Raven raised her eyebrow slightly at the continuing idea he had and she was definitely intrigued by this guy, he was quite brilliant when it came to understand exactly what a ball should be. "Oooh now that would be awesome! I can just see it now, it would definitely be interesting to watch the smoke come up after a twirl." She really liked that idea even more than her own.

Josey liked the masked ball idea. She had always wanted to go to a masked ball. The smoke seemed a little weird, but she shrugged, it would be kind of cool. "Or we could make it look like there was snow on the ground, or something like that." Then they would have to hope it was snowing, so the snow was falling from the enchanted ceiling.

Iris looked at the girl and nodded at what she was saying, "I know that it's a ball. But we're a school. We want ex-students to remember that it was fun to be here." She said to her plainly, ignoring the smile. "The 1950's weren't all about polka-dot swing dresses, y'know. Some of the most elegant gowns that I've ever seen were photo's of dresses and suits from the '50's."

Some of us are Pure-Bloods. "I just so happen to be a 'pureblood'. All of the vintage clothes I own are from wizarding shops. None of it's Muggle made." Iris smiled at the girl. "It was only an idea," Iris tucked her polkadot dress under her legs shyly, feeling like the girl clearly didn't approve of it, "No single idea is close to being chosen. The more idea's we put forward, the more fun planning the decorations for the ball will be."

Really, The girl seemed to be offended by her idea. Had she never seen Cinderella? Or Queen Elizabeth II's wedding dress? THEY were Fifties Gowns. Beautiful.

AND did she not know that they had balls in the Fifties? Because they DID. Hehe.

Iris looked over to the girl who suggested snow, and smiled at her, "That would be really nice, I think ... Though, we'd have to be careful that we didn't just turn this ball into a Yule Ball. We could make it work, mind." HAPPY GRIN.

This ball WOULD be awesome, because they'd be the ones making the Hall and Grounds look BEAUTIFUL.

Alex sighed, "But how many people really remember the fifties? I mean I know next to nothing about it." Then again Alex was bad at anything to do with History most days. "I mean it's a great idea just going to be hard to pull off considering the fifties were a while ago and some of us only know basic facts about it." Alex looked over to the Professors, because they were older, they did know probably. "Then again we do have two Professors who probably know everything about the fifties." Alex added chuckling, maybe it could work.

Ellie continued to listen. "I like the masked ball idea. That would be fun... Although.. wouldn't the Alums want to see each other?" She always loved masked balls. Probably because of her favorite muggle movie from like... 70 years or so ago...

Alex looked at Ellie considering the idea, "Well, yeah they would want to see how the person turned out, if the acne one is still acne covered or is acne free and if the beautiful one is ugly now or still retained that trait." Alex replied smiling at Ellie.

Ellie listened to Alex... Uhh...

"Then agian, they could wear those cute, elegant masks that you hold... And guys don't have to wear masks at all... I think it's more of a lady's thing anyway. And we have a choice between Parisian or Venitian masks... Or leave it up in the air for guests to just do... whatever..." she was using random hand gestures to explain herself. "I like Parisian better, personally..." The Bal Masque. Ahh... Bet those were the good days.

Iris nodded at the girl, "Very true. The fifties were WAY before any of our lives." She grinned as the younger girl said it would be hard to pull off, "C'moooon. There'd be no challenge or fun in it if it was eeaasy." Hehe. True though.

When the girl looked over to the Professors, Iris actually laughed. "They aren't THAT old. They'd have to be over a hundred years old for them to REMEMBER the fifties. Silly Billy." Iris stuck her tongue out playfully at the girl.

"But seriously. I really like the idea of a Masquerade Ball. It would be so amazingly awesome. You'd be able to put your own mark on your mask, and we'd be able to express the House colours easier than if we did something as specific as the fifties." Iris looked around and just smiled. Hehehe. She rolled her eyes at the two first years who started going on about masks. "C'mon... We're giving ideas out, not expanding on one. Yet." hehe.

