He was still lost. And trying to ignore Reese as she kept looking at him like that. UGH. And he didn't really want to leave Brody. But if Xander wanted to talk...
"Okay, sure." He gave Brody another kiss on the cheek then got up and headed over to where Xander went.
Xander waited until Torin was in front of him to lean forward across the table. He lowered his voice, and glanced at Reese and Brody.
"With that cake," he started to ask. "Did you happen to put anything, oh I dunno, unmarked into that cake and think it was something else? Because by the way she's acting and that look in her eyes..." GAH. Why was this so hard? "I think you accidentally put a love potion in it. There's no other reasonable explanation for it."
For her behavior, anyway. Xander knew she had a boyfriend, and couldn't POSSIBLY be that obsessed with Torin in like an hour.
Carmla looked around. She smiled. "Hi Abigail, my name is Carmala. Ya, I am a first year, and I'm very excited. It great to finally be at Hogwarts! How about you?"

He leaned in so that he could hear what Xander said better. Then he started to frown. At first it didn't make any sense. Then it dawned on him.
The love potion! Of course! He banged his head on the table.
"How could I have been so stupid?! Of course it was that love potion!"

Xander sighed, and ran a hand through his hair. There - THAT would distract Brody. He watched Torin bang his head on the table, and then put his hand on his head.
"Listen mate," he said. "We can either be sneaky about this or no. You could sneak the ingredients, and I can brew the antidote for it. Or we can go to Kazimeriz and talk to him about it."
Except, that would be extremely awkward, the last one. But as long as Xander did it right, and the liquid was clear, he would be good.

Just then, Miranda's grin returned as she saw Emalyn, as fun looking as ever, walk inside the Great Hall and sat down. "Emalyyyyyyyyn, heeeeeeeeeeej!" she practically yelled and waved her arms to get her fellow fourth year's attention.
Ema looked up from her plate of food (that she had been shoving carelessly into her mouth) and swallowed hurriedly. She knew that voice anywhere. FINALLY someone she knew. Well, there were plenty of people she knew here, but they all looked...involved in other affairs. Yes, that was the right way of putting it. Miranda Belcanto was waving her arms frantically, and for a second it almost alarmed Emalyn before she noticed that there was no fire drill. (Plus this was Hogwarts, there was no need to panic because of fires...duh.) "Mirrrrrrrrandddaaaa!!!" Ema beamed at her friend. "Hiiiiii!!! How was your summer?"

Hyperness had been a usual thing recently for Ross but when it had ran out he would just collapse were he sat or worse yet......stood.
Emalyn spotted Ross across the table and waved her hand in front of his face. "Hey you," she was tempted to wave a chicken leg in front of his face but decided she would rather he not try to eat it. She wanted it, and she was going to HAVE IT, or else! (Yeah, she was kind of hungry). "You look...anxious-ish. What's up? How was your summer?" After these words came out of her mouth she stuffed a biscut in it.
Carmela, sat at the end of her house table, she looked around at all the students babbling in there own little groups, she was a bit late, and wasn't yet acquainted with her fellow peers. She looked around for someone who looked friendly enough to talk to, someone was that was in the same situation as her.
Heather awoke, disoriented. She figured out where she was, then looked around. Everyone and their neighbor seemed to be chatting about their holiday break. She sighed. She hated doing this but.. She turned to the girl sitting next to her. "Hi. I'm Heather. What's your name?"
'Carmela looked around. She smiled. She was Happy that the girl next to her said hi, as well a she did, Carmela with just a little bit shy, and introducing herself wasn't her best quality. "Hey, My name is Carmela."
Sarah smiled as she looked around the hall, she had been sat quietly for ages, she wondered where her sisters where, well she would speak to them later, she smiled as she looked around and saw that there were quite a few new faces, she couldn't wait to meet some of them, she hoped that she could make friends with a few of them. She couldn't see anyone she knew from last term so she just sat there and stared at the ceiling.
The third year sat still for a few moments, his eyes wide and staring at the wall in front of him. His mouth was wide open, tongue out, drool dropping from it. It was quite a disgusting look on him. Well, on anyone else it's disgusting, very disgusting. He was thinking of cupcakes. Delicious cupcakes that had whip-cream on them, sprinkles on top. They were as large as this room and Willie was eating it like there was no tomorrow.
Drip... Drip... Drip...
Well then.
After a few unsuccessful attempts at conversation while sitting at her house table, Arabelle got up and wandered the Great Hall. Sitting at that table was suffocating, and she needed new air. And new people.
Hmm. Maybe the Hufflepuffs have some interesting things to say. Plopping down on a bench at the Huffie table, Arabelle turned to look at the person across from her.
...He was drooling. A lot. Ew. "Uh, are you okay there?" she asked, waving a hand in front of his face for good measure. "Hellooooo."

