Hufflepuff House Table Welcome new and returning Hufflepuffs! |
Lyra walked over to the table and her mouth dropped. SHE.WAS.THE.FIRST.HUFFIE? That was unheard of in her book. She always made a grand entrance but now, it was just a first...for her last year here. She walked over to the table and took her seat, but her eyes roamed the Great Hall looking for signs of anything that was going on. |
With a rather interesting (if you would call it that) train ride to the very same school that Seth Paton had been attending to for the past six years, the blonde was — scream if this is a shocker to you — finally happy to be back inside Hogwarts. However, don’t be too surprised as being inside a stable castle was much better than being cooped up inside an old train that was extremely annoying with its high-pitched whistling. Let’s not forget the fact that he had to sit on the very same seat as Elizabeth Andrews back there. With a bit of luck and a killer hairstyle, Seth would most likely never have to endure such a terrible train After adjusting his hair quickly in the entrance hall before entering one of the largest rooms in Hogwarts, Seth found himself strutting around the place with his chest puffed out. Looking up at the staff table as he walked through the Great Hall toward the Slytherin table, the seventh year noticed something fairly odd. It was not the usual slippery green that he was so used to. The table was just too bright. It was … yellow. Why in Merlin’s beard did the Slytherin colors change? … Wait. Hold on a second. … AHHH! Stopping in the middle of nowhere in particular and blinking several times at all the yellowness, the young man that was heading for the Slytherin table (or so he had thought) just moments ago had somehow caught himself waltzing straight down Hufflepuff Lane. One thing was certain: the boy with the nicest hair in Hogwarts was, without a doubt, lost. |

