She put her face in her hands, she had to spend the entire term working beside a man who tormented her during her years at Hogwarts, though she tried her hardest, he was the only professor she could never please. And sixth year...
Taking her hands away from her face, she looked at Max, "I dont know if I can deal with this right now, I cant, I just cant." Her hands shook as she reached for her glass of water, which she knocked over into her lap. "Merlin's left eyeball!" she cried as the icy water soaked through her thin robes. Quote:

"Even the Muggles know of its magical properties - I think they call it, ah, aspirin? And they take it in those tiny little candy-shaped forms?" Pills, er, whatever it was. Anyways.
She raised a reddish eyebrow at Alex mentioning the Ministry. Hmm. "Ghosts at the Ministry, eh?" Where weren't they these days. "I had one follow me around for five years. A most unpleasant experience - but," she was going to concede on one point here "--I'm sure not all ghosts are horrid. Like the Fat Friar, he's a jolly lad." Pfffffft. She was grateful, though, for Alex's helping hand. "Thanks," she muttered distractedly.
"Me? Afraid?" She was addressing the redhead, right? "Just....I was....haunted once...um...ex-fiancee....things didn't end right..." She shuddered at the memory and went back to sipping her tea. Think of the peace lily, think of the peace lily.... Kaziwhatsit wasn't done yet, apparently. And she couldn't possibly turn down an invitation to tea - Anastasia thrived on social encounters. Perhaps she could use this proposed tea party to her advantage sometime. The Ancient One seemed to have a certain level of influence over the rest of the staff and even over the ghosts.
"I would be delighted to attend," she accepted gracefully, setting her tea cup down on its saucer gently. Even if The Grey Lady did attend too, she would be there.
"Wonderful," she added, nodding in the Runes professor's direction. Notes. Hmm, she was curious to see what sort of stationary this one used. "Yes, uhh.. maybe I will dear." Alex responded only half listening as she tried franticly to mop up the water, totally forgetting about her wand. |

He gave them an almost kind but somehow shifty smile, as though he were actually thinking on a secret. He sipped his tea and tipped a tiny wink at Alessia, then resumed assessing the staff and house tables quietly.

After watching flying witches, bleeding students and other disturbing displays, Qaz had gotten tired of trying to digest the feast with all off the trauma......so she sent her tabby, Hijinx, up to there dorm.....
Then....
She calmly walked up to the front of the hall...
ignoring flaily Professors, bleeding students, hovering ghosts....
Qaz came to the front of the Raveclaw table and just stood there.....
looking at the Headmasters chair....
then gazing to the left.....back to the right...
staring down every chair......
when Qaz realized that all of the Professors were stuck in their own little reality, she bowed her head and mumbled to the floor 'sad day'
then turned around and slowly walked away....

staring down every chair...... Ethan did a 30 second count to see if this student would show some manners and introduce herself. But no. It was just staring. How rude. And what was she doing up here besides staring? Nothing. Insanity? Possibly, with the ghosts and the shoelaces and the screaming children. In his day it wouldn't have been accepted.
"You there, what is your name?" Truebridge waved it off and noted the robes, "4 points from Ravenclaw for staring rudely, not introducing yourself, not offering to help and just standing there. State your business or go back to your seat."
He paused and leaned forward, waiting for her name, an apology or something.
It would be a far worse fate for her if Krazymeriz got there first.
"Oh and I hope to see you in my classes." Ethan added as an afterthought.

Kazimeriz watched Truebridge take points from the student, then watched her go back to her table and crawl under it, her face contorted in misery. He raised an eyebrow at him and then suddenly rose, leaving the table with a clomp! shluff-shluff... Clomp! shluff-shluff.
He slowly made his way toward the Ravenclaw table.

Potatoes. Truebridge shrugged it off and dug into his potatoes.

He had gotten up, shook off the injury and made it back to his seat only to have water get spilled all over him...accidentally. With his wand, he managed to conduct a decent drying spell towards his robes. Thank goodness it wasn't anything with staining power.
From the other side of the dias, he could see Alex waving to him. She soon had her hands full with a fainting Professor, but he took a moment to wave right back. Quote:

Perhaps he would introduce himself to the woman kind enough to free him from his shackles?
Yes. He would do that. "Good evening," he said, outstretching his hand. "I believe I overheard your name is...Less, is it? I'm Ian Ashby, the new charms professor. It is my pleasure to meet you." He gave a short bow, still hesitant to rise from his seat. "So you are the one who gifted us all these lovely....rune sets, are they? I never took runes in my time here, but I would certainly love to hear about them! I've never been much for divining and the like, though." Piggin'-out besides his old friend, David dug into the potatoes as Ashby intro'ed himself to a slight professor with very large eyes.
" And, I am Professor David Kapoor. I teach Divination." He spoke, trying hastily to swallow and clean his hands with his napkin before greeting a young lady.

