SnitchSeeker Upgrade Announcement
 

The SnitchSeeker technical team will be upgrading the site at approximately 4pm GMT (11am EST) on Friday October 20th. It should take between two and three hours, though delays are possible.

While the site should remain online during this transition, it will be read-only (no new posts will be able to be made). So, don't worry about emailing or IMing us to let us know you can't post because we know. ;) For those who remember our last upgrade I want to assure you that any posts made before the forums are locked should transition. However, there is a slight possibility that posts made in the 12 hours before the forums are locked will be lost so, if you make any long or important posts (for example: a Fan Fic update) you may want to save the post on your computer for safe-keeping.

After the upgrade there may be some funky things going on (the sideblocks may not work at first, for instance). This is a normal part of the upgade and we hope to have all the kinks worked out quickly. If you think there's something that isn't working that should be, you can post in the 'Technical Bugs' thread in the Prefect's Office forum and we'll be sure to investigate.

We hope this transition will run smoothly and we thank you so much for your patience.

We would also like to send a big thank you to KevinG and Servaas who have worked so hard to bring this upgrade to us.

We hope to have it all done within less than an hour. 30 minutes is our goal. But we assume there will be some unforeseen surprises so be prepared for a 2-3 hour process.

Update: I guess I should list some of the upgrade improvements...

We are changing Galleries from 4images to Coppermine which will be a vast improvement! (A new announcement will be made once the change is complete that will include a detailed list of the improvements - which include custom member galleries + lots more.)

We are upgrading the Forums from vBulletin 3.0 to vBulletin 3.6 which allows for a lot more behind-the-scenes functions like voting, posting, editing, etc within the same page (without a new page-load) using AJAX. See a full list of the new features here

Things should run much smoother, be faster, and posting (images, art, fics or just forum posts) will be easier than ever before!
