He had wanted to visit professor Lawson - wow it was so strange calling her that - to speak to her about something important but he hadn't had the time previously, especially with everything going on around him. seemed like his life was a whirlwind of stuff and it had finally slowed down enough for him to fully enjoy the company of his once favorite professor. That and he was bored of doing homework and needed a break.

Moving his bag to his other shoulder he frowned as he approached the door. Seeing another girl there he grinned, nodding to her as he too knocked on the door, sticking a sugar quill into his mouth.

Iliana walked over to the door, opened it and propped it open. The fireplace was roaring inside and she had to get a little air circulating. "Good afternoon, Alex," she said. "Come on in."
Now for the "technical" explanation. "I hope this doesn't gross you out," she said before beginning. "Cats aren't capable of separating the meat from the fur and bones before eating. So they're stuck eating the digestible parts of their food along with the indigestible parts. Eating grass triggers the natural process of regurgitation of indigestible foods which would otherwise obstruct the system. It can be very beneficial to the cat," she paused, looking down at Destiny to make sure that she understood.

"The shoelace was probably an accident. I'm sure he ate the grass to feel better."
Iliana listened closely as the young Gryffindor interpreted her Destiny Number. She was highly impressed!

"That was a wonderful reading, Katherine. Great interpretation," she said. "I haven't done my own numbers since I was married. It was so nice to hear."
With the door still propped open, Iliana glanced over and waved Brody inside. "Hey, hun," she said.

It didn't take her long to notice the Gryffindor colors that had been added to her attire. "Nice hair clips."
Now that was the Destiny number that she'd grown used to hearing and learning about. "That was great," she said when Ellie had finished.

"Why don't you two return to your Arithmancy professor and ask her whether or not a person's destiny number changes after they take on their married name." Of course, she knew the answer to this but it was something interesting that the girls might like to learn.
Iliana turned towards the door just in time to see William walk up and knock. "William!" she exclaimed, happy to see him. "Well this IS a surprise," she said. "Please come in."

"Hey Professor" Brody beamed as she stood before her favourite teacher. Hehe. She really did like Profesor Lawson an awful lot. She giggled as the teacher mentioned her hair clips, as she automatically felt them in her hair with a little grin. "Gold..." She shrugged, she loved her best friend, and so she wanted to prove it. hehe.

But then she remembered what she was really here for. "I was wondering if you would help me with my History of Magic Homework?"

"Gold, huh? Giving you a little Gryffindor pride? Well, I'll have to remember to thank my prefect later for doing such an outstanding job in supporting her House." Iliana smiled brightly and clapped Brody on the shoulder.

Hmmm... more "History of Ili" questions, she thought, hearing Brody's request. "Well sure," she answered. If she could help Arya, then surely she could help Brody too.

Brody giggled at what Iliana was saying. "She loves her house....almost as much as she loves me." The blonde giggled at her favourite teacher. "But...she could give me a red and gold dress and I'd wear it. She's my best friend." Hehe and he loved her.

Yeey. She was going to help her yey. "Oh...you're brilliant." She assured the teacher with a big grin. "I jusstt need to know about your history here at hogwarts."

"Thank you, Professor." She said, very proud of herself...

"Personally, I think that the fact that you get married is a LARGE change in your Destiny number, not your Personality number, but the Destiny one...loving a person the way married people do changes everything in ones life, our hopes, our wishes...sometimes it changes our own person. So, why wouldn´t change, arithmancy-ly speaking, the adding of a surname to our name?...Sorry about the speech, but a have been thinking about this a while and that´s how I decided to include the "Lawson" name" She said, politely. "I would ask Prof. Hadley anyway. Thank you for your time, Profesor. See you next class."

William smiled as he nodded, "Hello professor, I thought I would come in and say hello." he said cheerfully, removing his sugar quill and putting it away for later. He'd missed coming here, it always relaxed him coming here and breathing in the fresh air. "How have you been?" he asked politely, wanting to have a chat before he asked what he came to ask.

Ellie listened to the other person who also asked about Professor Lawson's Core numbers, first before answering.

"I agree, though, it does say in the textbook to use the name on your birth certificate, correct? Because... well, that's when you have a destiny. When you get married and such, you're only taking steps to fulfill that destiny, I think." She was surprised she had even managed to say what she was thinking into words. And it made sense! At least to her it did.

The other girl calculating Professor Lawson´s Destiny number gave her opinion about the matter, like a debate. She turned to talk to her.
"I know! But I couldn´t pass out the fact that Prof. Lawson IS married and that interfere with her destiny...I do agree with the birth certificate thing, but I would ask Professor Hadley about it, anyway." Then she turned to Prof. Lawson "What do you think, Professor?"

