There's a fantastic live band playing all sorts of old and beloved favorites. They're located on the dias that the staff table usually sits, and the entire room is full of loud and boisterous music. The tables have been pushed back to allow for dancing, and everyone is doing their best to keep up with the band.

Grab a partner and get out on the floor. Shoes are optional.

"Of course." she took his hands and squeezed them lightly, meeting his eyes. "Thank you again... I'll look forward to our next encounter." She smiled slightly and let go of his hands, then slipped off the dance floor, melting back into the crowd.

He nodded and started heading back to the staff table. He glanced and saw Cassadra there. He gave her a smile and a wave before heading off the dance floor.

Tancred smiled. Thank God that they were over with the term and with O.W.L.s! He wouldn't have to worry about those things until near the begining of next term. He'd have to somehow hide his O.W.L. results from his mother, who's have a fit if he managed to get an E for a few of his classes. He'd mainly have to hide that Ancient Runes result. Now he had one thing to think about over the summer: How to make that Ancient Runes grade look better than it was. Maybe, if he was lucky, he wouldn't have to worry about that.

"Oh, Mel," he said, his smile turning into a grin, "I always knew you were crazy. That's one of the many reasons why I love you." He quietly chuckled again at Amelia's crazy dancing. He was amazed at how she could shake her hips while holding on to him. Well, we're here to party, he thought, shrugging his shoulders slightly. "Well, that was ... different. We should give a name to this brand new way of dancing," he joked, winking at her.

Cassandra saw Erikson smile and wave, but for some reason, she wasn't able to return either of the gestures. Instead she nodded, as she would have any other professor.

She glanced back, checking if Clifford hadn’t got lost, and grinned nervously at him. Okay, calm down and breathe! What did she have to do now? Just wait right? After all, boys were supposed to lead…

Somehow she knew which subjects Tancred would be worried about, Ancient Runes and Herbology. She on the other hand, was worried about all her subject, but that was just her nature. Knowing Amelia, she probably did Outstanding in everything except maybe Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures. It wasn't that she disliked the teachers, but she just didn't care much for the subject material.

She frowned as he admitted to her being crazy. Weren't boyfriends supposed to be supportive and positive? She took a deep breath and realized that maybe he meant crazy in the good sort of way; like that they were crazy over each other. All of a sudden, she felt quite thirsty which was probably due to all the dancing they had been doing for what seemed like eternity. Whispering into his ear, "Do you mind sitting the next one out with me? I'm feeling quite thirsty..." she said, hinting that he should get them some drinks.

Clifford slowly followed Evangeline onto the dancefloor, he was secretly hoping she'd trip and fall again, at least then they'd have an excuse not to dance. He had no idea what he was meant to do, never in his whole life had he actually danced before, not with a partner anyway.

It didn't help that Evangeline was just standing there, apparently waiting for him to make the first move. He had been hoping she'd at least know what to do. Oh, what joy this was going to be. Not.

"Um - Um, okay." He squeaked nervously, trying to watch what the other dancing couples were doing, his breathing growing faster with the nerves. He wasn't even this nervous on the Quidditch Pitch. "Evangeline you - you might have to teach me." He muttered, swaying slightly on the spot, his hands still shoved deep in his pockets.

She then whispered into his ear. "Oh! ... I'll go and get the drinks," he said, holding her hand and leading her to the edge of the dance floor. When they made it to the edge, he slowly let go of her hand. "Just stay here and I'll be back in just a few moments." He nodded at her and walked toward one of the tables that had drinks on it.

Slowly swaying on her spot, Evangeline gulped nervously when he said she’d have to teach him. He had said his dancing was terrible so she had assumed he knew what to do! And he had asked her to dance before! Oh god…as if things weren’t embarrassing enough.

“Well, the thing is I don’t really –“ Was she really going to admit that there was something she didn’t know? “I don’t know how to dance.” She admitted with a sigh and looking at the other dancing couples, still swaying on the spot. Maybe she could learn by observation.

“Okay.” She took a step closer to him, her pulse quickening. “Look at them…” She nodded at a couple of students who were dancing. “We just need to do what they are doing.” Which meant being even closer, holding his hand. She was trying not to think too much about it. “And then we’ll just sway around.” Okay, it seemed simple enough.

Dan lead the way to the dancefloor wondering along thee way what he had gotten himself into, he was bound to make a fool of himslef he didnt know at all what he was doing, he glanced acorss to Eva and Cliff and nervously smiled in their direction ..... Cliff the same as Dan had the look about him that he didnt know what he was doin. Dan glanced across to Kate " err , you can lead darling " he said with a put on posh voice.

"No. That would be improper. You have to, darling," she added with a wink, her posh voice not sounding quite as polished as Dans. She sighed, as he seemed he didnt know what he was doing. Hm...Katelyn shook her head.

"I think you hafta put your arms on my waist, and mine go around your neck. If i can reach," she joked, her shortness...she took his hands and placed them on her waist, and then put her hands around his neck. Hopefully that was right. That was how she learned, anyways. "Now. You lead," she said with a giggle.

Clifford gulped when Evangeline sprung yet another surprise on him. She didn't know how to dance either?!? Could this get any worse? He snorted to himself, of course it could get worse. It'd get even worse when the actual dancing started.

When Evangeline took a step closer, it felt as though he had left his insides back at the table. But this was necessary if they were going to dance. "Okay, so um - let's see.." He said, watching the movements of a dancing couple close by. "I think we have to - um ... move closer.." With another deep breath, he took both hands from his pockets and took a hold of Evangeline's right hand in his. He wasn't sure where to put his left hand and left it swinging awkwardly by his side. He smiled nervously, "I'm sorry if I'm embarrassing you.."

