Lana looked up from her feet that she was so intently gazing at. "Yes hi, my name is Lana Musaeus," as she held out her small hand to the secure, woman coming from behind the stack of papers piled on her desk, "and this is my first day here at the Ministry. I suppose that it sounds silly to say that I am unsure of where I should go next to begin my work. Thank you for being so kind." Lana gave a weak smile and began to feel a little more easy. |
Eve smiled, the women looked a little out of her depths which made her have little flash backs of what it was like when Eve first joined.HAVOC,it was.Total mayhem for Eve anyway. She smiled,"Hi Lana..Im Eve Walker"she said, taking her hand and shaking it firmly."Nice to meet you.."she said. She smiled and shook her head."No,its all ok..dont worry,I can show you."she said,"Just making sure..this is the right department, yes?"she asked, just to make sure. |
Lana smiled, "It's a pleasure to meet you," she shook Eve's hand, "Ministry of Magic Educational Inspection Committee?" She asked smiling at the polite woman who had offered her a friendly guided hand. Then she began to second guess herself, This is the right department isn't it? |
Eve nodded as she shook her hand back gentle."Oh,yeh..this is the place.."she said with a humerous smile."Just making sure .."she said as she started to walk away and looked around the room for a spare desk. There wernt many people working in the office at the moment,so there was quite a few desks empty, but she thought she might aswell put her next to Eve."You can have this one..if you like..next to me.."she said with a laugh. "Well, you could settle in,and then I could take you to Samantha..? Or have you already spoken to her?"she asked |
"Thank you very much, that would be nice," Lana said smiling. She set her bag on the top of the desk and turned back to Eve, "I have briefly spoken to Samantha, and am waiting until she is done with another employee before I talk to her further." She replied. |
Eve nodded and smiled,"Sure.."she said, grinning. She looked around the room,"Ok..while we wait, you wouldnt mind helping me sort through the paper work..?"she asked,"Theres stamps on the papers,so all you have to do it sort them into piles?"she said,"If you dont mind?"she asked |
Lana smiled, "of course not." She was so happy for something to do. She walked over to Eve's desk and stared down the towering pile of papers. Softly she began tapping her foot to the song she was playing in her head and began to sort papers. |
Eve was greatful for some help."Two heads are better than one right?"she asked, repeating her mothers motto. She looked at Lana, she was very young."So..what made you want to work here in Department of Education?"she asked |
Lana, excited for conversation, but not wanting to scare the poor woman away responded carefully, "Education has always been an interest of mine. I love watching the light bulbs go off in peoples eyes when they finally understand something." Lana smiled. "What about you?" She asked, placing a paper carefully on the top of the pile with the same stamp. |
Eve nodded at Lanas thoughts into what she loved about education,"I dont know, the fact that I can work with the best people in the ministry to make everything that happens in Education Schools fun and memorable..that does it for me.."she said, smiling."What choose education though.. I mean you could be a hit wizard or an Auror..?"she asked,"Not the physical action type?+ |
"No, actually to be an Auror would be the most amazing thing for me." Lana sighed. "I suppose I am just a little unsure of what I would have to do to get there. Education is I feel my calling, however in the future, I believe that being an Auror would complete me. How long have you been working here?" Lana asked. |
Eve listened to Lana and fair enough, she knew what she had her mind set on from what Eve could hear, even if Lana didnt.Eve smiled,"Fair point you've made there.."she said,"Well..I actually cant remember.."she said,"I think maybe a year, just under?"she asked. |
"Really for a year? Then you must know what goes on here pretty well." Lana looked around, "I just feel as though, I should be doing something, do you know what I mean?" Lana asked as she put yet another paper on top of a pile that was becoming rather towerous. |
Samantha walked into the office of the Inspection Committee and looked around. Eve and Lana had just been talking, and the other employees were all at their desks quietly working. "I'm sorry to interrupt," she said apologetically. "I just wanted to see how everyone is doing, and also to let you all know that this is an election year, and the Minister is running for re-election. But that's not really the main reason I'm here. You see, the Minister is not running unopposed this year. In fact, the person running against him is none other than his Undersecretary, Reagan Taylor, who some of you may know already." Samantha smiled at this point. "I myself am supporting Reagan and have signed on to be her speech writer. Now, if any of you are interested in helping in her campaign, please come and let me know at any time. Otherwise, you are free to support the Minister or any other candidate you choose, but I really hope you all give some serious thought to giving your support to Reagan. After all, sometimes change can be a good thing. And I will be around to answer any questions you might have." |
Lana walked over to Samantha, "If there is anything that I can help with her campaign, I would be more than happy to, just let me know," she said smiling. |
"Thanks so much, I'm so glad you support Reagan," Samantha told Lana. "There is a sign up sheet right here on this floor which you can sign and enlist your support, and her headquarters are going to be just outside Diagon Alley. But above all, if you can spread the word about Reagan running and remember to vote for her when the election time comes, that's such an important thing. Reagan really needs your support and we can certainly use any help you might like to offer with her campaign," she said. |
"All right, I will do that," Lana said smiling. She turned back and walked back to the desk and started sorting papers, "so what do you guys do for fun around here when you are not working on a project?" Lana asked Eve. |
Eve watched as Sam entered the office. With a smile she looked up at Sam."Hello.."she said, quite freely. That was one thing she loved about having Sam as her head of Department, you see,she was very down to earth, and she respected every single employee, and treated them all she same,so Eve felt very comfortable talking to her about anything She listened to what Sam said and she nodded,"Oh well, yes,of corse, anything I can do..just let me know.."Eve said, with a smile and a nodd of her head Lana spoke and with a turn of Eves head she replied."Oh we go down to the Bar there is open for us.."she said, with a small grin."Thats pretty fun actually.."she said. |
Joe Jon Montcenaggio comes in and starts getting his desk together again after a long keave of absence. |
Samantha popped in for just a second and left this notice for the employees. It was something that Eve had originally suggested, and she was responding: Quote:

J. J. Starr asks Samantha "What is on my plate now? I need to do a lot of work" Joe Jon Montcenaggio told her. |
"Okay, I'll try and keep you busy with work, then," Samantha said. "For now, would you mind alphabetizing these student record reports for me?" She passed J.J. a stack of papers. "You can use magic to sort them if you like, but it's probably best if you check them through yourself and make sure everything is in order. Mistakes can sometimes happen, you know." |
"Acually, I like to do sorting by hand" JJ. Starr said to Samantha. Joe Jon Montcenaggio started on the A's.. |
Andy walked up to the door marked 'Magical Education Inspection Committee'. Her hands were slightly sweaty and her breathing erratic. Taking a deep breath, she counted to ten before opening the door and walking into the room. This was it, her first day on the job. Now if only she had any idea what she was supposed to do now... |
