Potions: Bottle Fame, Brew Glory, and Stopper Death http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/a...nna_siggy2.jpg Presented by: Anna Greingoth-Newell & Nico Toussaint of GothSaint Enterprises, LTD. The lovely Touz was nice enough to make this for us: Text Cut: Nico and Anna Anna: Anna Banana Nico: Con_Stripes Interested in a career in the Potions industry? Ever wonder how to apply all the material you've learned in class to your everyday life? You've come to the right booth! Somewhere towards the back of the room, Nico Toussaint and Anna Greingoth-Newell await you at the Potions booth. Before you get to exploring the brews and bottles on the table, check out one of the pamphlets (outside, inside) fanned out across the front of the table. When you're done looking through the pamphlet, you can view and test a sample of potions lined up across the back of the table. Nico and Anna are both available if you have any questions or comments or if you need any help testing out the potions. Potions available to test: Quote:

She had not seen this booth, when she had arrived to take a peek at the Job Fair. Had she missed it? Gold was immediately attracted to it, not half as much by the fact that it ran an association with Potions, as by the fact that it reminded her, as did all other things Potions, of Professor Kazimeriz. She frowned slightly, and decided there was no need to go over. She was not going to run into Professor Kazimeriz, there. But then she could not exactly pull away, and she lingered nearby, and in the end she had walked over to the booth. No idea why. She gave the people in-charge, over there, a little smile, and then wondered if she should pick a sample potion, and help herself to it. Why was she here? |
Selena picked up a pamphlet and leafed through it. It was certainly beautiful and potions was quite a fun subject. continued to scan it. She glanced up at the vials of potions. Should she try one? Selena decided not to and continued to read the pamphlet. |
Text Cut: SenoritaMaxie and xiiWishiWasYours Anna wasn't quite sure what to expect as she stood at the Potions booth waiting for the students to arrive. The last time she'd been at Hogwarts, she'd been a student, and she'd known exactly what to expect then. Now, she'd been away from the castle long enough to become a wife and a mother---and a Potions Mistress, of course, which was the very reason she was even here today. At least Cale was here....and Nico, Evee, and maybe even a few others. She'd heard Clifford Carden and Copernicus Kettleburn were around here somewhere, too. She was lost in thought and thinking about the good old days when the first two students arrived. Of course she knew neither. They'd probably come to the castle after she'd graduated. "Hey! I'm Anna," she greeted. "Why don't you try out some of the potions samples we have? Or...you can have a pamphlet if you'd like." She waved a manicured hand toward the pamphlets fanned out across the table. |

"Self-supported potioneers have to get their concoctions registered at the Ministry, don't they?" She glanced up, thoughtfully. |
William didn't know why he was even bothering with the job fair. It wasn't like he was interested in anything, well he was but since that new professor had come around he'd been thinking of changing his mind. He needed something to wow him again, to make him love the subject he just recently fell in love with. Without all the bangs and whistles. Walking around with a rather bored expression on his face he stopped, staring off into the back of the room. He could detect the faint aroma of potions and he began to smile a bit as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans, a blank expression of his face as he approached it. Glancing up at the two wizards - they were obviously legal age he knew - he nodded to each one, not saying a word. Right now he wanted to browse, see what was actually happening. The potions he was looking at were somewhat simple; he'd made the shrinking one last term with an added ingredient. Looking at the one potion though he frowned; love potion? "Excuse me, I thought Love Potions were illegal?" he inquired, turning his gaze away from the potion to look at the woman. |

"They do," she said, answering the girl's question about self-supported potioneers. "The thing is, lots of them don't. That just opens up another job in the Potions industry, though---people who check that kind of thing regularly and fine or penalize if any regulations aren't being followed through with." Quote:
"It's just a weak sample for demonstration. It'll barely even have an effect on a person," she said. She paused for a few seconds and placed the phial back where she'd found it. "The thing is, though, it's important to be educated on all potions---illegal or not. Especially if you're working in the Potions industry. You need to be able to recognize any potion and know exactly what it does. Looks like you've already got that down pat, though." |

He nodded, listening to her explanation. It made sense, if she had brought a powerful love potion to Hogwarts there'd be all these boys and girls going gaga over each other. Mayhem would ensue yada yada yada. "I understand, I find it very difficult to be educated on Potions right now." he said softly, no need to mention the fire loving potions professor at that moment. "I've had to teach myself over the summer, borrowing a book from my cousin, you remember her probably Ariana? She's a dragon trainer now and has a few potion book full of interesting potions which include all sorts of different love ones." he explained, his eyes moving to the potion in question knowing he'd never try it. His eyes flickered to the potion on the end his eyes curious. "Is that an actual aging potion? I've never seen one up close before." he asked, already enjoying himself immensely, glad he had decided to venture out after all. |
Grayson hadn't thought much about checking out this job fair thing that people kept talking about, especially since she wasn't sure what she wanted to do after graduation. It was difficult, since she wanted to be part of the Wizarding world and most of her family was outside it. But, not having a lot to do at the moment, she wandered inside the room, Draco peering out of her school bag as usual. The ferret had been acting weird since she'd gotten to Hogwarts, so she was trying to let him go wherever she went when she could. Obviously there were some classes that she wasn't about to subject him to. Like Potions. As she had that thought, she looked at the booths and saw there was one for the very subject. Making a beeline for it, since it was a possibility for her as long as they didn't mind pranks, she came up to the table with a grin. "Hi William," she said as she saw her partner from DADA at the table as well, and heard his comment about getting educated in Potions. Sending the boy a curious look, she then looked at the people behind the table. "Hi. Did you know that our professor is kinda crazy? And really scary," she said, as if she was trying to explain. "Is it possible to go into potions as a career even if you're just working from your own aptitude? Like, could you do stuff even if you avoid the class?" She knew Potions was one of her best subjects, but she wasn't sure she could handle many more classes with Professor Lafay. |
