Transfiguration - Lesson One Danni Pride was on her usual perch, sitting Indian style on her desk, as the students entered the classroom. "Fourth years and up on the right, third and under on the left, please." she said in a cheerful voice, "It'll be easier for me to keep track of you then." she added with a wink. Out from behind the desk she pulled out a jar of catterpillars and three boxes of wooden matches. |
Josey entered the transfiguration classroom with a grin on her face. "Hi, Professor," she said as she sat on the right. She couldn't wait for class to start. |
Cassandra walked in and nodded at her professor. She took a seat on the left, as she was instructed. Third year, and so much further to go. She pulled out her book, a roll of parchment and the quill her mother had given her as a present. She sat quietly and watched the others be seated. |
Kay enter quietly into the classroom. She smiled at the professor and took a vacant seat at the back of the room. After pulling out her notebook and quill, she sat patiently, waiting for the class to begin. |
Alexis walked into the Transfiguration classroom. "Hello professer." She said then she said down at a seat on the left. |
Pauline walked into the Transfiguration room. She saw a couple people in there already and went to go find a seat. She saw Kay sitting at the back and went up to the seat in front of her. She smiled at Kay and took a seat waiting for the class to begin. |
Jolie was ready for her first Transfiguration lesson at Hogwarts. Hugging her books to her chest she slid to the right side of the room as the teacher instructed. Jolie tucked a stray strand of blonde hair behind her ear and eagerly awaited the beginning of the lesson.. wandwork was, after all, one of her best talents you could say. |
Erin waltzed into the Transfiguration classroom, a smile on her face. She was happy, and she hoped the professor wouldn't mind her dancing as she came in. As she was instructed, Erin took a seat on the right side of the room. She was a fifth year. Erin placed her bag on the floor beside her chosen seat, one in the second row. Once seated, the girl pulled out her book, wand, quills and parchment. To pass the time before everyone else arrived and the class began, Erin opened her book and began skimming over the glossary of spells in the back of the book. |
Megan skipped in and sat on the left side of the room in a desk at the front. She pulled out her textbook, parchment, ink, and a quill and sat waiting for the Professor to start class. |
Natalie entered the classroom and nodded to Professor Pride, "Good day, Professor." she said as she walked to the right of the classroom. She sat down and took out her school supplies before setting her bag down, under her desk. |
Dinara walked into the Transfiguration classroom and waved a hello to the professor. She then followed the instructions and being a first year she took a left and sat down toward the front of the room. She then sat her bag on the floor and pulled out her quill, ink, and a new sheet of parchment. She was ready. |
Upon entering the room, Kennedy heard Professor Pride request that third years and below sit on the left side of the room. Kennedy walked to the front row on the left side and took a seat as close to the center as possible, while still remaining on the left. She then proceeded to take out from her tote bag her Transfiguration text book, a quill, ink, and parchment. She awaited further instructions from the professor. |
Kiara entered the classroom without making any sound. Ah... She had missed that particular class so much. Well, actually, that was probably the only class she had ever missed but then again Transfiguration had always been the one subject she considered to be the easiest. Quote:
As she looked around, she noticed that there were more and more students in there by the second. Not wishing to have to stand while the teacher spoke, Kia sat down near a girl she had never seen before at Hogwarts but seemed to be from her house as well. 'Hey there' She said softly as she took a seat. She then put her books, a piece of parchment, a quill and ink out of her bag, ready to start taking out notes. |
Danni hoped off her desk and closed the door, "Alright, anyone else who walks through that door will now be officially late and have five points taken off their house. Now, on to the lesson, Lets burn some caterpillars!" she said picking up the jar and a box of matches. She stared around the room for a second before bursting out laughing, "I'm only kidding, I would never hurt these little guys." she said as she picked up one of the caterpillars she had named Zork and put it on her shoulder. "Ok, each of my first through third years students will be given a match, and each of my fourth through sevenths will be given a caterpillars. Anyone care to venture a guess as to why?" |
