Elan looks up and smiles as he hears the door open. As she walks in, he snuggles back against the window, hoping she didn't notice he was awake. As she speaks however, he realizes she did.

He nodded as he spies her wand, which she is very adept with and the bag. He wondered what she has, but he is too polite to ask. It had been a wonderful time with her family and going to the QWC.

"What have you been up to then, pretty girl?" He really does love being with Nia and is so glad they had the chance to be together for so much time. Especially with the circumstances with his family. He still greatly misses his mother, but his dad has not returned any of his letters.

Nia slid into the seat next to Elan, and stretched her legs out in front of her to rest them on the opposite chair. Finished with playing with her wand, she tucked it behind her ear so that it helped to hold some of hair back from her face. She'd taken the time to curl it this morning - the light bouncing off the thick cascade arond her shoulders - and yet it still annoyed her if it fell forward across her eyes. She'd have clipped it back neatly if she hadn't had been so organised and managed to pack them all in her trunk.

"Well, you know, this and that. A wander and an explore. Seeing who's around." She looked at him mischievously as she spoke. Nia laughed, before putting the paper bag between them. "Oh, and retrieving this."

Samantha is looking around for someone to sit with. She has her items in a charmed change-purse and her cat in her hand.

"Would anyone like to sit with me?" she asks, hoping someone would sit with her, being so lonely.

Alex smiled as Chris spoke, "She said she loved it, but she transferred here in her fifth year. I don't think she was to pleased about it at first, but she met her husband here, and now they are married, and live in the south of France with her little baby, so..I think it all worked out for her." Alex nodded, "Yes that should be enough time, I have been here for.. a few years myself." Her mind wandered for a moment, as she thought of all the friends she had made, as well as.. enemies. She hoped that no Torin followers would be after her this year.

Alex smiled a bit, "Aww you are A Gryffie too ehh?" She asked, her blonde head tilting a little. If she had known that boys as cute as he was were in her house, things wouldn't be so bad. "No, there is no rivalry really, I would just prefer to be in Slytherin with the rest of my family, as well as my twin." She shrugged. "I am not brave, or courageous.. I just don't fully understand why I am in this house." She shrugged, "That is all really. But hey we won the cup last year, so it's not all bad." She smiled, perhaps being a Gryffie won't be so bad this year..

Alex laughed as Chris winked at her, "Well, I am sure you would have been doing great, had it not been for me distracting you, but I can't blame you. I can tend to be very distracting." She giggled, showing that she wasn't stuck up, like her words had suggested. She was half Veela, it was just naturally known that she was beautiful.

She clapped as he juggled without dropping anything! "Bravo!!" She cheered. "Yes, it does leave time for more fun!" She said giggling.

Jason followed Lavi out of the compartment but maintained a distance. Mr. Kittles trodded besides him. Lavi stopped outside a compartment and exchanged greetings. Jason stood behind him. Suddenly Lavi grabbed Jason by his arm and pulled him inside the compartment, and introduced him. Jason sheepishly said Hi to everyone.


Hi Art. How are you doing? Said Jason. His nerves were clearly a mess.

Running down the Middle Car, Samantha sees a wizard with black hair, a First Year.

"Maybe he'll sit with me," Samantha thinks. Samantha walks over to him and asks, "Hello, would you like to share a compartment with me?"

Jason was just getting used to being with the people in the compartment. When he heard footsteps behind him. He turned to see a girl walk upto her. Wow, he thought, she's mighty pretty. Just then she asked him if he would like to share a compartment with her. Why not, thought Jason. Yeah sure. Let me help you with your stuff. Said Jason to the girl. He didn't know her name yet. He turned towards the people in the compartment and said Hey guys do excuse me. See you all soon. Then he turned to Lavi and said I'll be in our compartment. Catch you later. Then he turned back to the girl, tried to look for her stuff, but couldn't find any. Confused, he looked up to her.

"Sorry, you might be confused about that. I used an Undetectable Extension Charm to fit everything in this change purse. I'm related to the Weasleys, and Hermione taught it to me, along with my mum over the summer," Samantha explained to the boy. "I'm Samantha Emma Alice Mary Wealsey, but just call me Samantha, Sammy, or Sam."

Ohh! Drats.. she knew how to do magic with a wand. But wasn't that illegal? He daren't ask. He felt incompetent. All he could do was mind magic. Thats really cool. He Said to Sam. I have to lug all this heavy luggage with me. Sigh. Why couldn't he have been more smarter. Jason surely had heard about Hermione Granger. But he didn't know much about her. But he had surely heard about the Weasley's. He even saw their Joke Shop in Diagon Alley. Wow this girl was famous. Shall we head towards the compartment then? He asked Sam. Ohh and by the way i'm Jason, Jason Strong.

