Kairi grinned at Edward, "You really are a jolly little fellow, your like a little father christmas who laughs all the time," Kairi popped another chip in her mouth, so much for the last one. "Yeah," she said, turning to Chris, "The classes should be great, I can't wait for transfiguration and charms, and of course flying!" she said, grinning.

edwrd stole a chip off kairi's plate.

"we still gouing to puddifoots?"

"Hey!" Kairi said, as Edward stole one of her chips. She poked him in the arm jokingly. She grinned at him, then ate another chip. "Only if you want to," she said, pushing her red hair behind her ear and eating another chip.

"I still want to. They have great food.", Edward said poking her back.

She grinned at him then poked him back. "Really? Have you been there before?"

Chris saw they were having a private conversation and sttod up to leave. "Well i was nice seeong you again Kairi. I just saw one of my friends down the table. See ya.'" he smiled and sat down to his other friend Chris.

"Yes. I'm a fourth year remember?", he said stealing another chip.

Raiden pouted at the both of them. It was his fault, at least for Barry's situation. If he weren't here, then the older boy wouldn't have just had a fight with his cousin. Raiden would've kicked himself, if it were possible in such close quarters to do so without hurting anyone else.

"Are.. are you okay, Barry?" he asked softly as he took one of the hats. Raiden suddenly felt miserable. By coming over here, he'd helped spark a fight that had severed a family tie... "I would be happy to call you my cousin, you're a very nice person, Barry. And I don't have many cousins around here... they're all back in Japan and Korea, I don't get to see them too often."

The boy's last words caught him off guard and his mouth fell into a little 'o' of surprise. Hurt? How would he get hurt? Was he standing near something sharp? Raiden did seem a bit more accident prone in this place... Wait... He didn't mean-

"Oh don't worry about that, Barry," he said, a frown on his face for a moment before he smiled again. "I'm not afraid of anyone here... least of all that person."

He had friends who would protect him, right? Raiden looked around; the older boy seemed to have disappeared, and Raiden felt more at ease. And it seemed that Bree Finchley wanted him to stay... maybe he would. Maybe... yes. He was staying. He sank back onto the bench and stared at the hat in his hands.

"I think I'll stay, if you want me to, Bree Finchley."

Kairi looked up as Chris stood up to leave, she felt her heart tug, something that it had never done before. She nodded, suddenly feeling quite drained and tired, "Ok, I'll see you round," she said quietly as he left.
Then she turned back to Edward, "Oh, yeah, sorry father christmas, i forgot," she said, and then she sipped her pumkin juice.

"you okay?", edward asked.

Kairi looked at him and grinned, "Course," she lied, "Why wouldn't I be?"

As Chris left he felt strange, he pushed it to the back of his mind as he sat down withChris

It had been really hard not to tell her. They were best friends and shared everything, every secret, except this one.

turning to maggie, "V?" she said laughing, "Via was already a nickname for my name." And bout the Muffin's KAi had been saying, "You should share them Mag," VIa said as she grab some and started eating it.

Lizzie laughed as Maggie and Via came up with nicknames. "Hey, I think Mag is a great nickname. It could have been worse" she told Maggie. "In first grade I was called Lizzy the Fizzy. You know fizzy, like sizzling. That wasn't fun at all." She looked a bit sad at the thought, but cheered up. What's Via a nickname for?

"I dont know", Edward said. He could have sworn he felt a strange flex in her heart rate.

She smiled at him, "Here, have a chip," she said, picking one up and popping it in his mouth.
She couldn't stop herself from quickly glancing at Chris, not with her eyes, with her feet, so no one could notice.

Lizzie watched Kairi and Edward. "You two are just too cute to be true." she said smiling. She picked up a muffin (not green) from a plate further down the table and just sat there, tired and full of food. "You're a fourth year?" she asked Edward in the pause that was while Kairi ate another chip. She thought it was intressting with the older students, they most know everything about the castle... she thought. She enjoyed watching Kairi having a great time, talking to Edward. She was amazing, that girl.

"How has your day been?", Edward askedtossing a chip in the air and catching it in his mouth.

"Yep witch means ive had so much detention you would think i live in there", he laughed.

Kairi grinned at Lizzie, "Cute?" She giggled and ate another chip.
"It's been good thanks, what about you? Had any inciddents worth mentioning?"

"Almost got detention again", edward admitted.

"On your first day?! Blimey, you are a bad boy aren't you?" Kairi said, grinning.

The cute "couple" seemed to have a great time on their own, and she could easily see that Edward only wanted to look at Kairi, and speak to Kairi, and... she was pretty sure he liked Kairi. Lizzie desided to not disturb them unless they wanted to talk to her, and just sat there enjoying the whole situation.

Edward laughed. "Maybe", he said.

Kairi grinned and ate another muffin. "So, have you got any girlfriends over on the Slytherin table then, Edward?" she asked, eating another chip, "Or maybe even a boyfriend?" she said grinning.

"Nope, just you", Edward said.
