Chris looked over his shoulder quickly while dodging little Grindylow teeth and fists and saw the girl who's wand he found being splashed and maybe attacked by a Merwoman. After being scratched by a grindlyow hard on the leg, he stupified it and shouted at the Merwoam attacking the girl. "Hey you, fish! Stop it!" he shot a spell at her to keep her away from the two of them.

The fiesty little grindylow wasn't pulling the girl underwater - it attached its strong jaws to her ankle and wouldn't let go.

SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!

Four of the grindylows now went for the witch who was shooting sparks of light at them.

BULLSEYE! One lucky grindylow chomped down on the boy's left ankle while a second one went for his right foot.

CHOMP! CHOMP! GRRRRRRR!!!!!

"OOOOOWWW!!!" she bellowed as she was being moved. She was very grateful, she the pain was excruciating! She looked up at her rescuer..."T-t-thank y-y-y-you! Is m-m-my l-leg..." She screamed again. As she was being pulled she was pulled next to her wand and grabbed it as she passed.

OH, NO!

Reese had been standing still the whole time that Aornos was there. When the Aornos left, the grindylows came. Oh, anything but the grindylows! She was about to cast a spell at one of them until a merwoman got Cam. GOT CAM! She quickly ran over to Cam, which was hard because running in water slowed you down. She pointed her wand at the same merwoman Anna casted at and said, "STUPEFY!"

Plymouth had lost BOTH HIS girls. And now? NOW? The little scary things with the FINGERS ... were coming at him?

It's possible that a very UNmanly screamed escaped from the innards of Plymouth, but hopefully it was drowned out all by all the SCREECHING and hexing going on.

"Err.... STOP IT. OR I'LL ... have.. to... hurt you!" And Plymouth didn't want to hurt anyone or anything....he didn't even step on bugs, if he could help it.

...

But they kept COMING????

"FINE. STUPEFY LITTLE BEASTS!!" Plymouth kicked at one and shot another in the FACE. If it was down to Plymouth or THEM, well, Plymouth figured he was worth a few more galleons. And definitely better looking. "RELASHIO!!" Kick kick kick kick

Keeping the shielding charm on him he shook his head, watching as grindylows attacked people he didn't even know. It seemed like everything was happening in slow motion; they kept coming at him, even with Paris's shield charm protecting him. He edged away from her, barely making it before he ducked, four spears bouncing off the wall before the other nicked his shoulder.

Getting up and ignoring the small pain in his shoulder he looked at the merwomen. "I don't want to hurt you! Can't you just play nice!" he shouted at them, knowing they'd never understand him.

After sending the spell at the Merwoman attacking Dani he felt a sharp pain sieze through his left ankle. "Oh my God! It's got my foot!" He then felt it wrap around the other foot and he fell into the water. While under there he kicked and stopmed his feet as hard as he could hopefully getting the stupid thing off. He resurfaced, "someone help!!!"

Paris tried to dance out of the way of the attacking grindylows. "Relashio!" She pointed at the ones that were closer to her. "Stupfy!" She shouted at the rest of them.

She pointed her wand down at the grindylow on the girl's leg. "Relashio!" she screamed.

She turned and saw Chris' head just above water. "Oh my god Chris," she dropped everything and threw herself in the water and started to tug on his robs as hard as she could. She was kicking anything her foot made contact with under the water.

One grindylow got hit in the face with one of the spells and floated off with a dazed expression.

But a second one went for the prize. The ankle. Mouth wide open.

CHOMP!

"RELASHIO!" Torin screamed pointing his wand as a Grindylow attacking Plymouth.

Jack saw that Chris, his prefect was being attacked by a grindylow AND Rave was about to be poked by a Merwoman! EEEP! What to do?!?

Turning to Chris first, he pointed his wand at his ankle, not taking very good aim. "Stupefy!" he yelled, his hand shaking as he tried to cast the spell. Without even checking to see if he had made contact with the Grindylow, he turned to the merwoman near Rave and shouted "Stupefy!" once again. Or wait--was he supposed to disarm her? EEP?

"Expelliarmus!" He cried, now sending spells in every direction. This was getting soooo intense! He couldn't even think straight anymore!

Vindictus was panting when he finally arrived - it takes a lot of stamina for someone to run in a dead sprint from the grounds and into the Castle. His eyes surveyed the scene for a brief moment. Setting foot in the water was NOT an option considering the grindylows appeared to be attacking . . . the ankles?!

So he did it in usual Max-style. Left hand out and his voice booming. "ACCIO, BROOM!"

These kinds of things always takes a few moments....

