The Elasticity Trial Course
|
Zephyr Amstern | Ravenclaw Though he still pondered the idea of a recreational Quidditch game variant utilizing the Elasticity Elixir, Zephyr was equally keen to test it in the context of an obstacle course. It was for that reason more than the extra credit possibility that he came - though extra credit wouldn't hurt either. He was in his OWL year, after all, and it was already stressful enough. Hopefully this would be a fun way to relieve some of that stress! "Hey Professor." He grinned at his Head of House as he entered, then quickly took in his surroundings. Potions there, obstacles there - and the first one looked really intriguing. He'd seen videos of people doing challenges like those, but without the elixir to help for obvious reasons. So he felt a small amount of temptation to try it that way as well...but also he really wanted to try the potion, so he wasn't that tempted. Seemed like it defeated the purpose of the whole trial. Zeph selected one of the phials from the display and took a drink. It tasted...well, it wasn't the worst thing in the world. He'd had worse. Now to wait for ten hippogriffs for it to set in... He eyed the course as he mumbled the count under his breath. |
"Mr. Amstern." Cox acknowledged the greeting with a small inclination of his head from where he stood near the entrance. His gaze followed briefly toward the first obstacle before turning his attention back to the Ravenclaw just as he finished ingesting the potion. "You may notice a slight delay between ingestion and full effect. Do not be alarmed if your joints begin feeling unusually loose or if your sense of personal dimensions becomes temporarily unreliable." His attention flicked briefly toward one of the enchanted wall frames further ahead, where the silhouette had already shifted into a shape that looked deeply unreasonable for human anatomy. Perfect for a seeker like Mr. Amstern to warm-up with. "Whenever you're ready." |
Cat had been looking forward to this. She was confident in her brew. It had worked just fine on the plastic hand, and she was excited to see if there would be any differences when she used it on herself. She wasn’t even nervous. At all. And her stride could almost be described as ‘bouncy’ as she entered the room. “Hi, Professor Cox!” She greeted with a small wave as she passed him. She went right for the display rack and took a minute to find the phial labeled with her name. It was… not delicious. She wondered if there was any potion that tasted good. Though, she supposed that it would be unfair to assume that anything containing flobberworm mucus and mooncalf tendon shavings would be anything but kind of gross. She slipped the empty phial into her pocket for safekeeping and began counting to ten hippogriffs out loud. She wouldn't rush this. |