After finishing about half of two homework assignments each, Katie had decided it would be alright to take a break when she began losing focus of whatever it was she was writing about anyway. A little walk, and she'd return to her dorm with her books and parchment. Or a little walk is what she had thought to do, until an envelope had fallen out of one of the books; an envelope holding a letter she had forgotten all about. So off she went, spending the break she had given herself trying to find James Maguire. He'd promised to help her send that letter, which she wasn't even sure he remembered. But it didn't matter if she couldn't find him. Katie was not going to the owlery on her own, and she was not asking Matias to help her - Legend being the furthest thing from an option, considering it was ABOUT him. Honestly, Katie wasn't even sure why she was going to send it. She thought about just forgetting it - and had unintentionally done just that, for about a week, - the possible receiver of the letter probably wouldn't have a clue as to who wrote it or why, after all it had started with a promise made what.. three years ago? About then. But still, the nagging feeling refused to leave; did she really want to send it? Katie didn't think so. Maybe her insides thought otherwise, though. Maybe they knew better then her? They must, the fourteen-year-old decided on her little journey around the castle. Instead of finding Jae, the Gryffindor she had gone about searching for, the rather small Hufflepuff stumped on to the ground floor and blinked several times as she neared, a moment passed before the booths, clutter of students and other people clicked. In truth, she had forgotten about the Job Fair and signs, her mind set on homework and other things. But now that she was there, welll... might as well browse, right? Even though she had a good idea of what she wanted from her future, looking around and considering the possibilities couldn't do any harm. She was only a Fourth year, anything could happen by the time she graduated. Glancing at few other displays on the way, Katie headed toward the Potion's booth. She wasn't very interested in the other subjects so far, besides maybe Culinary but that was more linked to her family rather then her future; Potions on the other hand, Katie found to be somewhat interesting. Atleast for today, when she didn't actually have to sit in Potion's class. Ooooh, and lookie there! "Hiya Willie," Katie greeted, a sweet smile playing on her lips as stopped at the Ravenclaw's side, turning her attention to the pamphlets set out when she noticed the Potion people behind the table and paused mid-reach, not expecting to see anyone she would recognize and especially not the Head Girl from her First year. "Hi." |
It wasn't like he was looking for anyone. No. Because no one was important enough to waste his time on. Except for Mat....and Cy but...Mat didn't look like he was here and he hadn't seen Cy in a while. Hands pushed in his pocket Legend made his way through the job fair without much thought. Why was he here again? Oh yeah he was bored. He probably should have been doing the homework he had stacked up in his dorm. He was more than capable of doing it. He just didn't want to. Bumping into someone accidentally Legend was about to apologize but stopped. His lips came together tightly. It was only Katie. Great. Giving a small wave to the Ravenclaw that stood with her the Gryffindor gazed around the booth. Potions? What a WONDERFUL JOB. Not. And then he noticed! William was talking to HER. HERHERHEHRHER.SHHHE WAS BACK. Anna freaking Greingoth. The evil one herself. He could go and spray her with water. Or set her robes on fire. But there was already enough fire in the school because of the crazy Pyromaniac Professor. What could he dooo!?!?? Oh well. Whatever he did. It had to be big. You know to welcome her back. And idea flew into Legends head. Grabbing his wand from his pocket he pointed it in Anna's direction and quickly whispered. "Avis". A flock of small birds appeared and began to follow the old Head Girl. Legend was being NICE. He could of made the birds attack her, but nope, he was being so nice he just made them follow her until they drove her insane. Or....until she got rid of them. Whichever came first. |
Text Cut: xiiWishiWasYours More and more...and more and more...people were pouring into the booth area. Where was Nico? Anna turned to see if he was maybe chatting up a few of the other students, but there was a crowd gathering now. She really couldn't make out who was who anyway...much less find Nico amongst them all. "Selena, that's a cool name," she said. "I'm a potions researcher, which means I do a lot of research to try and make current potions better or to event new brews. Are you interested in a Potions-related job?" Text Cut: Golden Monkey Anna's face lit up just a little more when she saw that William remembered her after all. When he changed his tone of voice, though, and said that he wasn't really doing all that great, Anna's face fell. "I'm...just fine, William, but what do you mean you're not doing great? Is something wrong?" she asked. "...and what do you mean you've had to educate yourself in potions? What have you been studying here at school?" She wasn't sure what could be going on with William, but whatever it was didn't sound good at all. It was sort of difficult to carry on conversation when she knew he wasn't doing well, but Anna managed a reply anyway. "Of course I remember Ari. I haven't seen her in years, but...a dragon trainer sounds really interesting," she remarked. "Tell her I said hey when you see her, mmkay?" She turned to the Aging Potion and nodded. "Yeah, it's an Aging Potion. Do you want to try it?" Text Cut: SilverTiger Before her conversation about Aging Potion could go much further, another student, a Ravenclaw girl, walked up and greeted William. Anna couldn't help but laugh when the girl mentioned a crazy Potions professor. "Ha! I don't doubt it. There were a few crazy professors here when I attended, too," she said. Like...the time the Ministry took over and all those ridiculous Ministry employees taught them. Anna wondered if something like that had happened again. "So what makes her---or him---so crazy...and scary?" Anna shifted her weight from one side to the other while she thought about the answer to the girl's question. "Well..., the thing is, you need a pretty good NEWT score for lots of Potions job. So I guess as long as you're doing some kind of work on your own and just not neglecting it altogether, you'll be alright. I don't know if it's my place to advise whether or not it's alright to skip a class, though," she said. "Is the professor...that bad?" Maybe this was the reason William was studying on his own, too... Text Cut: D.A Forever "Merlin, that William is certainly popular," Anna thought to herself, as the second girl approached him. The more she looked at this girl, though, the more she realized that she knew her. It was possible that Anna was going to meet several people she'd known back when she was a student, but she didn't exactly realize how hard it would be to remember them all by name. She kind of eyed the girl for a moment until it finally all came back to her. "Katie Mae!" she exclaimed, a smile widening across her face. She left William's side and made her way closer to the little Hufflepuff girl. "How've you been? It's been...years! What are you now? A...fourth year?" Text Cut: Kaos.Doodles Anna wanted to say more to Katie. She wanted to, and she would have, had someone not conjured a blasted flock of birds to follow her every move. Narrowing her eyes, she turned around to see---oh, but of course. She hadn't seen Legend Chosen do this, but it had been him. She just knew it! As she turned her head and walked closer to the little Gryffindor boy, a line of birds followed closely behind her. "Legend Chosen," she sort of halfway greeted. "Is there something I can help you with? Like...show you the way to the door, perhaps?" She literally wanted to strangle the kid, but yeah---he was what? Fourteen? ...and she was twenty-one now. |