Things werent getting anybetter, she placed his handss on her hips which in itself was embarrising for Dan who flushed slightly, not wanting to look too much like a fool he quickly shook himslef together and His skin tone was restored to the norm. But then came the real bombshell " you want me to lead Katelyn !?" he said a with a look of shock upon his face , great now he would look stupid.

He stood there for no morre than five seconds, hands on her hips , her arms around his neck, " there is only one move i can do properly " he said going a little red, Dan moved to the left and with huge relife Katelyn moved with him , he turned with her on the spot before miraculously managing to pull Katelyn in to a twirl, then dipping her down towards the dancefloor with his hand on her back For a split second Dans face was veryy closee to hers , Dan flushed slightly before bringing her back upright all in one fluid movement. Slightly amazed that he had managed to do this without tripping over Kate or dropping her he grinned slightly " i err told you i was no good "

Evangeline heart started beating even faster when Clifford said they had to move closer. She gulped nervously, even closer? When she had told him she’d like to dance she had never imagined it could turn out to be this…embarrassing. Her stomach started performing somersaults when he took hold of her hand. She had forgotten how good if felt to have her hand on his. She noticed he didn’t seem to know what to do with his left hand and noticed she didn’t know what to do either.

“You’re not embarrassing me, no worries.” Her voice was slightly higher than usual, probably just the nerves. Looking around, trying to figure out what to do with her other hand she, she spotted Dan and Katelyn and watched them for awhile. She gulped when she found out the answer to her doubts. “Cliffie, I think you need to put you hand on my waist.” She told him, her cheeks burning, and nodded toward where Kate and Dan where. Slowly, she placed her left hand on his shoulder, probably placing it around his neck would only make things more awkward.

She smiled nervously up at him, it seemed weird to be so close to him after everything. But it did feel good.

Katelyn nodded, and laughed. Jeeze...Dancing really wasnt that hard! And who cared if they looked like total fools? Psh. Katelyn sure didnt. SHe could care less what people thought...then he didnt something very complocated that Katelyn couldnt even follow, but her head was spinning after he twirled her around, and she laughed. His face had been mere inches from hers. SHe laughed as he blushed...

"Whoa there...slow down..." she said, letting go of him and putting her hands on her head. "But you're so adorable when you blush, you know," she said with a giggle. She loved embaressing Dan so very much. She didnt know why, but she did. She got her wits about her, and then went right back to the position they were in before.

"Dan, do you know how to sway?" she asked slowly, as if he was mental. "Lets try the basics first...before you spin me again. It was fun...but whoooa. My head hurts," she said sweetly, but laughed again.

Amelia gave a goofy smile when he told her not to worry about her dancing skills, and then giggled softly when he said that others weren't that good either. "Oh Tanc, you always have that way to boost my confidence level." She gently pushed his shoulder playfully, "But I'm still a horrid dancer..."

She was quite pleased that he had picked up so quickly on getting the drinks for them. Once they reached the edge of the dance floor, he let go of her hand, and she slowly brought it to her lips. "Thank you, Tanc. I'll be waiting right here," she said smiling to herself as she plopped down totally ungracefully against the wall. She pulled off her shoes, and leaned her head back against the wall to rest for a little bit. Her feet were killing her! Guys were totally lucky they didn't have to wear heels, despite how cute they looked with her dress.

A petite blonde entered, her robes were a deep violet and her hair was fell past her shoulders in soft waves. The tips of her inhuman ears poked out from underneath the strands and she rested against a wall, humming under her breath vaguely.

Dan grinned slightly , he could take her little attempts to embarris him " sorry i was trying to twirl some sense into you " he said sticking out his tounge, he was still tho a light shade of red . " and no im not , shush up " he said looking away from her for a few seconds trying to compose himself again, Dancing wasnt that bad , but Dan didnt want to over do it , or just do it completely wrong, he would much prefer if Katelyn lead.

" Sway ?" Dan said as he looked at her , this didnt sound to harrd and it didnt take that much effort but knowing Dan he would mess this up , rather than the twirl !. Dan grinned slightly " stop laughing ! " he said to her allthough he himself too was finding this pretty funny, he glanced across at Cliff who was far from finding it funny. Dan looked back into Kates eyes, he hated when that happend .... too loved upp .... Dan proceded to sway slightlyy fromm sidee to sidee. Dan caught a site of Blonde hair .... blonde hair that he recognised ....

Katelyn laughed.
"Sense? I have all the sense I need to survive..." she joked, and as he started to sway she went along with him.
"Good job! You're not that bad!" she exclaimed with a laugh. "Sorry, I cant stop laughing!" she said, and then followed Dans eyes he looked away. What is she doing here? Hmph.
"GO talk to her...I'm fine...I can dance by myself..." she muttered, trying to be nice. She liked Seraphina...but. Well....

Katelyn let go of Dan, and smiled.
"Go on, go ahead!" she prodded, crossing her arms and smirking.

It seemed he wasn't embarrassing her, that was good at least. "My - My hand ... your waist - okay." His voice, escaping as a little squeak. Hesitating a little, he lightly placed his left hand on what he hoped was Evangeline's waist. Okay, now he hadn't realised dancing involved being so close. But that's all this was - dancing, so it was okay. A little awkward, but okay.

He looked in the direction of Katelyn and Dan, hoping to pick up some tips, they seemed to have a general idea of what they were doing. Great, just what he needed now, to be shown up.

When he felt Evangeline's hand securely on his shoulder he gave a nod. "Okay, I think we have the general position correct ..... nooooow, what happens next?" He asked a little puzzled. "Do we just like - wiggle?"
