Gryffindor House Table
 

Noble food for a noble house.

Lucas entered the Great Hall.It was the end of term feast and there weren't many people around. The Gryffindor table was all empty.

The end of term meant alot to Lucas. For one it was the end of one year full of fun and also was the dawn of new things.He wondered what would lie ahead for him in the next term.

Astrid came strolling into the Great Hall with Allie's arm linked to hers. The End-of-Term Feast was always something that Astrid secretly dreaded. It always felt so sad with everyone leaving each other for the summer. At least this year, Allie had promised to come over to visit. Thank goodness she had that to look forward too. She looked over at their table and saw that it was still pretty much empty. She turned to Allie and gave her a brave smile. "Where to? Over here on the end?" she asked, gently pulling her in that direction.

"Do I have a choice?" she said, as Astrid dragged her to the end of the table she showed her.
"Ok...as you best friend, I demand to know! What is up with you and your manhandling issue?" she giggled, while she sat down. "And how did you get so strong?"

Astrid thought about her question for a second with a puzzled look upon her face. "Manhandle? When do I manhandle?" she asked. When she sat down, she looked over at her little arms and tried to flexed her muscles without anyone else noticing. "Am I really strong?" she asked, giggling.

"When do you manhandle?" she said. "Are you serious?"
Allie laughed at her friends obliviousness.
"You do it just about everyday. Like when you dragged Anna out of the common room so she wouldnt be in there when we set up for her surprise party. Or when I'm being to slow leaving a class, and just about a second ago you dragged me to the table."

Astrid blushed and immediately started to giggle louder. "Do I really? Haha! Well I guess I never realized before." she said. "But now that you mention it, its actually an awful lot of fun to drag you through the castle. Maybe if you weren't such a slowpoke...." she teased, grabbing some bread from the platter in front of her. "I wonder when everyone else is gonna get here."

"I am not slow." she said, defenssivly. "I just rather take my time, than run throught the corridors."
Allie looked around the table, it was still almost compeltly empty.
"Probably soon."

Lucas saw two girls walk over to the table.When he looked closer he saw that it was Astrid.He walked over to her.

"Hello ladies. Think I can join you."He said with a smile.

"Oh don't look at me like that.As you guys were so busy talking to each other. I thought I should poke around myself."He added.

All of the sudden, amongst all the eating and constant chatter at the Gryffindor table, a squeal was heard, and Anna Greingoth skipped on over to the Gryffindor House table. In her excitement, she reached out her hand and playfully popped Lucas, Astrid, and Allie lightly upside the head. "Summer-freaking-vacation!" Anna called out, clearly excited about the end of term. "...and I, Anna Greingoth, plan to spend just about all of it with Cale Newell." Having made that Grand Entrance, Anna smiled at the three Gryffindors already seated at the table, and then took a huge bite out of a roll she'd just picked up.

Okay, so Anna was a tad on the giddy side for the Leaving Feast, but a good deal of her current attitude was an attempt to make sure her housemates got a little cheering up after the announcement Professor Dainsie had just made. She would be leaving as the Gryffindor Head of House, and Merlin knew which professor the Lions would end up with next term. Anna just hoped it was someone as remarkable as Professor Dainsie. She was really going to miss her. It was a little too early for Anna to start getting sad about leaving her friends for the summer. That usually didn't hit her to the train ride home...which actually wasn't that far away. Anna shrugged and then took another bite out of her roll.

"Ow." sound Allie, as someone hit her in the head. SHe turned around to see it was Anna.
"Whats up with the Gryffindors today?" she teased. "First manhandling, now hitting people in the head?"
She looked over at Anna.
"You seem a little too happy to be leaving Hogwarts." she said.

Chris walked down to the Gryffindor table. It was the end of the term already?! He sighed and sat down with Allie, Astrid, Lucas, and Anna. "Hey" He said to them.

Astrid looked up when she heard Lucas' voice. "Lucas! When did you get here?" she asked excitedly. "You've been gone for ages." Then she patted the seat next to her and said, "Sit with me. I missed you!"