Rachel ran into the classroom at break-neck speed. She freightened the professor and the students in the classroom. She had been late to too many classes and she refused to be late to this one. She promised the professor to study hard and being late didn't count as studying. "Hello, sensei." She sat down and got out her parchment and quill. She was determined to be the best in the class. |
Dinara thought for a moment and then raised her hand. "Is it because non-living objects are easier to transfigure than living objects?" |
Natalie raised her hand, "To transfigure them, Professor?" Natalie suggested, stating the obvious. "But matches would probably be easier for them." she nodded at the younger students. |
Alexis raised her hand."Um maybe it's harder to work with living things?" |
Erin eyed Professor Pride when she mentioned burning caterpillars, but once she realized that the woman was joking, Erin laughed along. Once the professor asked a question, Erin raised her hand. "Because caterpillars are living creatures, so they are more difficult to transform. Therefore, it makes sense for older students to try transfiguring them, because the magic is more advanced. And matches, nonliving objects, aren't quite as hard to transform, so they'd be more suitable for younger students." Erin smiled, quite sure that she'd given a fairly good answer. |
Sarah who was on the left hand side was confused. She knew it was to transfigure but wasn't sure to what they were transfiguring. She looked up quill in hand with a piece of parchment. |
Kennedy raised her hand and replied, "With a match, it is as simple as transfiguring a unimodal piece of wood, whereas with a living thing, there are different body parts, such as a brain, which make it much more challenging to successfully transfigure." |

"As for you younger students, you will be turning your match into a needle, try not prick yourselves! The spell is Slinario. Ok everyone, off you go!" she said smiling kindly as she passed out matches and caterpillars. "Oh and younger kids, try not to set yourself on fire." OOC: Natalie you were also correct but I have a no editing rule in my class ;) |
Dinara looked from Professor Pride to her match. She thought, well here I go...I hope I don't set anything on fire! She wrote down the spell used to transfigure the match into a needle and then picked up her wand. She took a deep breath and focused on her match. She raised her wand and said, "Slinario!" Dinara was pleasantly surprised at the result. "How is this Professor?" |
Jolie had just been rearranging her books when an older girl, in her house though, took the chair next to her. Careful not to lose any house points Jolie only gave the girl a polite smile - hopefully there would be time to talk after class. Deciding it would be best to lie low for her first class, Jolie was only too happy to let someone else answer the question, although she was a tad disappointed it hadn't been a Ravenclaw. Taking a caterpillar she looked at it for a moment, it was cute - all fuzzy and little. Jolie rolled up her sleeves and closed her eyes.. then started waving her wand. Although nothing happened. Nonverbal spells had always been a dud with her. She looked at the girl next to her, hoping for some inspiration, maybe if she knew how to do it, she could teach Jolie. |
Erin smiled at Professor Pride as she gave her a few house points. Then, as she listened to the instructions, Erin's frown flipped over. Nonverbal spells. She'd attempted them a few times, and most of her attempts failed. Erin was sure that this would be tricky. "Thanks, Professor," she mumbled as she was handed a caterpillar. With the little guy in her hand, Erin examined him. He was actually quite cute, she decided. Marky-Doo. That seemed like an excellent name for a caterpillar. Erin set Marky-Doo down on her desk and picked up her wand. She was hesitant, but she continued anyways. Slinario, Erin thought in her head, trying to make the voice inside her sound confident. Nothing happened. The caterpillar was still a caterpillar. |
