Athena smiled, then grimaced. "I know, the lands around my house are pretty full of them. You see, they like the grassy areas that the horses graze in. BUt, its a lot of fun clearing them out. Sometimes, the horses even join in!" she said with a laugh. Then, she scooped up another gnome, swung him around, then threw him into the forest. "That's been my farthest one so far!" she said, laughing.

Heshasa giggled and hurried off to find more gnomes. Finding a couple hiding in a bush she grabbed both by the ankle ans wung them towards the forest.

They're good, they are getting pretty strong and are starting to get some flight feathers. In a week or so they should start hopping out of the nest a bit, and a week after that they should start learning to fly. Why dont go spend some time with them so they can get use to you?

"Well, I won a lot of horse compitons and.... Star's a 3 year old. My mom trained her. Actully, I took horse riding lessons for 6 years." Mel smiled, hoping she could. It'd been long since she first rode. Approvamatly 6 months.

Hermia looked for more gnomes but didn't see any. There has to be more here! She thought looking around.

Heshasa sat down once she could no longer see any gnomes. Smiling and sweating she sat down on the grass with a apple and began to it eat quickly.

Athena scanned the area around her. Seeing no more gnomes, she turned to Heshasa. "Well, I'm going inside, I have to take care of Caramel and Silmaril!" she said with a smile. "I'll talk to you later, okay?" she said, as she began walking to the Hospital.

Coming in, she immediately walked over to Silmaril's pen. "Hey girl!" she called, when she wasn't far from the fence. Silmaril, hearing her voice, lifted her head and trotted over, her limp slowing her down slightly. Smiling, Athena stroked the Unicorn's face. "How's my girl?" she asked, as the mare nickered. Then, looking around, Athena noticed her yard and stable were very dirty. Biting her lip, Athena walked over to get a wheelbarrow and pitchfork. Letting herself into the pen, she smiled as Silmaril immediately came over and rubbed her head on Athena. "C'mon, let me work!" she said, laughing. She began the long process of mucking out the yard and stall.

Yurio entered the magical creature hospital and looked around. He saw a whole asortment of animals and let his jaw drop. He looked around and saw a grand owl with large black feathers and green eyes that reminded him of Alanna's eyes alittle. Its plummage was dark gray and Yurio fell in love with it almost instantly. He looked around its cage and saw a little peice of paper on it which read: Name: Shade This large owl was found on the outskirts of the foribbiden forest with a fractured wing. He's all healed now but he doesnt seem to want to be released back into the wild so we have him up for adoption. Yurio looked into the owl's large green eyes. "Hey, Shade" he said. The owl hooted with delight and it made Yurio smile. He looked around for Professor Dansie and saw her. He walked over to her "Can I adopt Shade? That own over there?" he asked pointing towards Shade.

Heshasa went back into the hospital. Spotting Professor Dainsie she hurried over to her. "Professor, could I posibbly take the threstral for another walk around outside?"

Yes it's been a week or so. Monitor her for me and see how she goes, how she reacts to the light, how she walks, and how she reacts to other people or animals that you take her near. Remember it all and tell me after you finish.

Yurio took the cage and food and looked around at the other animals. He went over to shade and took him out of his cage and onto his shoulder. He left the hospital and took him too the owlery to see if he would like it there.

Angel walked into the Creature Hospital and looked around. She was debating over what most likely needed cleaned and which animals needed attention. After wandering around the hospital for awhile she spotted the large raven that she had made friends with the last time she had been here, which she admits was a long time ago. Angel walked up to the bird and smiled. "How ya been boy? I'm sorry that I haven't been spending time with you... the school has been a bit crazy lately." She proceeded to open the door on his cage. The large raven jumped out and hoped on top of his cage. Angel gave him a quick pet and checked his food and water, which were filled to the top. "Looks like you've hit the special button with someone else..." She hummed to the bird and added a wink. "But it looks like your cage could used cleaning." Angel started to hum a tune she was making up in her head as she went along.

