Allie was now worried about the, Professor. She seemed like she was struggling with something. "Are you okay,Professor?"
Allie raised her hand.
"Umm, the mood would be a warm and cozy one."
she guesses. "So maybe some ferns."
"Either that or a Romantic mood." she said, thinking about it a little more. "So maybe so red roses.

Via stared at the Professor, she was suppose to be enjoying the class but she was getting worried about the Professor, what's wrong with her, she thought. She just listened as the others continued to answer. She scribbled things on her notes as she continued to watch PRofessor Korvis.

Rian listened to the class answer, thinking about what her answer. "Professor," she said, raising her hand for the first time in that class, "The room sort of has a homey feel, I think. I'd do maybe bright plants, purple maybe, to give the room some color. Or white or pink." she said shyly.

Raising her hand slowly, the seventh year replied, "If the room is dark and cozylike, then perhaps the mood could either be solemn or romantic too... probably more romantic, with the mention of the large stone fireplace. As for plants, something sophisticated yet sweet-smelling." She paused a moment, thinking over her words and having absolutely no idea if any of it was correct. "But Professor Korvis, you sure you wouldn't like some peppermint?"

She waved it off. "Whatever is peppermint good for?"

"What's that you can't do, Professor?" she asked innocently, trying to seem as concerned as possible. "Is something wrong?" Punz blinked and leaned forward a little, staring at the professor with wide green eyes.

Perhaps it was something involving the Ministry....yes...and their stupid lesson plans gone wrong.....or perhaps Punz was just losing it, like a dog chasing cars. And now the professor seemed to recover. Dang.

"Uh, the mood of a room like that sounds...mysterious?" She answered the question with her hand up, having no idea towards the actual answer. "Maybe some bushy...um....ferns. Yeah. That sounds cool." Punz nodded and grinned a little evilly.

Thinking back to her own home, where the furniture was mahogany colored, and had lots of plants. Liz raised her hand.

Professor, I would think that the coloring and setting of mood would be homey and welcoming. A little cabin like.

We have a lot of fern bushes in the corners of the livingroom. But we have some lovely daffodils and daisies on the tables for color.

"Yes! For such a dark sort of place, ferns are an excellent addition to make it more of a warm and cozy place. Though rather than daffodils and daisies, pansies or violets set the mood a little better due to their shape. Two points to each of you!"

This was getting ridiculous... What was she learning? This wasn't Herbology, this was decorating 101. "It definitely a romantic mood, elegant and sedictiveat the same time. Crimson roses would be my choice." She added.

"Romantic and elegant it very well could be, and crimson always matches well with dark colors. Two points for your insight." She smiled and looked to Jimmy for the next cue, having completely lost herself. "Let's see... Oh yes! So, your assignment in class today is to look through the flowers here and choose something that would be suitable for your common rooms! I'm afraid that I wasn't allowed to bring yellow in. Such a pity... it goes very well with so many colors!"

Amelia frowned when the Professor simply waved her off, not even taking any notion that she mentioned romantic mood first! And yet it was that slytherin prefect who got the credit for it. Trying to keep calm, the Hufflepuff instead decided to answer the question about peppermint, before thinking about their class assignment.

"Professor, peppermint is an herb that is thought to have medicinal properties when consumed. It helps against upset stomachs and can soothe and relax muscles when inhaled or applied to the skin," she explained, after raising her hand. "You just seemed slightly stressed, so I thought I would offer you some to help you relax and refocus," she added on, suggesting quietly.

As the seventh year waited for a response, she thought about what flowers she might use to redecorate her common room. Couldn't bring yellow in? Interesting... so she knows the rightful color of Hufflepuff...

Tommy grinned when the professor waved off Mia. Serves her right, that jump up little suck up. She isn't used to a teacher fawning all over her when she raised her hand and opened her mouth. Seeing that was worth dragging herself out of the Slytherin common room. That gave her some twisted sense of satisfaction.

She had a stupid grin plastered on her face as she listening to the professor drone on and on about nothing important that will make you be a better witch.

BanaBatGirl 08-13-2008 07:31 PM

Punz had to listen carefully to the rambling to actually understand what they were supposed to be doing. She did pick up on the words 'two points to you' and 'choose something suitable to your common rooms', though.

So....purple? Rapunzel liked purple well enough, but Hufflepuff Gold was by far better. She sighed and meandered towards the flowers. No need to ask why the professor wasn't allowed any yellow; the fact that Minister Cooper existed was reason enough.

"Are we just making an arrangement to match our common rooms, Professor?" Punz asked politely as she twirled a violet in her hand. That wouldn't be too bad, actually.

Cassandra was about to say something snide to Mia, when she saw Tommy's face. She smirked at her. She then looked at the bunch of flowers. What goes with Green and black... She began pulling white roses... this wasn't Herbology, Erikson would hate to know that THIS was how she was being taught.... maybe he'd be so appalled he'd tutor her privately... in Hogsmeade... she HAD to pass her NEWTs and she wouldn't by knowing how to decorate her common room. Yeah... private tutoring. That's what she needed.

Lizasaurus 08-14-2008 02:34 AM

"Oh! How fun!," Liz exclaims.

Hmmm, I think some lovely babies breathe, and pansies for sure. But we need some green I think too...

Droo 08-17-2008 05:45 AM

Cassandra arranged the roses in a silver vase and added plenty of green. She looked at it and thought it could have used color. Purple... Yes. She walked to the flowers and pulled purple ones. She then placed them in a very artistick way fashion in the silver vase... Ahh perfect.

"Professor?" She called. "Is this good?"

Allie started to think of what would look good in the Gryffindor common room. Well, red flowers, I guess.
Hse picked a few, and started to arrange them, when she was done, she called,"How is this, Professor?"

Heather had listend to evrything the entire time and felt a bit bored. She missed her old herbology class more than anything. She stood up and looked around at the flowers. She wanted something close to the gryffindor red. She went around and found one of her favorite flowers. Hetaher did the best she though she could and smiled.
"What do you think professor?"

Astrid wanted to make an arrangement for Gryffindor's common room that was bright and cheery! She selected her flowers according and scrutinized over how the arrangement would look best. Then she added a few more smaller flowers before she was finally satisfied with the result.

When she was finished, she raised her hand to show Professor Korvis her work.

"I decided to go with these lovely, cheerful flowers, ma'am. I think that they will help to brighten up our common room." she said. "Do you like them?" she asked.

She really hoped that the professor would see all of the hard work she put into the arrangement.