"Yes, transfers happen," he said with a crooked smile. He was certainly an example of that. "Well, that is quite lucky on her side, I'm glad it worked out for her so well." He hadn't even begun to think of that sort of future yet... an occupation was the first thing on his mind.

"Indeed I am," he said with a slight bow at the waist. He smiled as she continued about the House difference. "Well, from what I've heard about the Houses, I think it just means you have something else to offer to the world, different from your twin," he said. "I tend to doubt that... you spoke to a complete stranger who was throwing dangerous objects in the air," he replied, a smile dancing across his lips. "I would say that it quite brave."

He laughed as she said how great he had been doing. "Believe me, I'm completely amateur. My one friend had six of these that he managed to juggle while asking his current girlfriend out on a date," he said with a laugh. "And another friend took forks and was juggling them during dinner one night. One of our Professors wasn't too happy, but there wasn't much he could do about it!" he explained with a laugh. "Distracting are you? Well, I shall keep that in mind if I ever need a good distraction... I guess its an advantage that we're in different years then," he said with a wide grin.

He laughed as she caught all three of them once more. "Fancy a try?" he asked, holding them out to her. "You've probably been juggling for years and are just hiding it from me," he added.

Alex nodded, she was certainly intrigued by this older Gryffindor, she had never really met another one like him. To be honest. Most of them were all.. YAY we are Gryffindors, hear us roar!! But this guy.. seemed Normal.. She smiled despite herself, and he had a cute accent as well. "Yes, I am happy for her as well, and my little cousin is soo cute!" Alex had a chance to see them, last Christmas as a surprise birthday present from her aunt and uncle.

Alex laughed a little as he bowed at her, and she have a little curtsy. It was all very proper. She however paused at his next words, something different to offer the world? She had never really thought about it that way. Maybe.. she did? "I have never thought of it that way." She said honestly, her hand moving to her long blonde hair, to pull a strand over her shoulder. She started to stroke the strand, a sure sign that she was thinking. A smile crossed her lips though as he spoke once more. "Well, they weren't too dangerous, If you had been juggling knives, I probably wouldn't have come over." She grinned at him.

"Dear Merlin!! No wonder she said yes! I would be afraid to say no, lest he hit me with something!" She giggled a bit. "Forks? The would be wicked!" She laughed a bit more. "I could see how the professor would not be pleased, but at least they weren't knives soo.." She winked.

"Yes, it is very good that we are in different years, otherwise you would get nothing done." She laughed a bit, she hadn't felt this light in a long time. "And yes, if you ever need distracting.. Come to me." She said smiling, as he tossed her the balls.

"Dear Merlin, I am sure that I suck at this.. but.." She tossed one ball up in the air, and then another, and finally the last.. And for a glorious moment, she thought that she might have gotten it.. Until..

"Ouch!!!" A ball had hit her in the head. Goodness where was her grace when she needed it the most? "So, uhh.. I think I need some practice." She said with a sheepish grin up at Chris.

Melanie lurked. That was what people did when they were bored. They lurked and wandered.

She shouldn't be bored though. She was on the train, and the train to Hogwarts was NEVER boring.

And yet it was. So, Melanie was elated to hear the voice, she caught drift of echoing down the aisle of the train.

It was quite a familiar voice, but one she hadn't heard in a long while. Any other time Melanie would have walked away, muttering something about the wind playing tricks on her.

Today she knew it was very much possible that the familiar voice belonged to a familiar person though, for she knew how to keep in touch with someone through owl.

It really could be Cadence. So, taking a few hesitant steps toward the compartment, the fourth year, opened the door a crack, peering in, just to be sure her assumptions were true. Then a smile spread across her face, and she swung the door wide open. "I KNEW it. I knew I heard you!" she exclaimed, striding in. "Cadence." she stated, staring at her for a few moments, and plonking down into a seat. "I've missed you, you know."

To tell the truth, she didn't really know what else to say. Hopefully her friend was better with words.

Melanie averted her eyes for a moment, and that's when she caught sight of the other girl in the compartment. Oops. Feeling guilty for not noticing her before, Melanie offered her a smile. "Sorry. The name's Melanie Lockhart. And your's?" she asked simply.

Bella looked up suddenly, angry, "You do do you?" She asked. Everyon says they know how she feels, half the time they didnt, She thought. Bella took a deep breath and continued, "Im sorry, im just afraid what Luke will do, he was only eight after all." She said quickly

He watched her as she slid next to him. He sat a little straighter and put his arm around her as she stretched out her legs. She looked nice, as she always did (except when her hair looked a bit like a bird's nest in the morning, which he learned staying at her parent's house this summer as she'd come to breakfast.)

He took a moment to push her hair from her eyes. He knew she hated it being there, and then gave her a little kiss on the cheek.

He listened as she recounted in vague details what she had been doing. Obviously nothing so interesting that she felt a need to say more detailed. He did look with interest at the sack and asked. "And what is that?"