Varius loved the feasts with specialised occasions - the start of term feast being one of his favourites. It was always good to see the new Professors and guess what they would be teaching or to see how many wrinkles Bunbury had adopted during the summer or if Kazimeriz had survived yet another summer to continue on teaching. However, he did notice the absence of Healer Avalon and he hoped dearly that her old age had not dealt her an unfortunate demise.
He played with his cutlery has he waited for the Headmaster to make his speech and the food to arrive. Yes, he had noticed that both the Headmaster and Professor Lupa had returned this time. The Headmaster didn't phase him as much, but he couldn't believe Lupa could still be sitting up there despite what happened last term. A pet dog bites and it gets put down, no second chances, and there she was arguing with Bunbury by the looks of things. Varius felt slightly scared for the redhead but tried his best to not show any signs of such emotions.
As he looked up the the ceiling he glanced out of the window and noticed the full moon outside. His gaze quickly moved to the staff table to where Headmaster Bontecou was currently rising and moving toward the dias. He gave off a small, short squeal half expecting the man to turn into a werewolf there and then, ready to feast on this plateful of students laid before him. His gaze wandered over to the Runes Professor also - were her teeth pointier than usual? There was an odd glint in her eye...
He half wanted to run out of the hall screaming, but he had to brave this. He had to stay, ensure everyone got out alive... goodness knows what he would do if such an awkward situation did arise, but he would think of something... maybe.
The speech finished and Vee breathed once again. He hoped it wasn't going to be like this all term, but at least he would be dropping out of Runes - something which he would have to go to Professor Shackleton to discuss tomorrow when school officially started. What a term this was likely to be.
She watched as the boy seemed to be trying to run away from someone or something. Odd. The term was just beginning, what could be so wrong?
The seventh year had seen the boy a couple times but he was never so...attentive to his surroundings...or uncomfortable. That's why she had to ask, because the boy was puzzling her, "Er, sorry....are you alright?" she asked, before tilting her head to one side.

Oh, this Willie boy was simply the weirdest one she'd ever met. Thank Merlin he was not seating close to them, otherwise, well, things could get out of hands, right?
Whatever he was thinking couldn't be good, perhaps he was plotting a murder for all she knew.
Yes, Kaika looked away, because the sight was as unpleasant as the boy's attitude.

The dripping continued for a short while, his mind now thinking of chocolate covered bananas and maybe even some chocolate covered tuna. Tuna? He liked tuna. Mmmmmm, chocolate and tuna. That would be a lovely combination. Willie licked his lips and stared forward a little more, engrossed with his thoughts.
Until someone broke them with their (her?) voice. Willie blinked and slowly turned, his neck making a cracking sound. Willie didn't react to it, though. He looked at the person who had been waving their hand in front of his face. It was a little girl with black hair and blue eyes. Willie stared, his gaze intense.