Aiden finally made it to the small hut. Over the duration of his first year at Hogwarts, he had actually never been in the hut that belonged to his head of house. Well. Perhaps that was a good thing, seeing as this meeting wouldn't exactly be the greatest. He cleared his throat and knocked on the wooden door, waiting for Professor Lawson to open the door, perhaps with a friendly smile which he would eventually wind up erasing by the end of his visit.

"Could you be more specific?" Iliana asked, hoping to get an idea of what Brody wanted. "I'm more than happy to answer any questions you have."
A smile seemed to have taken permanent residence on Iliana's face. She was elated that William had come by. "I have been... " Fantastic, exhausted, happier than she'd ever been "... good," she answered at last, trying to avoid getting too personal. She highly doubted he wanted a repeat performance of his last visit. She'd been an emotional wreck.

"How have you been?" she asked in return.
"You've obviously put a great deal of thought into this assignment, Katherine." And when you got right down to it, that was what learning was all about. "I commend your efforts."

Professor Lawson gave Ellie a quick nod. "That's correct," she said. "As it appears on the birth certificate," she quoted from memory.
She motioned Katherine towards her so that she could address the girls together. "Girls, in Arithmancy, a commonly asked question is what effect name changes have upon our destiny. Your "official" Destiny number, the one based upon the officially recorded birth name, suggests what you must achieve. Your birth name, and the number associated with it, stays with you throughout your life."

"Though that's not to say that Katherine isn't correct in her calculations. You see, each different name that we choose to use during our lifetime can send out its own meaning. When your name changes, by marriage, even a new nickname, your talents and abilities are enhanced or modified by the new Destiny number. Both numbers will be accurate to you." Goodness she hoped she was making sense. Arithmancy was much easier taught with a blackboard.

Allowing the information sink in, the professor excused herself to answer the door.
"Good afternoon," she said. "Please come in."

Ohh..

It was time to get technical and stuff.

Ignoring the fact that this explanation might be gross, Destiny looked up at the Professor, nodding as she talked. Well, it wasn't as gross as it was weird. Why did the cats eat things if they couldn't digest it? "So..basically, they eat grass so they can throw up, right?" she asked, now looking at the cat in her arms. See? Sly was not being bad when he ate grass, he was making himself feeeeel better! She was sooo going to tell Evelyn this.

At the mention of shoelaces, she glanced down at her feet then up to the Professor. "Do you have an extra pair of shoelaces?"

She was quite tired of walking around without them.

As if he could get rid of his smile right now as he was in his element, well one of them it seemed. He remembered all too well the last time he had been here, it had been strange at best. But he was glad to see she was now a lot happier than before, which was good. If she was happy he was happy. "That's good I'm glad." he replied, tilting his head as he smiled once more.

How had he been? Well that was a loaded question he mused, pondering the truth. "I've been good I guess. Kind of disappointed with the lack of Potions. But that's not your problem." he stated, crossing his arms as he stood there easily. "Actually I came to speak to you about Graziella. The Crup you let me have a few terms back" he said, reminding her of his charge from previous times, getting to the point since it seemed she was rather busy.

What was she saying?

"So, we're both right?" Ellie asked. Well then...

Hmm. More Specific. Well Brody knew that she wanted to like ask her teacher questions that some other people wouldn't ask...and she had a feeling that most students would probably ask about when Professor Lawson had been a teacher...so She'd ask something else hehe. "Umm...can you tell me about some of the moments you've had here as a teacher?"

"Thank you," Aiden said as he walked into the woman's hut. He glanced around the place, catching glimpses of books and moving photographs. But his eyes returned to Professor Lawson when he noticed the lull. Guess it was his turn to speak to her. "Right, erm.. well, I suppose I better just get to the point." He rubbed the back of his neck. Here goes.

"See, this guy Patrick Dubois.. well, he and I got into a fist fight. We were both pretty beaten up by the time our friend Ella, whom we both were actually fighting over, happened upon us and broke it all up." He linked his fingers together. "After Healer Moretti fixed us up in the hospital wing, Professor Truebridge came and deducted points from our houses and gave his Slytherin students punishments.. I say 'students' in plural because Ella and another Slytherin also were in a fight that I was unaware of." Eh.. So much talking on his part. He wasn't used to it. "In the end, Professor Truebridge deducted ten house points from Gryffindor and Healer Moretti docked five." He figured the punishments and house deductions for Patrick and the girls were irrelevant, so he neglected to mention the specific amounts. "Professor Truebridge then sent me here, to you."