Anna & Legend XD So she did remember her! Hopefully that was a good sign. Dropping her arm back to her side, Katie smiled brightly at the young woman, genuinely pleased to see her - even though she hadn't really gotten to know Anna that well, the time(s?) they had talked were nice ones. "Hi, miss Anna! Uhm, okay. I think. It has been," a bunch of CRAZY years, .. but that went without saying. When Anna tried to guess the year of which she was now in, Katie stood a little straighter and nodded, her dark curls pinned back by a clip or two bounced with the motion. "Fourth year. How have you-" the Hufflepuff was cut off as something or someone bumped into her, dark eyes immediately traveled to the taller figure on her other side and she let out a sigh. Legend had perfect timing, didn't he? If she didn't know any better, she would think he had come up with a way to track her and just know when his presence would make her uneasy. Luckily, that was on the inside and not visible to him or anyone else. "Legend Chosen!" Katie exclaimed as he sent a flock of little birds to follow Anna's every move, nudging him in the side with her elbow because he was that close. "Professor Pilliwickle taught us to conjure flowers and butterflies just last term, and you send birds to Anna as a way of greeting? Nice. Real nice." She chided, rolling her eyes toward the great hall ceiling far, faaaaar above her head. BOYS! She was sure, ANY minute, Matias Sulo and Cyrus Andrus were going to pop out of nowhere to contribute to Legend's chaos. A small giggle escaped from the girl when Anna spoke to Legend, offering to show him the way out of the great hall. That was right, the former Head Girl had known her personal pain(s; Legend, Mat and Cy) well. It made her miss talking to Anna and Jack the terms they were around. "How have you been, Miss Anna? Are you really a Potions Mistress now?" |

"Not too shabbily," Gold admitted. "But we could do better. I sometimes think we need the old Lion!spirit back." There. She was going to be honest, and not mince words. They did need their spirit back. She tilted her head to the left a tiiiiny bit, as she listened to Anna. "So there are people who hunt out potioneers who don't register their potions?" She asked, thoughtfully. "How do they get to know that there is an unregistered potion out there? I guess it would be obvious if an unidentified potion started to cause major havoc but, other than that, what puts the concerned authorities on the right track?" Curious!Gold. |

She kept watching the lady as it seemed a lot of thought was going into the answer to her earlier question, and she gave her an innocent look as she got her answer. "If you go into research, or creating potions?," she asked. "I was planning on trying to figure out how to keep working on the subject, outside of class. It's all just kind of . . ." She shrugged yet again. At least she knew her ferret didn't have any problems with her making potions, since she had a feeling she was going to be hiding in corners with him a lot trying to study. If Professor Lafay didn't get less scary, so she felt more comfortable in class. |
There wasn't enough money in the world to bribe Nico into doing something like this. No, not at all. In fact the main reason he'd agreed to do it at all was because old habits died hard and sitting with his good friend and workmate, Anna GREINGOTH (he liked to intentionally drop the Newell part), in clear view of Cale Newell who'd be able to see any incidental winks quite clearly, was always amusing. Some things never changed. He had a good view of where Evee was too and he shot her a quick smirk. Okay, so a lot of things hadn't changed. Already, he could see the booth was incredibly busy, Anna had a crowd around her in the short time that Nico had slipped away to get some food for his son. Overhearing a redheaded Gryffindor-by-the-robes girl say something about registering potions, he clarified in a slightly amused sort of voice, "Only potions which are intended for sale or distribution need be registered with the British Ministry, particularly if you have residency in another country, or several other countries... loopholes you understand." Yes. Loopholes. They were in everything and benefitted Nicholai perfectly. He sat down and gave Anna an apologetic look over the head of the two and a bit year old wriggling around under his arm. "Babysitter cancelled." He murmured, leaning over to Anna a bit, "Sorry Kitten." And obviously since Kayla was here too, there wasn't much choice short notice. "Loopholes!" The little blond boy agreed. Almost the spitting image of Celandine, the school's head girl, his big dark eyes were taking everything in eagerly even as he went back to nomming on a cauldron cake. He waved over at his mummy and then started waving at everyone while wriggling and eating and dropping crumbs on his father. Multitasker, this one. Nico's head turned slightly and he raised one eyebrow. What was this? Celandine... in detention? He didn't quite catch the rest of whatever that little Ravenclaw was chattering on about, and decided it was probably best not to know. |
Quote:
"So if a potion is registered in, say, France, and not with the British Ministry, would it, technically-speaking, be illegal to use it here?" STILL curious!kitty. |
Quote:
"Generally speaking, sinister individuals prefer to avoid being caught or convicted for their... sinister antics." Hehe. "But in all seriousness, if something is illegal, like murder for example," Lets gloss over this briefly shall we? Nico glanced at Anna, "It won't be any less illegal, and if you get caught you'll most certainly find yourself in trouble. As for where its registered, it depends on what it is if one is to speculate over the legality of a thing. And where it is administered of course... and where the... drinker is when the effects begin to manifest." He shrugged. There were ways around such things and... probably it would be best that he did not educate Hogwarts kids on such things. But then, he was sure she wasn't quite asking if the law ceased to apply. "Wizarding law is a useful subject for a potioneer. Particularly international Wizarding law and not just those that apply specifically to the country you live in." He offered a casual grin and brushed as many of the crumbs off his pant leg as he could. |
Text Cut: D.A Forever Despite how happy she was to see Katie Mae, Anna did give the girl a slight look. Miss Anna? Now that just wouldn't do! Katie was a friend and perfectly welcome to use just Anna. "Oh, Katie...call me Anna. You don't have to use Miss," she assured. Now Legend was a different story. Anna just might have to request Legend stick to the Miss title. Not that he would listen, but Anna wouldn't voluntarily let him off the hook the way she did with Katie. Anna just laughed as Katie fussed at Legend for the whole birds episode. "It's alright, Katie. Finite," she said, pointing her wand towards the line of birds on that last note. A slight poof was heard and then a mere feather, all that was left, fluttered to the ground. She gave Katie another look, but this one was one that accompanied a little nod between she and Legend. It was as if Anna was asking, "Hmm? Is there something going on between you two?" "Anyway, I've been doing alright, Katie," she said, finally answering the question the girl tried to ask before Legend approached. "...and yes, I'm a Potions Mistress now. Nico and I have a business called GothSaint Enterprises. I'm loving my work. Oh, and I'm a wife and mother of two, as well." She smiled even brighter on that last note. Text Cut: Con_Stripes Somewhere in between all her meetings and greetings, Anna heard her friend and co-worker, baby in hand, mention something about a babysitter canceling. She just smiled at him in reply---could she ever really be upset with him? Of course not. She turned her attention to the little baby, waved a little baby-type wave, then turned back to Nico. "Mmm, it's alright," she said. She smiled again at the Kitten nickname---some things never changed. Text Cut: SenoritaMaxie Anna just gave Gold a sympathetic look when the girl mentioned needing a little more Lion spirit. "If it makes you feel any better, it seems that you've got enough spirit for nearly an entire house. You keep that spirit, Gold, ...and don't lose it," Anna remarked. "Well, I don't think there's any easy way to discover and crack down on unregistered potions, but I think it's a matter of following a lead or just happening to catch something during a routine inspection," she answered. She started to say something else to Gold...to answer the question a little more in depth, but Nico approached and provided some input even Anna didn't think she completely had a grasp on. She smiled at her co-worker before turning back to one of the other students. Text Cut: SilverTiger Anna's face went through a mixture of expressions as the girl---had Anna even caught her name yet?