Hogwarts RPG Name: Wilber O. Winterbottom Hufflepuff Graduated | Hufflepuff Table For those who belong in Hufflepuff House, in the middle of the Great Hall is where your table awaits. Gold banners containing an embroidered black badger float above the polished table in honour of the loyal Helga Hufflepuff. Already placed on the tables are silver plates with accompanying cutlery and goblets. All that is missing right now are the mountains of food and pitchers containing your favourite beverages.
Though your stomach might be growling as you take a seat on one of the long benches next to the table, it is important to not get hangry -- gnawing your arm away or jabbing your fork repeatedly on the surface of the table will do no good whatsoever. Give everyone some time to get settled in and wait for Headmaster Winterbottom to deliver his speech. Keep yourself preoccupied by catching up with your fellow housemates or those who are visiting from the other tables until it is time to sink your teeth into the hearty and delicious meal prepared by the house-elves. |

| ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ Claimed by Bits ❤️ ~ Queen of Typos ❄ Magical Mosh Pit ❄ Idris was already seated at the Hufflepuff table, wearing his yellow robes like the good honorary Badger that he was. Naturally, he was seated next to Paul, and he was swaying from side to side so that he bumped into the boyfriend’s shoulder with each alternate sway. Paully was used to his antics by now, of course. “I miss Nessy,’’ Id remarked, turning his fluffy haired self in the other boy’s direction. “I wish he could experience our final Start of Term feast.” Because seventh year! What a busy one it will be with NEWTs and everything else that was in store, whatever they may be! Levi had already taken up a spot at his House table as well. He grinned upon seeing Idris there. Sometimes, he legitimately forgot that the seventh year was actually a Lion. Speaking of forgetting about actual Houses… Diallo might as well be a Hufflepuff as well. “You know, Dee… you ought to get a yellow robe like Idris has. I can lend you one of mine.” Laughing quietly, he nudged the bestie. “Anyway, want to help me bake another batch of chai cookies sometime soon?” |

| ♥s her SS family | Wifey is MINE | Naughty Niffler | ❄ Bookish & Cat-Approved ❄ | Soodley ♥ Time for another year at Hogwarts. Aurora was more than ready, and planned to make the most of her last term the way that she tried to make the most out of everything in life.
It was no surprise at all to spot Idris at the table, seeing as he was an honorary Hufflepuff. He was even wearing yellow! She grinned as she made her way over to sit near him and Paul. ”Hey! You two ready for Seventh Year?” She nodded when she heard Idris say that he missed Nessy. ”I know. I wish I could bring Oreo. But I gave him some treats and his favourite toy, so at least he will be happy.” That’s what she did every time, and it worked perfectly.
Aurora turned her attention to Levi and Diallo. ”Hey, guys. Did you have a good summer?” Hopefully they both did. And as far as yellow robes… she was fully in support of that idea.
Getting comfortable, she waited for the other Hufflepuffs to arrive. She had been really happy spending time with Nyle on the train talking about plants and sharing notes as they had planned. She was sure that he would arrive soon.
There was so much catching up to do with everyone now that they were back at school. |

| ❄ Chasing Waterfalls & Wonder ❄ | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Ayden hoped that Juno wasn't too upset about her satchel. He of course wasn't a complete duffer and knew that they couldn't do magic outside of Hogwarts, but his intention had been for Malkin to fix it. Of course sometimes money could be an issue. A trusted adult could easily fix it too with magic, except she had seemed super embarrassed about the whole ordeal that didn't want to tell too many people. Glancing over towards the Gryffindor table, he hoped to catch her gaze in reassurance that everything was going to be okay. His gaze didn't linger too long, as he wanted to observe the sorting and also be present among his housemates. "Cookies? Who has cookies?" Speaking of presence, Ayden obviously wasn't paying attention to the rest of the conversation or he'd have known that noone did. At the moment. But also, he was hungry, so he was going to blame his attention span (or lack thereof), on his hunger. Another day. Another year. While Bee was homesick for the states, she was somewhat getting used to the doom and gloom of Scotland / Ireland. Sure it was half her heritage, but that didn't mean she had to like the grayness. Who really did enjoy all the gray? She took a seat by Aurora, one of the few Hufflepuffs she'd managed a conversation or two with last year in between adjusting to a new school and OWL exams. "There's absolutely no way you are leaving me this year. Can't you fail a couple classes so you can stay and graduate with me instead?" She stuck her lower lip out in a pout. It was ridiculous request, cause they both knew that Aurora was one of the brightest around. If she was truly being honest, it would actually be easier for her to graduate ahead a year, instead of Aurora being held back. Except not really, because while she was smart, she wasn't that smart to skip ahead years. Also it would mean having to decide what she wanted to do ... stay in Ireland with her family, or maybe an intercontinental move back stateside with her childhood friends whom she still exchanged letters on the regular with.