Kennedy received a match from Professor Pride and placed it on her desk. She then pulled her wand out from her robes and cleared her mind. Focusing only the task set before her - changing a wooden match into a metal needle - Kennedy pronounced the spell "Slinario" several times before actually casting it. Feeling slightly nervous but confident of her capabilities, Kennedy pointed her wand at the match and firmly said "Slinario!" all the while keeping her mind on her goal. After she had cast the spell, Kennedy closed her eyes. She was afraid she would be unsuccessful and was afraid to look. She had most been looking forward to Transfiguration and if she wasn't good at it, she would have been heartbroken. Peeking ever so slightly, Kennedy saw a glint of light from the top of her desk. Realizing she successfully transfigured her match on the first try, Kennedy said out loud but more to herself, "Yes!" Smiling, Kennedy sat staring at her match while she waited for Professor Pride to continue the lesson. |
Natalie nodded to the Professor. Oh great! Non-verbal spells! I'm not good at them at all! she sighed but shrugged it off, waiting for more directions from the Professors. OOC: Sorry, Rachel. Didn't know. XD |
Natalie nodded to the Professor. Oh great! Non-verbal spells! I'm not good at them at all! she sighed but shrugged it off, waiting for more directions from the Professors. OOC: Ahh sorry, Rachel. Didn't know. XD |
Alexis took a match from the Professor, and took her wand out. She put the match on the desk then, she took a deep breath in. "Slinario." she muttered. She looked and saw that nothing was different. She took another deep breath and this time she spoke very clearly. "Slinario." This time with she looked down she saw that she had transfigured the match. She smiled than listened for the professfor to speak again. |
Torie took out her wand and stared blankly at the match sitting on the table before her. She figured she wouldn't have much difficult with this as their first lesson last year was changing caterpillars into pencils. The second year student pointed her wand at the match and firmly spoke the charm after giving her wand a flick. "Slinario!" she said clearly. The match grew more slender, but refused to change into a needle as it was supposed to. Torie furrowed her eyebrows and gave a hurrumph noise. Pointing her wand again, she tried the incantation once more. "Slinario!" she said. This time, the match became more slender, and had a small hole in its top, but it still kept the appearance of a match. Torie sighed. She gave her wand an aimless flick, and muttered slinario under her breath. To her relief, the match turned metalic, and finally assumed the appearance of a proper sewing needle, eye and all. She smiled in satisfaction and looked around the room to see how her classmates were faring. |
Sarah had carefully and clearly written down the word she needed to use. Concentrated on it and moved her wand and said, "slinario" she looked down at it then raised her hand, "Professor did i do this right?" she questioned with a half smile on her face havlf in concentration. |
Cringing slightly, Natalie took her caterpillars. Ugh! I hate creepy crawlies! she thought to herself. The caterpillar started to move in her hand, she shrieked loudly and dropped it onto the desk, closing her eyes. "Oh no, go away, please go away!" she whispered in a panic. She opened her eyes to find the caterpillar still there, "Oh no..okay, just concentrate." she whispered, not caring if people thought she was mad for talking to herself. She started swishing her wand and thinking the non-verbal spell, nothing happened. Her heart wasn't really in it. She really hated creepy crawlies. |
Kiara raised her eyebrows as she heard the Professor speaking. She couldn't believe they were actually going to use non-verbal spells already. She loathed having to do spell work without speaking since that required a lot of concentration and she didn't like to have to be focused on something for too long. As she silently cursed herself for not having sat near the third years, she grabbed a caterpillar. As she saw it, she couldn't help but grin at the thought of what her cousin would do at the sigh of that little animal. She placed the caterpillar on her desk and took her wand off her pocket. She looked at the girl next to her who was smiling at her. Without thinking back, Kia did the same. Not wishing to be spotted by the professor and see her house losing points, the fourth year Ravenclaw looked back at the caterpillar, focusing all her senses on the animal that was moving slowly on her desk. Once she was sure that she was more than concentrated, she pointed her wand at it. Slinario! Nothing happened. Kiara sighed and closed her eyes for a second. Then, she opened them again and focused herself once more on the caterpillar. She had to do it. She just had to. Slinario! She repeated. This one time she could swear she had seen a spark coming out of her wand. However, the animal hadn't changed in any way. |
