| | | evlpez (by kimberly_and_harry) Here is my [kimberly_and_harry] interview with evlpez (jan) Hope you like it
Kimberly: Let start off with an easy one okay tell me your SS name and what you do on the site please.
Jan: My SN is evlpez (evil PEZ, 'cause I collect PEZ dispensers and the scary Halloween ones are my faves). And I'm the Fan Fiction Admin and the Co-Admin for the Department of International Cooperation. And sponsor of the Bonnie Wright Fan Club. "GO BONNIE!!!" lol Kimberly: lol i never been a big fan of bonnie. So how did you find SS?
Jan: I got an e-mail from Alivans wandmakers website. They were sponsoring a writing contest at Snitch seeker called the Potter Project back in September/October of 2003. I came, I played, I stayed. Kimberly : What the hardest thing you had to as a mod?
Jan says: Hm. That's a tough question. I think that the hardest thing I've had to do as a staff member... is to endure abuse from a member when I had to enforce the rules. Conflict is never easy, and I do try to always be diplomatic and kind, even though I might personally feel really angry and upset. Kimberly says: Ah that mean I could never be rude to any of staff members.
Jan: Well one would hope you wouldn't want to. LOL'Cause really, we're all just teddy bears. XD Kimberly: lol teddy bears that are a bit crazy There lots of another jobs on SS.So if you could have a diffent job which would it be.
Jan: Whoa... Goodness. I can't think of another job I'd enjoy as much as what I do now. I love fiction, and writing though I don't make time to write much. I think... if I couldn't have the job I have, I'd like to moderate Zonko's again, or maybe I'd help in the Newbie Hut and Madam Malkins. Kimberly: My next question mite be easy lol. What would you say is your favorite part of the site?
Jan: Fan Fiction. Grimmauld Place and the Restricted Section. Next to that, the Moderator's forum. So much going on and for a staff member, it's always got what I need to do my job. Kimberly: So they keep you guys bisy don't day i think you should have a couple days off. How did you get into Harry Potter?
Jan: Hehe. My mother in law is a high school English teacher. So she hears a lot about what her kids are reading. And when Harry Potter was really getting recognition for its appeal to both kids and adults, she told me about it. She gave me the first book for Christmas, and I loved it. After a while, CoS and PoA were gifts as well, and I waited with everyone for GoF. I wasn't ready to pay lots of money for it yet though (not that hardcore.. LOL), and I got IT as a gift. I was so hooked, I pre-ordered OotP. Kimberly: Who would be your favorite character and why?
Jan: I have a few. >.>Neville Longbottom. He's such a sweet kid, and he's overcoming a great deal of pain and a great history with his family to become a courageous and valuable champion for what is right. And Severus Snape. Who is a horrible person, but a wonderful character with a very mysterious darkness on the outside, and what I believe to be a truly repentant and selfless inside. Kimberly: Aw Neville is a sweetie and snape is miss understood if you ask me.
Jan: YES! *huggles you* Kimberly: Huggles back lol and i have a nickname for tom Mr.vodie poo lol.So do you ship any of the characters?
Jan: I ship what Jo ships. XD Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione for sure. All the way. And although Tonks/Remus caught me off guard, I'll accept it and be happy for them. XD Kimberly: Well that cool i ship harry/hermione and draco/ginny. What did you think about HBP?
Jan: I loved it. I hesitate to say it's my favorite book, because I love Hogwarts, and so much of HBP took place outside of the school. But it was SO exciting. SO much happening that was important and we'd all waited so long for more of the story. So, thumbs up. XD Kimberly: Now were going to travel outside of Harry Potter, Do you have any hobbies that you would like to share with us?
Jan: Well, I collect PEZ dispensers, though adding to my collection has taken a back seat to Harry in the last while. I sing, play guitar and tinker with other instruments. I love music *waves to all my SSRJ friends*, reading and writing and I recently took up swimming. Not that I didn't know how to swim before, but I just recently started going to the pool for fun. Kimberly: That pool in my gym class we have been swimming in our pool at school it fun. To everyone who going to read this SS RADIO IS THEY BEST YOU SHUOLD LISTEN IN lol had to put that. Now what are some of your favorite TV shows
jan: lol! Rock on, Sistah! I have two small children, so I don't get a whole lot of TV time that isn't full of pre-school programming. But I do love Scrubs, CSI and CSI Miami. And I make a point to see Star Trek Voyager when I can, and Next Generation if I can, and Star gate SG1. I am collecting the DVD sets of a show no longer on, called The Pretender, too. Ooh.. and I like that new show, NUMB3RS Other than that, it's a lot of Disney DVDs and videos, and shows like Rubberdubbers, Spiderman, Toopy & Binoo and the Doodlebops. Kimberly: That cool now what is your favorite food and desert?
Jan: Hm. Well, I think on some level I live on coffee. Or at least, that's something that a lot of SSers might believe. LOL. I LOOOVE coffee. Greek coffee more than any. And I love chocolate. SO.. if I can call coffee a food, then it's what I'd pick. And anything chocolate to go with it. Kimberly: I never had Greek coffee bet I can live off of star bucks coffee and noodles. So who would you say was your favorite solo artist and/or your Favorite band?
Jan: Whoa. That's the toughest question you've asked me yet!!! Favorite solo artist.. Wow. Okay. My favorite songs and albums and that all fluctuate. I change from time to time. So I shall give you my top three. In no particular order. David Bowie, Elvis Costello and Peter Gabriel. And for band...
My favorite band of all time, hands down, are Oingo Boingo. Though there are a few close runners up. The Vandals and The Polyphonic Spree .OMG I forgot Joni Mitchell. Add her to my list of solo artists. XD Kimberly: Wow I don't I ever heard of these people. I listen to a lot of country so that mite be why.
Jan:Yeah. I don't listen to any country. Unless Touz makes me. Kimberly: So my next question is How do you react when someone gives you grief / put downs / criticism over being an HP fan?
Jan: I fully admit my geekiness/nerdiness and accept the fact that others think it might not be cool because I know otherwise. I haven't really ever been put down for it, although I have gotten several strange looks. I just smile and wave the geeks flag of the HP Fandom and let them wonder.
Jan: People who have posted online that Potter geeks are uncool are more often than not either HP fans who haven't admitted it yet, or they don't know how to read. Kimberly: Lol.....So is there anything else that you would like SS members to now about you?
Jan: Hmm. I'd like them to know that I'm a nice person who just loves Harry Potter and loves being a part of a great community like Snitch seeker. And that if they need help with anything, just holler. Anything on SS that is. whew. Kimberly: Lol I think we are done since I have asked you a lot of questions thanks for taking the time to do this.
Jan: You’re welcome, Kim! |
