Transfiguration Lesson 1 The desks in the transfiguration classroom are arranged in neatly paired rows, all facing the front of the classroom. In front is a wide desk made of several student desks pushed together. A closed box sits on this desk, and a chalkboard behind states that class will begin shortly and you should sit down and wait for Professor Svensson, who is not yet present. |
Victoria waited outside the class waiting for the rest of her classmates to arrive and the bell to ring. |
Thomas waited outside of the classroom seeing that Victoria was there. Thomas took his books out of the bag and he had an inkwell and a feather in his other hand. |
Reid sauntered into the transfiguration classroom, somewhat surprised to see that seemingly all years were included in this one class. At his old school there had been a different class for every year. Nevertheless he walked to a desk and sat down in one fluid motion. |
Lettie peeked inside the classroom. After reading the notes on the board, she walked in and took a seat near the front of the room. Transfiguration was a nice subject, hopefully she didn't mess anything up too badly today...and maybe even learn something fun. Yes. That would be good. The girl took out her notebook and quill, then took out her wand and placed it down carefully in front of her. They would probably need their wands for this class. |
Daniel was so excited to attend his first class. It was a merge class the is designed for all year level. Well, that was a bomber Daniel thought. It is not new to him for the last Professor used to teach transfiguration this way also. He entered the room and looked for a spot near the teacher's table. He sat there and opened a nice book of 'Transfiguration: The New Edge'. He sat there quietly and waited for the others. |
"Are you sitting next to me Thomas?" she asked him as she walked into the room and found a seat in the middle of the classroom |
Sydney excitedly entered her first transfiguration lesson, the subject seemed to be very interesting. She took the front most desk. Quickly taking out her quill, parchment & her transfiguration text book, she silently waited for her friends to arrive. |
Window. Window. Wiiiiindoooooooow. Jake had sprinted through the castle so that he wouldn't be denied a decent seat in this class. He wanted to sit by a window, As he burst into the classroom, Jake was halfway through wheezing an apology until he noticed that the teacher wasn't around. Quick as you like, his eyes zoned in on a seat by the window and he beelined for it. It was at the front, which wasn't good, so he turned his seat so could see everyone, with his back to the window. Better. What was that on the professor's desk? ZOMG! A BOX! |
WOOOOHOOOO. This was one lesson Terry had actually been looking forward to attending. The professor was awesome stuff. He owned a canary, for crying out loud! And one called Yellow! Sauntering in, he frowned momentarily when he was met with the sight of the classroom filling with students and no Professor Svensson in sight. Dropping himself into a random seat, he proceeded to eye the box. Was it really a good idea to leave intriguing boxes like that around? Hrrrm. |
Laura wandered around the castle, and, locating the Transfiguration classroom, went inside. There were a few people inside already, and they seemed to be of all ages. Wow, she thought. I'm gonna have to compete with the intelligence of the upper years. A grim look replace her usual grin. This was going to be hard work, she knew. Taking a desk, Laura sat down and began to get her books out. |
Trixie was rushing to get to her Transfiguration class. She burst through the door and took a seat near the back. She plopped everything that was needed onto her table and left her bag hanging on her chair. She placed her Phoenix Feather quill beside a piece of parchement she had got out. She might need to take notes. She then waited for the teacher to start the lesson. She always thought that Transfiguaration was a good subject, well at least that is what her mum had said. She put on a smile then waited patiently. |
She looked round, she saw Laura and whispered "Laura, do you want to sit with me?" She got out her parchment, quill, ink, transfiguration book and wand. |
From the Sixth floor entrance, the Transfiguration classroom was 32 steps away. Backpack over one shoulder, white cane in hand, Ari entered the classroom. She detected that it wasn't half full--a bit of a relief. Finding an empty seat would be quite easy. From the entrance to the clasroom, Ari took three steps forward, before her cane hit against one of the desks. Ari angled herself a bit to the left and kept going. Five paces in--Ari had found her desk of choice. Holding her cane in a straight-up position, she cleared her throat as she slid the backpack off her shoulder. Ari sat, leaning the cane against the desk for now. Unzipping her backpack, she lifted out a notebook, her Transfiguration book, and a quill. Reaching over the desk, Ari collapsed the cane and pushed it into her pocket. Extending both of her hands, she determined that the desk was roughly Two-and-a-half feet by two feet in size. Sighing, the blind girl pressed her glasses closer to her eyes, keeping then hidden. |
