Quidditch Match #1 Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin
 

you can see the glow of the Pitch from the castle as you walk out of the front steps with your friends. Your pace quickens as you begin to hear the echos of those students who have arrived there before you and have taken their seats. The sounds and the smells of the stands draw you into a run as the anticipation of the first match of the term gets closer. At the base of the entrance to the Pitch, you stand in awe at the size of the walls. You strain to see the top but your neck hurts so you gather your friends and you race into the stadium. The noise from the outside was nothing compared to the roar you hear upon entering the inside. Official Patrolling Wizards are flying around the stadium making sure everyone keeps their banners and signs down and out of the path of the flyers. Huge boards on opposite ends of the Pitch scratch out advertisments and messages as if being written by a giant invisible hand. "Come on" you yell with enthusiasm and you wind your way up higher....higher....higher, until you find the spot marked on your ticket. You finally reach your row and locate your seats. You hastily sit and wrap your blanket around you and your friends. As you look out and down onto the Pitch below you notice how green the grass is and how high the golden rings are at each end. Then you see him, and the crowd begins to quiet....he came all the way from Asia, fresh from Officiating last year's Quidditch World Cup, it's Mostafa Hassan.

"Ladies and Gentleman, Students, Staff, Headmistress and invited guests......welcome."

He flies out to the center of the Pitch and takes turns addressing each side as he goes over the rules, afterwards he blows his whistle and calls out the two teams for the first match of the term as each team flies out and takes their position, the crowd roars.

"I give you the team from Ravenclaw and the team from Slytherin......"

the teams meet in the center of the Pitch surrounding the chasers and the two Keepers head to their respective goals. Mostafa heads to the ground and opens up the trunk laying there. He releases the Golden Snitch and grabs ahold of the red leather ball known as the Quaffle.

"The Match will begin in three..........two.........one"

Mostafa throws up the Quaffle into the air and the Match has begun.....

after a fierce battle for the Quaffle, one of the Ravenclaw chasers finally wins out so they get the first question......
