He saw her beautiful face radiate from the center of the Gryffindor table. He walked over and took a seat next to her and gazed upon her staring for a moment and then snapped out of it, "Hey Haupe, hows it going.". He knew things were about to get awkward and he hoped the opening speech would come sooner rather than later.

Haupe was still staring around the hall when she notice Desi was headed straight for her. Oh my god. Oh my god. She thought as he didn't break his stride to sit with her. She swept her hair to one side and straightened her grey vest. She wasn't sure what he was going to say, but she wanted to look her best for him, even if she didn't really want to fall for him. She knew she would, but she couldn't be rude either.

"Hey Desi. Pretty good I suppose. How was your summer holiday?" She asked.

Yeah, that sounded good and not like I thought it out for minutes. She thought. She kept her hands under the table so Desi couldn't see her clutching at the edges of her pleated skirt.

Superbia took note of the other seventh year that had joined him at the table. He couldn't have been more opposite of himself, but he seemed like he should get to know someone else.

"Hey Inertia. How did the summer treat you?" He asked, pushing a strand of hair behind his ear.

Desi just gave Haupe a look. The once unattainable self reliant girl who he fawned over for her nature was now falling for him like all the other girls, such a let down. "My summer was fine but what has gotten into you? In the past you never were this easy? I liked you but I don't like you like this.".

Inertia had been holding his head in both his hands. He had nothing else to do at the House table, and he didn't really know anyone to talk to them. The hall wasn't too full yet, so he couldn't distract himself by the events of the evening. As he heard a voice behind him, he turned, only to find a fellow Seventh Year. Was he talking to him?

Inertia decided to try and put his arrogance out of the conversation. It was only the first night so far. What is his name, now? "Hey, Superbia. The summer was great, as usual," he replied. His usual lazy mornings and not getting out of the house much. "How about you?"

"Had a good holiday, Cate?" Gula asked, facing the girl's slim back. Caute had not turned to see her yet.

Caute's eyes had somehow against her will strayed to the Gryffindor table, and almost subconsciously began looking for Temperentia. She'd pretty much given up hope that he was actually there yet when she heard a familiar voice behind her.

Gula. Turning to face her, Caute smiled. "I did," she said, nodding. She'd composed a piece over the three months, so she was pretty proud of herself. "How were your holidays?"

He LIKED me?! What!?! Haupe screamed in her head. She imagined she had this dumbfounded look on her face, which must have made her really look stupid. "This easy? Liked ME? I believe the question is what has gotten into you Desi." She covered her mouth as if she had cursed at him. Now you've done it Haupe.

She never realized he actually wanted her for who she was...or wanted her at all for that matter. She had always known that he was a ladies man and that's why he never messed with him. Now she was all confused about him.

A normal summer, huh? Inertia cocked his head to one side and raised an eyebrow at Superbia. The summer may have been normal. But there was something about the way he said that which made Inertia curious. "Normal in what ways?" he asked, pressing him. His summer had been pretty boring, but he was interested in the other guy's holiday.

She must have been looking for someone. Her guess was the shy redhead boy... What was his name, again? Temperantia or something. But Gula didn't ask Caute. She probably would've denied it, anyway.

As she turned finally to face Gula, a hint of pride could be detected over Caute's smile. "Yeah? Didya do something new?" Gula asked her. As she went back to thinking about her own summer, her smile twitched slightly. The summer had been alright, but now that it was over, she was faced with the fright of taking her place as an emotion next summer. "Mine was good," she replied, pushing her thoughts away.

She'd always wanted to be part of law enforcement, ever since she was young, just like she'd always had a thing with justice. But that didn't mean she was a good girl all the time. In first year she'd broken a boy's fingers for dipping the end of her plait in an ink pot.

Lus resurfaced from the happy memories of her first year at Hogwarts to find herself at the Ravenclaw table, but instead of sitting down, she looked over to the Slytherin table. She located her twin easily as he sat down, and quickly made her way over to him. "Guess who, Av?" she teased, clapping her palms over his eyes from behind him. She knew he'd know immediately, if not by her voice then by the fact that she'd called him Av. Lus had always completely ignored the fact that her brother didn't like nicknames.

