The Office of Mrs. Becca Lee, Department Head As you walk through the brightly lit corridor, which is the not-so-typical lighting arrangement for the Department of Mysteries, there is a glass door which which leads into the office of the department head. The office that was formerly inhabited by Elijah Wright and Sophia Vivaldi, now has a new shiny name plate that is attached to the wall next to the door. It confirms the new department head's name. When you finally gain entry to Becca's office after knocking, you look around at the pale purple room. You see a lovely glass desk sat near the back wall of the office with a purple chair of the same shade as the wall behind it. To your left, there is a plastic, silver filing cabinet with purple drawers. There is a stack of purple and silvery grey files stacked up next to them. On top of the filing cabinet, there are a few pictures. One picture is of Brian on his own. Another is of Becca and Brian together, smiling at something unseen. A final picture was of Becca handing Brian a wrapped present with a happy face and him looking pleasantly shocked. On a small glass table just inside the door, there is a plate of random biscuits, a jug with some pumpkin juice and lastly, some tea. Feel free to eat and drink as you wish, they refill automatically when the content of each jug or the plate gets too low. A few random magazines are sat on Becca's desk in a neat pile for visitors to the office to read. Two white chairs sit in front of Becca's desk and a white sofa sits by the wall, inviting you to sit on it. Three pictures are on the wall in silver frames, the two pictures on the outside are of two single purple flowers and the middle picture is of two blue flowers together in a small heart shape. There is only one strict rule in this office: No Coffee, at all. No exceptions. No..not fully true. Brian is the only exception! *whistles* |
Alice knocked lightly on the door to the Department Head's office a few times, biting her lip slightly. She was nervous, obviously, though she was doing her best to appear calm on the outside. Alice must have straightened her and wiped the....non-existant dust off her robes about 5 times, trying to look her best. It couldn't hurt to make a good first impression... It never did. That's why she was here to welcome her to the division. That and because it was simply the kind thing to do. She only hoped that Rebbecca would be as bearable as all the other bosses she'd had in the past, though only time would tell. So, she continued to fidget, while waiting at the door for the new Department Head to answer her knocks. |

Sighing slightly, Kris walked up to Becca's office and saw the new fancy door. Ugh, gag-a-licious. It was much too girly for his taste, but whatever. If Addie wanted a door like that, there would have to be some compromise. Back to the situation at hand, Kris. He straightened his jacket, and then knocked on the door. What was this going to be about, hmm? |
"Kris" Becca looked over at him since the door was already open "Come in..." she smiled "How you feeling?" she asked a little nervously. Maybe the time for apologies had come. She smiled and then moved away from the door. She just wanted to make sure that they could work together without silly past experiences playing on their minds. |
Kris stepped inside of the office, having not payed a whole lot of attention that the door was open. Meh. It really wasn't his day today. Adjusting his glasses next, he looked up at her. "I'm not up to my normal standards," he said. "Rough week or so." |

"What would you like to talk about, ma'am?" |

"Just trying to be polite Becca," he said. "Or Mrs. Lee, since I think I'm the only one who doesn't call you that." Now she'd like to talk about what happened in the past. Well, it was the past, wasn't it? "Becca, believe me. I've forgiven you already. And I want you to know that my transfer from Level 2 had nothing to do with that. I thought I would give it a shot, considering my background already in the Department of Mysteries." |

Kris couldn't help but snort slightly at her remark about knowing her. Of course he knew her, he even went to her wedding after all. It was a good thing she understood his transfer because he didn't want her to think it was for some other reason. Dun dun dunnnnn. Now she was asking about his reaction. "I only reacted that way," he began. "For the simple reason is that I'm tired of being switched around in here. I've had 3 bosses in a month or so. I just don't like change when it happens so fast. And I'm having a bad day." |

Kris smiled more to himself than anything when Becca commented on her not leaving that quickly. That was a good thing, since he was sick of everyone saying 'Ohai' then deserting them all. Not just for his sake, but for the employees and other Division Heads. "Bad day," he repeated. "More of just, I woke up late, things are going wrong. I'm having a slight tiff with Karma, and I haven't seen my girlfriend in a while. So everything is kind of building on top of each other." Ugh, not fun. "Besides, I was hoping our new Department Head wasn't an idiot. I was just surprised to see you, that's all." |

"Karma's still trying to figure out what to do," he said. "Now that she's out of school, she hasn't been doing a whole lot. And then she told me she wanted to go back to Germany and I don't understand why. She hated it there." He couldn't help but laugh at her making fun of herself. That hadn't changed much, really. So that was a good thing. "She's not an idiot. Not that I know of, yet. And it was both - bad because you were a new head, good because I already know you." |

"Yeah I know," Kris sighed. "I'm just really protective of her sometimes." Kris couldn't help but laugh slightly at her giggle. Geez. She really wasn't an idiot, but he wasn't going to say that. Teasing her was the fun part about it. "Give you direction? Shouldn't you already know, Miss Department Head?" |

"And a shiny new desk," Kris said, observing it. "This is definitely different than mine in the Time Room." OOOH. Next point that he had wanted to talk about. "Some of my employees just don't show up..." he started. "I know I have Melina, and now Torquil. How many should I really have?" |

Alice entered the room as she was invited to do so, returning Becca's smile shyly. "Morning," she returned, brightening her tone a bit. "You must be Becca Lee. I'm Alice Sumner, Division Head of the Brain Room. I saw the notice on the bulletin board and thought I'd come to welcome you. So, welcome to the Department of Mysteries." she said warmly, the sides of her lips turning up to from a soft smile. She plonked down in one of the seats, crossing her ankles daintily. She was still a bit nervous, but it was less noticeable. Now, she at least knew Rebbecca was kind. The only thing she had left to be worried about was whether she would like her or not. Or she could simply relax... Nah. She couldn't. She was Alice. Alice spun around in the chair, looking over her shoulder to watch as another Division Head entered the room. Aha. Someone she knew. Well, she didn't exactly know him that well... but she knew his name! That had to count for something. "Hey, Kristopher." she greeted, her smile accompanied with a polite nod of the head in his direction. As the other two started speaking to one another, she wondered for a second if she was intruding on anything. It seemed they'd already meant...or known each other for a bit...? She tried not to eavesdrop on anything and kept quiet for a few moments. She glanced up at the two once more, patiently and contently, awaiting an opening in the conversation or for someone to address her. |

"Morning Alice," he said. "How are you doing?" |
It was Lucein's first day at work, and to be honest, he had no idea what to do. But of course, he's not about to shout that fact to the whole world, was he? The ex-potions master knew he'd be able to grasp the flow of things before the day ended. It wasn't like it was the first time he asked himself what he was doing in Level Nine. A part of himself seemed to be left at Hogwarts Dungeons. Mentally shaking himself, he redirected himself to another thought. Someone from the Time Room said Mr. Atkins was in Mrs. Lee's Office so that's where he was headed. And he needed to speak with his Department Head, badly. Great, now let's get this over with. Lucien knocked thrice at the Department Head's door and waited. |