Heshasa nodded and hurried off to find the black bridel she had used before. Smiling she hurried towards the threstral's stall at the back of the hospital. She slowed as she approached teh stall not wanting to spook her. She carefully opened the gate and slipped inside. The threstral took a step backwards. Making a soft clicking sound Heshasa approached her slowly. The threstral came forward a bit, she seemed to remember her. Heshasa carefully slipped the bridel on, the lead line already attached. Coaxing her forward Heshasa lead her towards a place wear blankets hung. Not wanting anyone who couldn't see her to bump into her and spook her Heshasa threw the blanket over the threstral and lead her outside.

The threstral pulled back a bit at the bright sunlight. Heshasa pulled a clipboard out of her bag and allowed the threstral to sniff it. Making it float infront of her Heshasa made a pen stand poised for writing, with her telepathy. She wrote,"Pulls back at sunlight (may be because of the brightness today)"

Heshasa led her around a few times as she tossed her head and stretched her reptilian wings. After a few rounds Heshasa led her towards the winged horses pen. Pulling her up towards the other horses, Liberty trotted up at the sight of Heshasa and the others follwed. The threstral pulled back tossing her head slightly. Heshasa wrote on the hovering clipboard to write,"Fine around one horse but nervous around large groups of horses." Nodding for the pen to stop she continued along the fence as the horses followed and the threstal cast nervous glances back.

Heshasa lead her near the smaller animals like owls and knealzls and she seemed fine. She wrote"Fine near small animals." Heshasa lead her near the other students outside taking care of other animals. The threstral seemed catious but allowed Heshasa to lead her closer to them without fuss."Will go near other students without much fuss."

Heshasa lead her back to a more open area to study her walking. Leading her into a normal paced walk Heshasa saw no problems. Leading her into a trot Heshasa still saw nothing and smilied, the threstral seemed to be ejoying herself. Leading her into a canter Heshasa's smile dropped to concentration as she watched her progress. She had a small limp in her right front leg. Heshasa quickly got her back to a walk and began to write."Walking:Normal
Trotting:Normal
Canter:Small limp in front right leg"

Heshasa lead her around at a walk a few more times then lead her back towards the hospital. Leading her back into the hospital she grabbed a brush as she went. She returned to the back of the hospital and brush her off getting the dirt and dust off. Cooling her down a bit Heshasa pulled off the blanket and bridel and herded her into the stall. Smiling Heshas said a soft,"Goodbye," and hurried off to give her paper to Professor Dainsie.

Heshasa hurried up to the professor,"Here are my reults Professor," said Heshasa panting slightly. She handed her a paper containing the results of her studying...

"If you need anything else I'll get right on it," said Heshasa a smile on her face.

That was excellent, thankyou! We may have to start lunging her to strengthen up that leg, and we'll have to help her get use to being in groups again... but we can atleast start some exercises. We might give her some physio too to help it along.

Right now she could do with a good grooming though, and I need to check on the pregnant winged horse.

Athena paused in her work to wipe away a bead of sweat. She smiled as she surveyed her surroundings and sighed, seeing that it was all finished. Silmaril, who had stayed out of her way, now came over and gave Athena a nudge. Smiling, Athena stroked the unicorn's neck. She watched as other students went around the hospital and did various other chores.

Heaving a sigh, she placed her pitchfork in the wheelbarrow and took the whole thing out of the pen. She leaned the pitchfork against the gate, and went to dump the wheelbarrow. After she was finished, she put it back and walked quickly bck over to the pen. She noticed immediately that the pitchfork wasn't where she placed it. It was now on the ground, a few feet away from where it was originallly. She glanced around, to see if anyone was close enough to have moved it. Not seeing anyone, she looked at the unicorn. Silmaril's eyes danced with mischeif. Laughing, Athena came over to the gate. "So, you want to play?" she asked, scanning their surroundings.

