"Thanks for the offer, but I'll handle it since I am the Flying Instructor. But it took me seven years of letter writing until they finally caved in," Vindictus replied flatly. "Broom donations from the League are rare. Guess that I'll have to use the money budgeted for some much-needed renovations." And I'll have to start my letter writing campaign all over again and promise to play on another World Cup team.


He reached into the box and took a chocolate. "Thanks, Annie." He grinned and popped the sweet treat into his mouth.

Hoping to find Professor Lupa for a nice chat over coffee, Iliana strolled down the busy corridor. When she entered the door of the staff room, she was shocked and delighted by what she saw there. "HEADMASTER!!" She exclaimed. "You're here, oh thank Merlin!" She beamed at him, thankful for his return. Did he know about the flooding, she wondered. Surely someone had told him, after all, he was here. Maybe he had a plan to return things to normal.

Finally taking notice of ALLLL the others, Iliana cocked her head slightly and asked, "Did I miss an owl or something? I had no idea a meeting had been called."

"Hello. Nice shoes," he grinned and then turned back to Kazimeriz who began an explanations.

His jaw dropped. "Totally flooded... and potions..." Wow. This was certainly an interesting dilemma to come back to. As he took in the situation, others also began to talk, giving him a chance to think a bit before having to make decisions.

"It was an impromptu thing, so don't worry about it," he smiled and then cleared his throat to speak to those assembled. "Okay, well we can't leave the kids in the observatory while we figure out how to drain the dungeons so, let's just move them in with one of the other houses. We have plenty of room since the school was designed for more students than we currently enroll. Gryffindor tower is closest to the observatory, isn't it?" he asked, looking to the heads of houses.

Vindictus listened and almost choked at the words he heard. At least Pepe didn't say Ravenclaw - both houses would be in detention because of all the fights. "That's correct, Headmaster. Gryffindor tower is the closest to the observatory and to Eddie's office."

Aww, Pepe liked her shoes! Annie couldn't help but grin back at the Headmaster like a little kid all proud of her refrigerator art. "Thanks," she muttered quietly, settling back into her chair as Max nommed on her chocolates.

Her chocolates. Eh. She could...share.....maybe. Besides, the thing to focus on here was the poor flooded Slytherins. Right, so now they maybe had housing. "Do you think, uh," Bunbury cleared her throat a little, "Well the students' books and possessions may have been flooded...we could...do something about that?"

Just a suggestion, because had Anastasia Bunbury been in that situation...let's just say that if she were ever to lose her shoes to a natural disaster, the world would surely end.

Kazimeriz spoke up at this. "Madame Kohan and Professor Kapoor have been tasked to put together an order for emergency books and robes and other necessary essentials from the major shops of Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. Until the shipment is completed and arrives, perhaps we could implement something of a 'buddy system' of supply-sharing between the Slytherins and Gryffindors, wherein the Gryffindors would share not only House space but their resources as well, such as sharing supplies in classes? Perhaps all of the students of every house could also offer to donate essential extra clothing supplies to the affected Slytherins?" Sharing is caring, after all.

"That sounds like great idea," Pepe agreed on both counts. "So, we'll leave it to the Gryffindor and Slytherin heads to work that out. The Slytherins should be moved in by this evening and I'll close off the dungeon level until we can figure out the best way to go about draining. Perhaps Kazimeriz, Svensson, Ashby and myself can brainstorm, though anyone else is of course welcome, as well." Pepe sat down and looked thoughtful.

"Uhmmm Headmaster?" Alessia piped up though he'd technically dismissed her. "There is another matter. We've moved detention to the owlry as it was the only other enclosed space that would... lend itself well. Professor Morgan took the owns and put them in a barn on the grounds... however... now that you are back, Professor Kazimeriz will need office space and quarters, and classrooms to conduct his class. This is a temporary adjustment, I understand, but..." she looked over to Iliana, "Professor Morgan and I would be happy to share classrooms and quarters..." they had talked about sleepovers... this would be what? a week long? It'd be fun! "...If you think it appropriate, Sir." Teehee She smiled. She called Pepe, 'Sir.'

"Oh. Right. I hadn't thought about that. So, Professor Kazimeriz moves out of my office to yours and you share with Professor Morgan?" he asked for clarification and nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me so lon as you're all comfortable with the situation," he said, looking between the three of them.

If Iliana had been drinking coffee at that moment, she surely would have spit it out. All over Less, you can be sure. But thankfully she hadn't gotten that far yet. And so what if her eyes bugged out a bit at the suggestion? No one would notice.

After the initial shock, she realized that it was a wonderful idea. The perfect solution for the displaced professor. "I have more than enough room Headmaster." She smiled, turned to Less and added. "I can help you move your things this afternoon, if you'd like."

"Thank you Ili, but I think the house elves would be very happy to assist me." She gave her a wolfish smile, one that said this would be the most awesomest sleepover ever! "Thank you headmaster." She said and bit her lip.

Having nothing much to really say, Angela chose to simply listen while the others spoke. She nodded in agreement as Kazimeriz made note of the task that she and David had undertaken. She had sent off an initial list of such items, though more could always be ordered if other items were found to be needed. And the buddy system was an excellent idea. She was hopeful that the Gryffindors would willingly share such items to their housemates in need, as well as living space. It would be a challenge, no doubt, but she believed that the students could do it.

Oh dear. A gentleman simply did not encroach on ladies, or cause them any sort of hassle!

