Jenni smiled, "Thanks. You didn't have to. I'm sure Patrick would probably be better at this than me." She shrugged slightly not knowing why. "Do you think we will beat Gryffindor today?" |
Pauline smiled at her. OH no was she a bad partner she needed someone good at potions this was her worst subject. She smiled unsurely. "No it's fine you asked me first, I have to be fair," she replied. "I hope so," she added about the game. |
Partners? Hayden couldn't help but roll his eyes. He saw the apologetic on Pauline's face and shrugged. He hadn't planned to work with her anyways, he need someone who wouldn't be as distracting. Instead he looked for someone who was less distracting, maybe someone new. |
Jenni smiled. It was a good job she was with someone older. Someone that had more magic up their sleeve. She was good at Potions, but had a small problem of setting fire to things. "This should be fun." |
"Once you find a partner, let's get those cauldrons full of water and boiling. We need them nice and hot to make magical fireworks" Adam said, smirking and wondering what the classes reaction would be. |

Ryan turned to the other Gryffindor, "Umm, yeah, okay sure..." Ryan said as he smiled. At the mention of fireworks, Ryan ran to the cauldron and started to let the water simmer and boil. |
Jeremiah inwardly groaned. Partnerless, and they were making fireworks. Those pointless muggle attractions that could easily kill someone. And there were magical ones too? This was a recipe for disaster. He could sense it. So many different ways to ruin his hair or soil his robes. |
Aurora looked at Kennedy, "Magickal fireworks? With this group? you have got to be kidding me. I'll let you start the fire for the cauldron. I'll satnd ready with my wand. I fear we may need it!" And Aurora took her wand out. |
Pauline nodded and took out her wand. As Jenni lit the fire she filled the cauldron up with water. "Now we need to wait for a boil and then the Proffesor will tell us what to do next," she replied as the water started to simmer. |

"Yes, good work there Aurora - one can never be too prepared for what may happen on the spur of the moment. Safety first!" After doing a quick walk around the class to determine that everyone's cauldrons were bubbling away, Adam returned to the front of the class. "Right, first ingredient we are going to add is dried flakes of Salamander skin. Now make sure you get a nice big handful in there, and stir them into your cauldron til they dissolve" |
Kennedy grinned at Aurora as she lit the cauldron. When the water was boiling, Kennedy asked Aurora, "You want to add Salamander skin flakes? Almost sounds like a breakfast cereal - except a gross disgusting one..." Kennedy made a gagging face and then winked at Aurora. |
Jenni headed towards the front and picked up the salamander skin. She knew how much to put in and when. Water had a critical dissolving point. So if you add slowly you get more in. |
"Eeww! Not that's just nasty! Ok I will add the salamander cereal but have your wand ready. Remeber all the catastrophe in the other classes right??" Aurora took a heaping hand ful of salamander cereal and threw it in the pot. She couldnt help but giggle at the thought of salamander cereal! I like slalamander cereal. It's good with chocolate milk! |
Jenni watched the two other girls gagging and wincing at the fire lizard skin. She laughed. Slowly she added hers to the water. She was about to put the last lot in when she noticed the fire had gone out. She put her hand up "Erm Professor can I have some help please?" |

"You'll need to re-light that" he said to her and her partner. He could have done it for them of course, but he was all for getting the students to be self sufficient. |

Aurora was oblivious to what was going on around her. She watch the cauldron bubble and started singing. "Double double toil and trouble, Professor burn and cauldron bubble." Then she realized why she said that... ." Holy smoke, your robes are on fire Professor!!! " |
Jenni laughed at what Aurora was singing. "Thats a good song. i think I have heard it somewhere before." |
Kennedy saw Professor Dresden's robes ablaze and drew out her wand. She was about to cast 'Aguamenti' when Dresden ran toward the Muggle fire extinguisher and put out the fire. Kennedy sat with her mouth gaping as the events unfolded. She turned to Aurora and said, "Never an uneventful lesson!" |

"AHHHH" he yelled, tearing off the offending robes (OOC: he's wearing jeans and a sweatshirt underneath FYI) and throwing them on the floor. At that moment Kennedy stepped forward and put out the flames. Adam liked to think that he was normally pretty laid back, but today... today he felt his anger rise. Those were really nice robes that had been destroyed, by accident or not, by Jenni. "What do you have to say for yourself?" he asked her. ooc: sorry it took me so long to reply - and now i have to edit. and my post was so pretty too! |
Rachel looked up from over her cauldron and over at the professor. She was startled seeing his robes on fire. "Professor, are you okay?" she asked, she immediately stop working on the potion. |