Aiden kept his eyes on hers and drew a breath. Gahh. "I understand that I was in the wrong, so if you would give me my further punishment, I'll accept it with no controversy." He slipped his hands in his pockets. Wow. Only now did he realize that he had been standing this whole time.

Hearing the faint cries from the back room, Iliana excused herself momentarily. When she returned, she was carrying a sleepy-eyed, little Ava on her hip.

"Sorry about that, Destiny," she said, hoping they hadn’t found her too rude for hurrying out of the room.

"To answer your question, Yes. Nothing at all is weird about your kitty eating grass." She smiled, watching Ava try to reach out for said kitty. "Though if you see him doing it again, feel free to bring him by my office. I have a tonic that will settle his tummy."

She pulled out a neatly wrapped pair of shoelaces from her pocket and held them out to her. "I grabbed these while I was in the back room. I hope they'll work."
Iliana nodded and smiled. "I'm sure potions will resume," she said confidently. Things always had a way of working out at Hogwarts. Even in the strangest of times.

"Right, Graziella. I remember," she replied. "How is she getting along?"
Iliana had LOTS of memories of Hogwarts. Some bad but most were wonderful.

"Most of my memories are of you lot," she said. "All the things we've learned together. The way your faces light up when you learn something new."

She went a bit glassy-eyed, running her fingertips through the curls of Ava's hair. "I think the one that will stick with me forever..." she said softly as if lost in thought. "... was the Dragon lesson. What a truly breathtaking creature." ALL of the Hogwart's students seemed to love the experience. Along with some of the professor's as well.
Iliana sighed. She was appreciative of his honesty though wondered if he'd have been so forthcoming had he not been ordered to her by Professor Truebridge.

After a long, even stare, the professor finally cleared her throat and spoke. "What disturbs me most is this tendency for violence. Points can be earned back... bad choices, on the other hand, can hold a much higher price." Explanation aside, she wanted to know WHY. "Am I correct in assuming that you realize younger students look up to you?" she asked, holding Ava closer as if protecting her from his answer.

Dylan took a deep breath and knocked on Iliana's door. He hadn't really seen her yet, and he could do with a random talk.

Hearing the door, Iliana put her index finger up and said, "Hold that thought..."

She carried Ava over to the door and opened it slowly. "Why hello, Dylan!" she said, brightly. "Please come in."

"Professor Lawson," Dylan smiled. She had a baby. How cute. "What an adorable child." This was hers right?

Awwwwww! That baby was SO cute. "Awww...she's so cute Professor Lawson." Like totally cute. mhm...better keep away Torin wouldn't really appreciate her wanting a baby right round.

"You did a lesson with a dragon!" Her eyes widened, before she giggled a little. "Oh I wish I'd been here for that lesson!" Professor Lawson should totally do it again haha. "It's so cute that most of your memories are of us lot...because like it shows that you really care." And she liked that hehe. She was pretty sure that Professor Lawson was the most caring teacher at the school. "So I assume you've made lots off friends here?" She asked, because she was sure of it, she was such a friendly woman.

Aiden blinked as she stared at him. Though it didn't seem to be in a mean way.. more in that way that inevitably made one feel guilty. Heh. He listened silently to her words of wisdom. Okay, she was right. But, Patrick was such a git! He wasn't just going to lie down and take his rubbish. "I suppose so," he answered her question. He hadn't ever really given much thought to the fact that younger kids would look up to him; he was nothing out of the ordinary.. perhaps her just figured they'd have plenty of celebrities and quidditch captains to idolize instead.

Hearing a baby cry, Destiny couldn't help the smile that formed on her face. She hoped, as Professor MorganLawson went back to check on her, she would be able to FINALLY see her! The smile turned into a grimace as the Professor returned with the "baby" on her hip, and she waved off the apology.

"Professor?" she started, as she staaaaaared at this "baby", "Are you SURE that's a baby? Isn't it kinda BIG!?" Destiny knew what a baby was, and that thing that she was holding was NOT a baby. It was a miniature ADULT!

She hardly cared for the information about her cat anymore. She was too busy staring at the miniature adult. When she went to grab for the cat, Destiny held him out for the "baby" to touch. Sly..he had to be the laziest cat on the planet, and no matter what this "baby" person would do to him, he wouldn't move..at all. She nodded as the Professor mentioned bringing the cat back, "Don't worry. I just won't let him outside anymore." she told her. Not until the cat learned his lesson.

Ohhh! Professor MorganLawson was the BEST! Destiny smiled and graciously took the shoelaces from her, "Thank you, Professor!" she said, then plopping right there on the floor, she opened the laces and started threading them through her shoes.

Shoelaces! Finally!
