way of defending itself, but if you look closely you would notice the legs of it. And they aren’t like the Dugbogs either." She knew what a Dugbog looked like, and this wasn’t one of them.

Oops! The Professor noticed! Louisa felt the blood running out of her face towards her mind thinking fast. She could feign sick and get rid of this awful class, couldn't she? What if there was some magical trick that could expose her real intention? And what if the teacher decided to let her deal with some dangerous creatures?

"I was just..." Lie! Lie! Where the hell was your courage you stupid! But then the teacher knelt beside her stern but nice. Louisa's heart easened its beats a bit and she let out a small sigh as she took hold of the teacher's hand and stumbled behind her hiding behind Miss. Maya's body and ignoring the bags that stood nearby.

Now, what could save her from the horrible touching moment that was about to come? Awful things were said to her by older students in the common room about many creatures... what if.. A shiver went through her body and she feared that the teacher would call her a coward in front of the class!

"What if those Dugbogs ate one of my fingers?" Her voice was shaking as she looked up at the teacher, "Some students told me that those gloves were helpful but some creatures would use their own magic and hurt us." She spared the scary stories she heard; like that thing that would kill you instantly by looking at you, or that creature which was invisible and could do whatever it liked to you without being exposed.

The girl held tightly at the teacher's hand while the stories flooded in her mind, and she was literally walking behind the Professor shaking slightly. Where was her mom when she needed her?

looking at the small branch the creature had moved too and turning it in hia hands "it is a walking stick Ms. see there is no webbing " replacing it gently back in the cage and looking for a dugbog. After a few seconds he spots one that has been replaced pulling out a small pice of dried squirrel that he kept as treats for his owl "Ms. may I." holding up the meat and nodding toward the dugbog "it is dried squirrel"
