Madam Malkin's the premiere location for quality robes. Although predominately known for providing Hogwarts students with uniforms, Malkin's also provides other robes to the Wizarding World for all functions -- formal and informal. Once in the doors you'll notice all of the racks around the shop, as well as heavy wooden furniture throughout for resting while looking for robes.
The space may look cluttered, but upon further inspection you'll notice that there is an order and flow making it easier to find the items you seek. In the back of the shop you will find dressing rooms to try on your latest find. Along the wall you will find Hogwarts apparel and accessories. Along the opposite wall are dress robes. In the middle sits a heavy wooden counter top, a glass bowl filled with candies sits beside a pad of paper where the shopkeeper will write up your total.
Can't find what you are looking for? Ask the shopkeeper and they'll be more than happy to help you find exactly what you're looking for. Still can't find what you’re looking for? Talk to the shopkeeper and they may be able to figure out how to do a customized order for you. Don't forget your socks.

Except she really didn't want the responsibility of anyone but herself.
Dropping him off at Floreans to pick up their new books, Bee headed in the direction of Malkins thinking she could do with some new robes. Particularly was interested in more sporty robes, as now that she had her footing on this side of the pond she was tempted to go for her house team.
She glanced at a boy around her age, inspecting a monotonous robe. "A bit dark, for my taste, I think a darker brown would suit your eyes more." She said nonchalantly, hoping that neither he nor the shopkeeper minded her opinion. And if they did, well, too bad because she'd given it regardless.
Jae didn't look up right away ― he was still finishing up his inspection of the fabric, after all.
The robe shifted once more between his fingers, the fabric catching the light just enough to reveal what it was trying to hide: a faint, almost organic sheen, like overlapping leaves pressed into shadow.
Frondescence, if you knew what to look for.
Or maybe feathers...
Which, admittedly, would be ironic.
His gaze flicked sideways, finally, toward her and there was a brief pause (just long enough to register the comment in full, eyes included) before the corner of his mouth lifted into an easy smile bordering on amused.
"Mmhm," he hummed softly, turning the hanger a fraction as though genuinely reconsidering it under her suggestion. "You think so?"
The robe lowered a fraction, but he didn't put it back.
"I tend to make most things work," he went on lightly, one shoulder rising in a loose, unbothered shrug. "Noir, brun… doesn't matter too much. Buuuuuut... if you've got a vision, I'm open to being convinced."

It was perhaps foolish to impede on someone's personal fashion choices. She shifted uncomfortably, regretting her words and hoped he wouldn't take it the wrong way. It wasn't as as if she was the fashion police.
Fortunately though, there was incalescent light when his mouth lifted into a smile. Bee hadn't meant to be condescending or hurtful with her remarks and she was grateful that he hadn't taken it such. Why did she care about his approval though? Perhaps because just maybe this was going to be the year that she finally came out of her cocoon and made a couple friends beyond Aurora. She still talked to her friends via post back in the states, so why couldn't she make friends over in her new school?
"Definitely. When in doubt, always match the eyes. But," she paused considering, "both are neutrals, which is why they both work. However, there's a difference in fashion when it comes to mere making things work, and standing out. I trust, you seem old enough where making leading a positive first impression is where standing out can make the difference." It wasn't as blazing as wearing vivid colors, but the simplistic art of showing up well-coordinated was definitely bound to leave that positive tastes.

Jae’s gaze flicked from the robe to her, the faintest lift of a brow teasing, as if weighing her words rather than dismissing them ― and not the slightest hint of offense marred his easy composure and grin.
"Mmmm," he hummed, tilting the hanger just enough for the fabric to catch the light, letting the shimmer trace a slow arc before his attention drifted back to her. "So... you’re saying I don't stand out already?"
The corner of his mouth tugged into a curve that wasn't quite a smirk, but it was certainly an invitation to reconsider.
"Matching the eyes, though…" His head tipped to the side, hair sweeping across his brow as a soft breath of amusement escaped him. "Dangerous game. I'd have the entire room staring.”
His shoulders lifted in a small shrug, the motion almost languid.
"But," he continued, letting his fingers drift down the front of the robe in a slow intimate swipe before letting it fall back into place, "I've had my fill of dressing for other people and their first impressions… even if, technically, this is still for other people."
An audition that was for himself, but an audition where he was judged by others.
His gaze returned to her and a flicker of mischief lighting the amber in his eyes.
"I'm partial to jewel tones," he mused, the words curling around the air between them. "Emerald greens. Deep sapphire blues… colors with depth." His smirk deepened. "But, alas, dress code calls for black this go-around."
The hanger spun once between his fingers, the motion almost a dance itself. He tilted it slightly, imagining a deep maroon for his hair, gold accents glinting just so ― nothing on the call sheet suggested that was off-limits, after all.
"So," he added, "if you happen to find this perfect shade of brown you're imagining… I suppose I could be enticed to try it on ― for the color theory, of course."
He held her gaze a fraction longer, yet another unspoken invitation woven into the tilt of his head and the ghost of a grin.