Brooke smiled and said, "Thank you." when she was handed her match. She took out her wand and pointed it at the little match. "Slinario." she said quietly. When she looked at it again only the bottom end of it had changed. She sighed and looked at it again trying to remember how she said it last time. "Slinario." she said a little more confident this time. She grinned once it had finally fully transfigured. |
*stabs spelling mistake-->difficulty* |
Cassandra smiled at Brooke, who was seated next to her. She also pulled her wand out of her pocket and said "Slinario." The match turned itself into a small thin pointed object, that was dull on one end with a slit through the metal. Cassandra touched it. It was metallic, undoutebly a muggle instrument of some sort. She knew what a match was, but the needle instrument was foreign. Cassandra sat back and hoped she had done it correctly. |
Sam scratched his head right hand as he looked down at the caterpillar in his left. He let the small bug down on top of his desk. He placed his hand quickly inside of his robes and pulled out his wand. He held the wand firmly, but with a somewhat loose grip as he concentrated on the caterpillar. Sam then cleared his mind, which was very hard to do at this moment, and pointed the wand at the center of the caterpillar. The spell grazed the tip of his tongue and filled the edges of his mind. This was going to be the first spell that was to come of his wand, and nothing at all happened. The caterpillar crawled slowly along the desk. |
Dinara looked at the object on her desk. At first she thought it was a good needle. But then she examined it a bit closer. There was defintely a hole for the thread, but the tip was a bit dull. She hoped that the sharpness of the tip didn't matter. But deep down she knew that the needle should be sharp. |
Amelia looked over at her friend Dinara, and smiled, then looked back at her match that the Professor had given her. She hoped that she would be able to successfully transform a match, seeing as how much she looked forward to this class the most. Carefully gripping her wand, she muttered the spell softly in her head first: Slinario. She pointed her wand at the match and concentrated for a moment, "Slinario", Amelia spoke in a nice clear voice. She smiled at the brilliant light that shone from her new needle. First try... i can't believe it, she thought, i guess transfiguration really is my subject. |
Aurora Took the match and set it on her desk. She concentrated really hard on the incantation Slinario. She then picked up her wand and tried it for the first time. She saw a small glimmer of light and when she looked at the match.. it had transfigured.. not completely though... she got a wooden Needle. "Oops!" she said out loud. "Guess that wasnt it!" |
Cassandra looked at the Fourth years trying to perform their non-verbal spells. She remembered her father trying to teach her how to cast a non-verbal spell, the year she left for Hogwarts. Even then she was a dissapointment to him. She covered her thoughts with a smile and waited for her professor to evaluate her work. |
Kiara took a deep breath and eyed the caterpillar and her wand. Her concentration was failing for some reason or maybe it was because she simply couldn't master the spell. No. She could master the spell, it was the concentration bit that was missing. She closed her brown eyes softly as she pretended to be looking at the floor. Clear your mind she told herself. She kept her head down for perhaps a minute or two until there was only one thing occupying her mind: the spell. She then looked back to the caterpillar and took a firm grip on her wand. She was a Ravenclaw and Transfiguration was her best subject so why shouldn't she be able to do this easily? Slinario! This one time, something funny happened. The caterpillar somehow jumped so that once it was back on the desk it was had flipped. Feeling slightly disappointed, Kia sighed and started muttering. |
Dinara looked over at Amelia and smiled. She was happy to see that she was able to transfigure her match successfully as well. Dinara looked up at Professor Pride and waited to get feedback on her result. |
Amelia looked over at Dinara's needle and let out a small chuckle, "Well, it looks like mine is a bit shinier than yours, no?" |
Dinara had to laugh as she nodded in agreement. She just hoped that it was up to Professor Pride's par. After all, it was her first time trying to transfigure anything. She was quite proud of herself. |