Shana watched the choaticness and simply didnt do anything. She grabbed hold of Art's hand again as he pushed Blake off. WHAT DID BLAKE JUST SAY ?! Her mouth dropped open and she shook her head. "I am NOT Kissing LAVI! No...affence Lavi cause your a good looking guy and I'm sure if you found like the right girl and yeah...." she trailed off, Aww, poor Lavi. Now Art she wouldnt mind kissing so much, but she liked Jake.. "uhh why do you want me to kiss Art ?" She said, eyeing Blake. She unlinked her finger from Art's and walked over before reaching up and getting some bottled water out her bag, she walked over and sat on Blake's lap. "Now Blake. If you dont stop being the Blake Wright I know and love lots. The Blake Wright thats my older brother, the Blake Wright that's not totally looney and crazy. Im afraid Im gonna have to tip this over your head." sh frowned.

"LANIE!!!!!!!!!!" Cadence practically screamed in excitement. She jumped up and threw her arms around her best friend. "Lanie I've missed you so much! I've been waiting and waiting on you, and now you're here! And we're going back to Hogwarts! Together!" Cadence did a little happy dance around the compartment. Yep, it's going to be a great year.

Still eyeing the cat suspisiously, Adam was kinda relieved to find out it wasn't really part human. Raising one eyebrow, Adam looked back up at Lori and shrugged. Fine, if she was goning to be like that, he wouldn't question her.

As if that was going to happen. He was Adam. Too curious, nosey, and cocky to take Lori serious. But he wasn't ready for that slap. Or the fact that it came from Lori. She'd seemed sweet, and all that. But obviously she wasn't one to be messed with. "Oww," he said, batting her hand away and then raising his own two in mock surrender.

"F-f-ine, I'm sorry," he grumbled, looking at the cat. He did NOT like that thing. From now on, they where enemies. Worst enemies. After glaring at it for a moment, he looked back up at Lori and lowered his hands. His face was still throbing, but he wasn't gonna show it. "So you still want me to leave?"

Lorelai ignored him completely and shoved a hand under her kitten and picked her up. "Come on Verry, we KNOW when you're not wanted." She gave Adam a glare and grabbed for her bag, before once more gving him a glare.

"YOU can stay. I will leave. We KNOW when we're not wanted by people, in our own compartments aswell. You know, I kind of thought you were nice Ad. But, I was wrong." Hair flip.

And then she left him, basking in the fact he had even known Lorelai Bristol, ever been in the same room as her. What a great start to his life.

Standing up, Adam leant out of the compartment door as she left. "Wait, Lor! I'M SORRY!" he shouted after her, sounding esasperated. But she didn't turn around, and he slunk back into the compartment with a sigh. Running a hand through his hair, he closed the compartment door over and turned around.

He'd messed up, already. And he wasn't even at school yet. What a great start to the year. NOT. Flinging himself down onto the seat he'd just vacated, he looked out of the window until he felt pressure on his shoulder. The cat which had landed there jumped onto his knee, and he lifted it up and shoved it back into the basket. "That' sit, Hanson," he glared at the cat. "It's all your fault. If you hadn't gone for the thing, I wouldn't've ruined my chance with Lori."

So. Now she was being yelled at and squished. Melanie was really lucky she wasn't claustrophobic.

It really was sorta expected though. She expected to be hugged and yelled at.

Grinning, she hugged her back. It had been so long since she'd heard that nickname... "Hey Cady!" she replied, laughing as she proceeded to dance around the compartment. There was no way Melanie was going to get up and do that....she'd fall on her butt. It was good to see her happy though. Remembering the last time she'd actually seen her, Melanie's smile drooped a bit, but she planted it firmly back on her face.

She. Was. To. Be. Happy.

"Yeah, it's going to be great." she agreed cheerfully, looking out the window distantly, and wondering if they were about there. She wanted to be at Hogwarts so bad. Melanie didn't like being away. She wasn't sure how Cadence could have went as long as she did in Mungo's...the thought made her shiver.

Happy thoughts Melanie. Happy thoughts. Think present time. Not past, present. "It'll be great to share dorms again...I can even tutor you a bit to get you caught up if you want me to." she offered, smiling at her.

Cadence excitement waned a little bit as Melanie talked about sharing dorms. "Actually, Lanie, I only had time to get caught up enough to be a Third Year, so I'm not sure if we'll be sharing dorms or not. I don't know if they do it by age or grade. I hope we're in the same dorm, though! I mean, if not, we can always just have sleepovers!" Cadence said, getting excited again. "Oh! I have something for you!" Cadence had just remembered the present she had bought for Lanie before coming. She opened her trunk and looked through it until she found the box of Chocolate Frogs. "For being my friend through all the craziness." Cadence said, handing Melanie the box and smiling at her.