Avaritia spun slightly at the feel of slightly cold hands covering his eyes. He was about to question who might have decided to waste their time and his by walking all the way over to the Slytherin table just to do something so ridiculous when he heard that all too familiar voice with that same annoying nickname he had refused. He smiled. "Good to see you've finally made it Lus." He teased. Merlin knew what took her so long to get here and even when he went looking for her he couldn't find her. Well she did have the habit of popping up. "And boldly venturing over to the Slytherin table nonetheless." It was no secret that she hated it over here.

Vi spotted Superbia once more in the thinning crowd and she smiled. Maybe she could have a bit of fun before the feast started. Besides, sitting at the Puff table would have made her even more noticeable and everyone's attention would have to fall on her. She walked over and deliberately took a seat that allowed her to face him; didn't want his attention straying now did she. "Superbia," she started with a crooked smirk. "It's been a while." Gula's smile had twitched before her face totally fell. "What's wrong?" she asked, instinctively. It was likely the fact that they wold have to be taking up the mantle of their parents after this school term, and if it was, Cate was nervous too.

He quickly realized the way he had worded his feelings was seriously confusing and hurtful. But the way she described him was no better. He was more complex in his lust then most anyone knew. "Look Haupe, I was into girls just throwing themselves on me when I was younger. That was 2 years ago, lusting for beauty got old fast. I started to look toward a girl, namely you who showed 0 interest, someone who I could not have unless I want to work for it. I have proven nothing to you yet. Why do you suddenly like me?".

Amare was ready to be at Hogwarts for her final year and become an emotion. Well it was the lie she had to keep telling herself everyday until it finally happened. It had been surprising to everyone when word got around that she had been sorted into Ravenclaw her first year everyone expected Hufflepuff like she could not be smart! She straightened her skirt as she entered the Great Hall fashionably late. It was not her fault that one of the girls in the bathroom were crying over some stupid guy who cheated on her anyway but being the loving person she was she helped her out. As she entered she immediately looked around for her brother and oooo look who he was with. She could hear love talk a mile away!

She tiptoed over to her brother and Haupe and covered her brother's eyes and said "Guess who Desi Bear. She loved using the nickname her brother detested. It was just so much fun teasing him. She giggled and added "Hey Haupe Bunny." She actually did not know where that nickname came from but she hoped she did not take it to badly, it actually sounded like hoping bunny. She gave everyone a nickname and everyone would just have to accept it. Her hands were still over her brothers eyes when she noticed her nails were Ravenclaw colors she hadnt meant to do it but she was pretty happy that they did.

As Animi entered the Great Hall he instantly looked around for Lustita. Ever since first year he had always liked Lus. His mother liked to say that was because justice and courage go well together. He wanted to walk over to her but she was with her brother-which reminded him where was his brother. Looking around until he spotted him he was talking to Inertia. He walked over to the two and said "Hey guys."

Oh and you know, all the muggle girls fawn over this look." He tousled his dark hair and his eyes sparkled in the dimming light. "I look way better than any of those rock stars in the muggle world." Thank goodness Desi's sister came in the nick of time to save her from having to spill any more of her feelings to this player.

He gave another glance at Lus hopefully Superbia did not notice. "Our summers how awesome they were..." It took all Animi had not to laugh at the idea. He cast a glance around and asked So Vi did you get green with envy when you heard how the girls were all over Superbia?

She gave a glance towards Desi Bear before asking "So Haupe, how was your summer?Meet any boys?" She only asked because she knew it was tick her brother big time hearing the girl he had fallen for talking about other boys, for someone about to become the love emotion Amare was a bit mean-only when it came to Desi Bear. She just couldnt stop calling her brother Desi Bear.

Two minutes made such a difference, and Lus never failed to remind her twin about her head start on life. "Worth slinking into Snake's territory." She got a few dirty looks from surrounding Slytherins, but brushed them off with a flick of her long dyed black/blonde hair.

Glancing at the Gryffindor table, Gula located her sister. She seemed to be in an animated conversation with that annoying guy she had always had a crush on, and his sister. She couldn't let him catch her staring. A thin blush covered Gula's cheeks as she thought about him. She had had a crush on him for a loooong time. He walked over to the two and said "Hey guys."

"Well you-" He started before he was cut off by one of the most annoying girls in school, Vi. Great. He thought.

Woah. Okay.

It seemed that a few seconds ago, Inertia had been engaged in a conversation with Superbia, and all of a sudden, it had become a crowd. First, the annoying Vi arrived. And then Superbia's brother. He didn't have anything against them, of course. The fact that he was one of the laziest and most arrogant people in the world just added to the fact that he wasn't very fond of company, and this was far from what he could handle. Nodding slightly to the two of them, he muttered a bored "Vi, Animi" before he started drumming his fingers on the table. The conversation wasn't one that he was fond of.