Laura heard her whispered name. Turning she saw Vicky sitting a few seats away. She hadn't noticed her when she had ruched in, and gratefully getherd up her stuff and relocated to beside Vicky. "Hi," she said, grinning. |
"Hey, I am so excited about this lesson, turning one thing into another" she smiled at her friend. |
"Sure," replied Thomas to Vicky and he waved his hand to Laura. He went to the table next to Vicky and he waited for the Teacher. |
Gabriella made her way into the transfiguration classroom for her second lesson at Hogwarts. The school still felt very big to the little blond eleven year old and she had almost gotten lost if it hadn't been for the trail of students going up to the classroom. Gabriella looked around at the other students in the room before going over to an empty seat in the second row. Sitting down Gabriella pulled out her supplies and placed them on her desk. Now she just needed to wait for Professor Svensson. |
""What do you think the lesson will be about?" she smiled at Thomas and Laura. |
Surely they were all in there by now, Lars decided, leaning against the door outside the classroom. They were awfully quiet, though, so he could not be certain. Ah, well. He was tired of waiting outside. Wand out, Lars pushed through the door into his classroom and strode briskly to the front of the class. On his way, he flicked his wand at the windows so they would open and let in some natural light. “Good morning, students,” Professor Svensson said rather loudly over the students’ hushed voices as he halted in front of his desk. “We’ll wait a bit longer for stragglers, but please take out something to take notes with.” |
History really do repeats itself. Daniel hopes that these first years would stop their mumbling around before they loose any points for their House. If only Daniel had the authority to yell at this students who are starting to make some kind of conversation about where to sit must hold their mouths shut before the Professor catches them. Daniel sighs. He just shook his head and continue to read his new book. And then the Professor suddenly appeared from the doorway. Daniel then straightened himself up and closed the book he was reading. He then grabbed some parchment, his favorite quill and a bottle of ink. |
Lasca walked into the class with a grin on her face. She had rather liked this class last year and was looking forward to the opportunity to learn some more. Looking at those present she acertained that no one she knew was here yet, so she picked a seat in the middle of several empty desks and pulled out her things. |
Satine dug through her bag and pulled out a piece of parchment and her favorite purple ink pen to take notes with. She grabbed her book out and flipped through it to pass the time...she was so excited to get this lesson started...she was hoping she was good at this class.. |
Thomas got shock from the teacher's sudden entrance. Thomas took out his wand, two parchments and his feather. |
Ears perking when she heard the door open rather strongly, she straightened. Almost an automatic response, Ari turned her head as the Professor walked by--the illusion of looking made people more comfortable, she had notcied. Pulling the notebook closer, Ari opened it to the second page--she also picked up the quill, holding it loosely between her fingers as she rested her wrist on the edge of the desk. |

She sighed a little bit and blinked as some sunlight entered the room. |

She picked up her quill and parchment and waited for instructions. |
Quote:
... Crap. "Just... getting my stuff," Jake groaned, reaching out for his back to get his parchment, some ink and a quil. |

Sydney glanced at the back of the room as Prof. Svensson entered. She quickly followed his direction and was very excited for the lesson to begin, "Hello Professor" She said with a smile. |
Varius entered the Transfiguration classroom and took a seat, smiling at the Professor, hoping he wasn't late. Who would have known that it would have been possible to forget where everything was after a whole summer? No matter, he was here now and ready to learn. |
Lars glanced in slight concern as a student near the window landed on the floor. "My apologies... I should have warned you before I opened them." Glancing around at the next of the class, Lars nodded slightly to himself. There. Now there were a few more students in the room. That was plenty for Lars, for he did not want to prolong the start of class any longer. It was time to begin the class. Walking around his desk so he could get to the chalkboard, Lars began talking. He fully expected the students to stop talking without being told, so he gave no warning as he began erasing the chalkboard. “All right,” he said. “My name is Professor Svensson”—he wrote his name on the board so they would know how it was spelled—“I am your new transfiguration professor. Please, tell me what you’ve learned about transfiguration in previous years. Just so I can get the general idea of how much you know.” |
Feeling a little nervous, Satine didn't answer the question...she was a first year and hadn't learned anything previous minus her meta-powers that just came naturally...o no was she in the right class? |
She put her hand up and said "Professor, I am a first year!" |
