The Headmistress' Office If you've made it past the gargoyle, all that stands between you and the Headmistress is a solid wood door. On the other side of the door is a high ceilinged room with a desk at the far end. The walls are stacked with innumerable portraits, although they all appear to be sleeping deeply or otherwise engaged. The shelves and tables are lined with strange objects, some that seem almost familiar to you, and even a few you are certain are mutated Dark Magic Detectors. A low row of pictures line a bookshelf otherwise filled with various texts, and each features the same blond woman waving happily with some other person. You think you see a stuffed hippogryff and centaur peeking out from between the books. Behind the desk sits a woman either deep in thought or dozing into sleep. Her honey-colored hair is pulled into a short, elaborate braid down her back, and she is wearing dark blue robes with flowers embroidered along the hems and neckline. Overall, she gives off quite a solemn appearance, until a sound from you catches her attention. When she looks at you, you realize her eyes, while tired, are full of laughter and a smile plays around her lips. "What can I help you with today?" ooc: Do NOT, under fear of punishment and of me giggling and pointing at you... do NOT post in this thread unless you have the password legitimately. Also... the Gargoyle thread may be used as a sort of waiting area for the Headmistress. |
An owl flys in through the open window and leaves a drawing on the Professer's desk. It is a drawing of a tree by the lake with the castle behind it. It is wonderfully colored and has a note on the back that says Quote:

"Have a seat, ladies," Rae entered the office and pointed to the two chairs pushed up in front of her long desk. She took the cushioned seat behind it and folded her hands expectantly. "Would you like tea?" |
Alex sat down and looked at the headmistress. "No thanks professor." She said, surprisingly her throat wasn't dry, even though she was worried about what might happen. |
Reese walked in and sat down next to Alex.When the headmistress asked if she wanted tea she replied,"No thanks."She pushed back on her chair and brushed her bangs out of her eyes.She wasn't worried about what was going to happen,just a little bit nervous.She looked at Alex and reached in her pocket and felt the potions.She did a take this face to Alex and waited for her reply. |
Alex looked at Reese and noticed that she wanted her to take the potion. Alex couldn't see how she could get the potion from Reese without Profeesor Rae noticing and gave a look back saying not now. Alex was sure if they did move the potion now, Professor Rae would know for sure what was going on and they would definately get in trouble. |
Reese nodded and turned back toward the headmistress and waited. |
"So. Those are hefty accusations being hefted at you. What do you have to say to that?" She took a sip of her tea before giving a portrait on the wall a long level look. "Ah." |
"Accusations is a really big word to use on first years,isn't it?"Reese said."I don't even know what that means." |
"Well... if someone says they've heard you admit to stealing something and there happens to be a certain potion missing from the potion stores..." She shrugged. "If you return it now, I won't punish you for stealing." |
Alex fidgeted in her seat slightly. She wasn't sure if Reese didn't know what accusations was or not and thought Alex's best bet right now would be to sit quietly and wait to see what would happen, hopping that Reese really didn't know what the word meant. She let out a sigh of relief as the headmistress spoke. Alex looked at a portrait on the wall, waiting to see what Reese was going to say, she half hoped that she would give the potion to the headmistress, but that would also mean that they wouldn't find the truth about her father. |
"We didn't steal anything,"Reese said."Marco and that Hitachi dude made up a tons of rumors.They even said we were going to use it on you.We didn't do anything!" |
Rae put her cup down on the desk and pushed it away from her. "Why would a prefect and a respectable young student make up such vicious lies about two perfectly innocent little girls?" |
Alex tore her eyes from the portrait and looked at the headmistress. "I don't know professor, they seem to hate us for some reason, they even called us liers and I personally have not lied about a thing since I've been here." Alex said speaking for the first time. "We were just waiting for you because we wanted to talk to you about something important and they followed us here." |
"Well, here I am. Ask anything you want, and I'll answer as best I can." |
Alex looked at Reese, it was about her brother afterall, she figured it would be best if she talked about it. |
"Well,"Reese said."Me and Alex wanted to go to my brother's funeral.Alex was really close to him and I was,well,his sister.He just died and we really neede to go.We wanted to come and ask permission." |
"Of course you can attend your brother's funeral. I'm so sorry for your loss," Rae gave both girls a very sympathetic look. "I don't understand why you had to steal Veritaserum or punch someone in the face to do it, though." |
Reese's presure went out of her and said,"Okay,the truth is..."Reese turned towards Alex and then back towards the Headmistressa and said,"Alex,here.We think that her dad killed her mom and we need the potion to prove him innocent.Please don't kick us out of school,I'm sorry." |
Alex looked over at Reese, shocked with wide eyes. She just told the Headmistress the whole plan! Alex bowed her head, not daring to look at the headmistress, she was hoping that she wouldn't get detention or lose points for Slytherin, all the older Slytherin's seemed to hate them as it was just because they over heard them talking about stealing the potion. |
Reese looked at Alex and said,"Chill.I know what I'm doing.It's okay." |
Rae held out her hand, indicating the potion should be put there. "What proof do you have of his guilt or innocence?" |
Reese looked at Alex for help.She didn't want to give the potion to Professor Rae. |
Alex looked aver at her friend, she wasn't sure what to do. "Well, Reese thought that he might've killed my mother after I recieved his letter earlier." Alex said. "He said that I was nothing more than a filthy half blood who shouldn't be in Slytherin. He had never said anything like that to me before, he used to always stand up for me when it came to his family. But after my mother's death three years ago, he changed." |
"Girls, listen to me. You've admitted you HAVE the potion, which means that you will give it to me or you will not be going home for any reason at all. I don't mean to be unnecessarily harsh, but I have a feeling you're both going to spend time with me in detention." |