Suddenly, she got an idea and quickly raced to the supply area. There, she found what she was looking for. She brought it over and tossed it into the pen, then let herself in. The item rolled around the ring, and Athena quickly ran over to put a foot on the ball to stop it. Silmaril eyed the new object, lowering her head to sniff it. Athena smiled and kicked the ball, so that it rolled over to a far corner of the ring. Silmaril startled then chased it, putting out her hoof to stop it, as Athena had done with her foot.

After sniffing the ball again, Silmaril turned around as if uninterested. Athena frowned, discouraged that the mare didn't want to play. Suddenly, Silmaril kicked it with her back feet, causing it to roll over to Athena. Laughing, Athena began to play with the unicorn. They kicked the ball back and forth, trying to keep it within the ring.

They played for quite some time, until Athena, quite tired by that point, stopped, panting for breath. "That's enough for one day!" she said, laughing as the unicorn bobbed her head as if in agreement. Athena was still laughing as she brought the ball back and put it in its original position. Then, she got the unicorn's feed and hay, bringing it over and tossing it in. Then, she relaxed for a bit, having enjoyed their game.

Davina walked into the hospital.She looked around for the baby unicorn she was taking care of..she hadnt seen him for a while.When she found him he was no longer gold he was looking silverish going on to white.She went over and stroked him."Look at you.My how u've grown"

Heshasa nodded and hurried off to find grooming supplies. Heshasa returned to the back of the hospital with the bucket of grooming supplies in hand.

Heshasa walked over to the threstral who backed away slightly at the sight of the new objects. Smiling Heshasa set them down a ways away and continued forward. She slipped the bridel off her arm and slippied it onto the threstral. She tossed her great head as Heshasa lead her forward. Heshasa tied her up on each side so she could not take off and took out the brush she had used earlier. Brushing all the dust and dirt from her stall off of her, Heshasa watched as each muscule twitched. She could see over muscule and every bone and her reptilian wings stretched to great lengths. Smiling Heshasa took out a hair brush. Allowing her to sniff it Heshasa commenced to brush the tangles out of her long black mane and tail.

Her you could not tell where her white eyes were looking but they seemed wide with anxiousness. Heshasa took a soft wet rag and began to wipe her off...

Once the water was neraly as black as her hair Heshasa assumed she was clean. Throwing the rag into the bucket of water Heshasa then grabbed a hoof pick. The threstral eyed it catiously as Heshasa allowed her to sniff it. Picking up her front left hoove Heshasa began to clean out the much stuck inside. Heshasa continued to pick up hoof after hoof each which seemed to large for her body. Heshasa reached the front right hoof which she had purposly saved for last. Frowning slightly as a bea dof sweat dripped down her face. Heshasa moved gingerly towards the hoof not wanting to hurt her leg. The threstral whined unconfortably as Heshasa picked up her leg. "I'm sorry girl but we gotta get this hoof clean." The threstral snorted with indignation btu none the less let her clean the hoof. She kept her skeletal head turned and watched the whole time as if to make sure Heshasa did not hurt her.

Once she was done Heshasa set the hoof down gingerly and the threstral gave it an experimental stomp. "Don't do that, you may hurt yourself more girl." The threstral shook her head as Heshasa unhooked her and lead her back towards her stall. "This place is a mess!" Heshasa sighed and tied her up near the gate so she could watch as Heshasa cleaned out the stall.

Grabbing a nearby wheel barrow and rake Heshasa hurried back. Raking up the old bedding she raked it into the wheel barrow. Hurrying off to get new bedding and get rid of the old Heshasa returned panting slightly. Dumping the new bedding on the floor of the stall and evening it out Heshasa smiled up at the threstral who was watching her with intrest.

Heshasa returned the wheel barrow and rake to their appropriate spots and replenished the water in her bucket. As Heshasa went to grab the leadline she hit the side of the wall and ripped her shirt. A thin trickle of blood leaked down ehr already filthy shirt. Sighing and ignoring it for now Heshasa lead the threstral back into her stall. Heshasa took off the bridel and patted her neck. The threstral began to lick her shirt where the cut was."No no no," said Heshasa pushing her head away,"that's not food." Smiling Heshasa hurried off back towards the front of the hospital. Spotting Professor Dainsie near the pregnant horses stall Heshasa walked over careful not to spook the horse.