Aurora looked around and noticed that most of her class was able to transfigure their match... she hid her under her hand and tried to sink lower in her seat. She hoped the Professor wouldn't see it. She didnt want to be the laughing stock of Ravenclaw. |
Ringo stared at his caterpillar, wrinkling his long nose in disgust. He gave it a half hearted poke with his wand. |
Cassandra looked at the Gryffindor who poked his caterpillar and whispered "Poke it again, and you'll be sorry..." Cassandra hated witnessing any kind of cruelty to animals. She didn't care if the boy was a fifth year. |
"It's not like I hurt it..." he hissed at her. Who was she to threaten him? |
She had been quiet all through the class taking as many notes as possible, not wanting to miss a thing. Ariana stared at her match her brain having gone to mush after all the studying she had done over the past week. She held her hand out shaking slightly and muttered the spell over and over in her mind Slinorio...nope, not it...Slimario...hm... still doesn't sound right...Slinario. Ok ,got it now let's try. She raised her wand and took a deep steadying breath as she said aloud, "Slinario" her wand pointed at her match. The match seemed to quiver or a second but nothing else happened. After a few more minutes of saying the spell in her mind again she tried one more time "Slinario" she said, more determination in her young voice. This time the match began to change, stopping once it was half transfigured. "Well, it's a start" she muttered to herself as she loked around and saw everyone elses work. |
Cassandra turned away from the Gryffindor, lifting her chin, with an air of superiority. How did he not know he hurt it, I should poke him! she thought to herself. |
He moved away from the twerp and practiced by himself. Being a half elf, he never really needed to use a wand, but over the years he managed to get the hang of it. |

Dinara looked over at her fellow housemates. She really wished they would stop talking. It would defintely lose Slytherin more points they couldn't afford to lose. She adjusted the way she was sitting and practiced pronouncing the spell in her head. |
Aurora took her hands off her hidden "match/needle" and thought she would try again. When she was sure no one was looking she whisperedSlinario and pointed her wand at the object on her desk.... and ... nothing. still a wooden needle. Her mum always had trouble in this subject.. maybe... just maybe it was genetic. So, Aurora hid her needle/ match thing again and waited to see what would happen next. |
Megan looked down at her match. "You will change for me little match!" She announced cheerfully. She stared at it and thought, 'Slinario'. She looked at the match. Nothing. 'Hmmm,' She thought. 'Maybe I blinked when I said the spell.' She stared at the match again almost daring herself to break eye contact. 'Slinario!' She thought again. Her match began sliver and pointy. "Yes!" She cried outloud, almost forgetting where she was. She was so close! |
Kirilia eyed her match thoughtfully. She had been waiting for this class forever and she really wanted to try her hardest. She drew her wand and pointing it straight at the match she took a deep breath and concentrated hard "Slinario" she said grandly as she waved her wand at the match. She leaned over and peered at her match. Well, if she squinted one end did look a little pointy. She sighed and watched her fellow class members for abit. Most everyone else had a little trouble, too. Feeling slightly better she turned back to her match. She concentrated on the match, picturing it in her head, running her mind over every single splinter and bump. Then taking her wand again she waved it over the match "Slinario" she said firmly, whilst picturing in her head the way she wanted her match to go smooth, pointy and silver. She was concentrating so hard she didn't even notice she had closed her eyes and was now looking at her match with her mind's eye. Startled, she opened her eyes and stared at her match. Or what used to be her match. Instead of the little wooden splinter there was a shiny, silver, pointy... match. She shook her head and laughed. She couldn't expect to get it right straight away. Still, she thought that it was a fairly good effort. She focussed again on her match, and prepared to try again. |
'Slinario! Kat said. She tried over and over. after many trys one more "Slinario" kat looked down. Well her matchstick was no needle but it looked pointier and maybe a little silvery. She kept trying hoping to get better. |
Em eyed her match warily "well here goes"she said "Slinario" it turned silver like a needle but was still a mat ch she frowned "Slinario!" she said more firmly it got thinner 'well maybe next time....'she mumbled |
