Professor Wesolowski sits behind his desk, his spectacles halfway down his nose and an unreadable expression upon his face. He barks in his typically gruff voice, "Hurry in the room and take a seat. Don't dawdle and lollygag."

He scratches his belly as he watches the boys file in to the room. Despite their presence, he sticks his pinky finger into his ear, twists, and then pulls out the finger to inspect the yellowish golden sticky substance. He wipes it on the knee of his tweed suitpants and moves on to the other ear.

OOC: A head's up: this lesson is going to run over a few days.

Finn listened to this self important blowhard and decided that perhaps Arithmancy was not a course which would suit him. Of course it might be because of a strange musty odor which seemed to permeate the room.

His stomach began to rumble a bit as he recalled the yoghurt he had eaten for breakfast. He gently placed a hand there and hoped beyond hope that something unpleasant didn't happen.

Chester walked down an aisle toward the pack of the room and requested of the class, "Everyone calculate their Life Path Number by adding together the reduced single-digit numbers representing the month, day, and year of your birth. If you have questions, ask your classmates and if they aren't clever enough to figure it out, then raise your hand and ask me."

Cale looked down at his parchment and began to calculate the Life Path Number:

He wasn't sure if that was right or not. He was unsure how to add the numbers together...maybe you were supposed to add everything together first and then reduce? Arg, he wasn't sure. He took the professor's advice and turned to Shel. "Hey, does this look right?" he asked.

Wow. He was gonna do bad in this class, he was certain.

The Professor's comments left Clifford's cheeks flush slightly, and he looked down at his parchment, scribbling down the calculations for his Life Path Number - willing his cheeks to cool down.

Shel had done this before, so it was not a difficult task. He took out quill and ink, dipping the former into the latter and bringing it to the smooth but yellowish surface of his parchment. Let's see..

Apedemak opened his note book and did the simple calculations quickly. This was old hat and easy to remember. Even the meaning of the number sprung quickly to his mind once he had finished. He was Laibon though, it was his duty to remember, even things he had no love for.

Samson was bent on scribbling aimlessly on his notebook. He didn't even know why he bothered taking Arithmancy. Oh well. Maybe when he made his schedule, he was in a good mood and wanted to take up everything. Hmph. Ah well. On with the calculating, in case Professor Wesolowski decided to check on his notebook.

Chester had fallen asleep leaning against his desk as he waited for the students to calculate their Life Path number. As he startled awake, he glanced around the room and, not bothering to respond to those with their hands in the air, Chester continued the lesson. "Now you all know your Life Path number, so you can determine the Pinnacle Age for your First Pinnacle. Calculate the Pinnacle Age for the First Pinnacle by subtracting your Life Path number from 36. The First Pinnacle begins at birth and runs until that age. After that, you will begin your Second Pinnacle, which we will get to very soon. Everyone calculate their Pinnacle Ages for the First Pinnacle."

Alright. So he had to subtract his Life Path number, which was nine, from thirty-six. Shel dripped his quill in his inkwell, scribbling away once more.

It felt like busy work but he dutifully carried it out none the less, quickly scrawled down the simple calculations.

Chester gave the men more than enough time to do simple subtraction and then continued, "Ok, for a good number of house points, how do we calculate the Second Pinnacle?" His dentures were really started to slide around in his mouth now and his fake teeth whistled as he talked. Clearly that new denture cream was not holding up as well as it needed to!