Heshasa's jeans were grass stained and her t-shirt was now stained with dirt and blood. The tear in her shirt was now soaked with blood and was rapidly growing. Her usually bright silver hair looked blonde and she had smudges of dirt on her face. She spoke quieter than usual as she was not sure if the horse would spook easily.

"Professor the threstral is groomed and her stall is clean, would you like me to feed her?"

Athena waved as she saw Heshasa walk by, then stood up and stretched. Silmaril was content and would probably doze for the next couple of hours. Smiling, Athena walked along the rows of cages, checking to make sure each creature had enough water and food, and that their cages weren't dirty.

Finally, she came to one row and saw that some of these cages despritaly needed to be cleaned. She quickly ran back to the supply rooms, bringing cleaning tools along with a supply of new food and fresh water. She began on the closest cage, in which a large Great Horned Owl resided. She eyed the card and saw it was a Male. Smiling, she opened the cage carefully and held out her arm for the owl to hop onto. He eyed her then, opened his beak and took a nip at her arm. "Ouch!" Athena yelped, withdrawing her arm quickly and rubbing the spot. She then opened the door again and tapped his beak once with her finger. "Noe of that!" she said, gently taking a hold of him and bringing him out of the cage.

He squaked at her as she put him on the top and tied his leg to the top of the cage, so that he couldn't get away. "Stop it!" she scolded, putting her hands on her hips. "I'm trying to take care of you!" she said, holding back a smile as she scolded the bird. She took a small handful of the bird food and placed it in a bowl near the owl, so that there was something to keep him busy. Then she got to work.

About a half hour later, Athena stood back and admired her work. The cage gleamed after its cleaning and the food and water had been replenished. The Owl eyed its cage and hooted softly. "There now! Isn't that better?" she asked, picking him up gently and placing him inside. He hooted, then tried once again to nip her. This time Athena was ready, and she moved her arm quickly out of the way. She laughed as he glared at her, then he went and began eating.

Shaking her head, Athena moved down the row of cages, working on others that needed either cleaning or more food or water.

"Oh, that's great!" Diana replied excitedly. She went over to spend some time with Chimi and her owlets. She began feeding them some of Chimi's owl treats, with her owl's permission of course. The owlets were shy at accepting the treats at first, but with their mother's nudging, they enjoyed gobbling them up within seconds. As they did so, Diana turned her attention to Professor Dainsie once more, with an expression that was once full of happiness and excitement a minute ago was now an expression marked with solemnity.

"Professor, there has been some concern that I have been thinking about quite recently. What happens to these owlets once they've learned to fly? Do they go and blend themselves into nature, or do they, uhm, go through some sort of training for owl post?"

Well they are your owls, you can choose what happens to them. You can keep them, give them up for adoption, sell them, donate them to the post office...

If you keep them though, their mother will train them in the art of delivering mail, you don't need to worry about that. They are extremely smart and intuitive.

Athena smiled as she studied the row of cages she had just finished. She wandered up the row again, making sure every creature had enough food and water. When she came across the male Great Horned Owl she had done first, her smile widened. "How are you doing?" she asked, leaning in to look at the owl. He squaked and flapped his wings, then turned so that hi back was to her. She laughed. "I didn't expect anything more!" she said, shaking her head as she went to put the remainder of the food and water away. Then, she carefull placed the cleaning supplies back into their proper places, so that no one wouldd get confused. Finished, she walked over to Professor Dainsie. She waited till after she was done with a student then came up to her. "Hey Professor!" she said with a smile. "Is there anything that I caould help out with?" she asked, scanning their surrounding area while still paying attention to Professor Dainsie.

Pauline walked out to Scoop's stall "hello boy" she said going inot his stall. holding out a carrot she put a halter on him and tok him out "i think you need to go for a ride you have not benn riden in a while" she said "thats my fault" she added. she satrted to clean him and when she was done she taked him up. she got on and started him at a walk since he was not riden for at least two weeks.