At first the blasted thing tried to place him in Gryffindor, and Cy blatantly shouted “NO” until the thing changed it’s mind. Grudgingly, the raspy voice of the sorting hat screamed out “Hufflepuff!” And Cyrus shrugged indifferently. Whatever, anything besides his fathers house; Gryffindor. He didn’t want to have anything to DO with Teal. Dark brown eyes scanned the great hall, he didn’t see Legend, Mat, or Katie. Hopefully Legend and Mat would be in Hufflepuff with, for Cy’s sake. Katie, well, Cy hoped she was a Hufflepuff too just so he could have someone to annoy 24/7. After wondering around the place for a bit, staring down and observing anything he could, the eleven year old stopped at his own houses table. There was that girl that had sat on the whoopee cushion sitting by herself, Cyrus smiled wryly. He went over her direction and hopped up on the bench across from her, he stood up on it to get a better glimse of the room. No Legend OR Mat in sight. How disappointing. He furrowed his brow and plopped down on his bum, his questioning dark eyes looking to Miss Lyra Noir. “What’s up blondie?” He asked, looking down the long table in pursuit of food. “So, what’s for dinnah’ tonight?” The Aussie grabbed his fork and lightly tapped it on the empty plate. |
Maybe because she'd learned the way towards her table, or maybe because she was following some weird sense, Kaika arrived to the much-too-empty Hufflepuff table... She stopped before seating, making sure this was the table she was supposed to be in. Where were the Huffie peeps? She was usually one of the last ones to arrive, and couldn't believe her eyes. Oh, well, she arrived in time to see the sorting, this will be her first, ever since she was sorted, that is. Yet she was failing to notice any new face, all she wanted was some pumpkin juice and then bed. Surely they'll be waking up the next day in no time, and off to planning the next Quidditch plays, which was all she was looking forward to. |
And the first boy that walked up to the table was...hmmm...someone she didn't know but personally, she just knew him around the school. She smiled as he sat down... And then she heard that famous Australian voice. She turned her head as soon as she heard the word 'blondie'. "Well, hello there Cy! Welcome to Hufflepuff." Did she just welcome someone to her House? What in the world was going on with this girl? OH! It was a cute little boy! That's right. |
Celandine actually DID manage to make an entrance, partly on account of she really DID spend an awful lot of time watching Lyra to see how it was done. She didn't make the entrance to her own table though, not sure if she was quite able to face up to Plymouth Morgan OR Copernicus Kettleburn right at that moment. Older Hogwarts boys had her in a headspin and it was easier at that moment just to... not think about it. "Lyra!" Celandine called the older girl's name in greeting, just as she passed through a patch of light that totally made her hair look pretty and all of that. If she had been Lyra she probably would have made the most of that moment and paused so that people might oooh and aahh and wish they had pretty blonde hair too. But she was Cela and, while she was wearing her Ravenclaw uniform with her robes open at the front, she also wore long non-regulation pink striped socks, with her black mary janes and somewhat indecently short skirt. (HA big brother HA! Spies are GONE!) She put one foot on the bench next to Lyra Noir to better show off her socks, holding the pose for long enough that it could in fact be considered a pose before slipping into the spot next to Lyra. If she had thought about it, or spent more time with Anna Greingoth, it probably would have been a moment that also warranted a high quality hair flip, but while Cela had perfected the Evolette McKenna Pout(tm), was working diligently on the Lyra Noir Pose(tm), the Anna Greingoth Hair Flip(tm) was still on her to do list. "How was the rest of your summer?" |
Quote:
OH! And someone asked about her summerrrrrrrr! "My summer was absolutely the best summer of my entire life," she smiled as she patted the seat next to her for Cela to sit. "So tell me about the love life?" The girl was obviously a magnet for boys, something else that was so Pink Lady-ish and made Lyra proud. "What happened after the party?" |
Quote:
Wait. What? "Love life?" Celandine repeated and flushed, biting her lip a little. "What do you... I... I have a boyfriend." She did... right? She and Plymouth hadn't... he had told her to smile and gone home and he hadn't owled her for the rest of the summer and neither had Cope so... Celandine coiled a strand of hair around her finger and tried not to peek over at her house table to see if either boy had arrived yet. "After the party I went home. And... the rest of my summer I spent time with my brother and Kayla and I went shopping." |
Quote:
And nothing like a change of subject to talk about none other than HERSELF! She turned in her seat and faced Celandine as if it were such an important story. Well, to her it was but sharing everything was just not in Lyra's vocabulary. She liked to stay mysterious about certain things. "I spent the entire summer with my boyfriend, Christian, and his mother," she said as her hand landed on Cela's arm. The smile that broadened Lyra's face was bright and shiny and...well, she was just thrilled beyond words to talk about her man. "We went to the beach and went swimming and he showed me around the village and I got to play with his cat, Shadow and I read him books, which of course is my specialty." That deserved a wide grin of happiness. "It was just the best summer of my entire life. The happiest I've ever been." And those words were so true. "And both of us went shopping over the summer so we are going to have to tell what each of us bought." She turned back towards the table and then back to Cela. "I have LOTS of new shoes. Shoes! Shoes! Shoes! Hopefully Professor Bunbunz will be proud of me." That deserved another grin. |
Quote:
"Oh I got soooo many dresses and muggle jeans which I've never ever worn before, and shoes and jewellery and..." Celandine lowered her voice, "... pretty knickers! But ohhh I'd really like some more shoes. Pretty heels like what you and Professor Bunbury wear though they look awful hard to walk in. I bet they make it easier to kiss boys though... for me I mean, you are already tall." |
Quote:
OH and the girl wanted to know more... and the questions were just...YES! "Yes! He's very...extremely gorgeous! His mother is so much fun to go shopping with. I wore the cutest of all bikinis. Yes he held my hand when we went to the village, I would have wondered if he didn't. His cat is super cool, best cat I've ever seen. The romance books, his mum let me borrow and I read them to him, Pride and Prejudice is a wonderful book...that Mr. Darcy is just...RAWRRR!" She talked almost without a break in between, as Cela did as well. "Did Cope enjoy the book? What did he think of Mr. Darcy? What do you think of Mr. Darcy?" Why was she reading to Copernicus? "And the pretty heels, well, I believe that this year I'm going to see about holding a secret class...just for the females," she looked around for a moment, then up to the staff table. "I'm rather hoping that a certain Professor would help. I'm sure it would be right up her alley." And speaking of the professor, she seemed to have made a grand entrance herself with her stylish shades, handbag and of course the wonderful pair of shoes. |
Quote:
"Ummm." Celandine tried to remember, "He thought Darcy was a prat and then we got distracted and stopped reading." Celandine perked up visibly. "A secret class? For walking?" Celandine looked up at Professor Bunbury and stared at her neat shoes and sunglasses and bag and geeee she was sooooooo cooooool! "Oh!" Celandine cocked her head, "We have new profess... I saw Professor Bunbury talking to that man in Diagon Alley and he smiled at me." She pointed at Lawson and chewed on her lip for a moment before going back to her bread roll nibbling and turning her attention back to Lyra. |
The Great Hall was loud with chatter of friends conversing, some for the first time since the train had dropped everyone off at the station to go home for summer break, while excited and nervous first years were being sorted, running off to join whichever of the four house tables they now belonged to. When she was waiting with the other new students, Kaitlynnh observed her surroundings noting things about the Great Hall and boat ride across the lake to the castle that William had told her of, having nothing better to do since she couldn't stand next to any of her friends. Once she had gotten her turn to sit down on the old stool and have the ancient magical hat placed upon her curly haired head, Katie was granted her latest wish - to be placed into Hufflepuff, like every single magical member of her father's side of the family had; like her older sister Savannah. And suddenly, walking slowly down to the table of gold and black, she didn't feel half as happy as she thought she would, or should. Instead there was a sinking feeling in her stomach, a feeling she ignored to the best of her ability, blocking it out like she blocked out the noise around her. By all means she should be proud, this was on the list of things she and Legend faught over; he didn't think she had a chance at being in Hufflepuff, like Savannah. And she had proven him wrong, so she should be happy. Why wasn't she? As if admitting the reason to herself, dark eyes wandered over towards the Gryffindor table for a brief moment before she took a seat at the Hufflepuff's table. Crossing her arms on the edge of the wood surface infront of her, the small girl layed her head on her arms. |
Alice found the Great Hall filled with laughter and talks. It was not easy to step inside a new place and mingle with new people. She blinked twice or might be thrice, before took a corner seat, sitting alone. New robes, new place, new faces..everything was new. She didnt know what was going on and what she was supposed to do. She remebered her sisters, cousins and Theo the only person she had met in the train. With her hands rested on her laps, Alice took a glance at everyone around the table, curiously. |
Despite the dirt on his face, Helios' golden hair maintained the illusion of sunlight like radiance. Shabby robes, that his body outgrew over the summer concealed the wealth of his upbringing. Though what concern was there for appearences when there was a world of magic that was returning to his life like an old friend? No doubt, he thrived during his adventurous summers, but his soul grew lonesome away from the warm halls and hearts of Hogwarts. |

