Natasha watched the interaction with a cat-wish-cream smile. She was extremely pleased to watch them all get along with such civility. She noticed a particular friendliness between Kingston Wendleworth the Third and Linday Hamilton. She thought of Bucky and Tag and had to suppress a smile. "Ooh, Hufflepuff prefect...how lovely!" she exclaimed, leaning in to take a good look at the badge, "I was quite close with the last Hufflepuff prefect, I hope we'll have the same friendship." Then she remembered the headaches she had endured thanks to Leonardo Moretti and thought it was better if she distanced herself instead. |
Jessica had an interesting personality;she was quite moody at times and changed her opinion on different things very quickly, but otherwise, she was a very nice girl. The previous year, she thought that divination is not a class for her interest, but now she really wanted to join those classes and meet the teacher. So she knocked at the door, waiting for an answer. |

Amelia smiled softly at the girl's wittiness; she liked this girl and although she had never seen her before, she was confident the girl would prove to be a wonderful asset to Hufflepuff. "The pleasure is all mine, Miss Lindsey," she nodded toward her. "Are you a new student here? I have not seen you around before," she added while taken a gentle sip of her tea. She turned her head to give her attention to the Professor. At first she grinned when the Professor seemed pleased to see her as the new Prefect, but then frowned slightly at the mention of how close friendship she had with last years prefect. If there was one thing that Amelia hated, it was being compared to others. However, as prefect, she would need to get over that because she was constantly being judged and evaluated. "Oh yes Professor, that would be nice about having that same close friendship or perhaps even stronger." She gave a smile and then added, "So what exciting new topics are on the agenda for us to learn this year?" |
Sabrina quietly sipped her tea. She was not responded to, but it seemed like everyone knew someone or the other in the room. She then realised that the boy whom she and Samson had met on the train -- who was upset about there being no first class in the train, was sitting there. She smiled uncertainly at everyone. The only Ravenclaw in the room. Should she leave and come back later, perhaps? |
"Oh, you cheeky child...you're not going to catch me off guard on my lesson plans." Natasha smiled that wicked smile of hers that used to strike fear in the previous Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain's heart, "But be sure to come prepared." She turned to the Ravenclaw, noticing that she was keeping very quiet. Almost as if she was trying to be as inconspicuous as possible in the room filled with Hufflepuffs, "And how about you, dearling? Are you planning on taking Divination this year?" |
Marco strolled up to Natasha's classroom. Hoping to catch some alone time with her. He saw her in the middle of the room. He didn't see anyone else there. He promptly sauntered up to her, and gave her a huge hug. He was considering a kiss but he did want to still hold his position as captain for another year. |
"I would like taking Divination,if that is possible, professor. My name is Jessica Mayer."she said politely."Do I need anything else for this class, except the book?" |
Cassandra sat outside Blaylock's office, waiting for her to be finished with her students. She hoped Erikson had told her she would come up to discuss relaxation... she kept thinking of Erikson and what she overheard from DeLuca's office. |

Whatever the students were saying to her or to each other was lost on Natasha as a tall Slytherin boy came in and hugged her. She jumped up in surprise, knocked her teapot over and fell to the ground beside her armchair ... right onto a puddle of hot tea. "YOOOWWWW!!!" She jumped up again and did a little hop and dance as she tried to shake off the pain. All the while, she was giving the Slytherin Quidditch Captain a strange look. "Marco Denver, what on earth do you think you're doing?" she asked, still hopping. She was blushing now as she realized what an idiot she must have looked in front of...was it a million students? It sure felt like it. |
Marco watched the Professor do the silly dance. It was funny, but it was also his fault. "I um just wanted to give you a hug Professor," Marco smiled, slightly sheepishly, "That's all. It wasn't meant to cause any harm." |