Ian followed the old professor with his eyes and he clomp-schluff-schluffed his way over to the Ravenclaw table. Oh dear, those students were in for quite a fright.
He turned his attention back to David and Less. David was eating some potatoes that looked mighty delicious. "Tell me, old friend, how are those potatoes? I've been eying them for quite some time, but I must admit that I recently had a bad experience with potatoes. You see, my wife tried to cook them, and, well, she's no cook. Ever since, I've had quite the nervous disposition for trying potatoes, but these do look rather tasty."

Yes, they are rather delicious!", David replied to Ian, putting some emphasis on the word 'rather', when something occured to him. His old friend...His old prank-playing friend. Why would he be asking about the potatoes? Surely he had potioned them?! But, how could he? He was with the potatoes all night. Kapoor tried to calm himself and remember that there had been no time for Ashby to sneak a potion or charm of any sort upon the delicious potatoes. And he tried hard to not let himself succomb to that paranoia, but after years of whoopee cushions, and competitive banter, he couldn't help himself.
Taking a big spoonful of the potatoes, in defiance, David shoved them into his mouth and after some time, he finally swallowed, albeit reluctantly, as the thought of the possible repurcussions this might bring raced through his mind.
" Care to try some?" He asked, offering to Ian.

Professor Kazimeriz sat back down, pleased with his little outing to Ravenclaw land, and helped himself to a fresh cup of tea. It felt good to be off his feet; he needed to remember to take his pain potion when the weather was so damp.

Please let my warning glide through your thoughts before you use these shoes in my presence." Oh, but she reminded him of his own Penelope... and of Alessia, of course. He sloooowly shuffled back toward the table, allowing her to lead him and then stepping gently back up on the dias. He turned to face her. "Ten points... to Ravenclaw. Five for your focus on academics, and five for being both considerate and respectful. Thank you, dear." He turned and walked toward his seat again. Cela nodded, her eyes wide and serious, "Oh yes sir, I still have my test shoesies, even the control group. It took me half a term to get the balance of stick, stop and slide right and I'm always tweaking." Cela giggled slightly and nodded again, "Your warning will stick and stop in equal measures, Sir." Celandine swallowed her surprise at being given points before lifting her chin, her eyes shining with resolve to get back the rest of the points her housemates had lost, "Thank you, Professor Kazimeriz." She watched him walk back to his seat like a king returned to his long lost kingdom. "Wow." she said softly to herself before turning and attempting to walk back to the Ravenclaw table without skipping.
Skipping won out.

"Care to try some?" He asked, offering to Ian. Ian could tell by the way his friend spoke to him that he was suspicious. Fortunately for him, Ian had not done anything....yet. However, something could easily be arranged. Now was most probably not the best time, though, so he decided to refrain. "Oh, yes please!" Ian said excitedly, watching as David schlopped some onto his plate. "I've always enjoyed potatoes until, well...Marigold tried her hand at preparing them."
Ian was not quite done with David, though. He waved his wand around under the table so it was just visible to David. He did not cast a spell or a hex, though. He liked watching David squirm.
When his trick had been played, Ian gladly took a large spoonful and treated himself to some delicious potatoes au gratin. "Mmmmm..." he smirked through his cheesy potatoes of delight, "delicious!" Gulp. "Have some more! I insist."
He looked quite mischievous as he pushed the bowl toward Mr. Divinations.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Cambri Mikaila Hale Fourth Year |
At the end of the day Cam wasn't one to worry about rules and promises. She wasn't a Ravenclaw for good reason. Cambri did what she wanted to, and was more concerned with having fun than anything. There was, however, only one person that could make her stop being so fickle and do what she had to, her mother.
Before leaving for the train Cambri had promised her mother that she'd let the staff know who she was. Her mother had promised that she'd sent a letter prior to her arrival. Sure, the Hogwarts staff had a way of knowing things about it's student's before they arrived...but on this matter one was better safe than sorry. Cambri had been kicked out of her old school because of problems relating to her more animalistic nature. Cambri was a werewolf, who had yet to register in the Ministry's office. The American Ministry knew about her, but she hadn't gotten around to letting the British branch know. First step in getting that done was speaking to one of the professors.
Cambri was reluctant to leave her table. She'd been talking to Kyle and having a grand old time. Unfortunately if she didn't inform the staff of her arrival before she got her mother's letter tomorrow, she knew she'd be skinned alive at Christmas...and Cam had grown pretty fond of life...she wasn't ready for it to end just yet. Dutifully she approached a blonde woman who was talking to a few other professors, and waited to be acknowledged. "Uhm...hello. I'm Cambri Hale. I believe my mother sent an owl about me around a month ago. I promised her I'd talk to the staff once I got here...to make sure you'd gotten the letter she sent." Cambri explained. She wouldn't be surprised if the owl had gotten lost on the trip. That old creature was the most feather brained bird she'd ever met. If it had then it would be her job to explain her situation. Her mother had sent a letter, explaining that her daughter was a registered werewolf, that she was good at taking her potion, etc.