Jasmine, her chin in her hand, looked at her match and pointed her wand at it. Trying to concentrate, but finding it hard with everything that had happened today, she somewhat halfheartedly said "Slinario.." The match unfortunately remained a match, although it did flip over. Sighing, Jasmine tried again," Slinario." Nothing. Getting a bit irritated now Jasmine sat up straight pointed her wand at the match and said loudly and clearly,"Slinario!" The match twitched a few times, turned silver, then narrowed out into a small steel needle. There. Having completed the task asked of her Jasmine again slumped in her seat. Her mind once again filled with unhappiness. |
Cora looked at her match. This whouldn't be too hard. I hope I do good in this class, she thought to herself. She pointed her wand at the match and said, Slinario. If she had not been watching, she would hae thought that nothing happened to her match, but she noticed that it became a little thinner and a little more greyish silver. Not quite a needle, but at least something happened. She tried again and this time, the match turned grey and actually started to resemble a needle. She kept practicing each time it was getting better and better. |
Suzy sitting on the left side of the room, grabed her match and placed it infront of her. Suzy took a deep breath and said, "Slinario." The match turned into a needle. She was so very excited, and couldnt believe she got it on her first try. Usually transfiguration is much harder for her. |
Cassandra looked at her match and sighed, 'Slinario' She thought over and over. "Slinario." She said, but she didn't do the spell, just getting the feeling of the word. She pulled out her wand, "Slinario" The match faded a tad, after around 5-10 tries, the match became a silver. After another 10 tries, it became pointed and thin. 'Finally...' She thought, she looked around the room at everyone else. |
Kirilia looked over at her friends as they tried to transfigure their needles too. She smiled at them and then turned her attention back to her own match. Her attention was then caught by Jasmine and her success. If Jasmine could do it, so could she! She turned her full attention onto the match and tried again to picture it in her head. Taking her wand, she concentrated on her picture of the match turning into a needle in her head and focussed her entire force of will upon the match, "Slinario!" she said commandingly. As she peered down at her match she gave a cry of delight. Her match was now a beautiful silver, pointy needle. She held it up and inspected it closely. Yup, it was a needle alright, not a bit of wood or match-ness at all. Kirilia looked over at Em and Kat. She gave them a wide grin, pointed to her lovely needle and winked. |
Kat tried and tried and finally "Slinario" she looked and there was a needle. It wasn't at pointed as it could be but it ws no matchstick! Kat was excited and knew she would enjoy this class. |
Cecilia samiled after the professor had given her instructions. She pictured a perfect needle in her mind's eye, carefully pointed her wand and tapped the matchstick as she said "Slinario". She smiled happily as she saw her matchstick become a perfect sewing needle. |
Linda took a match from the proffesor with thanks. She took a deep breath and thought about the spell. She tried to imagine a needle in place of her tooth pick when the Proffesor said not to set yourself on fire. Now a good measure more nervous at the prospect of trying to do this Linda foucused on the needle. Come on!! She thought silently and then wispered, "Slinario," and thought more about the needle, after a few seconds her tooth pick began to elongate. Linda gasped but kept her eyes fixed on the needle, it stopped growing longer and grew fatter on the sides. Oh so cool! The shape began to change slowly and it turned a dull white. Linda sat in her seat staring at a long white knitting needle. Well I hope that's what she was looking for. She never thought that the professor might be looking for a thin metallic one that would be slightly smaller and Linda skwirmed. She turned her head looking for the proffesor and then picked up the needle. "I think I did it, but I'm not sure if it is what you asked for excatly," Even if she was nervous, her voice covered it up completely, her voice rang deep but loud and clear and every word was clearly pronounced with a strange not typical accent. |
Molly eyed her uncooperative matchstick as it sat before her. She hadn't expected this to be as hard as it had turned out to be. "Slinario" she commanded, but like every try before, the matchstick was just the same. "I must be doing something wrong" she said in a whisper. Looking around the room she saw several students with needles in front of them. |
