Staircase Chances are you’re going to hear a wide range of languages when you travel this stairwell. The Department of International Magical Cooperation and the Department of Magical Transportation is connected by the steep steps, and witches and wizards of many nationalities can be spotted talking back and forth, coming and going, sometimes with very little idea what the other’s saying. |
Droo. <3 Armen was a stressing a bit. He and the other Department Heads it seemed, had recieved a memo from Lord Borr regarding the 'Enhancement of the Ministry' via plants and the like. It was an odd request but one that Armen and his department couldn't dream of ignoring. So after reading the memo, the Department Head took to the stairs, in a confused state not really sure where he was going but he needed to talk to someone. But who? |
Gina was irritated and by the new memo and decided to see if Armen had received it as well. Walking the staircase she saw him coming toward her. "Armen." She said showing him the parchment. "Did you receive this... this... memo!" She whispered memo as if it was a dirty word... |
Quote:
"Oh Gina, It's good to see you, how have you been?" Armen had forgotten the memo in his suprise at running into someone on the staircase. So many people just rode the lifts these days but he found it easier and quicker sometimes to just use the stairs. Then she began to hiss with a parchment in hand....Borr's memo. "Oh you got that too? What are we supposed to do about it? We obviously have to do something to make Lord Borr happy." he said shrugging. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do. Shouldn't he have given it to Erica or Rafael in the tree-hugger departments. |
"I'd be better if our new fearless leader would let me do actual work, instead of figuring out what I can do to get fresh air circulating..." She shook her head re-reading the parchment, "A plant, for Merlin's sakes." |
Quote:
"Yeah I know right?" he said kind of monotone-like. He wasn't about to bass Borr out loud, he needed this spot in good graces, and besides being in the Cult AND a Department Head in the Ministry was a good gig. "But maybe we should try and come up with something," Armen began. "We don't want him docking pay or something outrageous for us or our levels." he nodded. "We can always help each other brainstorm so we don't have to do all the work on our own." |
"You are right Armen," she said nodding... "we need cake... or fudge for this..." She said but then said to the man. "What do you think we can do? Make a charm for a breeze to pass through?" |
Quote:
A breeze charm, that would surely get things moving. Ok he had to end those stupid pun that he said to himself so often, they were getting old. "Good idea Gina. Ooh and we could partner it with a new 'Open-door' policy, where all doors in the Ministry are to stay open, excluding doors that need to be locked for a reason or ones that lead to the outside." These were good plans. Did she say fudge...or cake?! "Umm actually I think I could go for a spot of dessert, Gina, what do you say?" he smiled at the woman. He knew he had liked her. |
"Sure... you want to come down to my office? I have some in a cupboard." She said smiling. |

He began to follow his collegue down the stairs to the door labeled: International Magical Cooperation Department. |

Madeline walked up the stars headed to her Department. It was her first day at the Ministry and she was so excited. Her job was Junior Dragon Restraint Officer. She could not wait to get settled in and start working. Her blond hair flowed out behind her as she made her way up the stairs. Her blue eyes sparkled with happiness as the light hit them. |
Jess/Alex. ^__^ It's a little lame..Dart isn't being active in my head. D: Where was the 'Le King' going? He wasn't sure himself. He just needed a walk, he needed to think. He's sister had been rather harsh to him yesterday. She had lectured him through their entire dinner that they had together. What to do? What to do? Dartanian couldn't really think of anything to make he's sister happy. Though to be honest he didn't really care what she thought, only reason why he was so nice to her in the first place was because she actually supported him. The Frenchie stopped midway at a step and took a seat, burrying he's head in he's knees trying to come up with a solution. |

Though what she didn't expect to find was someone sitting on one of the steps. It was morning. People were either already at their desks or on their way. Not sitting. So as she bustled down the steps, the last thing she expected was someone in her path .... Who she may have accidentally stumbled over . . . books and other papers flying up in the air, as she fell forward . . . |
O__O One moment the 'Le King' was deep in thought and then the next he was all interupted. Something had crashed into him, sending papers and books everywhere. What or more like Who in the name of Merlin was that? The Frenchie looked up. There was a rather beautiful women that seemed to have fallen beside him. She must have been the one to bump into him, with all these papers and books. Being the person Dart was, he just stared at her a while. How dare she just trip over him like that? Could she not see he was of importance and doing what she did was rude? Meh..silly Ministry people. "Watch where you're going." he said with a small eye roll. He would have reacted in a much ruder way, but since she was a girl and a fairly pretty one he left her with only those words and nothing worse. This woman did need to be more aware of where she was walking, but Dart couldn't help thinking that he's good looks were to blame. Maybe they had distracted her, they tended to do that a lot to people. |

