ooc- Yeah Professor Virohsa tapped her fingers on the table silently. The plants shown on the blackboard kept changing their colors to match its environment. |
Caitlin raised her hand. "Well, I'm not entirely sure... I studied this years ago, so it's been a while... but from what I can recall, it's a Kees Nelis Tulip." |
Erin raised her hand, unsure. "Are they Parrot Tulips?" she guessed, unsure. |
Professor Virohsa shook her head. "No, but it was a good guess. That was an Antoinette tulip. There are other flowers with similar propertise. Can anyone recognize this next flower?", she asked the class. "This flower changes from yellow to white", she explained. |
Erin raised her hand again. "Is it a daffodil?" she asked, unsure again. |
"Very good! 4 pts for Gryffindor!", she exclaimed. "Does anyone know what type of daffodil it is?", she asked the class. |
Mandi walked in and said "Good morning Professor, How are you today?" and then took a seat near the window. |
Professor Virohsa frowned at the student arriving late. "5 pts will be taken from Slytherin for arriving late". |
Erin wasn't sure about the type of daffodil, so she glanced around, hoping that at least another Gryffindor could answer it. She glanced over at a Slytherin girl who'd walked in late, wondering how the professor would react. |
"Is it a Spellbinder Daffodil?" Caitlin asked. |
Erin decided to try and guess what type of daffodil it was, even though she wasn't sure at all. Raising her hand again, Erin said "Maybe the Trumpet Daffodil?" she suggested, cocking her head sideways. |
Professor Virohsa shook her head. "No, its name its the Avalon", she explained. "How about the following? It turns black when you take it inside your house", she added. |
Mandi raised her hand, " I'm not sure of the technical name of the plant but I have heard it referred to as an Elephant Ear." |
"Is it a Hosta?" Caitlin asked, raising her hand. |
Professor Virohsa nodded. "Very good! It may be referred as the elephant's ear. Its name is Colocasia, also known as Black Magic". "4 pts will be awarded to Slytherin" "The last plant we will talk about before choosing one and working with it, is the following. Does anyone know its name?", she asked. |
Erin raised her hand. "Is it an orchid?" she asked. |
Professor Virohsa shook her head. "No, not an orchid", she explained. |
"Hmmm," Erin said, looking around, waiting for someone else to answer. She was curious about what the plant was. |
Mandi raised her hand and asked, "Is it a Chinese Bellflower?" |
"Is it a lily?" Caitlin asked. |
Serilda jotted some notes down; she looked quickly through her textbook to see if she could find the identity of the flower. She had seen it before. |
Allie jotted down quick notes while she listened to the class. She thought hard about what was going on. |
Meghan raised her hand and said, "Is it a lily?" |
Jenna raised her hand. "I believe it's a breed of lily, professor." |
Erin agreed that the flowers looked like lilies. They also kind of reminded her of the azaleas that grew in her yard in the spring, mostly because that was the flower she was most familiar with. |