Sarah nearly jumped out of her seat when someone suddenly spoke to her, she looked around and saw the person who it was. "Hi, Luminous." She smiled. "I've just been sat her thinking about different things that I wanted to do over the summer but didn't get done, the time flew by." She giggled. "I'm sure we will be great friends too." She looked when Luminous asked if she wanted a piece of tart. "No thank you."

Varius didn't jump when the girl had asked her question as he normally would be prone to when his attention was so focused elsewhere. There was something about being surrounded by all of these Huffie-loves that made him feel more comfortable. Merlin knows what he would be like with the Headmaster and Lupa only feet away by himself. Let's hope he didn't get into so much trouble that he was referred to his Headship. What an awkward discrepancy that will be.
He smiled slightly at her, trying to hide his obvious nerves. He hadn't thought they were so obvious before, but someone had noticed his discomfort - he would really need to work on that in order to survive this term.
"I'm.. I'm fine," he wondered if she had seen the fliers floating about the train, but didn't dare ask. The less people knew how much he had to do with that (especially with the Professors so close by) the better. "I'm just feeling a little jumpy... must be something in the pumpkin juice?" he accused, trying to laugh it off.
The dripping continued for a short while, his mind now thinking of chocolate covered bananas and maybe even some chocolate covered tuna. Tuna? He liked tuna. Mmmmmm, chocolate and tuna. " 'Ello."
Erm...
Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to come to the Hufflepuff table. This boy was starting to freak her out a bit. She blinked a couple of times, trying to get her bearings after the previously zoned out boy responded. "Uh, hi," she replyed to his greeting. Arabelle tilted her head to the side, observing him a bit. He had quite a lot of drool pooling on the table in front of him.
"Any particular reason you were trying to create a lake in the Great Hall?" she asked.

"Hej!" she said, the pronunciation very close as Miranda's, "Wait...you did? Did you take pictures?" how cool was that? Miranda's summer was certainly awesome as well. Kaika grinned at the excitement of her friend. It was still a mystery how the girl managed to get into such a great mood.
"Yes!" she exclaimed, "It was...unbelievable...truly amazing...we got to play Quidditch most of the day, because, well, you know, one has to sleep, apparently" Kaika didn't mind the sleep at all when Quidditch was involved, "The people were funny, well, Americans sort of are..." she started to keep the chatting of the Camp as much as possible, "...and we all got to meet new people, and shop sometimes....so, there were many things to do if you wanted a break from Quidditch...we barely did, though" a break from Quidditch, occasionally necessary but clearly not wanted, "And we also got to travel a lot, since we have to move around so Muggles wouldn't notice...there are very nice places in America" yup, true, plus, she was far away from home. Nice touch.
Ack!
This Cedric boy!
Thankfully, Miranda was focusing on him, not her. So. Good. Yeah.
Miranda laughed when Kaika pronounced the word. How cool! It sounded completely right, or atleast thats how the fourth year thought it should be said.
Pictures!
Without a word, Miranda pulled out a small photo album that was hidden under her robes. With a grin she showed the first one. There she was, standing next to a tall handsome man. They were both grinning and waving, "This is Johannn MellerRrbuiii," she said, totally mispronouncing the man's name, "He was the last man to reach the goal." she nodded. Flipping the page she showed Kaika a picture of her shoes and a grassy field. "Hm, what's this one?" Miranda squinted her eyes and turned the picture upside-down. "Oh! Yeah, this is where I fell and accidentaly took a picture." she said matter of factly.
She flipped the page, but it was empty. She frowned and pouted. Where are the pictureeeeeeees?"Odd... Ah they must be in my trunk! Anyways, I can't wait to hear about the camp!"
And so she listened and aaawww-ed and ooooh-ed in the right places. "You took pictures too right? I soooo want to see!"
Shop? Miranda took a deep breath before talking, " Did...you...buy a new broooom?"

