Malkins Changing Rooms

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...nging-Room.jpg

To the left of the counter, at the back of Madame Malkin's, is a curtained-off doorway leading to a large room. Or, it would be a large room if it hadn't been mostly partitioned off into a multitude of smaller rooms, separated by walls and bearing their own small curtained doorways. Either way, there has to be an enlarging charm placed on the room, as the outside appearance of the shop wouldn't indicate the existence of this space. These are the changing rooms, for customers to try on their robe selections before purchasing, and each one contains a chair and a full-length mirror for people who would rather maintain their privacy.

In the area that is free of changing rooms, but still behind the curtain leading back to the main room, several comfortable-looking upholstered chairs sit, along with a three-way mirror against the far wall of the area for people to examine their robes in. If you are waiting for someone to try things on, feel free to take a seat and relax, converse with others, whatever you'd like (within reason, of course.)

Amy took her robes into the changing rooms she hastilly tried it on she looked in the mirror ooh these are nice she thought she changed back into her old clothes and went back to get a few more things

PamParanoid 08-10-2010 03:33 AM

Pam took the items she was carrying into a changing room and tried on the shirts and other items which needed to be tried on. Lucky for her, most of them fitted just nice. Some were a little big but that was good because she could wear them for another year. Well, perhaps she could if they weren't torn or anything. Perhaps she'd grow taller and needed to buy new ones. She didn't know. But what she knew was that she didn't need any alterations and she was glad. She changed back to the clothes she was wearing when she came and headed to the counter with her items.

Amy walked into the changing rooms, turned around and pulled the curtain so that she could get changed, she then picked up the clothes and pulled them on, one by one until she was fully dressed in the uniform, she turned around 360 degrees, inspecting herself in the mirror, Its fine mum, she called, before turning back to her skirt and t-shirt that was flopped on the stool and pulling it on, she took the clothes, put them on the hanger and walked out of the changing rooms, towards the counter

Sebastian stood before the mirror and gave himself a look. Maybe he could definitely get used to this again. The robes all seemed to fit well and he did look rather dashing, if he said so himself. Aliceara wouldn't have steered him wrong, not like he was worried or anything. Well, maybe he was slightly worried as he did need to look dashing for the celebration he needed to attend for his own birthday. The birthday boy couldn't very well show up in ragged robes. No, his sister would have a field day for sure.

Giving himself another look over, he grinned that crook grin again. Yes, he would definitely have to let listen to the advice of the women in his life more. If you want to find the best robes ask a woman.

If the causal robes were this easy to find, he was sure the formal ones would be a breeze as well.

Zoe glided into the changing room, carrying a handful of beautifully crafted robes. She pulled her Muggle shirt over her head and slipped on the cloak. Yes, she thought. Definitely yes. The robes brought out the flecks of gold in her eyes and made her hair's auburn color even more intense, if that was possible.

She strolled out of the room to purchase the robes.

Nerida took in her robes. All 3 of them. And tried them on...there to long! As always she would need alterations. She wondered how much thos would cost. She tried on her winter cloak again alterations were needed.
She walked out and went to the counter to ask about alterations..

To Lola's surprise that robes fit her very nicely. Not to big and not to snug but a reasonable length and soft feeling. Happy with the decisions she made she changed back into her "muggle" clothing and headed for the counter to purchase her items.

Osiris went into the dressing room and tried on the blouses and skirts first, they all fit well, a relief. She put on the robes as well, (even though they were too long) to see the full effect of the uniform. As she looked in the mirror tears came to her eyes, "this is really happening, I'm going to learn so much and I will be able to perfect my transfiguration techniques... dad will be so proud!" Wiping the tears away she changed into the blue dress, the sleeves needed to be shortened and it was a tad long, the nice clerk should be able to help her :) She changed back to her jeans and purple shirt and headed to the counter...

Emily walked over to the changing rooms with a pile of robes in her arms, and entered a small cubicle. After drawing the curtains closed around her, Emily wnt about trying on her robes. She started with her school robes first and found that they fit quite confortably, flattering her sleek figure.

She then tried on her dress robes. First she tired on the teal robe with silver lace hemming, it fit snugly, clinging to her slight frame. Emily smiled to herself, even she could see that she was beautiful. Next she tried the scarlett robe with the intricate floral design enbrioded with gold thread. She loved it. The colour complimented her complexion, her skin was like strawberries and cream.

Happy with her shopping Emily exited the change rooms and approached the counter.

Serena had a lot to try on. First she tried the age 12 robes. Waaaaay too big, and she was 12 too. She tried on Age 11 and those didn't fit either. Why was she so small? Age 9-10 fitted (just) and so she took those and all the other things she had tried on over to the counter...

Berttie-bott 04-16-2011 07:08 AM

Janet only needs to try one for each kind. "They're all the same size, right ??". Ev'rything fits her perfectly well. She brought all the clothes and brought the, to the counter.

pundantic 04-16-2011 01:21 PM

Selina walked into the fitting room and looked around at all of the mirrors. It was a 360 mirror and all of the sudden Selina felt very self-conscious. Was she really that built like a boy? She knew she was only twelve but everyone else in her grade was at least becoming a somewhat of a woman. Why was she so far behind everyone else? And she didn't have curves either. Selina was just a skinny little thing... Her body was so awkward.

Emmet found a changing cubicle, walked in, and pulled the curtain closed. He slipped the robes over his clothes and couldn't help but notice the quality of the robes. The where of high quality and were very smooth. After Emmet tried everything on he dressed again and head to the counter.