Another grindylow took the hit and bounced away. But it was angry and launched itself at the witch.

CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP!

EEP! The Grindylows were attacking Plymouth! That would simply not do. Even if it were for her own selfish reasons, Plymouth Morgan would not end up disfigured by bite marks. "Petrificus Totalus!" She shouted, aiming at the stupid little monsters.

What other spells? Think McKenna! Think! This is why you shouldn't cut classes!

"Stupefy! Stupefy! Stupefy!"

EEEEEEK! Save Plymmy!

"EEEEEEEEYYAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!" Rave shrieked as the woman made a threatening move towards her, launching her self and the professor (lupa) backwards out of the way, both ending up under the water. Rave's hand hit something small and stick-like under the water. 'My wand!'

Grabbing her wand and standing up, she cast stupefy at the grindylow's attacking Chris and then turned to Professor Lupa and levitated her till she was on top of one of the gargoyles, head out of the water.

Facing the merwoman again, fear evident on her face, Rave cast stupefy once again and hoped her aim was true. Another spell joined hers, "Thanks Jack!" she called over the chaos. The tide (no pun intended) was turning in favor of the merpeople.

Then suddenly, Professor Vindicus appeared and Rave couldnt help but feel a little star struck, even in the midst of battle, he was a famous Quidditch player! Theres a tim eand a place for everything Stone.' she thought to herself, 'And now is NOT the time or the place.'

Reese turned around and saw a Grindylow attacking Torin. "Get away from him!" She called out as she pointed her wand at the creature. "RELASHIO!" She exclaimed.

That was unwise, you see, for the blond girl was pointing a wand at the second cousin twice removed of the Merwomen (and trident) with the VERY WORST temper.

Tsk Tsk.

The Merwoman Screeched in an eardrum-shattering fashion and pointed at the blond girl.

THWACK!

Max's broomstick slammed into his open palm and he mounted it. Am I invisible to these kids? Don't they see that being in the water is DANGEROUS? Geesh! Now he was hovering above the danger and the action. "Get out of the water if you don't wanna get bit!" he called out and saw Anna helping others. "Use your brains and call for your broom, Greingoth!"

OUCH!! He kicked his feet at the thing as it bit him. "Relashio!! Relashio!!" But since he was in a panick, he missed the Grindylow every time.

He sighed as Reese cast her spell. "Thanks," he said as he kicked the thing away from him.

Ten more grindylows appeared from behind the Merwomen and they swarmed around the girl (Reese). Then they moved in like commanded.

CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP!

Plymouth fell down when the THING BIT his ankle. What exactly Plymouth had ever DONE to the little beast???? Hadn't Plymouth been the one telling people to STOP shooting at them???


Grindylows were going on the list. The list of things that Plymouth would forever hate. The list.


As he started to flail and scream a little, TORIN and ... Evolette McKenna came to his rescue. THANK MERLIN. "These... these aren't like vampires, right? I'm going to turn into a Merman right? That's not how you become a merman, RIGHT?" Plymouth crawled around with a bloody ankle until he found Evolette's leg. He hugged her leg. He'd just protect this leg and hope his ankle would... heal. AVALON style heal.

Chris smiled and tried to thank all the people that were saving him. He thought all the Grindylow's were off of him but his foot was numb already and he coudn't tell. If his foot was gone of had to be amputated, oh buddy they best believe he's going to the Ministry this summer and pushing for no more fish in the lake!

He then heard a man yelling. he saw it was Vindictus shouting for his broom. This was no time for Quiddicth tricks. Or was he going to save people. He thought in his head 'Save me! Save me!' but then thought better of it and then half floated half stood in the water shooting jinkes at all the gridlylows around him.

He then heard a screech from the mermaid. Will they stop doing that? Whatever they're sayin is so not important! He thought

Now Reese was in a lot of danger!

"STUPEFY! RELASHIO! RELASHIO! STUPEFY! STUPEFY! STUPEFY!" he screamed hitting the Grindylows attacking his best friend.

Hearing Plymouth's worry, he couldn't help but laugh weakly. "I doubt it. Lawson would have told us otherwise if that was the case." He really didn't need the boy to start panicking more and like making things worse here.

She looked up at Professor Vindictus on his broom. Well of course he could do that he was a professor! "Accio broom!" well he said for them to get out of the water. Her broom was all the way in the broomshed too.

Dani would have listened to Vindictus, if she could have done it without putting herself in danger. But she was too busy splashing merpeople. They started it. It wasn't her fault. She wasn't going to draw her wand, then they might kill her. That wasn't a very nice prospect. Where were the fishing nets when you needed them?