---told the story of some Potions professor who'd set children on fire and thrown the prefects into detention. She eyed Nico when Celandine was mentioned. She knew Cela's big brother would have a fit if he thought she'd been mistreated at all. "Wow," was all she could say at first. "That sounds pretty intense..." "Ahh, I see," she said, as the girl explained how she was trying to come up with a way to learn on her own outside of class. "Before you go experimenting on your own, be sure you know what you're dealing with. A lot of research will help you understand which ingredients do and don't mix together. You don't want to go around causing explosions or...anything worse." "Once you know your ingredients, practice all the basic potions that you've been taught in class...or already learned on your own. When you know those brews forwards and backwards, then you can experiment. Think to yourself, 'I wonder what would happen if I...' ...then just go with it. See what happens," she said with a smile. There was just something about potions experimenting that always put a smile on Anna's face. |
catching up William kept his eyes trained on Anna, his face in complete awe. She had done something with her life she realized with a quirked up eyebrow as he grinned some more shrugging, "Just some home stuff. Ariana got married, had a child and now I feel like I'm alone since everyone is surrounding her and not paying attention to me." his voice drifted off and a hurt look appeared on his face before he smiled once more. "But I don't like to think about it. Mind you I am happy but... I feel alone you know?" he replied finally before getting back to the topic at hand, "Oh well it's the new Potion Mistress, I call her fire-lady. She has me so terrified I can't do anything but pay attention. I had to watch her light three people on fire - they weren't hurt or anything - and I feel bad because I couldn't do anything about it. I wish I was strong like Milo, Raiden and Celadine are, I guess I'm just not like them." he rambled on, not really knowing why. But she had asked so he was telling. "I miss professor Kazimeriz. At least he only took off points, not hurt students mentally and physically." he whispered, his face sad now. He was about to go on and give her permission to give him the Aging Potion when he saw Grayson walk up. giving her a smile he waved sadly, "Hey Grayson, you into potions too?" he asked, quirking up an eyebrow curiously. He didn't know her well enough, just that one time in DADA but she was cool, really cheered him up a bit. Another voice taunted him to turn in the other direction and this time he grinned full out. "Hey Katie, how are you?" he asked, his eyes brighter now as he saw his cousin. And there was Legend; he wasn't sure how he felt about him yet; it was obvious he didn't like Anna though, if the Avis spell was any indication. "Legend." he said nodding curtly. Deciding it was time to test out the poison he nodded eagerly at Anna. "I'd love to try it out. I'll only grow a few years older, so like 17 right?" wonder if he'd grow facial hair he mused as he waited, practically bouncing now as the thought of taking the potion hit him. This would have to be one he'd have to try making himself; once he got permission to use the labaratory of course. Which meant a meeting with Lafay. He would do it though; after all it wasn't like he liked her or anything, just pretended too. |
to you lovely peoples! <3 Legend had to admit Anna had been a good start to bring out his talents. She got so annoyed so easily it was AWESOME! Not like Jack. Nah he was all GOTTA STAY CALM. But Anna. She was just so awesome...you know in the easy to annoy way. Not the AWESOME (like what Legend was) way. Resting his arm on Willy's should (the dude was cool). Legend just grinned. He hadn't felt this good in a while! Opening his mouth he realized that Katie was there and closed it right away. But then....he couldn't resist NOT talking to Anna! "No thank you. I'm not blind. Do you want help on finding it? I'm pretty sure you're too old to still be at Hogwarts." His voice cracked at some places but he ignored it. Was he being rude? Naaah. "Is it hard to be a Potions.....whatchamacallit?" Legend looked at Katie and then glared. If he were talking to her he WOULD have told her that he found flowers ugly and butterflies to be disgusting creatures. But he WASN'T talking to the midget so he wasn't gonna say anything. Of COURSE Anna would like Katie. They were both stupid...GIRLS. Who were stupid. AND controlling. AND....stupid.....AND perfectionist. Yeah. It made sense. Stupid Katie. Will had always been the odd one out. He actually liked hanging out with Katie. Which was fine..they were sorta related right? Or whatever. But he wasn't really part of the boy group? Maybe... he wanted to be? He wasn't that bad. He didn't get mad at his nickname. And he was pretty relaxed. Sure he didn't really play pranks but Legend could change that. "Hey Will." Legend started. "You're pretty cool." |

SPOILER!!: Connah <33 "You don't have to register it under your name," Gold said, with a shake of her head. "You could register it under someone else's. Then they will be suspect number one, and not you." Cue pretty smile. Did she mention? She was useless at this cunning!stuff. Obviously. She listened to him, then, pretty sure this wasn't the answer to her question. You know? "But if it's a perfectly okay potion, would it still be illegal if you have someone consume it, in a place where it isn't registered?" There. Now her question was better-worded. Quote:
"I'll try my best not to." She didn't think she was going to lose her Gryffindor spirit. Not now, and definitely not later. She listened to Anna and, when the Potions Mistress fell silent, asked her a question that had nothing to do with potions at all, but everything to do with general curiosity and what she had overheard other people say. Without intending to, really! "Sooo, were you a Gryffindor, too?" Hehe. |