Hallie finally let go of Connor and ducked into a stall and pulled the curtains closed tightly. It was definitely nicer in the fitting rooms then she had imagined them being. And she was even a bit surprised that such an establishment even had fitting rooms. Changing from her nice but casual clothes she put on what the magical world called dress robes, but basically looked extremely similar to a nice formal gown. If Hallie had her way, if she even needed "dress robes" while at Hogwarts, she'd get her dad to mail her one of her ball gowns... "I'm not sure about this Connor!" She called looking in the mirror back at her reflection. Taking a deep breath she turned around, stuck her arm out and threw the curtains open from her stall and stepped out. "What do you think now?" She asked Connor, waiting as patiently as she could on him to come out from his stall. She looked down at the dress, it was o k a y , she guessed.

Connor followed her. Or rather he allowed her to drag him along He took a seat outside and waited for her. "Just try it Hal please? For me?" He crossed his leg ankle over knee and studied the dress robes in his hands. He had pretty well decided to buy them but decided to try them on anyway. So he went and changed. Then he stepped out and saw her. He was rminded of why he had fallen in love with her in the first place. "You're Beautiful." he whispered. Then catching himself he went into his dressing room and changed back into his normal clothes. "I'm sorry Hal. It still hurts some princess." He needed to breathe so he focused on anything but the girl he had loved and fought like cats and dogs with.

Virgo went inside the changing rooms with the robes and gloves she took. She then put the robes and looked at herself in the large mirror in front of her.

Alas. She didn't like the ministry robes.

"For heavens sake, why on earth do th ministry wear such clothes?" she uttered. The robes was simple and flat. You can't even add style even if you wanted too. It was too boring, too bland. "Father will just have to tell me to buy one" she thought as she took of the robes. She'll be buying the gloves, definitely but the robes? hmmm... like she said, if her father will tell her, she'll buy.

She's off to the counter.

She stood there and looked into the large mirror and surveyed herself in the dress. She still couldn't decide how she felt about the dress. She let out a deep breath and turned around. Looking at Connor she gave him a smile, "I don't look that ugly in it do I?" She asked, but soon her question was answered. She looked down at the floor, they still had some weird moments between the two of them. Watching as Connor disappeared into his stall again to change she couldn't think of anything to say to him to comfort him. It hurt her a little too, but they were better off this way. "That green looks dashing on you." She called before she stepped back into her stall and closed the curtains tightly shut. She leaned against the wall and let herself sink down to sit on the floor, hoping that she didn't contract any diseases or anything from sitting there. Letting out a deep breath she dared to ask him. "Do you still think it was the better choice?" She asked. "You know, to end it off as friends." She said from the floor. She reached a hand up to mess with her large diamond earing studs she had in her ears.

Connor sighed softly He got his emotions under contol before the shop had some weather in it. "I think that was the only choice Hal." He said in a somewhat teary voice as he twisted the gold serpent ring sh'd given him around on his finger. "I could not do without you in my life. It may kill me inside at times because part of me still loves you, but I will not do without you." He said softly. He asked the question that had been bugging him for a year. "Hal Why did we fight so much?" he couldn't remember. He got up and straightened his clothes and waited for her outside her cubicle.

Hallie continued to mess with her diamond earings, the ones that Connor had given her on her birthday a few weeks before they finally told each other how they had felt. She nodded her head as if he could see her. She could sense he was getting emotional. She listened to what he had to say, and couldn't help but let a couple of tears fall down her face. The Princess wasn't at all concerned at that moment that she might get a disease from sitting on the floor in the shop or that her makeup might get ruined from crying. She took a deep breath, trying to figure out how to answer his question. They had fought a lot. "Because I'm a Princess." Was all she could muster up and say. She knew why, it was because she was selfish, vain and spoiled. She wanted everything her way. And usually always got it. And Connor was too nice of a person, they clashed. Wiping her tears away, Hallie finally stood up from her seat on the floor and changed back into her nice and fancy Muggle clothes. She looked at herself in the mirror wondering if there was a chance to sneak out without Connor seeing her.

Connor sighed right outside her cubicle. It was true. He loved her and because she was a princess the had said "Frog" and he had jumped. But he had gotten to the point where he'd hated being ordered about. He had wanted to love her in his own way and that hadn't gone over so well. "Hallie could you come out here for a minute please. I-I have to do something...Ihave to know..."

Hallie tried wiping the streaks off of her face that her tears had made but she was so frustrated with herself she just forgot about it and reached for her purse. She was ready to get this over with, what ever it was. It was time to act her age...and then run home to her dad and make him take her back to New York where things could go back to normal...though that meant that Connor might go back as well...she couldn't run from it any longer. She couldn't run from him any longer. Finally she pulled the curtain back and stepped out of her stall. Normally, Hallie would have said something witty right then, but her mind was blank. She wanted to get out of the shop and go home.

Connor stepped up to her and pulled her into his arms. He lifted her chin and looked into her eyes. He had to know if there was anything still there. He could not move on until he knew. He bent down and brushed his lips against hers.

Charlie walked into the changing room carrying all her clothes;her robes, hat, shirts, skirts and socks. The other stuff didn't need to be tried on. She pulled on the robes. They felt comfortable and flowing. They fitted perfectly, swishing at her ankles. Charlie pulled off the robes and tried on the shirts and skirts. God, she hated skirts. She was more of a skinny jeans sort of person but she would never be allowed to wear that at Hogwart's. Everything fitted so they held everything and walked out of the changing room.

hermione-danger 04-26-2011 02:01 PM

Delilah struggled to carry all of the clothes into the changing room. She laughed to herself as she managed to fit it all into the room. She closed the curtain and began to change. As she tried on the skirt, she examined it. She liked it. It fit her well. She tried on everything else and was happy that most of it fit. She went back and grabbed a few more sizes to try on. After a little while longer, she had successfully found clothes that fit. One step closer to Hogwarts! First, she had to pay for the clothes.