Chris laughed and nodded as she talked about her cousin. "I'm the oldest out of all of my cousins... so hopefully I'll be the first one with kids, not them," he said with a laugh. "But, we'll see what the world brings!"

Chris grinned and offered a wink. "Sometimes it takes a different perspective... in this case, a crazy American one!" he said with a laugh. "Well, you never know what these are capable of," he said, indicating the three balls. "I could have spelled them to start sparking... or who knows what!" he said with a laugh. "Actually... that's not a bad idea," he said thoughtfully.

"She knew that he wouldn't have done that... but he did have to do some convincing- but remained juggling the whole time!" he explained with a laugh. "I'll get to work on the forks... and as for the knives," he laughed. "He waited until the teacher had walked away!"

As she began to juggle, his smile was bright as he watched her. "Good... good..." but then he winced as they all came crashing down. "Are you alright," he said, stepping forward. He lifted a hand and gently touched the top of her head. "I don't feel a lump... how does it feel?" he asked, looking down at her face. He laughed at the mention of practice. "You and me both," he added with a laugh.

Oh. Melanie wasn't sure what to think about that. On the bright side she wouldn't have to worry about being a tutor... Because she was pretty sure she wouldn't be the right person to do that anyway if someone had to. She hoped they'd be in the same dorm... but if not, she could handle it.

"That's cool." She shrugged slightly. "I mean, we're still in the same house and everything." Melanie added, attempting to convince herself as much as Cadence. Heck, under the same roof even. And it was Hogwarts...

Of course the term would be good.

If it was any sort of a sign today was turning out to be a good first day. For that was the second time today someone had decided to give her chocolate. And Melanie liked her chocolate. "Wow, Thanks." Melanie said gratefully, a grin planted on her face. She set the box next to her on the seat, feeling a little guilty for not getting anything for her. "You didn't forget I like chocolate." Melanie stated, reaching for the box, a thought occurring to her. She opened it up, her fingers fumbling clumsily. Then she held it out to the compartment, the girl who had yet to introduce herself included. "Want one?" she offered, shaking it a little. "If I eat all this myself by the end of the term I'll be as big as a sumo wrestler. No offense to them or anything."

Alex laughed a little, "What the world brings huh? Are you going to end up a world traveler? Taking in all the sights, and being all by yourself for several years, before settling down?" She asked a smile on her pretty face. For some reason she could see him doing that. She.. She was the opposite, she wanted to get married, settle down and have kids. Not be a prize trophy wife, like her mother was. "I am the 4th youngest of my cousins, my three little brothers have me beat." She said with a smile.

Alex laughed more, as she shifted her weight, and decided to lean back against the wall of the train, she was shifting with it's movements, but being no naturally graceful, it looked like she wasn't moving at all. "Well thank you for your crazy American opinion, it opened my eyes!" She said laughing more. "Spelled the balls to spark? That is not a bad idea.. just make sure you are better so you don't get hurt alright?" She asked smiling.

"Wow, that is epic." She said shaking her head, no one had ever juggled while asking her out... Torin had asked her out on a moving staircase.. and Damon.. hadn't really ever gotten around to it.. She sighed softly, her eyes moving to look out the window for a second before moving back to Chris. "Well, he must had been pretty good then! No knife juggling for you, until I know you won't slice a limb off!" She nodded.

Alex nodded slightly sheepishly, "Yes, I am alright..just slightly clumsy." She said blushing a bit as he placed his hand on her head, to check if there were any lumps. She was grateful that there weren't. "Perhaps we could practice together sometime?" She asked, her smile returning.

Chris laughed at the thought of him traveling the world. Sure, it was appealing and he wouldn't mind going places... but it was the traveling part that worried him. "Well, it depends on where I'm going, and how far," he said with a smile. And what way... flying was not his thing. "I don't know about all by myself... I've always felt its better to experience new places with someone else. They might notice something you didn't," he said with a grin.

"Any time!! If you ever want a crazy American opinion- you know who to go to!" he said with a laugh. "You had them closed before?" he joked, his grin wide. He laughed as she complimented his idea. "Thank you... why? Worried about little ole me?" he asked with a laugh. Little was a bit of an understatement... he was taller than her. "But I'll make sure to edit the idea first before trying it," he assured her.

He watched as she seemed to think of something... but didn't comment. Whatever happened, it wasn't his business. "But how will I know unless I try?" he asked her, fighting a grin. "And I never liked my pinky on my left hand..." he added holding up the appendage mentioned.

Chris had done this many times for his little sister, so it was just natural for him to put his hand on her head. He stroked her head gently, looking for some sign of a lump or bruising. "Well, I'm glad you're okay... you don't know how many times I've done that!" he said with a sheepish grin. "Of course... anytime you wish. Just owl me," he said with a grin.