Ariadne had spent the train ride sitting with her sister Tiffany, eating food, and treats and talking about everything from quidditch to astro signs and of course chatting with passing friends. It was unbeliavable that come next summer they'd be adults, big enough to get jobs and things. It was pretty scary. Entering the great hall Ariadne quickly made her way over to the Badger table, waving hellos to Ayden, Levi, Diallo, Paul and Idris taking a seat near Aurora and Bailey because she needed girlfriends on this feast night. "Hey Aurora, Hey Bee, heard any new gossip on the train? Have we got new professors this year?"

| astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Nyle approached the Hufflepuff table with a performative sort of ease, but it softened the moment he caught sight of Aurora already surrounded ― bright as ever ― mid-conversation. Something in his expression flickered before he smoothed it down.
It really was just as well. They'd had the train and he obviously wasn't the only plant in the Hogwarts garden drawn to her shine. Which ― no, not the time nor the place.
The lanky blonde hovered just at the edge of the Hufflepuff tabled before he slipped into an open space nearby, offering the small cluster a polite nod and what he hoped passed for a confident smile. "Aurora. Bailey. Ariadne," he greeted, voice warm, if a touch quieter than the surrounding chatter. "Good to see you all again."
At the mention of gossip and professors, his gaze lifted briefly toward the staff dais. "It looks like we've a few changes," he offered, gesturing lightly with one hand. Two were not surprising after what he'd heard from Iris after the house meetings last term but still... peculiar not to see Professor Cole. Maybe the man's absence, by no fault of his own, would make it easier for Nyle to keep to his promise to stop skipping lessons ― the sixth year was being given a clean slate, of sorts. "There's another ghost which should be… interesting. An older witch for Herbology, I think. And a new professor for Transfiguration."
His eyes narrowing just a fraction as he leaned forward a bit to look at the staff dais a hair more closely. Unless he was imagining things ― and it wouldn't be the first time ― did his uncle Professor Cox look like he'd already had quite enough of the term... and they haven’t even started yet? Had Peeves messed up something in his office, or the Ravenclaw common room, just moments before the feast had begun?
His attention shifted as Ayden's voice cut in, and blinked once, momentarily thrown by the abrupt change in topic.
"…No one," he said gently, though there was the faintest hint of amusement at the edges. "At least, not currently. I imagine that will be remedied shortly."
Nyle shifted on the bench, attempting to fold himself into something resembling comfort, but his legs seemed even more of a fraction too long for the space — angles awkward, knees protesting where they pressed up against the underside of the table. He adjusted once, then again, a quiet exhale slipping out as he half-wondered if it might been simpler to just stand for the entirety of the feast. It was during all his juggling of limbs and positions that he managed a mildly uncertain glance at Idris — and, more specifically, the unmistakably yellow robes.
"…is that—er—wise?" he asked, voice low but earnest, leaning in just slightly. His gaze flicked between Idris and Paul and Levi and Diallo, then back again, brows knitting faintly.
"I mean, I understand the sentiment," he added quickly, because of course he did. Especially after last term where House Pride and School Unity were so emphasized, it eased the knots in his stomach about interhouse mingling at start-of-term and end-of-term feasts, but this was a new concept for him to stomach. "But at a formal event… wearing another House's colors…where it is some people's first introductions to their new houses and Hogwarts..." A small pause, his mouth tilting as he tried to articulate it without sounding overly rigid or... bossy. He wasn't a prefect ― he wasn't much of anything, save for being an apparent stick in the mud. "It's a bit like mislabeling a plant tray. It might look right at first glance, but for someone who is still learning — or doesn't know better — it could be… confusing. First years, transfers…" His shoulders lifted slightly in a half-shrug.
A faint, sheepish huff of breath followed, like he was aware he might be overthinking it and being too rigid and overly concerned with something so small. He...sort of couldn't help it. He was the bloke who had been too breezy and flippant warnings and the like and then nearly destroyed the entire Hufflepuff common room and forced a professor to relive the worst day of her living existence.
"N-Not that I think you'll be uprooted and replanted at the Gryffindor table against your will or anything," he added, stumbling over his tongue and trying to pick it up off the table top. "Just — well.... There's usually a reason things are… a certain way..."
And then — wisely, perhaps — he shut up.

