Selena's eyes went wide. Food! And they looked amazing! Selena was insanely jealous, how did they not blow up the place first? Selena would figure that out... after she looked at the pretty pamphlets... |
"Well, helllloooooooo there," Denny piped up at the young girl, tray of the can-can creme brulee samples in his hand. Merlin, this was exciting. Denny gave a little hop as he set down the tray near the sign. "Let me know if you have any questions. That's why we're here!" Denny leaned down a bit to whisper to her. "But ask me, ok. He's.. not as much fun." He gave an exaggerated wink and pointed back at Leo. So seeeerious, Leo. Not Denny. Nope nope. |
Torin might have died and gone to heaven. This place was the ultimate. He couldn't believe it. He was going to go to this Institute if it was the last thing he did. He picked up a pamphlet and started looking at it. This would give him more skills with Wizarding cooking. He already knew so much about Muggle cooking as it was. |
Munching on a peanut butter and jelly crisp from the friendly guy at the Entrepreneur booth, Fletcher allowed his nose to lead him to the next job table. And it just so happened to be Careers in Culinary Arts. "Mmm YES I LOVE FOOD," he mumbled to himself as he picked up a pamphlet. "Now what? Hmm, how about sampling some cupcaaaaaAAAAAaaaaaaaAaaaaAaaaaaAAAAAAkessssss?!" This was clearly THE booth to be at. Were those two dudes there really Wizard Chefs?! |

Leo scowled at his partner's comment. He was less than happy to be partnered up with the loony Denny once again, but as they had been told by their editor, it would be good for book sales. He straightened up all the little things on their table and saw one boy (Squishy) looking rather thrilled to be there as he read over a pamphlet. "Hello there, young man. Have you taken an interest in the Culinary Arts? If you have an questions about anything you see here, do let me know." Leo said, giving the young man a smile, perhaps forced, but a smile nonetheless. |

Denny picked up a sample of the creme brulee and held it out to the boy. "We don't have cupcakes, but we do have.. THIS." Denny's lips curled into a mischevious grin. If the boy hadn't read the tent sign, the effects would certainly be interesting. Quote:
Settling a bit, he pondered. "Though, I suppose if you don't want to blow things up, the best advice I have is practice." |

"I'm very interested. So how high do your scores have to be in Potions and Charms? Does it matter as long as they are decent?" Because he was pretty good at both classes, especially Charms. |

Fletcher nodded quite seriously and paused to take a breath in his rambling. Whoa, whoa this obviously WAS THE BEST table because here this world-famous cupcake author was handing him some food! FREE SAMPLES FREE SAMPLES! No warning bulb went off in this boy's head. Heh. He eagerly accepted the creme brulee with a grin and stuffed it into his mouth, whole. Fletcher started chewing and nodding appreciatively. "Tis berry berry wiiight and fufffy," he told the man. "And kind...a... I gots dis urrrge to... tooooo....." Fletcher swallowed and his eyes seemed to bulge out as his legs started dancing and kicking to the can-can all on their own. His arms even started to swirl an invisible skirt around. The boy danced right over to Torin Kane and grabbed onto the boy's shoulder, still kicking and dancing the can-can as if he was a Radio City Rockette. "Oh I get it," he called out, watching his own legs display an air of flexibility that would surely hurt later, "they're MAGIC samples! HA! AWESOME!" |

The young man glanced over to the dancing boy and smirked. "Now that is one of our specialities." Leo handed the boy a card to read. "Can-Can Creme Brulee. If you ever have the need to start dancing like the can-can dancers of France, well that is the dessert for you. And if you'd rather just have the Creme Brulee, as it's labelled on the card, you just skip the step that requires one to put the dancing spell on the dessert and it won't be added." Leo glanced over to Denny trying to get him to notice that he was being helpful, and nice to all the little students that were visiting him. He'd even test out some of the desserts later, once more people came to the table. |

"Inspiration, my dear. From nearly anything!" His eyes darted around the booth, settling on a simple silver spoon. "Like this spoon!" He grabbed it and held it up dramatically. "Sometimes... I like to hang spoons from my nose!" And so he did. Balancing it there, he continued to talk to her. "And so maybe it would be easier to hang a spoon if my nose were bigger. And then, voila! An idea for something new!" He gave a small turn, spoon swinging wildly. "Imagination, inspiration, perspiration. That's what makes good food." Quote:
That was certainly one of Denny's favorites. Quote:
Later. "Leo! Hey, Leo! Don't forget to tell him about apprenticeships!" Sure, the booth was small, but Denny, well, he was loud. |

That was going to hurt later. Quote:
Dancing HURT man. No way was he going into a career in the performing arts anytime soon. |

"Right... about... now." Looking up from his watch, he looked to see if the boy's legs had stopped kicking about. "60 seconds for a sample, no more than 10 minutes if you eat a full serving. Excellent for parties." |
Quote:

"Will do Denny!" Leo called back, rolling his eyes at the man. There really was no need to shout. "Right. So, Mister DePalma wants me to mention that he is having apprenticeships at his restaurant. There is also a Muggle immersion programme which gives you students the opportunity to go out and work in a Muggle restaurant." he watched to see the boy's reaction and then continued. "As for your question, there are locations for the Institute is in London, Paris, Hyde Park, NY, and Rome. All fine cities to be in, and great food to work with." Leo smiled genuinely this time, thinking of all the time he spent in Paris; his favorite of the cities. |
Quote:
"Are they all the same across locations? Or are some facilities better than others?" Because he would love to go to either NY or Paris. |
Quote:
"As for the locations, Paris and Rome center around their style of food. So if you're a big fan of either French or Italian cuisine, that might be the place for you." Leo smiled, realizing that this boy seemed so passionate. That was a fine quality in young man. "Anything else you'd like to know? We have samples for everyone to try and we have a station of a few desserts you could dabble around in." |
Quote:
"Ha... haha cool...." the boy breathed with relief as his legs came to a sudden, jerky stop. "You have any sample drinks over there? Heheh I'm just a bit worn out from the can-can." And where was his round of applause for such an excellent performance, eh? |

Paris was nice, but he wasn't really sure he wanted to go there. He was torn between Paris and New York. "What about New York? What do they specialize in?" He looked at the samples. "I take it that you don't have anything sugar free?" He really should be good about that. He didn't want to upset Brody about anything. She worried. |

He turned then, to the curious young lady. Quote:
He crouched down so that he was at eye level and whispered conspiratorily. "Why do you mix yourself up something yuuuummmmy," he said pointing to the ice cream and candy stations. "And I'll tell you alllllll abou it." |

Selena shook her head. No. Ice cream was bad for her!! Besides, Selena couldn't have too much sweets. The chocolate in her pocket begged to differ. Selena sighed. She took one healthy scoop of vanilla ice cream. But it would get lonely! So she drizzled dark chocolate onto it. It would balance out the flavours a bit. She sprinkled some of those colourful candies onto it. Gahh. It looked so empty. So Selena dropped several gummy bears and drizzled it in white chocolate. What the heck? It wouldn't be that bad? Selena placed another scoop of vanilla ice cream. Or else it'd get too sweet. She placed on it some more dark chocolate. After all, Selena did love her chocolate. Selena grinned at it. Nah. It was missing something... She plopped into it some muggle jellybeans. Now it looked good. But should she really be eating it? "Thanks," Selena said happily to the oter guy who had seemed quite boring. "So, are you going to tell me about him now?" Selena asked. |
