Millie & Leo: Eagle Love or Book Love 1 September 2057 and it was a day that Millie had been dreaming about ever since she was four years old, when her half sister had first gone off to the big castle. Naturally the brunette was hoping for Gryffindor, as her sister had been sorted into seven years earlier, but despite that she couldn't help but feel anxious when her name was called: "Walsh, Millicent" Her brown eyes still curiously engaged on the enchanted castle ceiling, she distractedly made her way over to the stool, stumbling over her feet along the way. The hat - as had happened to fellow students before her - slide over her head and covered her eyes immediately. Ew, it kind of smelled rancid like old socks. Curious ... very curious... ah yes, I see a great love of mischief in here.... a good head.... bravery ... Millie blinked in surprise, willing the hat to say Gryffindor, even if her sister had graduated the year before and wasn't there to welcome her to the red and gold table. Gryffindor, eh? Millie frowned. The hat could read minds? No, no, I reckon you would do better someplace else... someplace that would appreciate your curious nature... "Better be .... RAVENCLAW!" A second later the hat was removed and the small brunette frowned in confusion as she made her way over toward the house table cheering. Well that was weird. *ahem* So as you can see here, this thread is for Eva's lovely librarian character, Leo, and my former shopkeeper assistant character, Millicent Walsh. Who graduated together in 2065, and then went off on their separate ways, until reconnecting recently in DA Summer of 2083 =). We'll play them first as ickles (though if you had a character who was a Ravenclaw and graduated around their time and want to interact than let us know!) |
Leo had been waiting for this day ever since he had stood on the Kings Cross platform and waved off his big sister Ariel when she had gone off to Hogwarts and he had only been 3 years old clutching his father’s hand tightly. On September 1st 2057 he made the trip his sister had made 8 years earlier. Riding on the train had been scary but fun too. He had met a few students who of course had heard his name and then announced that he was going to be BALDIE to them from here on out. Leo had protested but nobody listened. ~~~~~~~~ Nervously twinning his thumbs Leo waited for his turn to take a seat on the stool and get the hat placed on its head. Eyes darting around and up to the ceiling he just wished it could go faster when his name was called "Kitridge Leobald!" Getting stepped on his right foot and nudged in the side when he didn’t move immediately made Leo dart to the stool with haste. Pulse beating hard he felt the hat fall down over his yes. Hm. Curious, intelligent, loyal, just and brave and a book lover Just put me somewhere please? I don't want to be a hat stall. Never fear my dear boy I know just where you belong. Your curiosity and book love makes it quite easy actually. "RAVENCLAW!" Seconds later after the hat had bellowed out it decision Leo with his black curly head made his way over to sit down at the Ravenclaw table next to a brunette in his year. Shooting her a shy smile Leo said a stuck a hand through his unruly curls. "Hi!" |
Perhaps if Millie had been more outgoing on her first train ride and not so self-absorbed in changing into her robes and reading, she might have met a few fellow first years before her arrival. But alas, that had not been the case. Besides reading Hogwarts, A History was important. Glancing down at her fellow Ravenclaws she swallowed nervously and thought perhaps maybe ... just maybe ... taking her nose out of her book wouldn't have been such a bad idea. But before she could dwell too long on her lack of friendships, a boy with unruly curly hair "Hi." Millie said shyly in return. "I'm Millie. And this ... this ceiling and castle, they're really something, aren't they?" |

Putting his hands in his lap Leo eyes darted around nervously and he gulped and swallowed a whole lot as he waited for the food to arrive. He didn't think he could eat something but it would work as a welcome distraction. Just as the brunette beside him. Hiccupping Leo said. "It's nice to meet you Millie. I'm Leo." Eyes getting a twinkle he said excitedly as he pointed upwards. "You know the ceiling is enchanted right, to look like the sky outside? It’s amazing." |

She smiled graciously though when he told her about the ceiling. "Yea, I read about that. In Hogwarts, A History. You have any siblings?" Millie asked nonchalantly, gazing up the professors. "Which one you think is our head of house? Have you heard anything about classes? I really hope our potions master is decent and not an evil dictator." Bubbling over with questions. Being random. Ah yes, Millicent was most definitely nervous. |
We can move to more current time if you want...? Quote:
"A prefect said that we are getting our schedules tomorrow and that we have classes with the other houses." Glancing over at the snake table Leo mumbled. "I hope the student's in the snake house don’t live up to their reputation of being mean and arrogant." Eyes widening Leo blurted out. "Dictator...You can’t be serious? They haven’t had someone like the infamous Severus Snape for years on staff." |

"Not to worry, I have every confidence ... they will..." she said, glancing over at the green and silver table and catching some of the scowls they wore. |

"Did you know the lake holds a giant squid? Want to come with me and see if we can find it tomorrow?" Leo asked bouncing up and down on his seat. He really wanted to explore first thing in the morning. |

"Sure, that'd be great," she smiled, thinking at least if she wasn't brave or chivalrous like Katrina, she had made one friend. And it was only the first night. "P-I-C?" She asked him, hopefully. |

Abruptly getting more serious Leo nodded. "I know that you mean. Being the middle child isn't easy either. Sometimes you wonder how they expect you to be when nothing you do is good enough. I could definitely do without the teasing and stuff." Millie would know what he meant. Shrugging his shoulders Leo's face broke into a grin again "Awesome, now were P-I-C buddies forever." Tomorrow they’d meet the squid and he had a new friend in Millie. |