Sabrina took a sip of her tea when another boy walked in and actually hugged the Professor. Woah! And then - CRASH! Sabrina jumped up in fright as the Professor jumped herself and started yelling about, doing a weird dance which would have highly amused Sabrina if she didn't have some hot tea on herself. "OUCH!" She yelled and placed the tea cup beside her and brushed her hand over the spot where her tea had spilled on her. |
Natasha fanned herself with her hand as she picked up her wand with the other and cleaned up the mess she had made. The poor Ravenclaw had had a "Natasha Moment" herself and so she cleaned up that little spill as well. "Oh dear, next time please give me some warning before you decide to place your person in my immediate vicinity." She was still quite pink (due to the hug and the little dance) and felt a teeny twinge of guilt as she watched the young Slytherin smile sheepishly. "Perhaps I overreacted, but I've had bad experiences with students invading my personal space." She smiled to show him that she wasn't very angry. |
Marco blushed with embarrassment. He had caused so much disruption. He was absolutely useless. Amelia knew it. So did everyone else. "Ok Professor. I'm sorry. I'll leave before I cause anymore mess," he said, shyly walking away. |
Armand just about burst through her office door, which really said a lot about the strength of his legs that he could through a trap door. "Natasha! One of us is getting fired! I mean, not one of us like you and I... But Danni just heard that someone is getting fired!" |
Natasha was just about to call Marco back and offer him tea when Armand rushed in. She stood up, almost knocking the poor teapot over again, and watched him. Her hand had gone up to clutch at the collar of her shirt without her realizing it and she couldn't say anything for several moments. What did he mean? One of them was getting fired? Was it something they had done? It was probably going to be her, what with all her lessons that never went according to plan and her stuttering and her ... Oh Merlin, she was going to be unemployed! And Armand would have to stay here and work to try to keep their family together. And - and, she'd be banished to their cottage in Scotland, working the land to feed herself and Damian. Her breathing grew laboured. "W-what? Wh-Where did she h-hear that?" |
He walked over, taking Natasha into his arms, holding her close. "She was just in the Headmistress's office. Talking with Aggie and apparently it came up that someone's being fired." He looked down at her, clinging to her gently. "Merlin, Tash... Just think of if they find out about some of the things between my cousin and I. Or just my connections. And I know I haven't been a fair example to the students, either. I know I could get a job at the Ministry, but I don't want to leave this place." Quietly he whispered, "I don't want to leave you. And Damian... Dear Merlin, I can't have him at the Ministry..." |
Natasha's eyes filled with tears at his tender words and touch. He always knew just what she needed. She held on to him, "I'd go with you...you know that, don't you?" She pulled back, shook her head and attempted to smile up at him, "Cassandra would be a fool to let you go, dearling, you're an excellent teacher." |
"I have supporters, dear. I know there are those who love me. You love me. But all the teaching skill may not make up for those who fear, or even despise me." He caressed her cheek lightly. "I have a feeling there are dangerous times ahead of us." He gazed at her a long moment, thinking of the possibility that one of them may have to leave Hogwarts. "Damian. Let's go see him. Even if it's just for a little while, I want to spend some time with just the three of us." |
Marco was flung to his feet as Erikson flew through the trap door. He rubbed his eyes, hoping he wasn't dreaming. He was about to yell out at the Professor, but then he had mentioned the firing business. Marco was right. Rae had said something about it. He looked at Tash fondly, hoping she would stay here, and not follow that jerk around. His face dropped. She would leave here if Erikson was fired. |
Natasha nodded before she realized that her office was still filled with students. She turned to them with a sheepish smile, "I'm afraid I'm going to have to send you all on your way, dearlings...Professor Erikson and I are going to need some private time to discuss certain matters." She wondered why she bothered pretending nothing was wrong. They had all heard everything anyway. |
Sabrina was rather surprised to find another Professor burst in and the two of them were discussing something ... something about someone being fired. And the other Professor and his cousin. She blinked a few times. Perhaps it would be best to go away just then and come back later. Sabrina then heard the Professor tell them all to leave. She nodded and walked out. "See you later, Professor." She said and walked out of the office, wondering what that was all about. |
Amelia was standing in Professor Blaylock's office when Marco burst in and hugged Blaylock. Still holding her cup of tea, she dove behind some of the poufy cushions in there, hoping to avoid being seen by Marco. Of course, when she did so, the tea cup flew out of her hands and shattered within a few feet of where she was now laying on the ground. Before she could do anything else, Professor Erikson entered the office and they began discussion something. She didn't have to strain her ears to hear them, since they were talking in normal tones... something about a Professor maybe being fired... how peculiar. Next thing she knew Blaylock was ushering them all out of her office so they could spend some time discussing private matters. Personally, Amelia really didn't see the difference since they had already discussed more information than students needed to hear anyway. Unless, maybe they wanted to make a sibling for Damian. Ah yes, that had to be it. Amelia stood up, her hair disheveled, and brushed her robes off. She then muttered, "reparo tea cup" as her tea cup reformed and was whole again on the floor. She bent down to pick up the tea cup and then walked toward the trap door. "Okay, see you later Professor. Thank you and if you need anything, you know where to find me." She smiled, and walked down the ladder. |
Cassandra saw the Hufflepuff prefect walking down the ladder. As the door opened she could hear Marco, Blaylock, and the velvet voice of professor Erikson. Maybe this isn't the best moment to discuss this... she thought to herself, standing up and following the prefect down the stair at a distance... she loathed that one... |
[ooc: timeline is screwy, but this is after my first class] Natasha climbed into her office, made her way to her sitting area and sat down on one of the cushy armchairs. Her enchanted teapot appeared over her shoulder and poured out a cup of tea for her, as if knowing exactly what she needed. She sighed a small sigh of pleasure as she curled up her legs under her and sipped on her tea. It was glorious. Just the thing she needed. She shut her eyes and laid her head back on the chair, just enjoying the peace and quiet. |