Superbia was proud with how quickly his little brother picked up. Sometimes it was nice being twins. He chuckled at Animi's question and faced Vi expectantly.

Once arriving she said "Thanks I love doing my nails I am so good at them I will have to do yours one of these days.!" She gave a glance towards Desi Bear before asking "So Haupe, how was your summer?Meet any boys?" She only asked because she knew it was tick her brother big time hearing the girl he had fallen for talking about other boys, for someone about to become the love emotion Amare was a bit mean-only when it came to Desi Bear. She just couldnt stop calling her brother Desi Bear.

Haupe giggled. "Yeah that would be great! Girls nights are always fun." She said with a grin.

And now the one topic she didn't want to talk about, boys. Especially since the only one she wanted was sitting right in front of her, just out of her reach. "Oh well, you know." She said resting her elbow on the table. Her delicate fingers started to twist her blonde hair idly. "There was this one boy, but I was much too busy to even think of talking to him." She said, praying she didn't pick up on anything towards Desi.

All I had? Who did she think I was? Desi? Although it was fun to play with her. She always thought she had the upper hand on everyone. He smirked at her. "Yes Vi, it has been a while indeed. Oh and you know, all the muggle girls fawn over this look." He tousled his dark hair and his eyes sparkled in the dimming light. "I look way better than any of those rock stars in the muggle world." He chuckled.

Vi couldn't help but smirk. Was he trying to make her jealous or something? She was the embodiment of that emotion; it just wouldn't work. Somehow she just knew that his response would have been caked with his arrogance and honestly she didn't expect any better. She rolled her eyes just to show how much she disagreed. "Don't fool yourself, I've seen goblins better looking than you." She said for good measure. Shooting down his pride would teach him to try making her soo jealous...especially since he had managed to succeed. The nerve of him having all those girls fawn over him. If she had been there things would have been dfferent--uh...not that she cared what happened to him over the summer. He could have had a hundred girls and it wouldn't have bothered her...in theory.

She could feel her eye twitch at Animi's rather annoying statement. Was he trying to rub t in even further? Wasn't it bad enough that the idiot had just finished bragging about it, now this one? It obviously ran in the family to be quite so annoying. "As a matter of fact no." She lied, very convincingly too. "I couldn't care less what your brother does over the summer and I especially don't care that his attention was on every girl but me so why don't you be quiet?" Then people wondered why it was so hard to get along with her. If they all weren't so annoying and would just admit that she deserved all the attention then they could have all gotten off on the right foot. Time to spread a bit of envy. She smiled sweetly up at him. "And what about you? Did having all those girls fawn over your brother instead of you feel as good as you thought it would have or did the green eyed monster pay you a visit over the break?" Her smile turned into a smirk.

She had a thing about taking her time - everyone else could wait for her, couldn't they? She was definitely a sit-back-and-smell-the-roses kind of person, while Avaritia was always two steps ahead of the game.
She sniffed slightly when he mentioned her coming to the Slytherin table. "Just making sure my little brother is okay," she shot back, smiling sweetly. Two minutes made such a difference, and Lus never failed to remind her twin about her head start on life. "Worth slinking into Snake's territory." She got a few dirty looks from surrounding Slytherins, but brushed them off with a flick of her long dyed black/blonde hair.

Glancing around the hall, she caught Animi's eyes on her a second before he looked away. Seems Avaritia wasn't the only person looking for her tonight. She thought about going over to talk to Animi, but decided she could do that later, since he seemed to be occupied with his own brother and friends. She smiled at Gula and Caute at the Ravenclaw table, making a mental note to catch up with them too.

Avaitia shook his head and rolled his eyes. Wasn't she ever going to stop holding that over his head? Two minutes wasn't very long when you thought about it so in all the ways that mattered she was not older than him. But he wouldn't get hung up on that, he would much rather wonder what Thestrals had to do with her being late. "Thestrals?" He asked, hoping she would explain. She may have been older not by much but he was still suppose to protect her--for now anyways and he couldn't have anything happening to her. "It didn't cause you too much trouble right"

In all his plans for world domination he still had to make sure that his sister was alright. When he owned everything he would need someone to celebrate his greatness and well he couldn't think of anyone else who would have put up with his greed.