Quote:
Shoulda remembered all teachers are evil. Righting himself again, Jake straightened his shirt and set his parchment out, feeling a slight breeze playing on his neck. He raised his hand. "Last year... we did... the younger years did the sparks out of the wand thingmajig," Yes, he had forgotten already. "And the older ones did the writing words with ribbons in the air and all that jazz." Jake was pretty sure one of those was Risona, but he had already made enough of a fool of himself... so he left it at that. |
"Professor, I'm also a first year but my dad told me that we'll be learning how to change animals to glass cups," said Thomas raising his hand. |
Professor Svensson--Ari immediately linked the name with the voice. Ari's left hand peaked timidly into the air, bending down once to push her glasses closer to her eyes, before arching back up. "Well, this is technically my first year here, sir...but in my previus school we had been in the middle of morphing objects into their opposite." ...She paused, "But, then again, that was at my previous school." |
Laura noticed the Proffesor enter and so began to become excited. She couldn't wait until she was turning things into something different. She pulled a parchment roll towards herself and clutched tightly to her Eagle Feather quill, almost knocking her inkbottle over in the process. |
Demetria listened to the teacher very carefully. She didn't remember a thing about transfiguration, but she wasn't going to say that. She raised her hand to speak. "It's when you change an object into something else, right professor?" she asked. |
Sydney blushed when Prof. Svensson asked about what they had learned so far about Transfiguration. As she was a first year, so naturally she knew nothing about the subject. She decided to raise her hand to tell the most basic thing she knew about the subject "Prof. all I know is that Transfiguration teaches the art of changing of the form and appearance of an object." She said nervously. |
Hrrrmm. Okay, so this actually came about from when he'd greatly wanted the professor to turn the Ravenclaw quidditch captain into a canary. He raised his hand, murmuring thoughtfully, 'So this might not be what you're looking for, but prior to what I thought I did know about Transfiguration, it is possible to use transfiguration spells on living things. Who knew? I'd thought it was only limited to inanimate objects.' |
Kevin listened to the professor carefully taking notes as he went along he didnt know much about Transfiguration but he was willing to learn |
What had they learned in Transfiguration, huh? Uuhhhh. "We learned the difference between charming an object and transiguring an object, Professor," Clifford stated, hand in the air. "And we had this really cool lesson right, where we got to shoot arrows out of our wands!" That had been AWESOME. |
Oooh. What they had done previously? Vanessa remembered back to last year, before raising her hand. "Well..in one lesson we learnt how to fire arrows from our wands at a target, Sir." She nodded, with a smile. She had enjoyed that lesson. |
Lyra kept silent at the question, she was a first year so she had no other experience with Transfiguration, but she did know it was about transforming things or animal.., or something , and since a lot of people had already answered the question she waited. |
Laura was startled when Professor Svensson asked what they already knew. It was her first year, was she in the right classroom? She hurridly began taking notes on what the older students where saying. |
Willow, who had been sitting in the back of the classroom doing anything BUT paying attention, snapped back to reality upon hearing everyone surrounding her speak. Blinking her forest green eyes a couple of times and gathering by the Hufflepuff seeker's answer that Svensson had probably asked about the past terms, the girl raised her hand and answered, "We also learned the Sinistra Lumina Spell. About ... Two terms ago, I believe." It was the spell that you used when you wanted to create a handful of light, right? Right. "And as someone else already poitned. "We also learned Oppugno. I think that was around ... five terms ago." WOW. With Professor Pride. |
Vivianne eagerly listened to the professor. What was his name again? Professor Svensson, yeah that's it. And to the other students answering. The balloon fight was cool, too, she thought. However she just listened and let the others speak. They had mentioned the things she have in mind already. The maze, the firing range. And when the Ravenclaw quidditch captain got her chance, Via had no idea what are those lessons. She had a bit of idea about the lumina spell but the other one, she was hopeless. |
Theo raised his hand, "I learnt that you always need you wand with you. Incase something happens." |

Oh no. He had forgotten to instruct them to say their names before they answered. Oh well, he could always tell them on the next question, if he remembered then. Quote:

"Now. Next time you answer a question, if you could tell me your name before your answer, that would be excellent." Lars hoisted himself onto his desk and eyed the class. "Now. Can I please have a volunteer? Just one is enough." |
"Ill volunteer!" she shot up her hand. "Oh yes, my name is Demetria, professor." |
