AJ raised her hand again, "Beasts are creatures that are hard or dangerous to try and control, they don't really have a very good sense of right and wrong, and are more closer to animals than to humans." she said, ignoring Cassandra addressing her simply as 'Silverstone.' She had to bite her tongue not to reply to that.

"Not all of them, some ponder and plot based on animal instincts" he chuckled, "but your on the right track. They do not reason much, one point for your answer"

Beasts are more animal like creatures or actually many of them are animals. After all..that's what the definition of beast is... An animal other than a human. Beasts can't necessarily control themselves so we give them ratings so that we know how dangerous they are and just what degree of control we can have over them if that makes sense. With this definition there are tons of creatures that fall under it from acromentulas to unicorns." Kerry said as she realized she was beginning to babble.

"Precisely the answer I was looking for, three points! Beasts are creatures with no intelligence, and their driven by animal instincts. They are mainly mammalian creatures though not always. Beast division holds all creatures that are simply not Beings or Spirits" looking at the class as he finished up.

He gave Diabolica a nod, "Indeed both of these creatures are under Beast status".

"Any questions before we move on?"

Angie 11-19-2007 04:49 AM

"Professor, Is there anyway that you can domesticate a beast?..like a hippogriff or a sphynx for instance?" Willow asked politely

DeathEater24601 11-19-2007 04:51 AM

Diabolica shook her head. Nope, no questions from her.....

mathi 11-19-2007 04:54 AM

Sana raised her hand, "Err..sometime some humans too acts like that, can we called them partial beasts?" She blinks as she knows her question was bit out of subject. She bits her tongue.

Helios Sunrider 11-19-2007 04:58 AM

"Beasts do not show kindness or hatred. They do not have the intelligence to forge weapons, nor the compassion to love. They tend to only tolerate others of their kind for mating or protection. Other species are viewed purely as something to kill or to be killed by. While it may seem crude, the simplicity and the purity of living by instinct should be admired."

Helios was speaking a bit louder this time, but did not yet command the attention of the class.

Krissy Moon 11-19-2007 05:01 AM

Krissy was taking notes like crazy. Half a page of parchment was already filled. She had no questions for the professor, but she found everything the others we saying fascinating.

SlytherinSistah 11-19-2007 05:02 AM

"I've got a question, Professor Clark." Claudian raised his hand again. "What can we make of those wizards and witches who are animagi while they are in their animal form? Or werewolves for that matter? I've read that they can slowly start to take on more animal-like behaviour as they keep changing...is there any truth to this matter? And if so, does this effect the way they are classified?" The slytherin boy looked a little worried. As if he'd asked the wrong question.

DeathEater24601 11-19-2007 05:07 AM

Diabolica smiled at Claudian. She supposed that they would be classified uder being, but she was't about to give a fellow classmate the wrong information....

Harmonizer 11-19-2007 05:13 AM

Samson looked down on his desk and snorted to himself quietly as the professor told him off. He decided that reciting now was a bit off his list of things to do. He scribbled down notes (illegible notes, by the way) on a piece of parchment and listened to the other students reciting, his chin propped on one hand.

"Not really, you can only domesticate creatures with ratings from X to XXX. Anything more than that would be highly dangerous, you can domesticate a hippogriph, but not a sphynx".

Fabian chuckled at Sana's peculiar question, shaking his head as he answered, "As inviting as it sounds, no. You cannot".

"They are still a human form" Fabian explained looking at the Slytherin, " werewolves transform every fullmoon and Animagi transform into animal form at will, even if they take on some animals traits. In my opinion, werewolves tend to take on more animal traits than Animagi's. However, they still remain humans at the end and can only be classified as a witch or wizard".

"Very well, we'll move on. The ministry classifies magical creatures on a rating scale X - XXXXX, who can list each rating's description?"

Angie 11-19-2007 05:16 AM

Willow nodded her head at the professor and then took notes. SHe heard his question, pondered a little about it and said, "x classified creatures would be the non-dangerous creatures maybe?" she said tentatively

shortfry 11-19-2007 05:17 AM

Kerry raised her hand, "I'll give it a shot. Let's see... it starts with X, which is the regular harmless creatures that are considered boring, then it goes to XX, which is also Harmless, but can or may be domesticated. Next is XXX, which I guess are creatures that aren't exactly harmeless, but competent wizards can handle, then there's XXXX which are more dangerous creatures and require witches and wizards with special knowledge and skill to handle them -these creatures must be respected. Lastly there is XXXXX, which is the most dangerous and extreme. These are known wizard killers and impossible to train or domesticate."

Harmonizer 11-19-2007 05:18 AM

Samson, of course, couldn't resist. He instinctively raised his hand. "The Ministry gives the classifications according to how dangerous or how difficult a creature is to capture. X is the easiest or least dangerous, and XXXXX is the most dangerous or hardest to capture," he said. If her were told off again, he wouldn't have minded. He'd laugh it off.

mathi 11-19-2007 05:19 AM

Sana smiled and raised her hand again. "Yes I can professor the Ministry defines,
XXXXX - Known as a wizard killer, it is impossible to domesticate or train this type of creature.
XXXX - Only should a skilled wizard handle this creature. Requires specialist knowledge, as this creature is still in its nature, very dangerous.
XXX - Strong wizard can cope with this type of creature.
XX - Can be domesticated and trained.
X - Boring" she finished and looked at him.

Helios Sunrider 11-19-2007 05:24 AM

"Tell that to the Egyptians." Helios muttered about the Sphynx comment. "Or perhaps it was the Sphynx that domesticated the Egyptians...hmmm."

DeathEater24601 11-19-2007 05:38 AM

Diabolica laughed softly at Helios's comment.

"Excellent!" he beamed at the students getting all the correct description, "One point to each; Willow, Kerry, Samson and Sana. This unfortunately brings us to the end of our lesson" he pouted to show how upset he was. He was rather having fun with the students.

Flicking his wand towards the board to display the homework:

"Homework is due exactly one week from now! Good luck! Drop by my office if you have questions" with that said, he lifted himself up to stand with his full height.

DeathEater24601 11-19-2007 05:41 AM

Diabolica smiled. It had been a good class, and Fabian was a good professor.

shortfry 11-19-2007 05:43 AM

Kerry wrote scribbled down some final notes and copied her homework down and began to pack up her bag, slinging it over her shoulder as she tossed her hair back over her shoulder and stood up, stretching her legs.

Walking towards the classroom, Kerry walked past Professor Clark "Wow, I never realized how tall this guy is," she thought to herself. "Bye professor, have a great day!" Kerry smiled. "Oh hey Professor, are we ever going to see you up on the quidditch pitch again? You played an amazing game during the exhibition match."

mathi 11-19-2007 05:45 AM

Sana was satisfied abt today's class. She took the new parchment and noted down the Homework due to within a week. Looks easy to do. She said, "Thank you Professor" before she packed up her bag.

DeathEater24601 11-19-2007 05:45 AM

Diabolica started stuffing all her papers and books into her bag. She needed a bigger bag.......

Pigwidgeon Took 11-19-2007 05:47 AM

AJ's smile faded to a slight look of boredom and copied down the homework. She then folded up her things and packed them all into her bag before leaving.

"Maybe" he looked at her shiftily then down at his Quidditch shoes, "maybe soon" then back at Kerry with a smile. "I don't think I played that well, I had a good team" winking at her, "students were amazing themselves, in my opinion".

"Your welcome Sana!"

DeathEater24601 11-19-2007 05:51 AM

"Have a good day, professor." Diabolica smiled as she loaded the rest of her things into her bag and slung it over her shoulder.