"Ow!" Astrid said, rubbing her head where Anna and whacked her. "Nice to see you too!" she said, starting to feel better with everyone's smiling faces around her. "Anna!! You're just the person I need to help me settle a small disagreement we were having. It seems that Allie here thinks that I manhandle. Isn't that absurd?!? Will you please tell her that that is just simply not true?" she asked, winking at Allie with a mischievous grin on her face.

Lucas was teasing Astrid and Allie when someone hit him in the head.He looked up and saw Anna.

"I was just kidding.You didn't have to hit me for that."He said to Anna.Then he saw Chris come up and sit with him.

"Hey mate.How are ya?"He said to him.

Anna giggled when Allie turned around to see who'd popped her in the head. "Gryffindors...are in a surprisingly good mood," Anna replied. "We just might be the new owners of a certain cup, you know. Might, of course, being the key word there. I'm not really sad to leave. I've got the train ride home with you guys, plus, we'll be back next term, of course." Anna took a third bite out of her roll and then a sip of her pumpkin juice. "Besides, like I said earlier, I get to spend all summer with a certain curly-haired co-prefect of mine!"

"Well I got here today and Chris told me that it was the end of term feast today.So I came here.Mind you, I was surprised that term would end so soon."He said to her.

"And about me being away.Man I think I should record it now.Everyone seems to ask me the same thing.Well I got a major leg injury.Had a complete bed rest.Have to admit I really missed you guys."He added.

"Hey there, Chris!" Anna greeted. "Pretty awesome term, huh? I must say, though...it did have a rather rocky start for me, if I do say so myself." Anna frowned, thinking back to the Start-of-Term Feast when she'd had that infamous fight with Cale. It seemed so long ago now.

Anna giggled at Astrid's remark. "Nice to see you, too, Deschain," she replied. Anna stood up and walked over to where Allie and Astrid sat, listening to Astrid go on and on about some remark Allie had apparently said. Anna smirked and then looked back and forth between the two of them. "Johnson...Deschain. Dear sweet kiddos," she said, an evil glint in her eye. Smirk still in place, Anna reached up and grabbed the two of them by the shoulders, pushing them lightly together. "I'm the only one allowed to manhandle around here." She raised her eyebrows, grinned playfully, and then turned to head back to the roll she'd started eating earlier. "Oh, and girls," she called out over her shoulder. "Thank for all the points you won!"

When she sat back down, she smiled at Lucas and then playfulled messed up his hair a little. "You'll be alright, Lion," she replied, flashing a quick smile before taking a bite out of that really good roll.

Lucas looked at Anna.

"Hey! I might just have come back but I can see an ANOMALY in the NATURAL order of things.You girl are AWEFULLY happy today."He said smoothing back his hair.

"I am good. How about you." Chris asked Lucas.

"Hey Anna." Chris said. "Yeah it was a great term. I have to agree you did have a rough start." He told Anna, yet he smiled as he remembered that day.

"I just met you in the common room.Man you are having memory problems."He said smiling.

"And I'm fine by the way, now that I have met Astrid.Seems half of my work is done."He added.

"Ohhhh I see, excited about summer vacation." she said. She has having fun here at Hogwarts talking ot her friends. She didn't want to go back to America with her family over the summer. "I kinda don't want to leave, no fun at home away from everyone."
Allie laughed.
"Hear that Astrid? You cant manhandle anymore. It might get MissPrefect over there mad." she joked.

"No Problem!" she called back at Anna.

Astrid listened as Lucas explained his absence and frowned at him when he mentioned his leg. "Oh my Lucas! Are you alright now?" she asked, with obvious concern reflected in her voice. It had been entirely too long since the last time the really got to talk, but she was having absolutely no problem getting used to it. "You know, things were just not the same without you here. I am so glad you're back." she said.
Astrid could not help but laugh at how adorably giddy Anna was being. In fact, she was in such good mood, that Astrid forgot all about missing Hogwarts over the summer and just went ahead and laughed right along with her. "You know Anna, we never would have gotten all of those points if it wasn't for you. Gryffindor does have the very BEST prefects after all!" she added. "Speaking of which, where the heck is Cale anyways?" she asked, looking around the room. "He should be here celebrating with us."