"Thanks Professor," said Thomas looking around the classroom he was so eager of learning more. Thomas raised his hand and said,"I'd want to volunteer and my name is Thomas." |
Cam squinted at the board and tried to figure out the spelling of Svensson. Was it double N or double S? And which S and which N?! Quickly he wrote down the name of the professor's on his parchment in case he accidentally called him something weird like Professor Savannah or something. Nope, he didn't want that to happen. He looked at all of the other students in the classroom and wondered about last term. There really were some coooooool things they've learned last year. OOH a volunteer? He raised his hand. "I'm Cam aaaand... I'd like to volunteer professor." |
Satine shot her hand up in the air, "Satine...I would love to volunteer!" |
Lettie raised her hand, "I'll volunteer, Sir. I'm Lettie." Whatever it was she was volunteering for, she had no idea. |
"Ummm I'll volunteer,Sir" Sarah said meekly, putting her hand in the air. "I'm Sarah..." she added for good measure. |
"Oooh...I will" Vanessa nodded raising her head. May as well do it now if was her last year |

Clifford shot his hand in the air to do some volunteering. Volunteering was fun. As long as this new Professor didn't do anything drastic like turn his arms into carrots.. Seeing a lot of the class already had their hands up though, Clifford let his own flop back to the desk. Meh. |
"I am Victoria Jaimeson professor" she smiled at her professor and couldn't wait to learn some more. |

He looked at the girl and withdrew his hand from the box. In his hand was a pastry, quite normal in appearance. He was not about to tell the girl, and one could not tell by looking at the pastry, but it was actually a canary cream. "Demetria, I want you to take this pastry, and make it disappear by whatever means you know. I don't particularly care how you make it disappear, I just don't want to see it anymore when I turn back around." "Ready?" Lars handed the pastry to the girl and turned to face the window, so he could not see the girl even out of the corner of his eye. "Go." |
'You're welcome, sir' Willow wanted to say but before she could even open her mouth, EVERYONE was talking again, offering themselves as volunteers. Seriously. Everyone was so . . . eager to learn. Weren't Ravenclaws supposed to be the ones to be likes that? Apparently, everyone was a Ravenclaw today, or at least they were behaving like such. Narrowing her eyes a little at them and thinking that they should all stick to their houses and start to behave like such |
Kevin clapped as Demetria volunteered for the Professor |
OH MAN! This was so not fair! Was that a PIE Clifford saw!? He wanted PIE! He wanted to make that PIE disappear by going all OMNOMNOM on it. Hmpf. Clifford managed a half-hearted clap of his hands for the Demetria girl. He was jealous. |
Vannie smiled as one of the younger students, well she thought she was a younger student anyway, went up, and the hufflepuff prefect gave her a little round of applause. |
Thomas clapped slowly he really wanted to help the professor. He looked carefully what type of fun he was missing. |
Quote:
I think we all know how that could be done. Eeeeeat it. Or Jake's preferred method of choice. Window! ^^ |
Satine clapped for Demetria but was a little jealous I mean she was also the volunteer in Transfiguration...you gotta be kidding me...she was so eager as a first year and a Ravvie and wanted a chance to prove herself to her fellow classmates but not such opportunities had shot her way yet. |
Quote:
Sydney clapped for the girl, ahh how much I wanted to volunteer she thought. She watched Dementia with the pastry in her hand. What would I do if I was her... i'll probably.........EAT IT!!she thought with a grin plastered on her face. |
Demetria took the pastry. "Uhm...ok." she looked around. She didn't know a spell to make it dissapear. "Uhm..." she threw the pastry out of the open window. Wow that was lame. I hope he didn't want that. "Excuse, me professor. I made it dissapear, just not very well." she told him. Why couldn't she think of a charm to make it dissapear?? |
Sitting quitely somewhere near the back row, Whitney's eyes travelled to the front of the room as all the eager students raised their hands to volunteer. For some reason she couldn't tear her eyes away, just to see how this girl would make it disappear, and if she could. What would Whitney do? Elbow it out the window, and with that a smirk appeared to her dainty lips, for that was exactly what the girl had done. |
'Ooooo, pastry. Eat the pastry! Eat it! Quickly!' Lettie thought and watched on, wide-eyed and wondering what this class was going to bring them all. Now she was hungry, darnit...and lunch wasn't for a few more hours. She watched as the girl threw the pastry out the window. 'Nooooooo! That was a good snack! Awww...'. Leticia sighed and wished she could have been outside that very moment. |
Clapping politely,Sarah watched as the Professor took a....pie? out of a box. She had to make it disappear? Well thats easy, eat it! Or stuff it inside her robes. Decisions,decisions....which would she choose? |