| *sappysapper* MAJNOO, YO! Once the sorting was done, there was an easy confidence in the way Lorna crossed the hall, gaze flicking across the tables - curious, quick, taking in faces she didn’t know yet and probably would soon enough.
By the time she reached the Hufflepuff table, it was already alive with movement - she slipped into an open spot easily, offering a light, “Hi,” to the people nearest her, her smile settling into something warm and present. “I’m Lorna,” she added, glancing between them, letting her attention move, face to face, voice to voice - taking in the rhythm of the table before trying to match it. Her gaze drifted a little further down the table - absent at first, just following movement -
And then it caught.
Oh. There he was.
Already mid-conversation, angled toward someone else, saying something she couldn’t quite hear over the noise - but familiar enough all the same. The same careful posture, the same way he seemed to fold himself slightly into the space around him.
For a second, her expression shifted - surprise, quick and bright. Then it softened into something quieter. Amused. A little knowing.
Of course he was here. Of course.
Universe, apparently, had a sense of humor.
She didn’t interrupt. Just let her gaze linger for a fraction longer before it slipped away again, like she’d tuck that away for later. Because she would.Eventually.
For now, she leaned back slightly against the bench, attention returning to the people around her, the noise, the easy chaos of it all. “Any immediate survival tips I should know?” she asked lightly, humor threading through her voice as she glanced between the others at the table. “Or do we all just figure it out as we go?”

Paul was with Idris the whole time on the carriage ride to Hogwarts. The seventeen-year-old liked to blend in with the crowd. "It looks nice on you Idris, but I don't think the Professors will approve." He told them before they walked into the Great Hall. But it seemed like Idris wanted at some of the Professor's attention.
Once they sat down, Paul smiled at Rory, "Hey." The attention then went to Nesquik, "I'm sure Nesquik and Oreo are happy with the other Kneazles. You think they'll be okay without Lady Fab around for once?" Since Hermione had graduated, there were no Laramores around the school now. And they were talking about the staff changes. "I hope they won't be too strict." Especially with the seniors, they've been through a lot.
Zen was here! Of course, she now had a boyfriend. She planned to sit with her brother though, who would either be at Gryffindor or Hufflepuff table. She had hoped he would with the Gryffindors, so she could have the best of both worlds sitting with her boyfriend and brother! But it was okay either way, she told Diego she'll catch up with them later once she caught sight of Idris and Paul.
"There you are!" Zen said to her new favorite older mates. "Hi Rory, Ariadne, Paul and... Bailey?" Zen hoped she got her name right before she squeezed next to Idris. No way they were leaving her behind again. "Idris, how long are you going to borrow my robes this time? You're so tall, I hope the change in the length isn't permanent." Of course, she had her yellow robes on too, but she noticed a missing pair when she was getting changed earlier. Nyle managed to talk about the importance. "That's right! You could get in big trouble, big brother!" Of course, she loved seeing them match for once, but having parents as Professors added pressure to them following the rules.
Aside from that warning, Zen didn't want things to feel all doom and gloom. "But I'm sooo happy we match." Giving Idris a fresh squeeze. Then turning to Nyle, "How are you Nyle? You're trying out for Gobstones again, this year?" Zen felt like she could be interested in doing more than watching this year.
Diallo was sitting at Hufflepuff again, but he knew he stood out for sure after the growth spurt during the summer. "You know, it's almost like standing in a field of daffodils." So much yellow in the crowd. "I'm good, thanks." He really loved his green robes. "But I can bake cookies with you later... you think the elves will let us do it alone this time?" One of the younger students asked about cookies. "Chai cookies, you ever had some?"

| ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ Claimed by Bits ❤️ ~ Queen of Typos ❄ Magical Mosh Pit ❄ Iddy sighed somewhat dramatically at Paul but wasn’t annoyed or exasperated. As a matter of fact, Paul was one of the few persons who could get through to him when he was being illogical. “But, Paully!” “I wore yours to the feast before.” It was the reason Jan had given him the nickname ‘Little Yellow Lion Hood’. Sure, he was wearing Zen’s right now, magically modified to fit his height, but he had plans to give it right back to his beloved sister. After the feast, that is… “How about this? I won’t wear a yellow robe to the end-of-term feast. I promise.” Could Paully meet him halfway on this? “RORY!” Was it unusual, this highly enthusiastic greeting from Id to his friend? Not at all! He beamed a thousand watts as she took a place at the Table. “Yes, I am! How did we become seventh years already?” It certainly was not for the first - and it wasn’t going to be the last - that the question crossed his mind. “You get me.” “There ought to be a dining hall for cats.” Perhaps his next mission could be to convince professor Menon to set up one. “I bet Nessy already found Oreo… or vice versa.” Those two always seemed to sniff each other out, such was their excellent friendship. He now tilted his head at Paul. “I think Nessy is going to miss Lady Fab terribly. Maybe I ought to get some photos taken of him and send them to Hermy. Do you think Lady Fab would like that? “Hi, Ayden! Rory hasn’t got cookies but she does have a cat named Oreo!” Yes, he was completely misunderstanding Ayden’s question because… this was Idris Ace Grunt. Cats were always on his mind. “Her Oreo is better than oreo cookies!” And HI, Bee and Ariadne! The seventh year happily continued bumping his shoulder against Paul, eyes scanning the place for his sister. Surely she’d be here soon? Unless she was making out with Diego. His gaze shifted towards his own House table, seeking out Vi. His fellow Gryffindor might not say much on that particular topic, but Id saw the signs of his internal suffering. Since Diego was dating his sister, his feelings on the matter always ended up being muddled. How did one navigate a sensitive topic that involved a sibling’s and a friend’s respective happiness?
It turned out that Zen was actually not making out with Diego - not that Id would tell her off too much, not when he liked making out with Paul. And now he had two shoulders to bump - Paul and Zen! He was a very happy Lion sitting here between his sweet little sister and the grumpy-not-so-grumpy boyfriend! “Fear not, Zenny! I will return your robes tomorrow! I already told Paully that I won’t wear yellow robes to the Feast again.” Idris couldn’t help it: he had to tease her now. “Does that mean you expect to be short all your life?” He then bumped his head lightly against Zen’s, a return gesture for the squeeze. “Me too! Oh, we should have more adventures together this term. We can start with a date with the kneazles from the Sanctuary?”
Now, he had completely zoned out during the talk of new professors but Id’s ears pricked up - much like a cat’s and kneazle’s - as Nyle voiced his concerns. Of course he felt crestfallen immediately following them but in true Idris fashion, he picked himself up a very short time later, especially with the vivid image of him being replanted like a mandrake. The thought made him chuckle heartily. “You make good points, Nyle! Please don’t feel terrible or have any other negative feelings about what you just said.” The sheepish look, the slight stuttering… Id could see and hear the hesitation; honesty he appreciated. “Mislabelled trays can always be labelled correctly eventually, I could argue.” Little quotation marks were made with the middle and index fingers of both his hands for the last word. It wasn’t the first time he wore Hufflepuff robes to a feast; he had never been told off from a professor about it either. To lighten the things, he added, “I’d like to make it be known that I think I’d be properly compared to broccoli, because of my hair.” Did he need to point out his spectacular hair which was being worn in the form of an afro this evening?
A new Hufflepuff! {well, one of them!} Idris waved both hands at her {Lorna}. “Welcome to Hogwarts!” As for survival tips, yes. He had one! “Be sure to visit Professor Menon’s kneazles out at the Sanctuary occasionally! They’re really friendly and playful and are great for stress relief!” The said professor was very welcome for the free promotion Idris was giving his sanctuary. “Hey, Rory,’’ Levi said, after listening to her and Idris chat about their cats. He admired that they adored felines that much; it was similar to his love for the family dog - Duke - as well as their owl - Curdy. “Mine wasn’t so good. The family dog fell sick so we had to take him to see a vet… multiple times. But he’s okay now!” Levi wasn’t keen on getting into all the details; he just wanted to be honest about his summer but at the same time not think about it. Did that make sense? “And you’re like the grass snake among the daffodils,’’ the third year remarked, his lips twitching. “But green looks good on you, anyway, so no need to switch to being a daffodil.” One of the reasons Dee was his bestie was because he was such a great sport with indulging him. “Yay! I can’t promise I won’t be throwing flour at you this time either.” “I hope so. I know the elves mean well so I really can’t fault them for wanting to help though.”
Levi nearly laughed out loud as Idris commented about cats and cookies. That Gryffindor’s hyperness certainly didn’t let him see clearly all the time. “I plan on baking some later in the week. I can always give you a few, Ayden.” Ariadne wanted to get right down to the gossip. This wasn’t something Levi could relate to since he disliked gossip. But he did give her a bright smile in greeting.
He was, however, interested in the new professors whom he had noticed the minute he got there, a topic which Nyle expounded on. Whereas Idris took the sixth year’s words into stride, Levi promptly shut down. The words screamed DISAPPROVAL and FAILURE in his mind, because of the suggestion he made to Dee, even if it were a joke. Just when he thought he was doing better and emerging from the confines of his sister’s shadow, there was something happening that reminded him that he was actually not. In a very subtle movement, he shifted closer to Diallo. He wasn’t looking for Dee to defend or to protect him {even though the Slytherin usually was protective of him}; it was just that his friend’s general presence always brought him comfort and kept him from spiraling too far. And so Levi sat there, staring down at the table before him, fingernails of one hand biting into his palm where he had clenched his fist unconsciously. |

| astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Nyle's fingers stilled briefly in his pocket at Idris' response, his expression flickering somewhere between relief at not having caused offense and a quiet hitch of thought he couldn't quite smooth over.
"…exactly?" he said, a touch hesitant, head tilting just slightly. "The tray gets relabeled because it was mislabeled in the first place... no matter how many eyes may have seen it before and not noticed. The ― um ― mistake, oversight, gets corrected."
His mouth pressed into a small, apologetic line almost immediately after, like he could hear how that might sound if taken the wrong way. He shifted a fraction in his seat, shoulders drawing in as if to take up less of the space the thought had occupied.
A faint crease settled between his brows, as the conversation moved on around him and the source of lent robes revealed. He didn't say anything further — he'd already said more than he'd meant to — but thoughts lingered all the same. Maybe it was harmless, in the grand scheme of things. But it still felt… off.
His gaze dipped, then flicked briefly toward the staff dais — lingering on the Potions Master who looked about as pleased to be there as a mandrake replanted in poor soil. Yeah, Nyle would be considerably less fortunate testing the limits or trading robes with Iris ― which she had tried to convince him of once when they were first years.
His attention was drawn away from all the melancholy embarrassment by broccoli hair.
"…suppose that means you have your Halloween costume all set," he offered, the hints of humor painting his tone and curling the corners of his lips into a smile.
The tension he'd been holding loosened a fraction as Zen's warmth cut through the lingering self-inflicted edge of the earlier conversation.
"I was planning to try out again," he nodded. His fingers stilled briefly in his pocket before he let his hand fall back to his side, posture easing as he focused on something far more familiar. "I actually," he continued, a small self-conscious smile tugging at the corner of his mouth, "offered to help someone from Ravenclaw — Cat — get the hang of it. Just casually. See if she ends up liking it enough to give it a go as well. If you were thinking about it too, I wouldn't mind helping you too. It's a lot easier to pick up than it might look."
He'd even branched out enough to give the junior league a try this past summer. Something that went a lot better than he had been expecting ― second place ― but not something he could see making a career out of. At least, not with the ambitions he was still trying to earn back. It was probably more than a little pompous to consider professional Gobstones player as a backup career, so he willed the thought to stay where it was.
Once glance at Levi, however, was enough to make Nyle's shoulders draw in again, the earlier conversation replaying far louder than it had any right to... tying his stomach in knots and making him wonder if he could stomach anything once the food appeared.
He shouldn't have said anything.
But he should say something now.
Rising off the bench to offer his housemate something, Nyle caught untamed blonde hair in his periphery and suddenly every other thought fell completely out of his head.
"― oh ―"
There was something deeply disorienting about seeing her here under the enchanted ceiling instead of open sky, framed by candlelight instead of sun. His gaze followed her instinctively, quiet awe settling in where anxiety and nausea had been just seconds before. She moved the same way she had at the music festival, confident and self-assured in a way that he was certain he was hallucinating when her robes reflected Badger pride.
Gryffindor, he thought, made the most sense.
But then again — he wasn't the Sorting Hat... and he'd been wrong about himself more than once already.
He dragged a hand briefly through his hair, buying himself half a second to think, though the faint color already rising to his face suggested he wasn't quite succeeding. And, rather unhelpfully, he still didn't know her name. Totally missed her introducing herself just now as well. He'd managed an entire conversation with her before, even told his aunt about the encounter after she'd been properly concerned it had taken him nearly two hours to return with food — and all he'd had to offer by way of identification was by the token he had given in gratitude for helping pick up rubbish: Sweetpea.
And thus he remained rooted in place, all length and limb, like a tree that had grown straight up without ever quite learning what to do with its branches.

