Ellie walked into the Great Hall, yawning. The ceiling was pretty and blue, with those perfect, big, fluffy clouds. She smiled. Good morning world. She sat down to eat and took some toast with butter to start. |
Maddie walked into the Hall, looking up at the beautiful ceiling. She waved, and went to sit next to Ellie, taking some waffles and chocolate sauce off of the middle of the table |
Lily made her way from the entrance hall to the great hall breathing in the smell of the freashly cooked food she smiled and made her way to the Ravenclaw table taking a seat to one of the benches next to Maddie "Morning" she said happily before taking some pancakes and sprinkleing some sugur and lemon on. |

"Good morning." she said absently. Her attention was focused on the ceiling. She was waiting for the post to come. |

Maia walked into the Great Hall. She overslept, she would have to hurry. She grabbed some french toast and began to eat quickly. |
Emily walked into the great hall, she looked so much like Emilya this morning, especially since she was wearing her clothes. She had to celebrate Emilya's life so she could move on. She felt as if all the eyes in the school were on her. She sat down and put scrambled eggs and toast on her plate, she moved it around a little and she put her fork down. She wasn't hungry. |
Bestie! Ivory was still giggling as she led her best friend to the nearest empty table...which of course happened to be her house table. Sadly it seemed Ravenclaws didn't wake up this early...well except for her that is. Nevertheless, the array of food was scrumptious looking and her stomach didn't care if they were surrounded by people or not. Although maybe the topic of the conversation did. In that case, well then it was good they were almost completely alone. Sitting down she poured herself a big glass of apple juice and grabbed some tongs to fill her plate with pancakes, some sunnyside up eggs, and even a slice of bacon and toast. Smiling at her full plate she turned towards Arya. "Alrighty bestie spill. What did TaterTot say?" |
Arya let herself be led into the Great Hall. She was glad that they went to the Ravenclaw table because her own seemed to be full of her housemates. Aparently badgers DO get up this early in the morning and she didn't want to talk about all the meetings she had went to with others around. Sitting down at the table, she glanced at all the delcious food before deciding on what she wanted. The puff poured herself some orange juice, and pilled eggs, bacon, and blueberry waffles onto her plate. She took a sip of her drink and a few bites of the eggs as the two sat in silence for a while. The little puff was trying to recollect every detail she could remember, it still hurt to think about it but she wanted to let Ivory know what happened. Couldn't have her best friend homeschooled over this little incedent. Then after a long moment, she just played with the food on her plate. Soon she began to tell Ivory everything that happened in a hushed tone, even though no one was near by. She didn't look at Ivory the whole time, just stayed focused on her plate. When she was done, she took another sip of her juice. OOC: That's a lot of information to type and some of it hasn't been rped yet so lets pretend that she knows everything m'kay? |

