Astrid raised her hand again and said, "The tiger lily symbolizes the feminine principle reflecting the qualities of mercy, compassion, kindness and unconditional love."

Allie raised her hand.
"A Tiger Lily represent wealth and pride."

Torie raised her hand. "I believe the tiger lily means enthusiasm, Professor."

Naomi raised her hand and said "Tiger lily means wealth and pride."

Melinda raised her hand. "A tiger lily represents wealth and pride...ma'am..." She said and quickly took her hand down, again itchy.

She looked between the students, half of whom were saying something about wealth and pride, and the others telling her what she had heard herself: they they represented compassion and unconditional love.

Next to her Jimmy had a small flashing light and seemed to be concentrated in doing something. Images of them were appearing in its jelly-like body. Was he... recording?

"Well, a point to each of you. Though it looks like I'll need to find some information..." Having been stunned a moment, however, she couldn't remember where she was going with that. "Um, where was I?"

Allie half-raised her hand.
"Umm, you were asking us what different flowers symbolized, Professor. You just asked us about Tiger Lilies." she said.

"Tiger lilies..." Cassandra said.

Torie tried not to giggle aloud. "Professor, what IS that thing?" she blurted out before she could stop herself. "It seems to want your attention for something."

Wow, it's true: herbology class really is a joke, Rapunzel couldn't resist thinking. The professor didn't even know the answers to her own questions!

"Perhaps we should head to the library, Professor," Rapunzel suggested sarcastically. "We could learn directly from the books about what a tiger lily represents." And maybe then the information would be correct...

Cassandra rolled her eyes at the idiotic puff... She REALLY missed Erikson...

"Ah yes, tiger lilies!" She giggled. Then one of the students pointed out her construct. "Oh this? This is Jimmy!" She smiled, patting the gelatinous cube levitating above a pair of feet. Its floating hands nudged her again, trying to get her to continue with the lesson. Unfortunately she loved to talk about her little construct. "Jimmy is an amorphous construct which helps me around the greenhouses! He can lift up to three hundred pounds, and he knows a lot of stuff! He remembers any book he absorbs, so he helps me a lot there as well! He'll even remember my lesson plans. He also remembers things the Ministry told me, since I wasn't really listening when they told me what I was supposed to do here."

Torie listened, intrigued, as the Professor talked about her construct. "Professor, what is he made out of? Did you grow him? How is it that he levitates? Will you teach us how to make one?" Torie was genuinely interested in the Professor's pet and sincerely hoped that the Professor would answer her questions.

Sure sure, the floating robot thingy was interesting enough - but wasn't this class Herbology? Not Muggle Mechanics 101? Punz could learn enough about tinker toys from her brother.

She'd never missed Herbology, even if it was one of her worst subjects, more than right now. At least back at Hogwarts the teacher stayed relatively on topic. Rapunzel sighed and rested her chin in her hand.

"Maybe Jimmy is trying to remind you of the lesson plans...." Punz muttered to herself, resisting the urge to doze off.

Naomi looked over at Rapunzel and thought how rude she is just answering questions. Naomi raised her hand and said "could there be two means of the tiger lily and thats why there were two different answers?"

"Oh no, I couldn't do that! No, he was a gift from a very dear friend. As for what he's made of..." She looked down at him. "I'm not sure. I just know that the Ministry knew all about him." She kneeled down and prodded Jimmy, who did not look horribly pleased with her. "To be honest, I don't always know what to do with him. I never quite made it through the manual..." Then one of the girls mentioned lesson plans. "Oh yes! He is!" She looked over as a girl mentioned two definitions. "Yes, that is quite possible. A point to you. It may also be the context..."

Jimmy nudged her again, throwing her off-balance, looking like it was fuming.

She sniffled slightly. "Jimmy, you didn't have to do that! That was mean." However she got up, looking more like her feelings were hurt than anything else. "You haven't been the same since you got back from the Ministry."