Lyra laughed at her attempt to make it vanish, that was exactly her idea, throwing it out of the window and couldn't help but smirk a little. |
Oh heck, no. She did not just do that! Why? WHY!? OH WHY? She'd thrown it out the window. She'd thrown all that flacky pastry goodness out the window! Clinging to the side of the wooden desk, Clifford tok a few deep breaths in order to try and calm himself after that -- that MONSTROSITY he just witnessed. ACK! |
Theo giggled as she threw it out the window. He would've put it down his trousers. Since he couldn't eat it, and he couldn't really throw very well. |
Quote:
|
With her hand in the air, "Satine sir....She threw it out of the window....well more tossed it but I'm hoping no one below got a pie in their face." she said smiling |
"Oh no! She didn't" Sydney murmured under her breath. Sydney was just about to answer when a ravenclaw stood up. |
"She threw it out the window" Vanessa nodded, whilst raising her hand. Then she rememered her name. "Oh...and I'm Prefect Corbette...but Vannie will do." |
Laura watched as the girl threw the pastry out of the window. Oh, well I couldn't have done better myself, she thought, except maybe eat it! A wicked grin passed across her face at the thought, but she turned her head back to the front. |
Kevin was amazed at what happened and as some of his fellow classmates had answered he wrote down what happened on his parchment |
"I'm uh - Clifford Carden, sir," the seventh year introduced himself as he threw his arm high in the air. "And she tossed it out the window! Right out the WINDOW!" Oh goodness, he needed to calm himself. But the loss of such precious food was simply painful! "What a waste," he sniffed under his breath. |
Leticia raised her hand, "I'm Lettie Dubois, Sir. She threw it out the window, out of sight out of mind I guess." Technically, it wasn't disappearing, but it was nowhere to be seen. Now Lettie really wanted to volunteer...maybe she'd get a treat, erm, breakfast actually. |
Demetria went and sat down. Oh jeez he's probably going to take that point away once he finds out how I made it dissapear. she thought to herself. |
By using Magic? That was true, but not the answer Professor Svensson was looking for, she was sure. "Could it have been Depulso, sir? Since this spell causes a spell to move forward and all that. . . " |
... WHAT?! Cam watched as the delicious-looking pastry was thrown out of the window and well... WHY?! He could have almost broken into tears if he didn't control himself as he thought that pie had gone to waste. This class... it was torture! "Whaaaa..." And as he thought of the pie even more, he got hungrier. And hungrier. Bleh. Stupid pie. "Hmph." He raised his hand for the next question. "Cam...," did they still have to say their names for every question, "She threw it outta the window? I don't think it really disappeared. Maybe just disappeared from our view." |
Should she tell? Should she? Yeah she should. Putting her hand in the air Sarah said.. "Uhhh I'm Sarah and she chucked it out the window,Professor.Must admit I never thought of that...." But it was a darn good thought,Sarah giggled inwardly. |
"She threw the pastry out of the window Sir,"Cedric said with his hand were highly raise."Umm,Can I volunteers sir?."He will gonna show his kills this time to make people amazed |
Thomas didn't belife what he saw she had to throw it out of the window but that was probably was the way do it. |
Shana took a quick look through her text book, while listening to the professor talking. Her text book was going to be a huuge part of her grade.Well to Shana it would,so she had to read out of it lots. And suddenly people were throwing things out the window. She watched closly and put her text book on her lap and continued watching. |
"She threw it out the window?" Lars repeated, slightly surprised. He would have eaten it, himself, if he was given the choice. He certainly loved the smell of canary in the morning. "All right, then. I'd like another volunteer... perhaps someone from before? Thomas and Cam, would you like to help me?" Quote:
|
... lets just pretend i didnt post late Jake raised his hand. "Sir, she used her ingenuity to give it the chance of a lifetime and go on a journey it never expected..." ... More information. "My guess is if there's anyone under the window, they'll have pastry all over their head, and looking up," he explained again, before deciding to go for it in blunt terms. "She threw it out the windah," Jake piped up, clapping a hand over his mouth as his good ole Laahhndaahhn (London) accent slipped out. |
Volunteeeer? Yay. "OK professor." |
Cedric raised his hand."Me sir.I like to"He was quite excited to volunteer. |
"Sir I am Sydney Carrington, Can i volunteer?" She said quickly. The class was so far so good, Sydney really was having a great time. |
Thomas raised his lond hand and said,"I'd really want to volunteer." |
She put her hand up to volunteer! She was enjoying the lesson so far. |
Holly begins to wonder how he will make it disappear.."I wish I could have had a bite.." she mumbles under her breath. |
Phew I still have that point. she thought in relief. She took out a peice of parchment and wrote. Note to self: get Professor Svensson another pastry. Canary I think. and slipped the note into her cloak pocket. |