Ugh. Why did she too have to ask about his summer? Obviously it was terrible!! Only good thing that happened was the Head Boy badge, but everything else ... well NOTHING! Can he just wear a sign that said that? It'd be so much easier. "Meh. My summer was okay." Because he didn't feel like going into details now.
IWhat's it like being a Hufflepuff? Frowning at the new student and contemplating her question, Dominic wondered just how honest he should be. "Hello and welcome, I'm Dominic Denton, Head boy." Dom began as he thoughtfully still considered her question and the answer, looking around at Miranda, Tammy, Kaika, Jake, and others... before back to Kyrie. "Hufflepuff is like any house. There good times and bad times. But mostly, it's about working hard and being loyal and true to the house you were sorted in. And maybe discovering yourself, figuring out which of the traits you hold that sorted you into Hufflepuff.... and it's..." Really, why was HE answering? Kaika would have much better off answering, or even Vanessa. Anyone but him.
Miranda turned to Dominic, he seemed pretty proud of being Head Boy. But something seemed off. Maybe he was tired. "Well I'm glad your summer was good, there's nothing better than just..." she sighed content, "Relaxing!" she smiled, shoving a chip into her mouth.
And then he whispered into her ear and winked. Miranda snorted and covered her mouth. World domination. He could totally pull that off. He was Dominic Denton. She felt a bit sentimental that he remembered their little 'pact'. Miranda leaned towards him, giving Dom a quick whisperish reply, "You know where to find me!" she grinned.
That firstie had a good question and Miranda listened to the HB's reply. It was all very good, she was impressed, until...he stopped. Why did he stop? She smiled encouragingly at him. Seriously, that was some good poetic stuff right there.

Oh. Look who it is. Another seventh year. "Hey Helios, how have you been?" true, she's never been close to him or anything, but it was someone she knew from her first year. One of those few who managed to stay until their seventh and final year. Because Kayla had left, among others.
"Hungry?" because the look on his face said that, and she was sure he could eat the table if he wanted to.
Eat the table? The thought had crossed his mind. As far as wood went, it was probably delicious.
"Great." Helios said with a smile, welcoming the distraction from his thoughts. His last summer in the forest had been an eventful one, and he already wished to be back in the wild, away from school politics. "Starving." Speaking one word at a time, it seemed he already ate most of his vocabulary.
Nibbling at a chocolate frog that he had smuggled inside his new robes, he found himself with more to say. "One more year. Hope we survive to graduation." A toast if there ever was one.

People lying wasn't something she could recognize, but she knew there was something that disturbed the young Huffie boy. Perhaps he'd just remember he forgot something back home, but to be preoccupied about it was just a silly thing, "Don't worry if you forgot something for school, just owl and they'll send it to you" she said, nodding, and entirely oblivious to the real reason behind the boy's uncomfortable attitude.
A little jumpy? Hmmm, he must be either excited or terribly scared or beyond nervousness. Kaika's head made a nodding motion on its own. But then her eyes widened. "There's something in the pumpkin juice?!" she exclaimed, entirely alarmed, "I drank some of it...did you see anyone do anything to the jug? We should probably tell a Professor about this, before whoever drinks the juice reacts badly" she said, her voice sounded just as worried as her face looked...and...time to get a Professor...or not?

"You!" she accused, "You should be careful of who drinks whatever it is you like drinking" this was simply...not normal. Who on their right mind would do such a thing? Pumpkin juice is sacred! Just as butterbeer! She shook her head, while her eyes narrowed.
Actually, the one to blame would be Varius, for drinking out of someone else's cup, but the girl had a thing for blaming the wrong people.

Zach walked shyly over to the Hufflepuff table and sat down a bit away from everyone else. He glanced at the Gryffindor table where his brother and sister sat with their friends. He sighed. How could he have been the only one in his family not sorted into Gryffindor?! Hopefully he'd love Hufflepuff, but it still would have been nice to have someone he knew here. He smiled a little. He wished sometimes that he wasn't so shy. He was a first year, and he didn't know anyone yet. It was so hard for him to strike up conversations, too. He looked down at his plate awkwardly. So far, Hogwarts wasn't exactly as awesome as he thought it would be... but maybe that would change. Who knew?