When she turned her attention back to Anna she added, "Well, Miss Greingoth, since I NEVER manhandle anyways, you have nothing to worry about." she teased, giving her a look of playful innocence.
Turning to Allie and throwing her arms around her in a fierce hug, she said, "Oh Allie, don't be sad. You are going to come and visit me remember? We are going to have the most amazing summer ever!"

As the Gryffindors chatted away, the doors to the Great Hall opened and Cale Newell slipped inside. He pushed a piece of curly hair off of his forehead and headed over to the table, making sure his Gryffindor prefects badge was gleaming in the light. He wanted everyone to know what house we belonged to today. Yup yup.

"Hi everyone!" he said with a grin, hurrying over to the place where his friend--and, of course, his girlfriend, Anna Greingoth--were sitting. Unfortunately he hurried a bit too fast and tripped over his own two feet, crashing into the table with a slight bang. The silverware rattled and he knocked over the goblet of water that was at the seat he was about to take and he blushed. Pulling out his wand, he cleaned up the mess and sat down as his cheeks grew impossibly warm. "I, erm...no one saw that," he muttered. Gah. Stupid feet. They always ruined amazing entrances with him.

"Ahhh, so I am," Anna replied. "I actually have a lot to be happy about." She smiled at Lucas and then turned her head towards the doors to the Great Hall. Where was that curly-haired, clutzy, lovebug boyfriend of hers?

"No kidding," Anna replied, frowning at the spot on the table where she knew Paul Kutcher's name was carved into. "Oh, well," she continued, letting out a soft sigh. "It's all better now!"

"Yeah, ever since Cale and I got together, the summer vacations are really exciting for me. Daddy used to have to bring me to Cale's house everyday, but since I'm nearly seventeen, I can travel alone now. I can't wait to see the Newell's again! Although, there's a particular little Greenboat girl that I think I can wait a little while longer to see. Oh! Did I tell you...Cale and I are going to Hawaii this summer!"

"I'm sorry you don't enjoy the break so much, but hey! I'll write to you, okay?" Anna suggested. "...everyday if you'd like!" Anna reached across the table and grabbed another roll, having just finished the first one she had. As Anna ate, she laughed off the last few comments from Allie.

"Me?!?!" Anna asked, dropping her jaw. "Have you lost your mind, Astrid Deschain? Gryffindor wouldn't have gotten all those points had it not been for you! I'm so proud of you...of all of us!" Anna exclaimed, looking around at all her friends. "I'm not too sure about Cale. Knowing him, he's probably fallen somewhere and has stopped to pick up whatever it is he broke in the process."

No sooner had Anna said that, the doors to the Great Hall opened once again and in walked the best boyfriend in the entire world. "Hey, Cale," Anna greeted, scooting over to make room for him. It was actually a good thing that she scooted over, because about two seconds later, Cale proceeded to have one of his classic Cale moments. "Erm, yeah, we didn't see that, Cale. As a matter of fact...see what? I don't know what you could be talking about," Anna remarked. "So...ready for Hawaii?"

The giant doors of The Great Hall Burst open and there was a flash of black robes as a young girl came speeding down the hall towards the Gryffindor table. The girl finally slowed down a bit to where her friends sat and swiftly jumped up on the bench [next to the recently-tripped Cale Newell] and roared and impressively massive and almost realistic lion roar. She was obviously pumped up.

Jillian McGuffin grinned and yelled "GOOOOO LIONS!" fist, punching the air, before she opted to sitting down with her friends. "So," she said calmly as she reached for some cookies [and didn't act like a complete whacko]. "What's new with you guys?"