Rearranged, it should make sense though? =D William's grin was encouragement enough for her to lean over and give him a quick hug, just because she could, and smiled in return. She never tired of seeing Will. Probably because he never gave her problems, and probably because he was just.. Willie. "Right now, I'm just great. What about you?" A slight look of amusement crossed her face when he nodded back to Legend, which vanished almost as soon as it came. "Looking into a possible career in potions?" The young Hufflepuff smiled a little brighter, nodding her curly-haired head when Anna assured her she didn't need to call her miss. "Okay." She could happily do that. Anna had just returned and still, she felt as comfortable and at ease talking to her as she did during her first year. It was too bad she wouldn't be back very long, though.. but Katie wouldn't think about that now. Once the birds were vanished, Katie stuck her tongue out at Legend for his failed attempt at whatever it was he was trying to do to Anna - she was not naive enough to believe he was really trying to greet her with birds, - and ignored his glare, turning her attention back to the older, former Gryffindor. If Katie was one to blush easily, her cheeks would be turning red just then, but thankfully they didn't and she wasn't. Anna hadn't forgotten! Katie answered her little nod with a shake of her own head, because whatever she was trying to ask was definitely not so. "It's complicated." Katie finally said, knowing Legend wouldn't have a clue what she was talking about and that it was safe to say. "You remembered the promise. I wasn't sure you would," she admitted, reaching back into the side pocket of her bag to retrieve an envelope, on the front addressed to Anna Greingoth in a rosy-red ink, Katie's favorite color. She offered it to Anna, "but I wrote this just in case." GothSaint Enterprises? That was an interesting name, and somehow she thought it sort of fit in with their line of work and stuff, in an odd way. "That's good, it's important to pick a job you'll love, right?" So Katie had been told before. It made sense, of course, so no arguement there. "You're a mum too? Are they twins?" Hopefully she wasn't prying. Katie couldn't have stopped the question from coming even if she had wanted to, it just slipped. Potions whatchamacallit? Legend was a strange boy, yes indeed. "Potions Mistress, Legend." The Hufflepuff replied, giving him a sideways glance. "Or Potions Master. But Mistress in Anna's case," her dark eyes turned back to meet Anna's gaze, adding with interest now that Legend had started the questions - sort of, "If you had to pick, what would you say is you're favorite part about the job?" |
Anna and William (Hmmm, to mention Legend or not to mention him . . .) Grayson kept a solemn look on her face as she'd waited for the Potions lady to react to the explanation of Professor Lafay and their first lesson this term. But it was hard not to giggle at the response it got. It just seemed so, well, not all serious adult and all, but potions lady did seem fairly young. Holding back the amusement, though, she shrugged again. "Yeah. It was. I had to try my hardest to concentrate on my potion, instead of letting everyone get to me. But the Howler was funny," she said, cracking a smile almost involuntarily. Professor Lafay nervous was actually really funny, even now. But she listened almost intently as potions lady gave her advice regarding her idea of teaching herself potions. "Research isn't much of a problem," she said, smiling a little. "I am a Ravenclaw. But that all makes sense." The learning the basics, then experimenting from there, at least. She wasn't about to mention the fact that she wasn't afraid of explosions. She imagined it was possible, but so far she'd been lucky. And wondering was always a strong point with her. Along with plotting. She glanced over, a bit distracted from potions lady as William finally responded to her, and sent him a little grin. "Yep. Potions and DADA. The fun stuff," she replied, to his question. His sadness intrigued her, but she wasn't about to ask. Not in present company. She imagined it was only her luck that it seemed Legend had ignored her so far. Or the fact she hadn't encountered any dust. But back to the potions lady, and she listened to the other conversations at the table. |
Maxie <33 to you too Nicholai decided to pretend like he wasn't hearing anything about Celandine getting up to mischief, and Raiden? Merlin. They were old enough to know better. He contemplated searching them out and getting to the bottom of things but figured that they would show their faces sooner or later. Mikey attempted to reach for a shiny bottle but he couldn't get free of his daddy's grip so he gave up and started making monkey noises instead. He wriggled a bit when his mummy waved at him but settled down when his daddy gave him a look. Quote:
"Unregistered is not, in the case of potions, at all the same as illegal. If it isn't for sale or general distribution, as I mentioned, then it does not need to be registered in order to use it, personal use is perfectly acceptable. It is only ever illegal if the potion itself is illegal, regardless of where it is administered." Nico answered. What exactly was she trying to get at? If it wasn't 'sinister' as she'd mentioned before then why would anyone think it was illegal? He did enjoy semantics. Still he waved it away with a casual flick of his hand "And, I should really at this point suggest that you look into Wizarding Law, there are certainly a few here in the Hogwarts library. Were you interested in a potions related career?" Which was the point of the booth after all, it wasn't about him giving legal advice on dodgy dealings. Why give away all his secrets after all? And why hadn't she asked her potions professor questions like this? The woman sounded positively angelic. Nico fished around in his pocket, extracted an odd looking piece of wood which curled in on itself and appeared to have no ends, and gave it to Michael. The little boy puzzled over it quietly, trying to make it make sense. |
Maxxeh As she walked away from the fashion booth Brody looked around the Goldy, and she found her at the potions booth. She didn't know if she really want to go into potions, but she assumed she may as well have a look at what it would entail, because her parents would want her to look at all the options...and she wanted to make sure that Goldy was okay. The blonde wandered over to the booth, her hand slipping into Goldy's as she got close to her. She hoped the girl was okay. She smiled at the woman that her red headed friend was talking to. She hoped she didn't look too rude as she just suddenly started spoking to Gold. "Are you okay Goldy?" |
SPOILER!!: Connah! <33 Oh, but she had seen enough of the Law, son! Gold wanted to say that out loud, but decided against it. There was the huge, HUGE possibly that he wouldn't get her joke. Not to mention, he was probably right. She ought to ask about a potions-related career. Or something of that sort. "So, are there potions-related careers that are sinister but perfectly legal?" She ventured, before deciding that was quite the wrong question. One she could answer herself, in fact. Which made it pointless, as well. "Ah well, forget it. I'll just read through that brochure again, if you don't mind." Because, you know, sinister!talk can get sinister. Obviously. Quote:
"Hey, Broderz," Gold said, with a soft smile. She felt the Hufflepuff's hand in hers, and was glad for it. This meant Brody cared, didn't it? Because Gold had found Evolette McKenna a - in the politest of words, mind you - big-headed person with a pretty face, and apparently no brains. Not to mention, she had dared to allot to Gold, words that the redhead had never uttered. Gold had never been fond of lies. Which was it was pretty understandable that she had no desire to meet Evolette McKenna ever, ever again. Not now, not later. "I'm fine." She grinned. "Let's sample a potion?" Rawwwrr. |
Quote:
"Errr..." She glanced at the potions. Well she was sure they wouldn't hurt them, because like that wouldn't be cool. "Sure." |
Okay, so Rafe had no interest whatsoever in potions...it was just mixing stuff right? He was more interested in the representative--Anna Greingoth! She was a Hogwarts Quidditch legend if you asked him. He read about her in the archives. How odd it was that she became a Potions Mistress? Rafe approached the booth, Oooh samples! Unfortunately, there wasn't anything that interest him. "Miss Greingoth!" Rafe said excitedly. "What was it like grabbing the Snitch right under Colin MacKenzie's nose during the 2069 All-Star Match?" |