Cora nodded confidently and picked up her wand. Glancing around at other students, she saw that the Hufflepuff girl in front of her had not yet managed to transfigure her matchstick. Smiling kindly, Cora stared defiantly at her own little piece of wood that lay before her. "Slinario!" She said clearly, waving her wand over the matchstick. She frowned as it merely wobbled a little. Raising her wand to repeat the spell, Cora grinned as her matchstick suddenly began to lengthen and turn silver... Beaming, Cora twiddled her wand between her fingers and picked up her newly transfigured matchstick, which was now a shiny needle. "Professor? Is that right?" |
Ariana held her half match half meedle and looked grim. She was going to do this or go crazy trying. She placed the match/needle onto her dsk along with her wand and began to focus all her energy into getting the spell right. She knew she could do it she just had to concentrate. Soon her mind was at peace and she was focused on her goal, of changing the match into a needle successfully. Taking a deep clear breath she said the word in her mind ovre and over again until she had it right. Taking a deep cleansing breath again, she picked up her wand and stared at the match and said with a clear-cut voice " Slinario!" She stared at her match and was in awe to find it slowly lengthening. Ever so slowly the brown wood of the match began to change chape; instead of a broad piece of wood there was now a thin line of metal. The tip of the match began to squash down into a pin head shape glistening in the light as the transfiguration stopped and all that was left was a shiny metal needle. Ariana grinned proudy as she looked at it and raised her hand, "Professor, is this correct?" she asked nervously. |
Bess took the match from Professor with a "Thank You''.She was quite tensed...Well,she had read about the basics of trandfiguration.....or atleast, she thought so... "Slinario!",she said in a crisp voice....Wo!The brown wooden match changed it's form rapidly.A very pointed end appeared followed by a silvery and a slim body. The thread-hole also appeared.Bess sighed. But the only thing was....the thread-hole of the needle was not too clear... Bess picked up her needle to take it to professor, but, "Ouch!" The needle was so sharp that it pricked Bess' thumb!..... |
He finished with his caterpillar and started staring off into space. He tapped his wand against the table, lightly. He always wanted to be a drummer, had he been born without any magical qualities. |
Athena took the match handed to her, and set about trying to change it into a needle. She carefully lay the match on her desk and pushed back her sleeves, carefully held her wand, pointed it at the match and said the spell, "Slinario" nothing happened. She sighed, hopeing to not have a repeat of last year, set her resolve and again said the encantation. She was heartned to see the match give a faint shudder, and become a little bit shiny. She smiled as she said in a clear firm voice, "Slinario!" This time the match obligingly turned into a needle. She carefully picked up the needle and proudly inspected it, "only three tries this time!" She said quitly to herself. |
'ok lets try again' "Slinario!" hmmmm maybe she pictured it in her head she saw Kirilia wink at her hmmm she closed her eyes and said clearly "Slinario!" she opened her eyes and looked at her needle-wait needle? she did it she had turned her match into a needle! "Yes!" she whispered as she punched the air she turned to Kirilia and mouthed me too |
Nat looked around her and the other students practicing this spell and saw the success and failures of her fellow students. She looked at her match intensely and tried to block out all the noise and goings on around her. She waved her wand and said strongly "Slinario". She held her breathe and saw the match turn into a straight silver pointed needle. Pleased as punch with herself, she sat and watched the others around her, waiting for the lesson to move on |
Patrick took out his wand and took a match from the professor. This was his third year. He put the match down on his desk and pointed his wand at it. "Slinario," he said confidently. The match changed almost instantly silvery and metallic. A needle. It had been a rather simple exercise. Doing Transfiguration for three years he hadrather hoped that they might do something a bit more chanllenging. |