Alex nodded to the girl, "You have a point." Alex told her smiling glancing at Ellie. "Masks would be easier with expressing House Pride..and everyone could pick out a sign that they like best so everyone would know who is who." It sounded like a good idea to be honest.

Looking around as everyone spoke of masks and such, Evelyn continued to absentmindly draw in her notebook before putting in her own opinion of the matter. "They don't have to wear masks or outfits that match the theme or anything. We could just have the layout of the place a 'masquerade ball' type of thing." she said, nodding towards one of the other girls who had spoken of the matter right before.

"And I do like the idea Patroclus had said. The thing about the smoke. Or we can have it look like a misty sort of place too. That would be good in both the inside and outside settings." Looking down at her notebook, the Slytherin sighed and turned the page. Gotta stop drawing circles.

Iris nodded in agreement to the first year, "precisely, Though ... masks could be optional."

She looked as Evelyn cut in, "Yeah... I get you. Though, I think that we should encourage people to make the effort to dress in the way that the theme is... or it would just waste our efforts. "

"Smoke would make it look more ... magical, too. Regardless of the theme we go for. I like that idea a lot." Iris looked over to the kid who came up with it and smiled at him, with a little nod. Clever kid..

She found that she nodded and smiled a lot recently. She'd have to sort that out.

"I feel like that could be kind of generic, too, though. Like, don't get me wrong, I love the Masquerade idea, but it's not the most original. I mean, we are Hogwarts. Our whole world is magical. Surely we could come up with a 'one of a kind' idea that guests are surely going to remember! We have loads of resources, we could do anything, really." Why choose some muggle idea when they could do something no one but wizards, especially at the prestigious Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Hearing the other girl, who she remembered somehow from somewhere, Evelyn nodded along, finding it hard to stop drawing circles. Best to just put the notebook down. "This is, extremely random, I know...but what about a sky/space theme? The place could be dark, but it could still be light enough to see where one is going and to see others. I mean, it could be lit by stars and such...and perhaps I don't know, have things glow or something. The idea of the smoke on the ground could still be used as well."

Yup, random. But she remembered Astronomy class for sooooome reason. "But, I still personally like the seasons theme. All four seasons in the same room. Pretty much something for everyone there, unless someone just hates the weather in general."

Alex thought about it, she didn't like Evelyn Flores, "I still perfer the season idea too, but still we need something..magical and breathtaking." Alex said not even glancing in Flores' direction.

Ellie nodded to the older girl's answer. "That would be neat. Or like an Arctic theme, where we could have the place dark, but enchant the ceiling to look, and flash, like the Northern Lights." That would be pretty!

Alex looked around nodding, "Yeah I think there's like 10 options to chose from that will be enough to give us an idea." Alex said looking around for the other's opinions, espessically if they decide to take two ideas and mix them together..

Looking at the list on the board, Evelyn leaned back on her hands and thought through each of the themes. "I vote for the season and mist themes. But if we are to only choose one, then I'll go with the seasons one." she said, tilting her head to the side slightly before looking to the Professor.

Alex glanced at the list hearing Evelyn vote first, "Hmm.. Seasons and Underwater Themes, if only one then the Seasons." Alex casted even if she was agreeing with the person she hated.

Seasons?

"Wait, enlighten me. How would seasons work?" All four seasons in one room?

"Well, we'd have Winter, Fall, Spring and Summer in one room, one part will be Winter then it sort of fades into to Fall, then that will fade to spring, and so on so forth." Alex told Ellie smiling.

Smoothing Smore's purple fur down, she stared at the list for a moment. There was a lot of good ideas, but only two really stood out to her. "I like seasons the best, and we could incorporate the enchanted garden as well as a few others."

Ellie nodded. She didn't like it much. People would be too seperated if they didn't want to go into one season... It would be unbalanced...

"And what was Arabian Nights?" Like Arabian days?

Alex looked around, "I don't really know that one, but it sounds kinda strange." Alex replied looking for someone else to explain this one.
