In the meantime, is there anything us members can do to try to HELP maintain an optimized speed and such? I almost feel guilty about like...refreshing and going crazy with having multiple tabs open and stuff for possibly sucking up server....stuff (can you tell I have no idea how any of this works or what it means? )

Hey guys, apologies about the slowness in loading some threads. There's a temporary solution that YOU can do if you want to have a faster load (at the expense of flashy colours), whilst the technical staff continue working on the maintenance,
1. Scroll down to the bottom left, to the box that refers to the site style
2. Select SS lite - this is a basic layout which should load quicker, although it won't bypass the dreaded Peeves, I'm afraid.
Again, apologies! We're working on getting this fixed!

I know that you guys are working really hard to get SS back up and running to the way it was before. Don't worry. We're already used to an occasional PEEVES appearance
I guess for now, I'll continue what I've been done for my OWLs practicals and type it out first and then wait to post them. There was a suggestion to email Jess or Mary with our post but I need to see whether my links work fine and I can't do it if I send it to them. So I'll wait since the deadline is the 22nd.