She couldn't let him catch her staring. A thin blush covered Gula's cheeks as she thought about him. She had had a crush on him for a loooong time. She kept her distance, and that only seemed to attract her more towards him. She realised that Lustita was smiling at her and Caute. Snapping out of her fantasies, Gula smlied back at her.

From the corner of his eyes he caught what he thought was Gula taking a quick glance before looking away. This made him curious but he didn't want to make it obvious so he subtly turned his head at an angle so he could get a better look at her while he waited on his sister's response. When he saw the sudden shade of red attack her cheeks he found himself smiling. For as long as he knew her he had always thought she was a strange girl...but in a good way. She was definitely different, that was for sure. But she was always ignoring him so he wasn't very sure what to make of her, especially her blushing. Prehaps she remembered something embarrassing that happened over her summer break. Meh, he would try finding out later, after all this was their last year and if he didn't find out now then he never would.

Then there was this drag. Gosh she could have sworn that Inertia didn't like anyone, just the way he acted made it easy for anyone to tell. Well she didn't particularly fancy him either. Laziness was a trait she had always despised in anyone and to meet the actual or soon to be embodiment of such a nasty trait made him even less likeable in her book. When she heard him say her name she almost didn't respond but thought against that. It was their last year, she had to try being nice at some point. "Hey there," she tried but then she added, "is it safe to hope that changed for the better over the summer?" It was only half meant to be a joke.

Gula saw Avaritia turn his head slightly. Only slightly. The angle between his chin and his neck had changed visibly. Oh, dear. Has he spotted me? Her heartbeat quickened for a second at the thought of having Avarititia notice her. Before any more disasters, she turned her head and was back to facing Caute. She was positive that he hadn't caught her or anything. She knew he cared nothing for her, anyway, so it wasn't as if he was going to come up and talk to her. And that did it all for Gula.

He couldn't spot Fidem anywhere in the Great Hall. Not since the evening.

Amore began to glance around the room to see who was there hmm where was Ira he was usually yelling by now he always wanted attention. Right now Ira had gotten her attention always leaving her alone its like he didnt like her and she was determined to become more than friends Ira was really the only one that would yell at her, which she had to admit sometimes she needed to be yelled at. "Oh cool. To busy for boys. Well than lets get off the subject of boys please do tell me what you were doing?"

Glancing at the Gryffindor table, Gula located her sister. She seemed to be in an animated conversation with that annoying guy she had always had a crush on, and his sister. She looked at Caute again and shook her head. "It's nothing, really. I was just thinking about how time has flown. Pretty soon, we'll all have to grow up... forever."

Caute nodded, proud smile still there, but slowly fading into its usual look of caution. "Thank you," she said, ducking her head a little to hide her blush. "You play as well, don't you?" Caute asked, inclining her head to the left to face Gula better.

The piece was for two pianos after all, and Cate'd have to enchant the other piano to play with her otherwise.

Noticing Gula's eyes shift to the Slytherin table, she spotted Lus smiling at her. Caute was nothing if not careful, so she simply gave Lus a friendly smile. They had much to talk about later. Then, her eyes went towards the Gryffindor table against her will. Searching for Temperantia in vain, she sighed before turning back to Gula.

"I've been thinking about that lately as well,"
Caute sighed. "But I think that we're ready, for the most part." And they would learn more after they had taken up their new responsibilities. "It'll be hard, though. Growing up."

But that was enough on topics that would bring their spirits down. It was the beginning of term, and something Cate wanted to treasure. But her mind constantly disobeyed her, reminding her of the time she'd heard Temp singing, and of the way he would help her with Herbology. "Have you seen Temp?" she asked Gula, her voice only barely managing to sound nonchalant.

Fidem hadnt really entered the Great Hall yet she had gotten distracted, she gets distracted easily. She quickly slipped inside maybe no one would notice she was late, her brother probably would though. Speak of the devil she saw him right there. She skipped over ot her brother and sat down next to him evil if she had to move some people over and said 'Hey, whats up?' The blonde Hufflepuff looked around at the others who were with him ugh envy-Vi was here and so was Superbia and what was his name erm...Animi that was it the courage guy.

Ira waltzed into the Great Hall not caring that he was late. He just walked on over to the Ravenclaw table. He didn't even look at anyone in the room but as he sat down he cast a glance over to Amore. Beautiful as ever but he would never admit that, he was to moucho and to mean to admit that.