Yep. Definitely a mistake picking this table. Oh well, too late now. Arabelle watched the strange boy blink at her before he smiled. She hesitated for a few seconds before smiling back the tiniest bit. She was still unsure what she was doing here. But she figured that talking to someone, no matter how strange they may be, was better than talking to no one at all.
"A cupcake? The thought of a cupcake made you drool like that? You know, we are at a feast. Did you eat anything?" She looked around him for signs that he had.
Shrugging, she listened to him respond to another person's statement. Did he just say he put things in the pumpkin juice? Surely he was joking. She made a mental note not to drink anything at the Hufflepuff table, just in case.

He cast a nervous glance at the staff table and wondered how they would manage telling Kazi that they needed an antidote.
Xander nodded his head, and looked down the table back at Brody. He could tell she was NOT happy about being around Reese. It was pretty intense, and for a half second he was glad he wasn't around them. Eeeep.
Bahahaha. Obsession with BunBunz? "Professor Morgan is hotter, honestly." Did he just say that out loud? "But still. I'm sure if we're rational about it, he won't eat us."
Miranda laughed when Kaika pronounced the word. How cool! It sounded completely right, or atleast thats how the fourth year thought it should be said.

She turned away from the little Crocker and the uncomfortable young Huffie towards Miranda.
Ooooooh. Picture time.
"Er, the last man to reach the goal? You don't have a picture of the first one?" she asked, and couldn't help letting out a sigh when she showed the second picture. Miranda will always be Miranda, there was a calming and worrying thought about that.
She chuckled, "I didn't, but the one who took pictures will be sending them over...as soon as the owl arrives I'll show them to you" a smile came to the Huffie's face. Miranda's charm was working already, and her mood was waaaaay better than before.
Huh? A new broom? "No, I love my Silver Arrow to death, wouldn't trade it for anything" except, maybe a custom made broom, but she didn't need that. "I did buy some shoes, though, and bags" she smiled, never in a million years she'd thought she'd say such a thing.

Nibbling at a chocolate frog that he had smuggled inside his new robes, he found himself with more to say. "One more year. Hope we survive to graduation." A toast if there ever was one.
Then Helios spoke. 'Great', well, that was nice enough. 'Starving'. She was going to have a much too difficult time if he continued with one-words. Though, if he was starving, then that would explain why the shortage on sentences.
Yes, he was starving. And after eating a chocolate frog he was a bit more talkative.
"Yes, one more year to win the cups" she grinned, this time they had to win the House Cup, or Dominic will have revenge on all the Huffies. "Survive? Why shouldn't we? I mean, the Castle is back to normal...or as normal as it is...and the Headmaster mentioned the flooding won't be happening again..." she trailed off, and tried to think on what could go wrong.
She eyed the uncomfortable young Huffie she was talking to before, and wondered if he knew something about it.
So like the Slytherin table was officially getting a bit overcrowded and his mooncalf poo was telling him (yes, they shared brainwaves) to MOOOVEEE or else he'd die by an unfortunate stampede. He depended his life on the two buckets of poo that he carried straaaight towards the Hufflepuff table. That anti-odor charm was disappearing because once he took a great whiff, he could DEFINITELY smell it. SO LAIK WHY NOT STINK UP THE HUFFIE TABLE, EHH???
Perfect plan? Perfect plaaaannnn?! Spoiling their appetites... heeeheeehe. Being bored could do stuff to you.
"LA LA LA LAAAAaaaaa," he sang in a crooked tune, skipping to the Huffie table and swinging his buckets, which *cough* DID make some pooooo to splatter on the seats/people *cough* but eeeeeeee there were new HUFFIESSS. Who to talk to? WHO TO TALK SLASH ANNOY PEOPLE???
So many choices. But whatever, that poo was obviously gonna fill their noses anytime soon.