Anna patted William on the back. "Don't worry, William. It always seems that way when a new baby comes into the picture. For a while, all the attention turns to the baby and its mother. You'll do something brilliant one day soon, though, then all eyes will be on you," she said with a smile. "Seems like you have lots of friends here, too." She glanced toward the people, even Legend, who'd crowded around William in the past...oh, five minutes or so. She just shook her head in disbelief when William described how the Potions professor had set a few students on fire. Anna had seen some pretty wild things happen during her times at the castle, but she didn't think she'd ever been in a classroom where people were caught on fire. At least no one was hurt, though... She narrowed her eyes in thought then shook her head when William asked about the Aging Potion. "Not...exactly. You'll age more to...hmm, mid-life, I'd say. Maybe even a little older. Typically, the potions results in extremely old age, but it's a mild version, so...we'll see," she answered. Anna just glared at Legend out of the corner of her eye. "Nicholai," she said, a slight stress placed on her co-workers name. She turned to Nico and have him a deal with the kid or get him out of here look. Anna was in no mood to deal with Legend Chosen at the moment. If he wanted a career in potions, fine---she'd hand him a brochure and be done with it. She had a feeling Legend was only here for hanging out with friends and torturing others---the second applying only to her it seemed. "Oh, of course you're not sure," she said to Selena. The girl couldn't be older than a first or second year, and Anna remembered barely even being sure of a Potions career at that age. "You have time, though---lots of it, too." Anna smiled at the girl then added, "It is good to look at options as early on as possible, though." Anna turned her attention back to Gold and nodded. "Yup, I was a Gryffindor. I was the prefect my fourth to sixth years and the Head Girl my seventh year," she answered. Gold looked to be pretty busy in conversation with both Nico and a Hufflepuff girl, so Anna didn't say much else. She just smiled at the Hufflepuff girl then turned back to Katie. Although she tried hard not to, Anna couldn't help laughing when Katie stuck her tongue out at Legend. Anna had called for Nico earlier...when she'd had enough of the Legend...but she also had a feeling Katie would give Legend a piece of her mind at some point and time. If Anna remembered correctly, those two had had a sort of love-hate relationship even back in their first year. Anna's face lit up in excitement as Katie produced an envelope---address to Anna---from her bag. "Later," she whispered, just before putting the envelope away in a very safe place. Then the talk turned back to work and children, which Anna was happy to discuss, too. "Twins---yes, they are. One boy, Caleb, and one girl, Sophie. They're two-years-old," she said, giving Katie a Merlin help me look. She turned back to Grayson and nodded as the girl mentioned being a Ravenclaw. "Hmm...I suppose you would be prone to having research skills then," she said, nodding slightly. "Practice makes perfect, too, but...I'm sure you know that, as well." Ravenclaws---Anna always got the impression you couldn't truly ever teach them something new. She started to say something else to Grayson, but then... ...what? Someone knew of her snitch grab in the 2069 All-Star Match? Awesome! "Oh, you don't have to call me Miss. I'm Anna, and it's nice to meet you," she said to the boy. "Hmm...what was it like? It was like...oh, I'm not going to lie to you. It was amazing! Some of those All-Stars...you could tell they thought they were going to win. Then when they didn't...and to know I had a hand in that...was just ---yeah, amazing," she said with a laugh. "Were you---here for that?" |
Fia stepped back into the job fair and noticed a booth that she had completely missed before. The EXACT booth she needed. Brewing Potions. "Wowww," she grinned as she walked up and peeked at the different bottled samples aligned in front of them. It was at that moment she noticed Gold, whom she'd not completely met before, yet her step sister was also there as well and what was it they were looking at? Love potion? Hmmmm... "Ahemmm, so we may try....any of these?" She looked towards both the young lady and gentleman on the other side of the table as both were speaking to all the students. The clearing of the throat was meant for Brody and the love potion that was being offered to her. Mwahaha. She was more than sure that the effects of the potions were short lived and nothing more. |
Quote:
"Mmhmm, you can try any of the five samples on the table. Just make sure you read the instructions before you drink one of them," she advised. "Is there a certain one that catches your eye?" Anna sort of edged the Aging Potion a little closer to the edge of the table. She'd been hoping someone would try that one sooner or later... |
Quote:
BUT. For now. "I want to try the love potion," Gold chuckled. "But I haven't brought anyone along, so I can't." POUT. Quote:
"There's something that I wanted to ask," Gold said, shaking herself out of a sudden bout of thoughts, to focus her green eyes on the Potions Mistress, again. "The aging potion. When you age, is it an actual reflection of how you will look, when you grow that age? Or how you might look, at that age?" Because Gold was SO not going to get herself any wispy, gray hair, even if it was only a potion. She was going to have super, red hair FOREVER. Well, hopefully. Quote:
It was a wonder, that the two of them had never actually had a proper conversation. She and Fia, that is. Gold gave the girl a polite smile. "I want to try the Love Potion," she told the girl, randomly. "But I can'ttt." No guys around that she knew that well. |
Quote:
"The Aging Potion just adds qualities of old age to the features you already have. For example, it just takes the skin you have now and sort of wrinkles it a little...or a lot," she said, waving a finger toward Gold's arm. "...and you hair will turn gray and maybe...thin a little. I don't think it shows you what you'll look like as much as it just tweaks what you already have." |
Quote:
"Hi! I'm Fia," she finally introduced herself as if she were pushing her way through a crowded place. Quote:
|
Quote:
But then the attention was off her, and she found herself looking around as potions lady spoke to another boy. Quidditch? "You play Quidditch?," she asked potions lady, who she now knew was named Anna. Poking a hand into her school bag as she felt Draco shift again, to make sure he didn't jump out, she blinked a little. That was something she'd never really thought of trying, but part of that was because she didn't get to see a lot of Quidditch when she was home. |
Quote:
Quote:
Then suddenly the talk had changed to Quidditch, and Anna remembered that she'd just been talking to a Gryffindor boy about that All-Star match she played in. "Oh, well, I did when I was a student. I don't play anymore, though. I was the Gryffindor keeper my first to seventh year," she answered. When the girl's bag moved a little, Anna glanced down, wondering what in Merlin's name was shuffling around. Did she even want to know, though? |
Wandering over to the potions booth, Kayla gave Anna a small nod and a small smile before turning her attention back to her son and that's when her face really lit up. "Hey little man, is daddy showing you how to brew up a potion to make your vegetables taste better?" She lent over and gave Michael a nice big kiss on the cheek before straightening up and looking at Nico, "How are you Nico?" she asked leaning over to him as well and giving him a peck on the cheek as well. |

Brochures were for reading. Obviously. Quote:

Even if it was worth getting Cale just a little worked up. Nico smirked and glanced over at the ministry booth. Hmmm. ... So tempting... Quote:
His smirk faltered just a little when Kayla came over and he smiled ruefully at her. "Just fine Mo.. Kayla, just fine." He held the little boy up with one arm and raised one eyebrow. She wanted him? |
Quote:
Her own eyebrow raised at the almost slip of the tongue. Kayla held out her hands for her son, "You want to come and play with mummy for a while Mikey?" And then she realised that she should probably check with Nicholai first. "If that's okay with you?" she asked looking at Nico and feeling uncertain for a moment. Man, this really sucked at how formal and slightly awkward they were being with each other. Michael wriggled in his father's arms and reached out his little hands towards his mother. "Muuuuummmmmy" he squealed rather loudly and probably causing everyone within earshot to wince just a little. |

Taking Michael out of Nico's arms, Kayla nuzzled her son's neck and hugged him close to her before putting him down onto the floor but held onto his hand. "Feels weird being back doesn't it?" She had noticed the look on Nico's face and really she should have just left and stop making this any more awkward then it was already. But Kayla was always a glutton for punishment. |
Quote:
Ah well. Supposedly he was working. But apparently potions wasn't as popular as it used to be. Fine by him, more business for himself and Anna. "Seen Celandine yet?" Because honestly it wouldn't surprise him if Cela had come in and said hello to Kayla and probably Evee and Cale and completely avoided him. Especially with this whole detention whatever. |
Quote:
She followed Nico's gaze and almost rolled her eyes when she saw Evolette. Kayla didn't have anything against the brunette...well not much anyway. She did hold a secret grudge that she could never make Nico as happy as Evolette seemed to. Celandine? Kayla raised her eyebrow once again and she was almost tempted to ask, why on earth would his sister want to come and see her? "No I haven't. The only person I've seen that I remember is Cedric Leone." And she realised that Nico would have no idea who that even was. Tugging on his mother's hand trying his hardest to get her attention. Michael yelled out, "Mummy, I'm bored. I want to go and play with the goblin." She looked down at her son and almost laughed. She was pretty sure that Femlok was not into playing children's games especially with a boisterous two year old. Kayla looked back at Nicholai and smiled faintly, "I guess I should head back then." |
Anna!!! :D After visiting a nearby booth, Chris realized just how long he had been down in the Great Hall marvelling at all of the jobs an adult wizard or witch could possibly have. The choices were endless. How did they expect you to pick just one?! He had been very tempted to run up to the Gryffindor Common Room to rest for a while before making his next attempt at stopping at all of the booths when a colorful and bright stand labelled, 'Potions' came into the seventh year's view. Now he wasn't the best at potions but hey, they were still interesting. Walking over to the booth wouldn't hurt, were those free samples?! Wide-eyed and curious Chris walked over to join the small group of others standing around the two people working the booth. Nodding to the man behind the counter Chris stared dumfounded at the woman in front of him. Merlin's golden snitch! "Anna?! What are you doing here!?" The Gryffindor nearly jumped over the booth's counter in his excitement to see his close, old friend. |
Late post is late. Quote:
Glancing at the aging potion again he nodded, "Sounds like fun. I'll try it." he said cheerfully, crossing his arms and flexing his fingers a bit. He wondered what he'd look like a bit older than what he was now, he couldn't really picture himself older than what he was now, but hey he had to be curious. Ravenclaws always were, right? And besides, it was for science. Yes, he had to test it out. |
x3 I come play. Raiden had spent the better part of the day avoiding this job... fair... thingy. It made him twitchy. He was a sixth year, he had just turned seventeen, and he had no clue what he wanted to do after he left Hogwarts. This job fair thing made that glaringly obvious to him. It felt uncomfortable and stressful. So he'd avoided. However, he'd finally gotten bored and managed to talk himself into it. Good thing, too. As soon as he'd wandered into the area, he'd spotted a few rather familiar faces at one booth, which had immediately put the 'you should be worrying about your future' thing out of his head. He approached the booth quietly, hands in his pockets, and watched as Anna talked to a few students here and there. A smile twitched at the corners of his mouth, and he was going to say hi, but... well she was busy with other people. So he'd bother Nico and Miss Kayla instead. Except Kayla was... holding... Blink. Well. "Er... hi," he said as he looked from the toddler, to Miss Kayla, and then to Nicholai. One hand slipped out of he rubbed the back of his neck, a smile creeping onto his lips. "Haven't... seen either of you in a while." Apparently. His eyes strayed to the toddler again. |
Quote:
"Indoor voice, Michael." Nico gave his son a stern little look, though he was always actually pleased when the boy spoke well at least. No choo choo's or baa baa's for HIS son. "I suppose you should." He agreed, looking at Kayla once more. Quote:
"How are you Raiden? It has been a fairly long time." Since... before Mikey was born as it was. And Raiden himself was not such a child anymore. |
Anna and Con :P (sorta. Mostly Anna) The mischievous look on Grayson's face had evolved into a bit more of an unreadable expression as Anna continued to talk about experimenting with potions and everything. Moreso because she was taking it all in, and starting to plan how she was going to go about teaching herself potions. Even if she decided to go back to class at some point, experimenting on her own seemed interesting. "Of course," she said simply, in response to the comment about knowing your ingredients. "Knowing how things interact with each other is good too." Of course, sometimes it was fun to mix things intentionally to create a mess, but she hadn't done that in a while. For a moment, she got distracted as the guy with Anna behind the booth seemed to interject his own comment into the discussion, and her green eyes went to him for a second before another grin split her face. "That helps too." Definitely. Luckily for her she'd always been told she had an aptitude for potions, but then, it could have just been her uncle commenting on various things she'd gotten into. Successfully. But then Anna had gone on to respond to her question about Quidditch, and Grayson's attention went back to the older girl. "Oh. That's cool," she said. "I don't really play. Kinda hard when I can't practice outside of school." And that was just this side of a lie. She'd just never tried to play Quidditch, even though it looked interesting. She'd always found other things to get into. But then she saw anna's eyes go to her bag, as she'd dealt with Draco's fidgeting, and she looked at the older girl again. "It's just my pet ferret. He gets restless sometimes," she explained, unsure if Anna wanted to know, but not afraid to explain anyway. She saw no reason to hide Draco, except for when it came to certain professors. |
Quote:
Actually she had. Which just goes to show, that she could be an absolute idiot at times. "Right" she said quietly and picking Michael up once again and placing him onto her shoulders. "Just let me know when to bring him back over or you can just come and get him." Quote:
Noticing where he was looking, Kayla could not help but smile even brighter at him. "Raiden, this is Michael...our son." She glanced at Nicholai for a moment before returning her gaze back to Raiden, while she jiggled Michael's hands. "Michael, say hello to Raiden." "Hello Rai - den." The little boy said cheerily, managing to pull his hands out oh his mother's grasp and waving at the Slytherin. Kayla brought her hands up so that she could hold onto Michael so that he wouldn't fall off her shoulders. "It has been a long time" she agreed, shifting her weight slightly. "I hear you're Prefect. Congratulations." |