Reign looked at her match, she whispered. "Now, you really have to be a needle." She then took her wand, and said "Slinario!" while closing her eyes. She was definitely in doubt she would do it but as she opened her eyes, there it was a shining silver needle! she had done it! |
Cora's hand shot up in the air, as she gazed happily at the shining needle that lay on her desk. "Professor! I've done it, Professor! What shall I do now?" |
"Very good! I see most of my younger student have managed to turn their matches to needles. Now, you older students, where are my pencils? Come on, try to turn the caterpillars into pencils. Non-verbal spells are hard at first, but you'll get the hang of it. I'll give you a bit more time to practice, then I'll end class." Danni said in one long breath. OOC: Sorry to have left you guys, there was a rather large emergency at my house and I had to leave without warning. |
Natalie nodded to the Professor. She cringed again at the caterpillar but decided she should get on with it if she wished to pass Transfiguration. She breathed deeply then concentrated hard, pointing her wand at the caterpillar. She thought hard, her wand pointed at the caterpillar, she was jerking her wand slightly, urging it to change into a pencil. After a few moments, the caterpillar began to change shape and transformed into a pencil. Natalie smiled and sighed with releif, she was glad the caterpillar had been replaced with a pencil. She really hated creepy crawlies. She beamed as she picked up the pencil, holding it between her index finger and thumb. She looked up at Professor Pride, "I've done it Professor!" she shreiked, happily. |
Rachel finished transfiguring her match into a needle. She was proud of herself for getting it right on the first try. "Is there anything else I can transfigure, or is that all for today?" |
Kay raised her wand with confindence. She had spent much of her free time last term practicing her Transfiguration and was confident that she could manage it this time. She was going to turn one of her most difficult subjects into one of her best. Focusing her concentration, she said, "Slinario." Her match shimmered in the light, then turned into a pointed needle. She smiled and waited for the homework, rather pleased with herself. |
"Alright everyone, wands down." Danni said loudly, "Your homework for this lesson is to go two doors down to the Transfiguration Study and Experimentation room and practice this spell. Do the spell sucessfully 4 times and gie me a report of your progress, what happened, and what you think you could improve on. Class is dismissed." |
Cora smiled and put her wand carefully into her bag, before packing up her notes and quill. "Thank you Professor! I really enjoyed the lesson." Waving goobye, Cora wandered out, not sure what to do now. |
Suzy was confused she came back to calss because she couldnt find the transfiguration study and experimentation room. "professor where is this room?" |
Rachel proudly packed up her books, paper, and quills. She walked out of class, intent on going to practice. |
Brooke stuffed her wand back into her bag and stood up. She gave an odd look at the hufflepuff who had just come back in. It's like two doors down! How could you miss it?! she thought to herself. She shook her head then turning to the professor said, "Good bye professor. See you soon." and slung her bag over her shoulder as she walked on her way out of the room. |
Bexx tried to quietly enter the room. She realized she was amazingly late. Shuffling was hard to do in the stillettos she had not had time to take off since she arrived, so she did her best to muffle the click-clack with her barely-put-on robes. She clicked her way over to the professer, a pretty strawberry blonde-ish woman who couldn't have been very old. She smoothed her robes a little and ran a nervous hand through her beachy-blonde waves. "Um, sorry, I missed, the...everything," Bexx started. "I just got here today from France and I was wondering what I could do for make-up stuff." She noticed her hand in her hair and pulled it out quickly. |
That lesson totally rocks! Reign thought to herself.."Bye professor!" and she left the room happily satisfied. |
Danni smiled, "Have a good day." With a nod Danni replied to the french grl, "The homework is on the board, you may ask one of the other students to help you if you wish." OOC: I understand there was a bit of trouble with the 'Transfiguration Study and Experimentaion Room' It has been fixed so, get to that homework! ;) |
Myra quickly muttered "slinario" under her breath and was pleassed to see that her match turned into a sharp silver needle. she bade the proffessor good bye and left the class. |
