Just a reminder to any new and not-yet-placed members or any current Ministry of Magic employees wishing to retake the placement quiz: the time has almost arrived for our next placement! The site wide Ministry of Magic is about to open it's doors to NEW RPer's. Any member who has earned their 10 legitimate posts to get out of the Newbie Forum will be qualified to be placed. (Note: those who spam out of Platform 9 3/4 will have their quiz submissions deleted without notice and will be returned to the Newbie usergroup).

I have to say though, none of the jobs are bad. The department heads all worked really hard to create jobs for their departments. They are just RP jobs, so its what your character does, not what you do, so keeping that in mind, it should matter more about what your character wants than what you want
Tip: Give your character experience, and make them old enough that any experience you give them make sense. The younger a character is, the more entry level there job is likely to be. Also do research. Google and see what you can find out. For instance Aurors have to have completed three years training, so an 18 year old character wouldn't be an Auror (because there hasn't been a war recently, there is no getting hired Harry Potter style).

Thanks Tegz! Each Ministry forum has a filing cabinet with the employees from that department. Level 2 for example, there is a sticky thread called MLE: Employee Records.
There is also this general bio thread in the Ministry Mingling forum.
As for more info, aside from taking a peek on google (Try Harry wiki!) because we built the ministry to include as much canon information as possible. You can also PM the individual department heads if you want to find out more about their department and the kind of work they do