Professor Kazimeriz finished his tea and biscuit, then slid his chair back slowly. A post-tea walk around the Great Hall had been a tradition of his during his previous tenure at Hogwarts, and he intended to continue his small habit. "I feel a constitutional is in order. Alessia, my dear, would you be so kind as to help an old man take a short walk around the hall?"

Hogwarts RPG Name: Blake Rouyn Second Year | you live your life just once, so don't forget about a thing called love. Constantine bent down and undid the knot that his shoe laces had been tied in to, before sitting back in his chair and crossing his arms across his chest. This was certainly a strange start to the term and he hoped to merlin, that it wouldn't get any stranger. Last thing he needed to be doing was going back to Madison and telling her about this term's crazy antics.
With a sigh, he pocketed his acorn and looked around at the rest of the table; he might as well face it. Caleum wasn't coming back and he wasn't going to see Madison for a while. So, what was the purpose of being so down. Time to perk up, I guess, he thought to himself with another sigh.

Now that things had seemed to settle down a bit, Angela returned to her seat, her eyes warily scanning the rest of the hall. Now that the initial shock of seeing the ghosts were over..for the most part, her head seemed to be somewhat clear.
She now found herself looking around at her fellow colleagues, all who seemed to be chatting to someone or another, except for one fellow. The groundskeeper. "Constantine, yes?" She inquired as she leaned in his direction. He certainly was not reacting as the other professors had, and she couldn't help but wonder if he had more important things on the mind.
"You feeling okay? Or still in a bit of a state of shock?"

I've never quite had the mindset for it. Please, forgive my ignorance."
The way things seemed to be going for him, the best Ian could hope for would be that the staff didn't think him inept and unfit for a job such as teaching charms.....and that all he was interested in was food.
He side-glanced the ancient one.

She inquired as she leaned in his direction. He certainly was not reacting as the other professors had, and she couldn't help but wonder if he had more important things on the mind.
"You feeling okay? Or still in a bit of a state of shock?" "Hmm?" Constantine turned his head to look at her, blinking a couple of times before finally registering that someone was actually speaking to him without looking at him like he was crazy or socially un-inclined (which he was but no one was going to know about that).
"Oh, yes, I'm Constantine. And, yes, I'm fine...just a little...out of it." He sighed and allowed himself to smile a little bit as he leaned forward onto the table. "I'm sorry, I don't think we've ever had a chance to speak before...you are?.." Ugh, it was moments like these he hated; it showed just how much of an introvert he was.

Waiting patiently as the man snapped out of his daze, Angela studied his expression before replying. "That's certainly understandable...I don't believe I've completely overcome the shock either. After all...the house ghosts haven't been seen for some time. It makes me wonder why they've shown up now."
Not very surprised that Constantine did not know her; for he spent most of his time outdoors and she spent most of hers in the library, Angela reached out a hand. "Angela Kohan, librarian; and you are the groundskeeper, correct?"

"Angela Kohan, librarian; and you are the groundskeeper, correct?" Constantine looked out at the tables of students, looking for where the ghosts were now. "It is curious," he said gently, "Perhaps they've come back for a good time. I guess we won't know until they tell."
Constantine reached his hand out and took hers, shaking it gently. "Good to finally have a name, Angela. Mmm, yes, I am the groundskeeper. Unfortunately, I spend too much time on them. I miss the library; If it weren't for my own collection, I think I'd lose my mind..." He smirked at his own comment - as if he could lose any more. "Is it still as good as when I was in school?"

That old creature was the most feather brained bird she'd ever met. If it had then it would be her job to explain her situation. Her mother had sent a letter, explaining that her daughter was a registered werewolf, that she was good at taking her potion, etc. "Hale... Hale... I'm not sure that I received your mother's letter per se," she looked over at the Headmaster who seemed busy, "Headmaster Bontecou is busy at the moment. Why don't you stop by my sanctum after you get settled in, and I'll have found your mother's letter by then." She said with a smile. "I'll have something sweet for us..." She added. Quote:

The way things seemed to be going for him, the best Ian could hope for would be that the staff didn't think him inept and unfit for a job such as teaching charms.....and that all he was interested in was food.
He side-glanced the ancient one. "No need to be forgiven, we are all pupils in this world... no matter how old." She then said, "If you'll excuse me, Professor Kazimeriz has expressed interest in walking with me."

"Alright, that should be fine." Truth be told Cambri wasn't sure who her mother sent the letter to. Most likely the headmaster...but he was busy, and wouldn't he have told the rest of the staff? Cam shrugged it off. She'd done what her mother had told her to, and she could go talk to Professor Lupa about it later. She smiled at the woman before heading back towards the Slytherin table. She seemed nice enough. Maybe you'll have a class with her... She thought absently. Professor Lupa didn't look quite so terrifying as some of the other staff did.

Professor Kazimeriz took her arm, taking care not to lean too heavily on her, preferring to lean vulture-like on his cane. "Shall we walk then?" he asked, taking lurching steps toward the house tables. Ah, nothing like a short walkabout to ease the stomach and stimulate the mind...