You and You. Hehe. Raiden couldn't stop looking at Nico and Kayla's little boy. He'd known they'd had a baby, but... well he wasn't so much a baby anymore. And he... looked definitely like a Toussaint. Oh Merlin he was old enough to talk properly and everything. Raiden grinned as the little boy said his name, returning the wave with almost as much enthusiasm as Michael. "He's so big, already..." he murmured, almost sounding amused. Somehow, it had never clicked in his head that Nico's baby would, like himself, be growing. Tearing his eyes away from the kid, he nodded at Miss Kayla. "Since fourth year... I dunno why they'd ask me, of all people, but they did." At least he was getting a little better at his job? Yes. He'd go with that. "I've been... well." The previous term aside. That had been decidedly not okay, and he had the scars to prove it. "Besides a... slight issue this term, everything's been okay. How have you guys been?" He glanced at the table, not really having... registered what the booth was really for, and bit his lip. That. That was an unpleasant reminder. |

Miss Ameh "Yes they don't stay little for long" she said smiling and gripping her son a little more tightly because he insisted on wriggling around on her shoulders. Kayla tilted her head back so that she could look at her son even though she was looking at him upside down. "Michael." Her tone was low and firm with a slight growl in it. The toddler stilled immediately. "Thank you." She brought her head forward and looked at Raiden with a slightly exasperated look. "Why wouldn't they ask you? From what I remember you work hard, you respect others and you stay out of trouble." And then she laughed as she remembered something. "Well except for that time when you almost got detention. Do you remember? That day Celandine decided to slide down the staircase?" At the time Kayla had been extremely annoyed at having been placed in detention for something that wasn't even her fault but as she looked back now, she had to admit it was kinda funny. Well...sorta. She couldn't seem to look at pixies the same way anymore. She raised her eyebrow at the Slytherin, it didn't seem as though things were that okay. Kayla was about to ask but then he asked them how they were. Now how did one answer that exactly? She spared another glance at Nicholai before returning her gaze back to Raiden and she shrugged her shoulders. "Okay, I guess. Busy with work and Michael...and stuff." Eh vague but true. |
Nicholai just nodded where he needed to and sat there quietly while Kayla and Raiden caught up. His eyes strayed to Mikey a few times, very watchful but also quite sure that Kayla was doing fine. She was a good mother most of the time. Raiden was looking antsy though for some reason, and Nico fixed him with a speculative look. |
Grinning, Raiden shrugged at the prefect question. Why wouldn't they ask him? Really? "I may follow the rules most times, but I wasn't particularly good at enforcing them, at first," he said, before wincing slightly. Detention. Ugh. "I got detention too, I just... I got off easy that time." As in, he'd pretty much guilted himself so hard by thinking he was somehow at fault that he'd managed to make Trel feel bad for him. Good thing too, because she'd not taken mercy on any of his friends. He should have admitted he'd gotten off easy this time too, but... well. One wasn't often half-covered in some unknown creature's angry bathroom moments. "He looks like he'd keep you busy," Raiden commented, eyes straying to the wriggling toddler. Little kids were just... so funny. "Parents are always busy, I guess." His had been too, more-so than others most times, but there had been reasons for that. Glancing at Nico, the prefect caught the look and promptly bit the corner of his lip. Somehow, the look on Nico's face brought a slight feeling of guilt into the pit of Raiden's stomach. He couldn't for the life of him figure out why. "You work with Anna then, Nico?" he asked finally, looking at the table, and the little potion things that were set out. ...oh look. Love potion. Lovely. Definitely wouldn't be touching that. |
Oh---Kayla was here, too? Anna smiled and waved at her long lost friend, but otherwise said nothing. She knew Kayla was here to see Michael and Nico, so she wouldn't interfere. She'd just catch up later. Oh---and Raiden had arrived, too. Anna smiled and waved at him, too, then let then Slytherin boy talk with Nico. Speaking of Nico, Anna glared at her friend and coworker when he simply gave her an amused look over the fact that Legend was currently tormenting her. It was times like she wished she could charm Nico a rattail, but in the end, she knew he could do far worse to her...and that he could vanish the rattail in less than a second anyway. Besides, he was her friend, and...sigh...she wouldn't dare. It was only when she heard her name, that she turned around to see---"Chris! Hey!" she greeted, heading around the booth to give her old friend a hug. "How have you been? ...and wow, you're all grown up now!" She turned back to William, her eyebrows raised in a bit of surprise. "Oh, I hadn't realized you might be considering a career in potions, William. Or, an interest outside of school, at least," she commented. Hmm...at least one person who had approached the booth was looking into a more long-term commitment in the field. "You're right, you can't be the same as anyone else, but...that's what makes you...well, unique." When it looked like William might try the Aging Potion, Anna grew quiet and waited to see if he'd actually go through with it. Anna smiled and nodded at Grayson. It seemed the Ravenclaw girl had a good understanding of what she was getting herself into. The talk turned to Quidditch then, so all thought of ingredients and how important it was to know them were pushed to the back burner for now. "I don't play anymore either," she said with a shrug. "It's sort of difficult to do so when you have a husband and two children---in other words, three children when you count the husband." She laughed a little then glanced over to Cale's booth. She gave him a little wave then turned back to Grayson---who was explaining that the movement inside her bag was just her pet ferret. Smiling, Anna added, "Oh, that's alright. Ferrets are cute little creatures." "Mmhmm...boy and girl twins," she told Katie, the talk once again turning to the tiniest of the Newell bunch. "A little more than I bargained for at such an early age, but I wouldn't trade them for the world. My mum has twins now, too---one boy and girl, just like Sophie and Caleb." ...and that's what you ended up with when your mother was just seventeen-years-older than you were. Anna cracked up laughing when Katie mentioned Cale's sideburns. "Yes, that's my husband---Cale Newell...but his real name is Caleb, like our little boy twin," Anna said, still laughing. "Terrible two's...yeah..." |
"Lucky you" Kayla said with a slight grin. "I had to..."she trailed off then shook her head..."never mind, let's just say by the time Michael came along I was an expert at looking after a baby." Hearing his name Michael started clapping his hands and wriggling around on his mother's shoulders again. Kayla chuckled at his antics before speaking again. "Yeah he certainly does" she agreed. She couldn't help but notice that Nicholai was being all broody and Kayla was pretty sure that it was her presence that was causing it. And then she heard Anna talking about children to someone and that made her think of... Well she took it as her cue to leave. "It was nice to see you again Raiden, hopefully we can catch up again another time. But I better head back to my booth." Kayla shot Nico a look and then turned on her heel and headed back over to the Gringotts booth. |
