HoM 2 Today, Professor Svensson had rearranged the desks so that they all faced the front. There would be no circular discussion today. Instead, pairs of desks were arranged in rows. A Muggle map of Europe hung on the board, and several stacks of brightly coloured parchment sat on the professor's desk. The professor himself stood behind his desk, looking fairly pleased with the arrangement of the room. |
Lina peeked in, hesitating slightly. History of Magic never seemed to go well for her. But, there was a giant map up, and pretty colors of parchment. Maybe this wouldn't go so badly after all. She edged in a little and waited for other students to filter in. |
With his hands curled into fists, and his thumbs tucked inside those fists, Jake strolled into the HoM room. He'd been very inattentive in the last lesson, and he hoped to make it up today, if that was possible. "Muhh-morning, sssir," Jake greeted politely. He gazed around the room and bit his lip. Where to siiiiiit? |
Torin entered the classroom and took a seat near the front. "Hello, Professor," he said as he waited for other people to arrive. |
Walking into the class, she went straight to a back seat and sat up everything she needed before she actually took the time to look around. Sooo, a big map. Were they tracking something...or something? But, this was a History class soooo....history stuff. With a map. A non moving boring map. Oh this class was exciting already! Raising a brow, since now she spotted the weirdly colorful paper on the Professor's desk, she finally spotted the Professor himself, who looked strangely pleased. It was never a good thing when a History teacher actually looked like that. Well in her mind it was like that. "Good day, Professor." |
Ooooooooh, a map! Of Europe! THEY were in Europe! Squeeeeeeee! Miranda walked into the classroom and greeted the Professor. "Good Harmonious Day, Professor!" Yeah, she was testing new stuff to say. Hehe. After saying hello, she proceeded to go sit at the FRONT where she could keep an eye on those awesome multicolored papers. Pwetty. |

Svensson glanced around at the few other students who had come in silently. He would wait a little while longer, then begin class. |
Skipping into the classroom, Lorelai grinned at the Professor and gave him a BIIIIIIG cheery wave. "Hey Professor." Her wave finished as her speech did, and she looked around the classroom, looking for someone to sit next to. Someone she knew, preferably. Taking the moment, she skipped in Torin's direction and grinned, slipping into a seat beside him. "Hey Prefect!" |
No tables in a circle today? Good, because Destiny did not want another debate. It turned into a circus last class! Not what you expect in a History of Magic classroom, that's for sure. Walking into the classroom, Destiny noticed the big ol' map hanging up and she swore she could see her house, even though there were no houses on the map..at least she knew where her house was supposed to be. She took a seat next to Evelyn and eyed the colorful parchments up, 'Hellooo, Professor!' |
Torin looked when there was someone skipping towards him. "Hi, Lori." he said with a bit of a smile as she sat down beside him. "How are you?" Someone was hyper today. |

Marie slowly walked into the HoM classroom, "Hello Professor". She was happy to see that the desks were all facing the front this time, which hopefully meant no debatig today. However she did see the map and the colored parchment. Hmmm, maybe she would rather have a debate, she really didn't feel like writing today.... or studying a map either.... really she just didn't feel like being in class. She took a seat at the back of the room and waited for class to start. |

But never mind. It was lesson time. "Oh Torin, you'll help me if I dont get anything right? Thanks," Not even time for him to answer her, because she KNEW he would help. Because he was nice. |
Adrienne walked into class, her new flats making hardly any noise on the stone floor, only to have a curious expression cross her face at the way the classroom was set up today. Especially with the map. Are we having a traditional history lesson?, she wondered, as she smiled at the professor, then made her way to an open seat near Torin and sent a smile his way. Since at least she knew him, and Phoebus wasn't there to sit with. Not that she could sit with Torin. That seat was taken. "Hi Professor," she said then, returning her attention back to the front of the classroom for a second as she set her school bag down. And remembered the comments Phoebus had made about her bag ages ago. But not the time or place for random thoughts. |
Mina strolled into the classroom and headed for the front. HoM has actually grown to be one of her favourite classes and she was looking forward to what the lesson held today. Setting up her things, she finally looked up and noticed the map and the colourful pieces of papers. Should be interesting. Glancing over to Professor Svensson, she noticed his pleased look. When a professor looked that please, something much be up. "Hello, Professor. You are looking very happy today." she smiled politely. "I'm sure you must have something fun for us today." |
Fred headed for History of Magic lesson and openedthe door to see the desks set in a typical classroom manor and sighed as he said in a ho hum mannor, "Hi proffessor and took a seat knowing this would probably be a lecture class and started skimming through his book in preperation. |
Professor Svensson clasped his hands together and gave the class a solemn nod. "Let's get started," he announced. Ignoring the map and the coloured parchment on his desk, Svensson stepped around his desk and began pacing the front of the classroom. "Who's been to Hogsmeade? Raise your hands," he said. "Does anybody have any fun facts about Hogsmeade? When it was founded, what the first building was, its population? Or anything else that's interesting?" |
Awesome. Name. Woot! So, Jake was up at the front. He liked it there. Raising his hand, Jake spoke in response to the question, his London accent coming out really thick. "It's j-j-ust dahhhn the rrroad." o.O Where did THAT come from? |
Mina raised her hand quickly. She know some of this. Her mind was actually working properly again. "Hogsmeade was founded by Hengist of Woodcroft around the same time as Hogswarts was founded." |
Quote:
Of course she had never seen this passageway and he didn't even know if it was still there but she had heard plenty about it. |
Fred made a sour face thinking if the professor thought knowing the backround of Hogsmeade was intresting this was gonna be a long lesson but he knew a little something so he raised his hand and said, "I know Hogsmeade was founded by Hengist of Woodcroft around the same time Hogwarts was founded and it was made so wzards could escape the persecution of muggles. If I had to take a guess of what place is the oldest in Hogsmeade I'd have to say the Hogs Head because that place looks ancient , Fred said with a smirk. |
Jacklyn Caroline walks quickly into the room and sees a discussion on Hogesmede. "Hogesmede is a common place for people from Hogwarts to go. There used to be a rule that you had to be at least a third year but I don't think they have that rule anymore." |
Svensson nodded. All the facts they had suggested were true, and all were fairly interesting. There was one fact that they had failed to mention, however. "Plus, Hogsmeade is the only village in Britain that is settled solely by the wizarding community. Can anyone propose a reason why this is?" he asked. |
Bella raised her hand at the Professor asking if they had been in Hogsmead. But she didn't really know much about it. She looked around her as she lowered her hand, she knew she was going to learn alot in this class. "Professor is it because Witches and Wizards all prefer to live alongside Muggles?" She asked, as a guess to his question. "Or that it's far to risky for Muggles to find out about us if there were too many villages like Hogsmead?" |
"Perhaps it is nice to just have a fun place where wizards and witches could be themselves without having to hide from the muggles, since we pretty much do that everyday." she said after raising her hand. Well that's the only reason she could come up with. Why else would someone have a place settled by the wizarding community? Kinda like Diagon Alley. Or the Ministry...but that was more in a serious sense. |