"Well... I'm fine, what about you?" Alice shifted slightly, "Yeah, just only one." she said honestly. Speaking of him, it reminds her of his lil bat Eddie. She smiled inwardly. |

When Alice said that he had scared them she looked at Alice. "What do you mean?" She asked as she once again looked straight into Alice's eyes. "How did I scare you?" |
George sat at the table, staring at the food. Hoping that Steven wasn't too upset with him for not being in Slytherin, he looked down at his hands and cleared his throat. Alice and Sarah were in this house, but they wouldn't hang around with him all the time, he'd have to go and make more friends... Theo was a great person and George liked him a lot. Shivering at the thought of having to walk up to people and talk to them, he took to watching people talking and eating. Seeing Alice and Sarah, he watched them jealously. At least they had each other. |

But when she asked the same question, Alice got surprised. "Never mind. You know what I mean.." she bit her finger nails, nervously. Quote:

When she saw Alice lean on her elbow. "Alice, I promise i'll try and find you next time." She said as she tried to fight back the tears, she couldn't understand why Alice was always mad at her. "Alice what have I don't to make you so mad?" She asked. |

"Okay, better you. But I wont let you go anymore," she said in slightly a warning tone. She liked her lil sister but not her mischievous behavious sometimes. She raised her hand to brush off the hair from Sarah's face, "I'm not mad at you. I'm just concerned, got it?" |