Avaritia, Animi, Gula, Caute ...

Lus grinned at Avaritia as he displayed a little bit of genuine feeling for someone else. "Nope, just a second-year getting freaked that she could see a big dragon/horse thing and her friends didn't see it." Lus could see the thestrals - she'd been at her grandpa's deathbed when she was thirteen, and had seen herself the light fading from his eyes and his body sag as his soul had left him. The thestrals didn't intimidate her anymore, but she clearly remembered seeing them for the first time and not believing her eyes. "Nothing I can't handle."

Glancing around again, Lus' eyes alighted on Animi's just as he looked over at her. This time she kept looking after he looked away. Had he been looking at her more times than was necessary tonight? Yep, yep he had. Lus smiled to herself, then realised she was still looking at the Gryffindor table and turning her attention elsewhere before Avaritia noticed.

Her eyes went to the Ravenclaw table next, and saw Gula looking their way and blushing. Lus looked quickly back at her brother, and noticed him preening. She shook her head in wonder. Gula and Avaritia? Hmm ... she could kind of see that working. And maybe Gula could work on Av's world domination plan too ...
It was official. Lustitia Avril Hodges was playing matchmaker.
"Okay, come on," she announced, taking Avaritia by the arm and hauling him to his feet. "We're going to visit my friends." She led him to the Ravenclaw table and took a seat next to Caute and Gula, pulling her brother down too. "Hey!" she said, smiling at the two girls. "You two have nice holidays?"

Vi found herself scowling at his response. It figured he wouldn't change; Merlin knew he wa probably just too lazy to have any change happen. What was even worse was that he had the gall to give her such a bored look; as if her presence wasn't enough to entertain him. Wasn't she good enough?! She rolled her eyes, refusing to let yet another ingrate get to her tonight.
"My feet are always on the ground, why would I leave them in the air when everyone else's is so firmly planted--no no that simply wouldn't do and you know that. I think you're just jealous that despite my feet being firmly planted I could still see much higher than you and your lazy butt; my advice to you is that you get up, maybe then you'll see more too." As if that would happen.

Avaritia smiled. He could just imagine how terrified that child might have been. It took a while for him to get over seeing them himself and now he wanted to own them all...but one plot at a time, there was no need for him to get any greedier than he already was. He could remember the night after both he and his sister watched their grandfather die. He had heard her screaming and when he got to her room he saw on standing in the corner of the room. At first he thought he might have been going mad but then it occured to him that she must have been seeing it too or she wouldn't have screamed, making them either both mad or completely normal.

When he caught his sister looking at him he should have taken it as his warning to stop staring before she got some kind of scary plan but his eyes weren't working as fast as his mind. Before he knew it even she was lookig over at the table. Yup, time to avert his gaze.

As he fixed his attention on his own table again he felt her hand latch on to his. He looked up at her in utter bemusment then heard her say that they were going over to her friends. Before he could protest he was hauled to his feet and dragged across the room. Luckily he didn't trip over his own feet but his sister could be so forceful when she had a mind to be. In another second he was pulled down into the empty space next to her and staring at both Gula and Caute, still a little puzzled as to why he was here and why Lus saw the need to drag him all the way over here just to say hi; couldn't he have waved from back at the Slytherin table?

Animi's heart flattered when Vi spoke every word that fell off her tongue. He just smirked and said Oh and you know who she is? He gave a glance at Amore just to get her off of track. And then for good measure at every other girl except Vi of course and Lus. What if she knew though than that would mean Superbia told her and then Superbia would get it. He looked back over at Vi, if Vi was smart she would know it but if she wasn't which everyone knew she wasn't than Animi was okay.

She was almost offended by his question. Did he really think that it would have been very hard to figure out something like that? If anything he should have been worried that she had known even before he said anything. Didn't he know that she had spent most of her Hogwarts life looking on, just observing the attention that was never given to her; how it made her sick. She could always tell when someone's interest was on something other than her and that often left her wondering where it was. In this case his attention was clearly on Lus and he could have stared at just about every other girl in the room, it wouldn't work. "Does it really surprize you that I do know?" She questioned, putting aside the fact that he could have ever doubted her abilities. "But you know if you don't believe me then I can always say it aloud and see if anyone else reacts." She said, glancing briefly over at Superbia. They were brothers afterall so he must have had some idea of who his brother was interested in.