Ivory knew that it wasn't going to be an easy conversation so she dug into her food as she waited for Arya to feel comfortable enough to talk. As the story came out, she couldn't help letting out a few Wow, really?-s and a few tiny gasps in all the right places. Rubbing her friend's back, Ivory let out a big breath of air when it was over. "Well at least...its over now. Maybe Lafay was just meant to teach older maybe university level students...or maybe not teach at all?" Leaving the question unanswered, she brushed off the crumbs from her lap and tried to put a big smile on her face. "What we need now is a change of topic. Something of a lesser evil...like HOMEWORK!" |
Arya shrugged as she took another bite out of her eggs, comforted by her friend's touch. She didn't know who this woman was fit to teach and she didn't care. All she did know was that so long as Lafay was teaching the class, this little puff would not be attending it. The puff grinned at her friend as she took a sip of her apple juice. Of course the claw would turn the subject to homework, she didn't mind seeing how she did need a partner for one of the assignments. "Well if you insist. Wanna do our Transfiguration homework?" Not really waiting for a response, she pulled out her wand and twirled it between her fingers as she stuck a piece of bacon in her mouth with the other. |
"Alright that sounds like a good place to start.." Her smile fell slightly at the thought of aaaaall that homework she'd left piling up till the last minute and she shook her head to herself. Well that's what she got for procrastinating. Reaching into her robes, she pulled out her wand feeling the familiar warmth and seeing the always present blue flame. As always it had a calming effect on her. Once more reaching her hand into her many pockets she pulled out the first thing her hand came into contact with....an empty ink well. Hmm it would do. "We have to practice turning an object into a watch right?" Squinting at the small bottle, she turned towards her friend. |
After a quick moment, she pulled the salt shaker in front of her and continued to slowly twirl her wand as she focused on the spell. Absently she nodded her head at her friend. "Yes, we change it to a watch or clock then switch items and change it back." Her eyes flickered up at the owls as they began to fly in and deliver mail to students. She knew that her owl was in the flock somewhere but forced herself to focus on the homework at hand. Thankfully there wasn't many Ravenclaws at the table seeing how early it was. Blinking she turned her gaze on her friend. "Ready to start?" |
"Yup" As ready as I'll ever be..she thought to herself as she stared down at her empty ink well and practiced the wand movement a few times.Three tight clock-wise circles, with a flick at the end. Alright well, it seemed first she needed to mentally categorize the aspects of her object. It was inanimate, glass, stumpy cylinder-ish with a vase-y top, clear, black cork-y thing, sporting a small label. Taking it in hand, she measured its weight knowing it was considerably less since it didn't have ink. Now she visualized what she wanted to happen. She wanted it to shrink into a flatter cylinder, for the glass to partially transform into a metallic metal. For the cork to maybe become the center point where the dials would radiate from. For the lettering on the labels to expand and become the numbers on the circumference. She wanted the extra glass to become miniature gears and mechanisms. She wanted it to be, a look down at her wristwatch confirmed, 7:38 a.m. Alright. Okay. After a bit of mental preparation and careful scrutiny of the empty inkwell, Ivory lifted her wand and took a deep breath as she concentrated on her intent. "Horolos" She pronounced the incantation in time with her wand movements and watched as the inkwell collapsed into itself, the glass turned to metal, the lettering became numbers, and a watch emerged. Grinning she picked it up and held it up for inspection but almost immediately her grin fell. "Oh bother...its not ticking!!" She'd concentrated on the image but not on the interior. Sighing she gave a quick swish and Revertoe and watched her inkwell pop out of its flat temporary shape again. With a more precise visualization in her mind's eye, a working one mind you, she once again brought up her wand. "Horolos!" This time the incantation came out a bit more confidently, as did the flick at the end of her wand motions. This time the resonant ticking sound was the first thing to be heard and then the tiny whirls as the entire object contracted to become a nice little pocket watch. Sure she'd transfigured it with the time of three minutes ago but oh well at least it was working and had the appearance of a clock. Examining it, she held it out to her friend as she giggled."It's like 3 minutes late but I think that's as good as its gonna get.." |
Since she had a lot of trouble with her concentration on this spell in the class, she decided to let Ivory change her object first. Twirling her wand slowly, she watched her friend intently in atempt to tune out the hooting owls above. When her friend was done, she took the watch and gave it her own examination. "It looks good, and atleast you got it ticking. Three minutes off isn't bad." She smiled at her friend and handed the watch back to her. Now it was her turn. She had already cleared the food from infront of her so that only the salt shaker was before her. Practicing the wand motions with her eyes slightly closed, she tried to picture the pocket watch she had transfigured in class. It had taken her a few long moments (cause of the owls), but she finally had it clear in her mind. Without opening her eye fully, she turned her wand in three tight clock-wise circles, and gave a small flick at the end. "Horolos." When her eyes opened she saw not a gold watch but a silver one, and it had no hands. Frowning slightly, she tapped her wand against the watch lost in thought until she gave her wand a quick swish. "Reverto." Once it was a salt shaker again, she concentrated until she held the picture of the gold pocket watch. Preforming the wand motions, she again said "Horolos", but this time she watched as her salt shaker transformed before her eyes. The salt shaker had become the pocket watch she invisioned, but the time was completly off. Not that she cared, atleast it was ticking. Picking it up, she examined it carefully for a moment before handing it to Ivory. "Its waaaay off, but the rest of the watch is fine." Picking up Ivory's transfigured watch, she ran it through her hand. "Time to revert each others watch back." It was more of a statement than a question. OOC: She still doesn't concentrate enough on the watch so it won't stay transfigured long enough for Ivory to revert it. Soon it will change back to a salt shaker, I'll let you decide when. |
"Eh it doesn't matter at least it works and ticks" She said brightly as she took the watch and placed it on the table in front of her. Staring at it right in its face (cause a watch has a face, pun intended), Ivory analyzed its attributes. It was watch-like to say the least. Flat cylinder. Gold metallic finish. Weighed considerably less than a salt shaker. Roman numerals. Salt filled- What? Even as she analyzed the watch it slowly became over brimming with salt and the gold finish dulled to a clear glass the expanded upwards to encompass the salt and finally the little know flattened to become the perforated top. Sighing she poked it with her wand and turned to her friend as she tried to keep a straight face. "I guess it was it's time..." Her giggles got the best of her though since it was after all a lame joke. "Don't worry Arya you just have to concentrate. Pretend its just you and the salt shaker and you're on a deserted island...well one with many owls..." Looking up at the birds she wondered if maybe it would've been a better idea to do their homework elsewhere."And your...survival no your rescue depends on you knowing what time it is..yeah." Yes because that made sense right?" Focus..." At that moment she didn't know if what she was saying was making any sense but at least hoped it was encouraging. |