Professor Kazimeriz scowled. "With all due respect, I do not think it is appropriate for my regrettable situation to cause displacement or inconvenience to any of the ladies on staff, Headmaster. I would request that another accomodation be made for my class and my own office space, if it is at all possible." He nodded his head slightly to Reynard, hoping that he would not force him to go against his principles for the sake of convenience. Surely another accomodation... Dumont? Even Tweedledum and Tweedledee Ashby or Kapoor might be of assistance. Something that did not impact the ladies.

Unless, of course, it was... Hrm. He considered. "However, if a lady must be encroached upon, perhaps it would make sense to hold my class sessions within the herbology class spaces. After all, potions do make great use of herbological components, and as long as an area could be kept completely sterile to avoid soil or contaminants in the potions we should do well in that area. My office and personal dwellings could be placed in another location, such as with Professor Vindictus." A single level for classes and office suited him well, as stairs were hard on his hip. But though Reynard probably knew that, he would not wound his pride by admitting to the others that his health entered his reasoning.

Those final words coming from Kazi's mouth hit Max like a bolt of lightening. "WHAT? YOU KILLED MY RACING BROOMS!" he shouted as he lept off the couch. "No. Absolutely not. My office is separate from the main castle. It gets too much fresh air and . . . and . . . ." He was now stammering for excuses. There were none. Vindictus crossed his arms and plopped back down on the couch with a pouty look on his face. He knew he'd be forced to share or suffer the consequences. "Fine!"

Constantine had been here the WHOLE time. Yes, yes, he had. Just, ignore the slightly soaked man entering the staff room at the very moment. Fine, he'd been here in spirit while going for a swim in the lake. A swim for a good cause.

He plopped down in a seat near Max, his swim shorts thoroughly soaked and his t-shirt sticking to his torso as he dried off before putting the shirt on. "I've just gone for a dive in the lake to check out the dungeons...but the lake is too large for me to manage, particularly in my condition. Do you think it would be possible to ask Bartholomew the squid for help? He'd be a lot more efficient and cover a lot of space in a shorter period of time."

Were her quarters not good enough? How was it that he'd rather dislodge two professors than just one... who wanted to be dislodged? And to walk between two areas! With his hip injury?? She wouldn't speak up as she knew Papa Valon would bite her head off. She turned to Pepe, and waited for what he was going to say.

"You talk to the squid?" she asked blinking.

Truebridge had been leaning unobtrusively against the wall and listening as his workmates informed the headmaster of what had been going on in his absence. He visibly relaxed at the news that Kazimeriz would be FURTHER away rather than closer. No reason at all for him to visit the first floor anymore. Excellent.

Except...

... well he'd have to stay away from the greenhouses if Kazimeriz was planning to hang around there.

Lawson lounged in the chair he had chosen to sit in, the one at the other end of the staff room. Furthest away from Caroline and Annie, he hummed a rock tune as he listened to the goings on. Thank Merlin, it wasn't he that had to find new accommodation he was starting to like his office, even though he didn't get to spend much time in it.

Oh...hehe. The old man was going to work out of the greenhouses, hopefully he could stop that ridiculous red head from spreading rumors. He continued humming the rock song, unconsciously playing a little air guitar while he was at it.

"Well, the ladies have already volunteered, Professor. I do not think it would be too much of a burden for them," he said as he looked toward the lovely ladies in question. It really was criminal to have so many lovely ladies on staff. He turned his glance back to Kazimeriz, "And I wouldn't want to offend them by rejecting the offer," he added with a slightly raised eyebrow.

And then he addressed Masterson. "Since the most likely place to get flooding into the dungeons is the lake beneath which they sit, I think talking to the squid would be wise idea. Would you like to handle that particular aspect of this mystery?" he asked.

Alessia's space... I cannot use Alessia's offices. No. Kazimeriz thought bitterly. He shook his head a little more emphatically than he intended. "I do not wish to cause offense or inconvenience. But I really must strongly request a different arrangement... Professors Bunbury and Vindictus have the space that best accomodates the needs of potions, which is why I suggest them. But if that is not acceptable another arrangement needs to be made, if at all possible, Reynard. " Kazimeriz met Reynard's eyes, trying to hold his gaze and wordlessly convey to him that he had Reasons to request a different arrangement, and so to please acquiese to his request. He'd explain later. Privately.

Antonio listened to what was said about the Slytherins needing a place to stay, since they were no longer able to remain in the dungeons. He had seen that for himself, the dungeon level was totally flooded. It was - strange. "Sir, I think the best place for the Slytherins to go would probably be Gryffindor Tower," he said. "They would be close to the observatory, as was mentioned, and could probably learn to adjust easily there. I would recommend that they be moved there and remain there for as long as necessary." Housing was being discussed, so he thought it was an opportune time to throw that in.

It should certainly be interesting to see how the Slytherins and Gryffindors got along together if nothing else, he thought wryly. It was definitely a social experiment such as none other.

Constantine nodded. "I'd be glad to deal with that," he answered, lightly wringing out the end of his shirt. This meant needing fish. And lots of it.

Another Arrangement? Why was he being so stubborn! What had she done? Did he hate her that much for distracting him from the duel? He must really think lowly of her if he would ask to be with two other professors and if not to make other arrangements! Her head sunk.

"Well, what to Professors Bunbury and Vindictus have to say?" he relented, though he really could see no reason to be so stubborn. The old man deserved to have his own quarters. No need to bunk in with anyone else. "Professors Lupa and Morgan have already said it is no inconvenience for them, but I don't know about the others."

Vindictus knew that he couldn't say no because it would happen even if he resisted. "Fine. Just as long as those foul potions stay out of my office," he grumbled like a spoiled child who didn't get the toy he wanted. He sat there and mouthed the words 'My brooms. He killed my new brooms.'