| Please excuse her dramatic exit lol ♥s her SS family | Wifey is MINE | Naughty Niffler | ❄ Bookish & Cat-Approved ❄ | Soodley ♥ It was always great to see Idris and Paul! ”I really don’t know, but it’s happened too fast.” It was hard to believe that this was her last year at school. ”I think you’re both right. I’m sure they’re all having a great time together too.” It made her happy.
Oh no. Aurora was sad to hear that, but she was glad to know that Levi’s do was okay now. ”I’m glad that he’s okay now. Hopefully he stays that way.” It was very sad when anything happened to a pet. ”Hey Zen!” She BEAMED.
Though that faded as soon as Bee came over and begged her to stay. ”I’m sorry, Bee. But we can keep in touch.” Like how she did with Ary, Bry, and Emma. It was only a year!
There he was.
It didn’t matter that they had spent the train together, everything was always so much better whenever Nyle was there. ”Nyle! I was wondering when you were coming.” She needed to get a grip or she would give away certain things that she was planning to tell him. She was scared, but she felt like she needed to tell him. Sometimes she thought maybe he felt the same way, then she worried that she was getting her hopes up. But she still felt the need to tell him.
The talk turned to robes, and she had to admit that she hadn’t seen it that way. ”You’re right, Nyle. Thank you for pointing it out.” It really was best to try and not cause any confusion for the people new to Hogwarts.
Oh, a new person.
Aurora was about to introduce herself when she saw the way Nyle reacted. Of course, she thought, feeling her heart break. She was right in thinking she got her hopes up about that. Clearly he was romantically interested in the new girl. She felt so stupid, and also glad for all her experience in drama for the way she managed to keep her composure even when she was falling apart. ”Excuse me, I must go. I… have a headache.”
Getting up from the table, she made a quick departure to get away from Nyle and the new girl. She’d hold it together until she got to get dorm, then she would start crying.
She was so stupid for thinking she had a chance. |

| Swedishfish Girl! ❄ Page-Turning Seamstress ❄ Jess's Soul Sister! Sweetest Swede! Ariadne was looking at the ongoing sorting seeing where all the first year and cheering for the ones coming to her house when Nyle arrived. "It's good to see you too Nyle." Ariadne responded with a soft smile. "Oh another ghost? What will they teach? And two new witches will teach herbology and transfiguration. Interesting...It shall be a fun year. Will herbology still be your favourite class Nyle?" Maybe she would like transfiguration and herbology more if she liked their new professors for the classes but that remained to be seen.
When a new student Lorna slipped into a seat on the bench near her Ariadne turned her attention to the newcomer with an easy welcoming smile. "Welcome to Hufflepuff Lorna! I'm Ariadne." She introduced herself. "I think memorizing the map over the school where all the classes are is a good tip so you don't get lost on your first day of classes because the professors takes house points for lateness."
Ariadne shifted her atention to Zen who just arrived. "Hi Zen! How are you? Did you have a good summer?" She also shot welcoming smiles "Hi Idris, Paul and Diallo!", but didn't interrupt their onging conversation more. She wondered though silently why Idris wore the wrong robes and why Diallo and Idris didn't want to sit at their own house table. Seeing how Levi was biting down on his hand the seventh year girl leaned over the table slightly, and asked "Are you all right Levi?"
Before the headmaster had even made his speech or the sorting had even concluded Aurora got up from the table, complained about a headache and just abruptly left the great hall. "Aurora?" Ariadne called after her. "Wait, we can get you a headache potion from Professor Feirgrund." Surely, he'd have some instore plus if Aurora really had a headache then she needed to eat some food and drink something, not just leave.