"Well if you weren't sitting in the middle of the stairwell, then I wouldn't have tripped," Alex snapped at him. "Really. Your moping here is reminiscent of someone who just got fired. You didn't just get fired, did you? Because if you did, I doubt it'd be a great loss with your level of respectfulness." She rolled her eyes, and went to collecting her papers and books together into a stack. |
And who did this women think she was speaking to the 'Le King' like that eh? Dartanian was really not impressed with this women. He didn't get why she all of a sudden had the right to talk to him like that. The Frenchie rolled he's eyes at the stranger. He then stuck he's tongue out at her like he used to do as a little kid. "I em not moping ze floor." Dart had misinterpreted this womens accent and he was utterly confused as to why someone as 'emezing' at him would be cleaning around. "I zeenk zat's your job." he then eyed her mess of paper and books. Fired? What no? He wasn't fired...why would someone ever fire someone like him? He didn't understand this lady. "Me..fured? Never..me bozz zeenks I em lovely, lek mozt pupeel do." he said with he's strong accent. What he didn't realize was actually how many people dislikes him. Like he was going to help her. Dart chuckled as this lady cleaned up her mess. See she was the cleaner and not him. |
Ugh. SERIOUSLY?! Moping the floor? Or ze floor? And then he had the gallbladder to suggest that SHE was to mop? "You're mo-ping. As in ... glooming or sulking. Dejected." Alex said, rolling her eyes again. Wait? His boss thought he was LOVELY?!? The man before her who she barely knew may have been many things, but if first impressions told the truth, then he was FAR from lovely. "So you weren't fired. Fine. Then what? Girlfriend of two weeks broke up with you?" She mused, clearly finding something that likely. She for one was sure she wouldn't be able to stand to be with him for more than two days, let alone two weeks. "And last I checked, most people don't count as your mummy." For the record and all. |
Huh? ...Mo and Ping? What was that? Yep confused, Dart was. This lady was inventing her own words now, because clearly there was no such thing as Mo and Ping? Where had this crazy woman even gotten those words from? Maybe they were another language...or maybe she had just hit her head really hard when she had fallen. Ohhh..wait did she mean like sad? Now he sort of got it. "Why cent you zpeek Eengleesh, zen meybe I wood enderztend you?" He rolled he's eyes back at her. "End I em not zelking." He really didn't think he was and he certainly wasn't trying to be all upset. The 'Le king' was just in deep thought or at least had been. And now? Why was she playing the guessing game? Had he asked her to guess what he was thinking about? No! Pfffttt..woman, so weird sometimes. "Em..ectuelly I 'eve been wiz meh gurlfreend fur moor zen zat, end no why wood she brek up wiz me?" Dartanian raised he's brow at her. Was this lady blind maybe? Could she maybe not see how gorgeous he was? Geez, this one had an attitude. "Lazt time I checked cool pupeel lek me don't lizten nor telk to ztrenge pupeel lek you." he said thinking he was sounding all hip, but really sounding lame. |
HA! One point for Alexandria! She officially had confounded him with her Ravenclaw wit. And to think the words she chose weren't even that large. "I am speaking English. Would you like a dictionary or are you one of them illiterate types?" Considering he didn't even know what dejected or gloom meant. "And you sure looked like you were sulking to me. Why else would you have been sitting down. In the middle of the steps. Instead of heading to your office?" Suddenly something dawned on her. "Or ... no wait, please don't tell me you were hit with a memory charm and you forgot where you were going?" She feigned shock and dismay. Wait...... This guy?!? This RUDE MALE of the hominis species HAS a GIRLFRIEND of greater than two weeks?!? "Uh... maybe because of your attitude...." Alex said, slowly, drawing out the words, as if it were an obvious thing. And to think he had the NERVE to call her strange. REALLY. It was just because no other person had dared step up to him, for some reason she didn't know. "And yet you're still talking to me...." Alex said, amused. |
At the word illiterate, Dart couldn't help but chuckle. Him illiterate? She could only wish. He knew two languages..yet here she was telling him he couldn't read. He found it rather amusing. "I em fer froom being elliterete. Meybe you need to get your fectz ztreight." he said with another eye roll. He's eyes would soon pop out if he didn't stop rolling them at this woman. Oh..so now she was begining with questions eh? That was not acceptable. Why would he answer them anyways. It was none of her business what he was doing. That was between him and himself. He would have ignored her, but the last few words ticked him up. "Geez, women. I woz not heet by a memery cherm. I zeenk you were wiz de wey you ere beheving." he sighed and then stood up. He was going to leave, there was no point in talking to woman like this. Before he left though..he'd make sure this woman knew who was boss around here. "Ettitude? Wot eez your problem?" he eyed her raising he's brow. She was right. Why was he still talking to her? Ohh..yes he wanted to prove to her he was better. Which of course he thought he was, and it was for that reason that he realized it was actually pointless arguing. This girl was odd and surely she wouldn't even understand the meaning of awesomeness. She had probably never been awesome enough for that. |
