I'll always have a soft spot for OttP. That's when the stakes really amp up, and when we get the extended dream team of the trio + Ginny, Luna and Neville. |
i liked all the books except for the goblet of fire! but my favorite was the order of phoenix because i seen the movie first and it was good but when i finally read the book i was in love with that one because of the elves and Hermione's club for them as well!! |
Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban I just love it, everything is perfect in this book :pleased: |
Half blood prince I remember being a quick read for me because I couldn't put it down... I always wanted to know more about Snape and HBP gave me that in spades! It was the first book that my parents ever scalded me for reading to fast. As a child that overtly didn't like to read this confused me greatly. |
POA will always be my favorite because the marauders were introduced for the first time :D |
Love! I LOVE LOVE LOVE them all! I am enjoying reading why people picked different books though and was interested to see Prisoner of Azkaban was in the lead. I just read the illustrated version and loved it! |
Lumus )) I love all the Harry Potter books and also the new books that are coming out about Harry Potter's son James Potter |
Favourite book is either the 4th or the 6th. I love the 6th because it's near the end of the series but you always know it won't end by the end of the book. You finally get let in on all the secrets and can feel the series swelling to a crescendo. |
How To Choose A Book? Can the eye exist without the head, or the foot without the leg? Can volume One exist without the rest? Can there be a beginning, without an end? What exactly does that look like? No, I can't pick one of the books above the others. I believe a certain improvement in writing skills is evident along the way, so there are perhaps 'specifics' within the whole one might select, saying the latter demonstrates a more mature presentation in one way or another. But this is very different from 'a favorite book.' What is our basis? Story development, or character development, or drawing of scenery, or event inclusion, or any other individual facet one might use to set one thing above? No, no. It both exists and survives as a whole for me, the books maturing right along with their contents. |
I would have to say that my favorite Harry Potter books are the Half-Blood Prince and the Deathly Hallows. I think I like them the most because they go into so much dark detail about Voldemort/Tom Riddle and Dumbledore. I really enjoy character building and background and learning all these gritty details about these characters was so fascinating to me. |
Although I do love all the books, if I had to choose one I'd say I have developed a an appreciation for Deathly Hallows. The way JK wraps everything together is so perfect. The final moments of each character are so vital to their identity development. I especially love the revelations of characters we were trained to dislike or look passed that took a positive turn (relatively speaking) and left little grudge room for Harry and readers. On another note, we observe Harry grappling with the choice between horcruxes and hallows. I believe that everything he has experienced and learned has brought him to this juncture, where even the slightest deviation could profoundly shape the wizard he becomes. |
I love goblet of fire the most. Its so much better than the film version |
I'm a huge fan of Goblet of fire because I like the Quidditch world cup beginning and the Tri Wizard tournament is a great plot device. I really like Half Blood prince with all the detective work that Harry and Dumbledore do. However any book that has scenes or chapter set outside of Hogwarts are great fun to read such as the visits to St Mungos in the Order of the Phoenix. I like reading about the wider magical world. |
I absolutely like all of them... |
Azkaban and Phoenix. Because they have Sirius as a prominent character, and I always wanted a godfather so I can relate to Harry! |
I love all of them, but my favorite has to be Chamber of Secrets because it gives us a bit of Voldemort's backstory for the first time, along with developing Harry's character some more. |
all are my favourite |
Favorite Harry Potter Book (and movie) My personal favorite is Prisoner of Azkaban, and I noticed a lot of others also agreeing with me. It's just a very intriguing concept with Lupin and the Marauders are also introduced, even if the movie suddenly scared me for no reason and I got afraid of it. I love it again and I enjoyed reading all the books, especially that one. |
Half Blood Prince for the backstory of Voldemort |
This is such a tough one. I cant say "All of them", can I? Well then I suppose its a tie between Goblet of Fire and Deathly Hallows. |
To preface, I didn't read much as a kid, so I'm only reading the books now, but I'm nearly finished Half Blood Prince, and it's been my favourite books thus far, and it's always been my favourite movie! To keep this post a reasonable length, in summary, I really like how much we learn about Tom Riddle and Snape in it! :] |
It's been so long and I'm sure it's subject to change if/when I reread them all, but I have to give it to the Sorcerer's Stone, simply because it's what got me into Harry Potter in the first place, cliche as it is! |
I can't decide between Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire. Prisoner of Azkaban started developing the events of the night the Potters were murdered and giving us insight on their generation at Hogwarts as well as introduced some of the most interesting concepts, such as time travel, magical creatures and of course werewolves. And of course, Lupin, the best DADA teacher in Harry's generation and who deserved better. Goblet of Fire was of course the first major turning point, the return of Voldemort, the true first escape from Azkaban not, in fact being Sirius but Barty Crouch Jr, introduced us to other magic schools and gave us the first real insight into House Elves. Half Blood Prince is at the top tier as well for the Voldemort and Gaunt backstories. |
I love all of them. I really can't decide. |
That moment in the half blood prince when you discover snake's secret has got to be my favorite out of everything!! |
Prisoner of Azkaban always hit me different for some reason. I generally love the plot and everything and it has a certain nostalgic feel to it whenever I read it, plus I love the fact that I accidentally spilt some chocolate milk on it and itnow has a kinda old paper feel and look to it. |
The first book, because it presents me with The Wizarding World! |
While the movie was okay... I love the Goblet of Fire mainly cause of the tournament tasks but it showed more in debt about the tasks and what they had to do. Plus I love how much Harry matured into a fine wizard. |
Goblet of Fire all the way. I just can't stop watching it |
My favorite book is hard to pick but I'd say Prisoner of Azkaban followed by Half-Blood Prince and Order of The Phoenix |
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone!!the beginning of the story and the first book I read |
