Professor Bunbury had been rather aloof this term to say the least but here she was, standing just inside the nice warm, safe and dry greenhouse, enjoying the humid environment, and waiting for the students to show.
She didn't even mind that her red, red hair was slightly frizzing.

Meanwhile, Melanie decided, she may as well make some small talk...get to know her group better. "What houses are you guys in?" She asked the most cliché question in the book, plucking bud after bud as she spoke. Melanie would have asked them something a bit more creative, but she didn't really know them yet... and they might think she was a bit off if she asked them their favorite flavor of ice cream, or something imaginative like that. So she refrained. "I'm a Hufflepuff." Melanie added offhandedly, using her fingers to gather the buds she was pulling off into a nice neat pile in front of her.
Looking at the leave in her hand, Mina frowned. She had remembered hearing bud, but why did she think it was the leave. Setting the leave down, she pouted slightly and leaned near the plant. "I'm very sorry to have done that baby camellia sinesnis." she apologized. She didn't want to offend the plant at all.
Hoping that the plant would forgive her, she bit her lip as she reached for a tiny bud. Gently applying pressure, she plucked it and brought it up to her eye level. Giving it a quick look, she placed it before her and started to pluck some more gently. She really didn't want to make another mistake.
Glancing up at Melanie, she smiled. "I'm a Ravenclaw," she replied as she plucked another bud and placed it with the others. "I'm also a second year." She wasn't at all good at small talk, but it was a start.

Nicoletta looked around, finally awre that they were doing something. She had that lost expression you see on the faces of little kids while you're at the mall. She looked around for a group to join and hoped someone would ask her.

Even Evelyn herself was starting to think about it.

Marie was too scared to even look to see if it was bleeding! Was it numb? Did the plant eat the whole finger? If it didn't then there was hope that it could be reattached. Destiny had seen her parents put fingers back on before. 'No! I don't wanna look!' She would have swatted Marie's hand away if she could see, and if her hands weren't busy hiding her eyes. She might have missed Marie's hand and smacked her in the face instead. Then Marie would be fingerless and smacked in the face.
That would be bad.
Why wouldn't Bunz warn them about the finger eating tea plant? Unless she wanted to collect the students fingers, but that would be just plain creepy. 'I didn't think she would really try it first!' She turned to where she thought Evelyn was..unless she was sitting on the other side of her, she couldn't remember. Too much had happened.

Destiny was blind, not deaf. She heard what Evelyn had said. What was Marie going to get? Peeking an eye out from under her hands, Destiny saw there was no blood. Annnd Marie still had her fingers. Well, that was embarrassing. 'You're fingers are there!' Just stating the obvious.

Lucy was still with out a group, she needed a group to start with so she looked around to find one and saw someone still needed a partner she went to them and said "Hello, I'm Lucy Smith, i need a group can i join you'll?"
"Perfect! Welcome we now have three! Lucy do you want to go grab one of the tea plants from the Professor?"
With three members the Tea Party could begin!

"Oh." Well that was disappointing to hear. She reached over and gave Daphne a little encouraging prod. "I'm kind of thirsty now though." Neptune coughed pitifully (and kind of fake) into her other hand and gave Daphne the BIG EYED look. The take care of us, Daaaaaaaaphne look.

The smallest, littlest leaves will do, and that is all you need to do as long as you work rapidly. The Muggles who do this job do not have it nearly as easy as you wizard children."
The redhead stuck her nose up in a haughty manner and stared down and around at the children. "After you have a nice pile of baby tea leaves, we're going to dry them out with a simple drying spell. The spell involves a complicated wand motion, so I'm going to show that to you once you all settle down, quiet down, and have more leaves plucked."
And so she would wait.

Raiden had... glanced and Neptune, caught the look she was giving him, and immediately set his eyes back on the tea plant. His ears felt like they might light on fire.
"Right." Professor Bunbury was calling for everyone to be quiet and stuff, so... he didn't say anything more. Just continued picking off the plant silently, eyes not leaving the leaves.
Nicoletta fidgeted. Great, Gryffindors besides Kay and Rex, she generally tried to avoid them. Some of them were alright though. Just go for it! she thought. "Oh erm, hello. My name's Nicoletta, would you mind if I joined your group?" she asked. Well, the professor had said three OR four.
"Certainly" smiled Patroclus, "the more the merrier. I am Patroclus, this is Lucy and Emily. Nice to meet y....."
Patroclus was cut off as Professor Bunbury began to give out furhter instructions. Cool new drying spell the boy thought to himself
Ummmm yeah so Professor Bunbury scared the bejesus out of Alexa so when she called for quiet Alexa ducked her head down and continued to pluck the baby leaves off of their plant. "I told them it was the leaves and not the buds", she thought to herself.
"Drat it!" Jake exclaimed, but focused his attention up to the front of the class, anyway. though he added to the girls in his group, "I huhh-hate mmmagic."