She huffed and looked back to the rest of the class, now completely thrown off from what she had planned. Did she have something planned? She looked down to Jimmy who was showing a potted plant in a room. "Right so... Everything needs to be considered," she said with a small sniff.

Allie raised her eyebrow. This was a strange lesson. She waited for the professor to give instructions.

Rapunzel was fighting a losing battle against her drooping eyelids....until she thought she smelled smoke or something fuming.

She blinked one green eye opened and almost giggled at the sight of the little Ministry construct nudging the scatterbrained professor. Perhaps class would get going now!

Punz tried to show a little effort and at least raised her head off of her arms where she'd been dozing resting. Even taking notes on the Minister of Magic would be better than listening to her rambling.

Tommy looked at Jimmy nudge the Professor into the floor. She clapped a hand over her mouth to stop from laughing. Raking her hand across her still tender lip and winced in pain. She looked down at her parchment so no one would see the slight smile on her face. this was turning into a rather nice lesson.

Amelia blinked, trying to force herself to stay awake. Herbology had never really been her best subject, but at least Erikson had an interest in the subject and tried to make it bearable for those who didn't enjoy it as much as he did.

Watching the frilly Professor and her apparent 'construct' with mild interest, she noticed it fuming. Got back from the Ministry? What in the world? Something fishy was going on around here... and it wasn't the fuming smell!

The seventh year was quite sure that the Professor didn't have an inkling of what they were supposed to be doing today. "Professor Korvis? Are you alright? Perhaps taking a whiff of peppermint might help you..." she suggested carefully. Be polite.

"S- so..." She seemed to be struggling the more she thought about it before she started whining. "I can't do this!"

Jimmy just looked defeated. It's cubic body raised itself up from the feet and seemed to be looking at her sternly. It showed her the image again, then pointed to the students.

She sniffled. "Fine." Who was the teacher here anyway? "S- so... The meanings... and colors... when you need to set the mood of a room..." She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "If you want a cozy living room... Say, the furniture is all dark colored woods, leather, and a large stone fire place. What is the mood? And what plants would help set that mood?"

Amelia continued to blink worriedly at the Professor and her construct, who seemed like it wanted to croak. Trying to focus on the words the Herbology Professor was saying, asking them, she couldn't help but wonder back to the peppermint thought. Better answer her questions first... she thought quickly.

Raising her hand slowly, the seventh year replied, "If the room is dark and cozylike, then perhaps the mood could either be solemn or romantic too... probably more romantic, with the mention of the large stone fireplace. As for plants, something sophisticated yet sweet-smelling." She paused a moment, thinking over her words and having absolutely no idea if any of it was correct. "But Professor Korvis, you sure you wouldn't like some peppermint?"

Rapunzel was definitely sitting up straighter now, listening - more like eavesdropping - on every word the professor said.

"What's that you can't do, Professor?" she asked innocently, trying to seem as concerned as possible. "Is something wrong?" Punz blinked and leaned forward a little, staring at the professor with wide green eyes.

Perhaps it was something involving the Ministry....yes...and their stupid lesson plans gone wrong.....or perhaps Punz was just losing it, like a dog chasing cars. And now the professor seemed to recover. Dang.

"Uh, the mood of a room like that sounds...mysterious?" She answered the question with her hand up, having no idea towards the actual answer. "Maybe some bushy...um....ferns. Yeah. That sounds cool." Punz nodded and grinned a little evilly.

Thinking back to her own home, where the furniture was mahogany colored, and had lots of plants. Liz raised her hand.

Professor, I would think that the coloring and setting of mood would be homey and welcoming. A little cabin like.

We have a lot of fern bushes in the corners of the livingroom. But we have some lovely daffodils and daisies on the tables for color.

This was getting ridiculous... What was she learning? This wasn't Herbology, this was decorating 101. "It definitely a romantic mood, elegant and sedictiveat the same time. Crimson roses would be my choice." She added.