Oh good. He wasn't illiterate. "Excellent. I'll know just what to buy you for your birthday then." Considering he could read and all. That was assuming she even remembered him on his birthday, but the way their initial encounter had gone, she doubted she would want to buy him even coal. Ugh. Did he seriously just suggest that she was forgetful? Was it because no woman had dared speak to him as she had? To burst his rather inflated head? Why was she so nosy anyway? She never cared before about people's business or why they were sulking. She should just leave. Be the bigger person. The more mature one. But then ... his last comment ... stung. "My problem?!?" She stood up straighter, her books and things held tightly in her arms now. "You want to know what the problem is?! I trip over you because you were just sitting in the middle of the stairwell. Do you offer to help me? NO! You just blame me, as if I was the one not paying attention. As is YOU are the center of everything and people need to go AROUND you." She jabbed her pointer finger at his chest. "But I'll tell you what, Mister.... I'll tell you something." She paused, making him wait in anticipation. "You're not. You're not all that. You are just a small part of the larger world. Just atoms and molecules.... just particles.... making up a larger being. You are nothing without anyone else." And with that, she raised her chin defiantly at him, as if to say, she's had her piece. She's done with this. She's done with him. And Alexandria didn't even care that he didn't know her name or that she didn't know his. Let him chase her if he wanted to continue the argument, but she was so done in the stairwell right now. |
Wrapping it up. xD She knew what to buy him for he’s birthday? What exactly did she mean by that? She did know that on he’s birthday he only would have time to see important people that mattered to him. "Ez long ez your present eez expenzeeve zen I will exzept eet." He said making sure this women knew what quality he was. Yes! What was this lady’s problem? Maybe he was too good looking for her, and maybe she found that disturbing. It wasn’t he’s fault he looked amazing like he did. Dartanian eyed her and waited for her to speak. And he lost her. There were too many words for him to absorb. All he had heard was up to stairwell. From then on he hadn’t heard a thing as he had completely blocked this woman’s voice out. To be honest he didn’t really care much anyways. She was just rambling and rambling like all women did. It was highly annoying. Thank goodness Amy didn’t do these sort of things to him. She was normal unlike the rest of these ladies. "Bleh, Bleh, bleh." He said taking he’s hand and making it look like the hand was talking. "I dent relly cere." He said being straight with her. He just wanted this women to shush already, all her lecturing was only doing one thing and that was giving him a headache. Finally! She was leaving! This actually made Dartanian smirk. He too needed to leave though and so he got up and headed downwards. He wasn’t sure he was going the right way, but he just wanted to get away from this crazy woman. She oddly reminded him a little of he’s older sister, Ariella. Them and their lecturing. |
Dannni/Gavinnnn With a folder open in one hand, and a coffee in the other, Emily ascended the stairs as she did most mornings after her break. She’d checked in with the security personnel in the Atrium and was keen to see how her Aurors have progressed on the de Talone case. With any luck, they might have found a lead on her whereabouts, she wasn’t holding her breath though. She sipped her coffee, her gaze scanning the documents before her, when she suddenly stopped. Something - or someone - drew her attention away from her work, and that was no easy feat. A smirk crossed her lips, “I hear congratulations are in order.” Flipping the folder closed, Emily secured it in the crook of her arm. It could wait, this would likely be more interesting. |

There was noise just a little further down on the stairs, someone else heading this way? Gavin was only slightly curious but not enough to turn around until... .... Good. Merlin. He stopped immediately in his tracks and turned to look at his company. jsdbvfksgf She was on the stairs. He took the time to walk....and she was on the stairs. Well that kinda made those months of walking pointless now didn't it? For a while he just stared before deciding it was fine. She was still a few stairs away. "Congratulations?" Consider him still half asleep. |
