We're Back! (for real this time)
 

The technical support team would like to apologize for the drama and downtime over the past 28 hours or so. SS is back online and we do not anticipate any more problems in the near future (for real this time!). We had some database issues which have now been fully repaired. After testing I am proud to say that some of our admins have experienced even quicker load times than they had before the crash so, hopefully things will run quite smoothly from now on.


We apologize for the inconvenience and our own crankiness & thank you for your patience.

For the meantime, you can get to any new PMs through the usercp. ^_^ They'll show up above the subscribed threads. And you can also send new PMs using the link in the usercp.

Thanks, Ali! Apparently I can send PMs out through the User CP (haven't tested it yet, though) but am still not able to open any of them. I clicked "List Messages" and it didn't work. Is anyone else experiencing this same thing?

Though I have no idea what those three messages say, at least this is a lot better than not being able to get on the site at all, and hopefully these problems will all be fixed soon.

lol I didn't even know it had gone offline! Was off greeting the new year (by the way, happy new year SSers!), but I came on today... and got a database error when I tried to access my PM inbox. Whoops? I still can't get to my PMs. Hope everything will be okie dokie!

Posting is weird and i can only access my pm box by using the way Christy suggested..

Those of you still experiencing technical difficulties... and those of you still navigating the site, the answer is UNTIL KRIS UPDATES THIS MESSAGE AGAIN, YOU STILL SHOULD NOT BE POSTING. Errors and site slowness are really your own fault because she made it known last night that she can't fix the site until we stop accessing it.

the thread seems to be working now, though I am still having some problems with my control panel and inbox (viewing pm:s)... I got to this email by the homepage, so I guess I can manage to read my pm:s anyway, I just thought "Why not ask when I'm writing you a pm anyway?" So, whenever I click the "Private messages" link I come to "Database error". Might be some problem there, just in case you could check it out.. Btw I just wanna tell you I'm very thankful for the job you mods do, keeping this site working ^_^ Love the SS!!

ps. I don't know if you've gotten this, I'm trying again to send it since I got to "Database Error" again when sending it. Probably since I should have come to the inbox, which is not working.. so I'm gonna try and send this again, and I will also copy it and post in the thread about the problem, hoping someone will see it in case you don't get this...