| hope I AM NOT MISSING ANYONE! AAAAHHH *sappysapper* MAJNOO, YO! Lorna let it all come in pieces, the voices, the energy, the small overlaps of people speaking at once. It wasn’t overwhelming. Just… full. Like stepping into a current and letting it carry you a second before deciding how to move with it.
Her attention flicked first to the boy waving at her, Idris, and her smile came easy, bright and immediate. “Kneazles?” she repeated, a hint of delight slipping in. “Okay, that already sounds like something I’d get distracted by on purpose.”
A small tilt of her head, amused. “I’ll take that over getting lost, honestly.”
Then, before she could settle further, there was sudden movement. A girl stood, something about a headache, leaving the table in a quiet shift that didn’t quite match the rest of the noise. Lorna’s gaze followed her without thinking, concern flickering across her expression just as quickly as it came.
She hesitated for half a second. Like she might say something.
But she didn’t.
She didn’t know how, not yet. Didn’t know her, didn’t know if it would help, but her eyes lingered a moment longer before she let it go, a small crease of thought left behind.
Next time, maybe.
A voice beside her, Ariadne, pulled her attention back in, and Lorna turned easily, like she hadn’t drifted at all. “Oh hi,” she added, a little late but still warm, like she hadn’t missed it so much as circled back to it. “I’m Lorna, again, apparently.” she grinned. “And noted,” she continued, glancing between them now, “avoid being late, find kneazles, and maybe acquire a map before I accidentally end up in the wrong tower.”
And then,
A name.
It landed differently. Familiar in a room full of new.
Bailey.
Lorna blinked once, quick, like she was making sure she hadn’t imagined it, then leaned slightly, looking past someone’s shoulder, scanning, and there she was. Recognition sparked fast and bright. “No way,” she breathed, already lifting her hand in a quick, instinctive wave. “Bailey?”Her face lit up properly now, the kind of smile that didn’t need thinking about. “Oh my god, hi!” she laughed softly, half turning on the bench to face her more fully.

| ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ Claimed by Bits ❤️ ~ Queen of Typos ❄ Magical Mosh Pit ❄ Nope, Nyle need not worry. Id didn’t usually take things THAT seriously. “I see your point quite clearly! Well… I did make a promise to Paully a few moments ago that I’d quit wearing yellow robes to the feast.” He felt a little sad saying that. “In any case, there’s only one Feast left for me after this one.” Honestly, where did the time go? The Lion was left reflecting on this for a bit as Nyle also became engulfed in his own thoughts and observations. He was reeled in back to the conversation at the mention of broccoli being his Halloween costume. It couldn’t be helped: Idris burst into laughter. “An excellent idea,’’ he enthused, rubbing his hands together in glee as mental plotting ensued. If he could convince Paul to dress as a vegetable that complemented broccoli… maybe cauliflower? Nessy could be a carrot. “Kneazles!” the enthusiastic Gryffindor echoed. Hopefully Lorna would not be thrown by his hyperness. But was that some enthusiasm of her own that he detected? Could it be? Did she ADORE kneazles and kneazle-cats too? “Would you like me to introduce you to them sometime? They all know me very well!” Nope, he wasn’t boasting; just emphasising that Lorna would be in great hands around the little creatures.
As talk turned to Gobstones, Id threw a glance towards the staff table, at Dad E. Thankfully, the man never was annoyed with him being sport-averse. He fell silent, simply taking all the conversations around him, and thinking that he’d miss this sort of camaraderie about Hogwarts. So deep was his thoughts that he completely missed out on what transpired after. All the seventh year knew was that Rory complained about a headache before dashing off.
Huh?
Colour him confused because that was unlike his friend, running away like that. Not to mention he didn’t like the look on her face. “Excuse me,’’ he told those around him before standing. “I’ll be right back, Zenny, Paully!” And the Lion in Hufflepuff robes quickly trailed after Rory. Levi was vaguely aware that some sort of drama was happening around him but he didn’t have the mental energy to make sense of it all. He didn’t feel as though he even had any physical energy to consume dinner. In any case, the hunger that had been felt earlier had now dissipated. All he wanted to do was crawl into his bed and try to go to sleep. Which was why he completely missed out on Aridane’s words. Sincerest apologies, Ariadne <3 |