Why was Bunz staring at her like that? She could tell it was directed to her even without her glasses on. For a moment, Destiny was scared, but when she was called to the front of the class she became terrified! Angry Bunz is scary Bunz..sorta like Kazi.

Maybe she finally realized a hug will do her good! Not being terrified anymore, Destiny shoved her glasses on her face and skipped walked up to the Professor. Standing at the Professors side, she smiled, not saying a word. She would let Bunz make the first hugging move.

This was just too much, Marie couldn't hold it in any longer, she let out a laugh so loud everyone in the class probably heard it, "HAHAHA".
If only Destiny could see the look on her face, well if only Marie could see it too. Seems Destiny was still too afraid to take her hands off her eyes. Then there was Evelyn, she didn't mean to scare Evelyn, it was Destiny she was trying to scare, but hey, two for the price of one.
Looking around for Evan she still didn't see him. Where had he gone, he was standing next to her a couple of minutes ago and now he was gone. Maybe it was a good thing he didn't see what happened, he might not have thought it was funny either.
Oh wait, Evelyn was going ot get her..... "Awwww come on Evelyn, I was only messing with Destiny. She was the one that wanted me to see if the plant would bite." It was true, if it wasn't for Destiny then she would have never done that. Evelyn should be getting Destiny back, not her.
"Yes Destiny, my fingers are here. Did you really think a tea plant was going to bite?" She was still laughing at the situation, just not as much now. "You seemed so worried about the stupid plant that I had to do something, I couldn't just let it go." Yep, that was truely a Slytherin thing to do.
Looking at both of the girls she said "Oh come on, admit it, you know it was funny. You're just mad you didn't think of it first."
She had a feeling she was going to have to watch her back around those two for awhile. Maybe not though since they were friends and friends could joke with each other, right......

WOOT! She was totally going to win. But another question came to mind which confused her. Were they supposed to stay by her side the whole time? Did that mean they weren't aloud to do the tea thing?

Gold blinked. But the professor had said buds ... oh well. The fifth year pouted a bit, then turned to her group.
"I guess we get to pluck out the leaves," she said, a little thoughtfully. She glanced at the tea plant as she spoke, then shook her head because, really, she couldn't believe she had heard the professor wrong, earlier. It was leaves, not buds. Not nice.
With a shrug of her fair shoulders, she turned her attention back to the plant. Then she begun to pluck out the tiniest, baby leaves she could spot. Hopefully, the others would join in.
"Drat it!" Jake exclaimed, but focused his attention up to the front of the class, anyway. though he added to the girls in his group, "I huhh-hate mmmagic."
Ohhhh, how he hoped they were good at it.
Alexa looked at Jake with a quirked eyebrow and just shook her head. She loved magic sooooo much and couldn't imagine why anyone would hate it. She just continued picking the little leaves off of the plant gingerly and smiled to herself.

Cela's group had a big enough pile, Celandine was sure of it. She looked around at Ivory and Allison and Arya, smiling at each of the firsties and then smiling up at Professor Bunbury in a knowing sort of way.
She missed someone too.

Mina was completely confused now. Looking down at her small pile of buds, she pouted. Was it buds or leaves they needed to pluck? She had plucked a leave before and then started to pluck buds. So confusing.
Leaning back down to the plant, she asked for its forgiven again. "I'm so sorry to do this to you baby camellia sinesnis." She was sure the plant hated her by now. Just great, yet another plant that possible hated her. She had really thought this year, she would actually do well in Herbology. But from where she stood at the moment, that didn't look like it was going to happen at all now.
Pouting slightly, she gently reached for a tiny leave and plucked it. Setting it down in front of her, she continued to look for the tiniest leaves and plucked them gently from the plant.

Lucy was very excited after she got her group, she was ready to begin her work with the tea leaves, Lucy went to the professor and brought a plant for her group, "Here guys, i think we can start with our work now and then try out the drying spell as the professor said" she said and started her work with them.

Hmmm. Lucille had a feeling that maybe Nancy was still a teeeny bit, er, annoyed about the whole wall incident. But Lucille couldn't help it if Nancy had been unable to stop running before she got to the wall, could she? AND she had been nice about it after she had stopped laughing and even offered to take her to the hospital wing!
See, she was alll nicey nice. And she actually did like Nancy. She couldn't place why - the girl was insane. But she did.
Lucille turned back to the prefect that she now knew as Sarah. "Hello!" she said, grinning and offering a hand. At that moment ANOTHER prefect sidled up. Lucille took his outstretched hand and smiled. WOW he was cheery!! This was good. "Hi Chris," she said, smiling because his cheeriness made her cheery too! "I'm Lucille-"
Aaaand then he was off. To get the planty thingy. Lucille frowned at it. "I would," she said, "but i'll probably break it or something. Maybe someone else should go first. Nancy?"
